My Scrapbook Style- Analyzed!
You are a traditional scrapbooker for the most part. You probably started scrapbooking to document your children or grandchildren's lives. You prefer multiphoto layouts, and most of your pages feature your family. You favor classic designs and products, and you may organize your albums chronologically. sounds about right, doesn't it? Family, documenting (tho I started with my own life- I was fifteen!), and I used to only scrap chronologically. Now, I take whatever photos I am interested in playing with (and have supplies on hand for!) and then put it in the album chronologically later. :D And in case you weren't sure, here's another page I got done, entirely of my own design (...just like all 700 pages before I heard about sketches, lol!) Supplies: Stamps: Choo Choo (Occasions Mini, check it out) Right on Track wheel (also in the mini!), Letterpress ABC (retired) Ink: Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Gray Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Whisper White

New layout
In case the photo is too small even when you click it, the journaling reads:
During fall break 2007 we hiked Limber Pine Trail. Its a short hike with signs all along telling you about the plants around you and stuff like that. Well, ___ plowed into one, breaking her sunglasses and cutting her eyebrow. The glassed cracked right across her eye and that crack yanked out a section of hair from her eyebrow. The eyebrow hair is still in her glasses. And I think that if she hadn't been wearing them, the sign would have hit her directly in the eye, causing a LOT more (and permanent) damage. I was worried about stitches to her eyebrow anyway!
Just in case you ever need to count your blessings... you still have your vision, you did not need stitches, you healed up completely within a month.

A kid and a project
First, the kid. So, you saw the cards I did at my big old class? As I was finishing up the cutting and prepping, and making sure there were enough of each little bit, my son came in to say "mom, I want to make a card for the class." I thought that meant he wanted to make one of those... nope. He drew out this:
and told me what colors he wanted to make this:
and THEN informed me that I had some more cutting to do- the ladies needed to make this card too... um... really?? sorry sweetie...they had enough to get done! lol! But I thought it was really cute, and really smart(!) that he had a sketch of his own, and designed such a fancy card!
Next, my project. Sooo, one of the Bear cub scout requirements is to add to or begin a den scrapbook. COOL!!! I decided about 6w ago that I would take a photo of each of our field trips and then put that in the book, plus have the book available for when they need to write a report on something for a requirement, or make a poster of something or whatever... Plus, its something I know how to do, lol! Well, now that we've gone on 4 field trips, I've finally figured out the best way to do this. I sat down last night and made this title page:
and then * I * will glue down the photo and write the date, what we did, where we went and why, and list off whatever we passed off in the activity! Then, the facing page of the 'layout' will be a lined sheet where the boys write what they learned or what they did on that trip. Cool huh? The boys are excited, and that's the point! What do you think? (other than, my "center" is off....)

A THREE-fer!
Wow! I got THREE Saturday challenges done, in one card, on the same day it was all posted! YEAY!!! lol! So! I took Lauren's color challenge, Jen's SSFYTT and this week's Cinema Challenge plus layers, and made one fancy card! haha!
The only problem is we are having a rain storm that thinks its a blizzard so the sun hasn't come out yet today. The dining room light is the best I have and it makes everything too shiny...So here's the less shiny shot...
And the straight-on shot that is weird colors and too-shiny buttons...
Supplies: Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Fresh Cuts
Ink: Real Red, Basic Gray Paper: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Whisper White card stocks, Real Red Prints DP (retired) Accessories: So Saffron Poly Twill ribbon, Button Latte, Button Bouquet, Mini Glue Dots
I totally agree with Lauren, these are not colors I would normally put together, but it works! I loved Jen's button cluster idea and even had buttons that matched! I haven't seen To Catch A Thief (tho I will put it on my list!) but I figured if Cary Grant is in it, red roses are probably applicable, one way or another. *wink*

Ink: Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Always Artichoke, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: Blender Pens, Latte Buttons, Mini Glue Dots
Its simple, but I like it a lot. Lauren is so creative and has great sketches, I love to play along! It would be awesome to be on her team with all the fun things she has planned! wow! Anyway, here's my try!
35 Card Class Part 2
Yes, 350. Thirty-five cards for ten people. Which included me.
And here are the rest of the cards from my class! Obviously not all of mine are stamped, I think that will come as I need the card. But I think they turned out nicely! And we had a lot of fun, which is always a good thing!
The next class will be scrapbook themed. If you aren't on my email list, let me know if you want more info!

Eternal winter...
is making me absolutely crazy. its snowed hard two days this week, rained most of the day yesterday and every thing is muddy and gray. I am usually one to be grateful for the water because I can't stand living in drought conditions. But its April 17th and still winter...lets move on now! We have Spring Break right now, and between a sick child AGAIN and the obnoxious snow, this one is not quite as fun as last year... But since I have a big card class tonight and have spent the last two evenings prepping, today will be spent with my kids. We might play some games or do some puzzles...I don't know. But something FUN is definitely required.
In the meantime, here is a new, SPRING card to show, now that I've given it to my friend, lol! It was for a challenge on SCS to use soft yellow, soft blue and soft brown, and also uses the sketch from OCC last week. Supplies:
Stamps: Pick A Petal, Sending Happy Thoughts Ink: Close to Cocoa Paper: Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Close to Cocoa Accessories: Word Window Punch, Wide Oval Punch, 1/2 inch circle punch, N/EE Buttons (Retired!) So, HAPPY SPRING!!!! Hope its sunny where you are... lolWednesday, April 15, 2009
Two Cards
Between the allergies and the snow I am just not sure I am ready to tackle today! But here we go...! And we can definitely blame the snow for the lousy photos....
These cards are for a challenge on SCS. I still need to make two to complete the challenge....but I'll post what I've got done now. *wink*

Supplies:
Stamps: Sense of Time Ink: Close to Cocoa Paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla, Old Olive Accessories: Wide Oval Punch, wide Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Jumbo Brads
This second one is definitely a thank you! And much more spring-y!

