Framed art gifts!
Ever since I saw this crown in the Decor Elements brochure, I wanted to get it for my little princess! But then...what would I do for my son?? And then I remembered a poem I got at church, on various hand-outs while growing up that is perfect for both kids!
Sooo, waiting until the 22nd of December to do this project.... Here's my step by step process
This is what it looks like when it arrives (I got the smallest one).
First, peel it off the backing paper, but leave the sticky and the backing attached along the "top" so you can place it carefully...
Now its attached to your surface (in this case- card stock!),
We offer a little tool to apply it, but since this is the first time I've been able to do the vinyl, I used my pampered chef scraper!
Then you peel the sticky paper off the vinyl. On the Regal Rose card stock, it tore just a little bit. No tears on the Brocade Blue...
and the finished product! Altho, my husband thinks there needs to be a pink/blue border framing the whole thing. What do you think?
Supplies:
Her Majesty Small, White, decor Elements Regal Rose, Brocade Blue & Whisper White card stock.
For those wondering, the poem says:
I am a child of royal birth. My Father is king of heaven and earth. My spirit was born in the courts on high, A child of God, a Prince {Princess} am I.Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Tried something new!
Yes I did!
I am making the last of our Christmas cards, and I guess I get bored easily because I like to change it up, a lot. hee hee. I pulled out this old favorite (yes, its retired) and made this card:
But...it needed something. So! I tried the bleaching technique! And now it looks like this:
YEAY!!!
There are a couple ways you can do this, but it all boils down to about the same as the water coloring technique. In this case, I used a dried up blender pens (you can fill an aquapainter or use a watercolor brush) and touched it to the liquid left in the lid of my gallon of bleach. Then I just painted it where I wanted white, and waited a few minutes and that's what happened! Very cool!
You can try this with any current santa, snowman, snowy scene...........
In other news, after very little snow so far, we now have what? 8 inches sitting there? Since Saturday afternoon. And it is still DUMPING.

Counting down to Christmas
A couple weeks ago I mentioned a really neat idea about a December Daily album. Well I am playing along, the round-about-way. :D Its now the 4th, and I am taking pictures every day (that isn't anything new) and choosing one or three keepers for my album. I'm also typing up my journaling so that its all ready forrrr.....
.......my Christmas present: My Digital Studio software!!!!!!
I am so excited! I can't wait to play with this new program! I've seen sooo many things done with it and it looks like a ton of fun! Plus its full of so many of my favorite Stampin' Up! images, including ones I haven't been able to buy as stamps! YEAY for that!!!
This software will allow me to change up my blog banner (whoo!), do scrapbook pages and books, even make cards, calendars, stationery...its gonna rock!
In the meantime, while I wait, Day 3 of December 2009 was Cards. I have stacks of cards I've made (and am still making) and I'm letting my kids choose cards for some of their special people and a few of those special people are getting personalized notes or art from my kids. ;)
here's a few cards from those stacks that you haven't seen yet....
Supplies: Stamps: Patterned Pines, Holidays & Wishes (retired) Ink: Handsome Hunter, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, Real Red Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Soft Suede, Bashful Blue card stocks, Christmas Cocoa DP Accessories: Soft Suede Polka Dot ribbon
