Saffron & Buttons

So since the new catalog came out three weeks ago, (LOVE it, btw!) I cleared off my sample board of all discontinued and retired product. HMM. That left me with a mighty sparse board and that gives me a LOT of work to do! So! I'm going thru sites that have sketches and hoping to get many cards done in the next little bit. Then I'll actually be ready for my upcoming workshops! LOL!

I got to play with Jen's SSFYTT and I LOVE the result...

Supplies:

Stamps: Ever After Ink: Always Artichoke, So Saffron Paper: So Saffron, Always Artichoke & Very Vanilla card stock Accessories: Button Latte, Linen Thread, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon, Mat Pack, Stamping Sponge, Blender Pen

More scrapping!

Ok, when I sat down to scrap, I was trying to play with this challenge on Scrap & Stamp. I don't know tho, if my tiny bit of stamping counts! LOL! I found this sketch on PCP that I liked and since I had a lot of photos for this page, I thought it would work really well. I was originally going to stamp one of the sections, but then I remembered this great Cosmo Cricket DP I won from some blog candy... I was still going to stamp the title but then I saw my new chipboard letters...and there went my stamping! haha! Since the DP is distressed, I wanted to add some purple ink along the edges, especially the corners and I needed a little touch in that bottom corner and the swirls from Priceless was just the thing! So. I am still submitting it for both challenges, with a note that it may not count for the first! But I still like the page a lot!
Supplies: Stamps: Priceless Ink: Orchid Opulence Paper: Summer Sun card stock, Cosmo Cricket-Snorkel DP & sticker Accessories: Loads of Letters chipboard

A little scrappin'

I decided to do some scrapping the other night! AND because I used three embellishments, it fits this weeks OCC Challenge! Yeay! I had these pictures of my daughter, taken in about a two week period, of her wearing various 'dress up' clothes my mom has in a big box...some of which I wore too! She LOVES to wear dress up clothes! Now I need to borrow the marker to do some journaling.... Supplies:Stamps: Taffy Alphabet, Its a Girl Thing (retired)Ink: Ruby Red, Blush BlossomPaper: Blush Blossom, Ruby Red card stocksAccessories: Linen Thread, Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon (retired), Button Bouquet (retired) I actually really like the color combo. I have some super pale stamping along the bottom that is hard to see, but the page is more plain than I'd intended. Oh well...two more done! LOL!

Sympathy Sketch

Whoo! I got to play a sketch yesterday...even if it was for a sympathy card. (I don't know the person)

I used Jen's SSFYTT this week to make this:

Which I think turned out pretty nicely! It doesn't follow the sketch exactly, the sentiment piece is smaller and therefore not laid across the whole tree strip. But its close and this is what worked for what I had.

Supplies: Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Close as a Memory Ink: Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa Paper: Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla Accessories: EE Buttons (retired)

Birthday for a Boy

ONE of the crazy things keeping me off the computer lately is that my son’s birthday was this week. Talk about limited supplies...I tried to take the supplies I would need camping with us but I forgot some important things. Like adhesive...! I had to use scotch tape!

Anyway, I made this card for him from us…

Supplies: Stamps: Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel, Little Trucks (retired) Ink: Basic Gray, Red Ink cartridge Paper: Real Red, Yoyo Yellow & White card stock Accessories: Bold Brights markers, Real Red grosgrain ribbon

I made this card for my parents to give him (Mom has been out of town=no time to stamp)

Supplies: Stamps: Choo Choo, Right on Track wheel, Little Layers Plus (retired) Ink: Basic Gray, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Yoyo Yellow, Creamy Caramel Marker, Chocolate Chip Marker, Tempting Turquoise Marker, Yoyo Yellow Marker

And this is what my daughter did for him!

Supplies:

Stamps: Sock Monkey Ink: Bold Brights Markers Paper: White card stock

My kids love holidays because they get to stamp cards for other people. And they are so proud of their work! LOL! But here's a shot of the birthday boy!

Crazy!

Is your summer this crazy?! Wow. I will try to get some cards posted tomorrow, but yeah, its that crazy. In fact, its the 20th of the month and I just realized I haven't posted the monthly newsletter and things going on!!! (altho I did email that out on the 1st of the month, so if you want to be on my customer email list, let me know!)

So for today, I am quickly letting you know about the deal of the week right now- the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware is available from now until July 26 for only $18.99, rather than $29.95! Sounds like a steal to me!

Valentines in July!

ya know...like Christmas in July? but this is a valentine card. :)

This is for a Whiff of Joy Challenge recipe- 3 papers, 3 flowers and 1 ribbon. Well, I don't have three flowers, so I used flower buttons! Also, I usually use my watercolor crayons to color these WOJ images, but this time I used my mom's Stampin' Up! markers. I think it turned out pretty nice! Supplies: Stamps: Melinda Blowing Kisses (Whiff of Joy) Ink: Black, Markers: More Mustard, Creamy Caramel, Regal Rose, Taken with Teal, Close to Cocoa, Bordering Blue Paper: Close to Cocoa & White card stock, Loves Me DP (retired) Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2 Way Glue Pen, Flirty Ribbon (retired), Button Bouquet (retired)

Roots & Wings

Well, to say I was going to stamp all night was a bit misleading. I had this page below nearly done, so I completed it. Then, I went thru some pages and got some journaling done, FINALLY. My biggest issue there is wanting to write with ink that coordinates with the pages. So since my mom won't be stamping for the next little while, I borrowed her set of Stampin' Up! markers and technically completed many pages that have already been posted here. So hows that? Its one more thing off my to-do list! LOL! So, this page... This page is attempting a catch up on three different things. The sketch was from Stamp & Scrap's first challenge, the butterfly was meant to make it to their second challenge (but I was too late- and then didn't get the title done til last night!!) and the theme is from an SCS challenge which included this quote by Hodding Carter: "There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One is roots; the other, wings."
We had just gotten these pictures printed and I knew it was perfect for the quote, for a page for my daughter. And the butterfly fit very nicely as well. So, there you have it!!! Page one for July. ETA: Supplies: Stamps: Gods Beauty, Classic ABC (both retired) Ink: Basic Gray, Lovely Lilac Paper: Bordering Blue, Lavendar Lace, Whisper Wihte card stocks Accessories: Chunky Sprinkles Glitter, 2 way glue pen, Scallop Edge Punch, misc ribbon

When life happens...

Hello! I know, I have got so much stamp 'work' to get done! I feel like such a slacker! But, just to give you a glimpse....

This is what my desk looks like.....

This is what my kitchen looks like....

and this? That's what I get to do tomorrow, after swimming lessons and registering the car. (those are peas)
So. Now that its after 10:30 PM, I am going to stamp til I'm too tired!!! Watch me go.....................

Currently she is looking for guest designers for the event and hey, I am absolutely willing to keep trying! These are GORGEOUS stamp images!