Crazy, crazy
truly. This weekend was soo crammed-packed with things going on, and I had to get soooo much done in preparations! So my last few posts have been pre-typed, all done in one evening...maybe last Wednesday? So finally, a current post!
I made this card for my sweet MIL's birthday. It was a milestone birthday for her, so there was a HUGE party on Saturday. Ok, HUGE is an understatement. She herself has a posterity of 95- and-one-on-the-way, AND she is a twin so of course the party was combined!! So you can imagine the crazy crowd! :) It turned out to be a wonderful day for them, and I'm glad.
Supplies:Stamps: God's Beauty, Fresh Cuts Ink: Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango Paper: Apricot Appeal, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango Accessories: Mat Pack, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Our daughter was born on her grandma's birthday, and my sisters birthday is the day before, so we had another family party Sunday evening. here are the fabulous cakes my talented husband made and decorated for them! (Tinkerbell is not 'accurate' but its perfect for my very teenage sister. :) Plus she loved it, so that's great! LOL!)

Teen birthday
Yes, the rectangles on the front are hanging off, I did that intentionally. For one thing, the main image is a bit too big, so I set them off a bit, going for a hint of...dare we say, rebelliousness? hee hee! I wish the greeting lined up better too but ya know...what do you do? lol! Supplies: Stamps: Ipodabella (Stamping Bella stamps), Warmest Regards (retired)
Ink: Basic Black Paper: Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Basic Black, White card stock, Loves Me DP (retired!) Accessories: Black grosgrain ribbon, EE/N Buttons (retired), Watercolor Crayons, Blender Pen, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch

A Girly-girl Birthday
I have a bunch of cards I really need to get made, but I have sooo much going on! I keep adding to my to-do list instead of crossing things off...! But last night I did get this card made, for my little princess of a girl.
She is in love with princess-y attire and considers all dress shoes "glass slippers". She got princess dress-ups for Christmas but she's so darn tall for her age that her feet are naturally long, and too long for the 'glass slippers' she got. They're made of fabric so they're stretched out and totally worn out already. So for her birthday this week she's getting two pairs of plastic dress up shoes! I think that's going to be the highlight of the day... lol! So This is the set I had to use for her card! :D
I showed her the two shoe images and asked which one she liked the best. She pointed to the top ones and said "The pink ones". Um....are they pink? Ok, I can do that... lol! Jen's Saturday SFYTT was perfect for using ALL the images! I got to use a bunch of bling and even some crystal effects to make the "glass slipper" glassy and shiny! Yeay!
Stamps: Humor in High Heels
Ink: Black, Pixie Pink, Pretty in Pink Paper: Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Whisper White card stock Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Chunky Sprinkles Glitter, 2 Way Glue Pen, Crystal Effects, Fire Square Rhinestone BradTuesday, April 7, 2009

Wow, ok, its official...I am tossing my computer out the nearest window....! I have had SO MANY problems today! UGH!
Anyway, here is my latest business news, and be sure and check the side bar for the latest updates!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is there anything more fun than getting a hand-stamped card in the mail? Don’t you love knowing that you can brighten someone’s day by sending a card you made yourself? This month’s promo "Get Connected" is all about that! I’m sure you’ve all noticed the single stamps found in the back of the catalog…! Well, until April 30, for every $40 of merchandise you order from the Occasions Mini, you may choose any of the items on page 208 for FREE! That includes two quick kits and eight single stamp images, perfect for making cards! (Some of these stamps are also wonderful for scrapbooking) This promotion is limitless, for every $40 you spend (from the Occasions Mini) you earn a free item!
Any one who hosts a workshop of $150 or more may also select any thing on page 208 FREE. But its always a nice time to host! :D
There’s another great promotion running, if you have ever considered e a demonstrator. Until April 30, you can sign up with a Three-Easy-Payments plan! That means you’ll spend $66.33 during April, May and June and get going on your business in April! This is a really great way to get started because you can use the income you earn to help pay for your starter kit!
I do have a couple more spots in my Stampers 10 club if you still wanted to join. Just let me know before April 15 so we can add your order!!! If you aren’t interested in joining the club but still want to place an order, I will be sending in an order on April 15, so let me know by then!
My 35 Card Class is scheduled for April 17 in Honeyville. I do need your RSVP and fee before then so that I have the supplies ready for you. That needs to be to me no later than April 10. This is a wonderful time to stock up on cards for those events that sneak up on you! You can make them all birthday cards, thank you cards, etc, or choose from a variety of greetings. If you would like to host this same class yourself (rather than travel to Honeyville), simply find four friends who would attend and we’ll get it scheduled!
Now for a quick sketch entry: I wanted to use this stamp set for Charmaine's sketch (from Beate's design team) and I love to use it with the emboss resist technique. I'm just not convinced this is the best color combination ever... haha
