Here's the very last make & take from my upline meeting earlier this month. It's such a pretty card and not one I would have ever thought to put together on my own. Plus it involves a bow and I am really lousy at making bows look nice! This one is a cheat....only one half of the bow pulled thru and the other is just folded behind the knot part! haha!
If you look at the bottom right corner you might see some tiny flowers punched out of the text paper and sponged with a little ink. I thought that was a cute, subtle touch.
They even had us decorate the inside of the card! I never do that... lol!
Supplies:
Stamps: Easter Blossoms
Ink: Baja Breeze, Versamark
Paper: Rose Red, Very Vanilla card stocks, First Editions DP
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Vintage Flower Adornments, Very Vanilla seam binding,

Other green pages...
Well that was smooth. I mentioned a long time ago that I had tons to share...and I've been posting daily, except that I went thru and pre-wrote them. I wrote up this post the night I scrapped the pages and took the photos the next morning.......and never included the photos on this post! Then I went away for the weekend and came home to see that this post has been sitting all day photo-less. Rats. Well, its fixed now. Enjoy, lol!
~~~~~~~
Remember the green-scrapbooking night I mentioned? Here's the other two. These are actually the same weekend, but the park pages are for my son's book and the Mother's Day page is for mine. Just funny to me that I was on such a green kick.
Supplies:
Stamps: Just Perfect Alphabet, retired: Lively Little Ones
Ink: Old Olive, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip marker
Paper: Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Accessories: retired buttons
With this page I started out by using a challenge and then I didn't follow thru half of it so I'm not counting it. But one part was to watercolor with markers- so glad I'd just learned how, LOL! I was super ambitious and thought yellow roses with pink streaks would be cool. Okay, it might be, but four roses later and its just exasperating. *smile
You should also know that cutting around roses on watercolor paper that is still slightly damp is super time-consuming and really hurt my hand, haha. This was a complicated-super-simple page!
I was glad the challenge included black & white photos tho because I had been hit by horrible hayfever the day before these pics were taken and my nose looked quite like a tomato from all the sneezing/blowing. Mother's Day needs moved to a prettier time of year for me, hee hee!
Supplies:
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, retired: Taffy Alphabet
Ink: Basic Black craft ink, Regal Rose, Regal Rose & So Saffron markers
Paper: Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Aquapainter
Hair Things!
Jill Olsen (whose blog is HERE) taught us one of the coolest things we learned at the meeting a couple weeks ago. She showed us how to turn this baggie of circles of fabric (cut with the Big Shot!) into a really fun and pretty flower!
The fabric was a sheer taffeta kind of fabric, and you melt the edges over the heat of a candle!
Then you use a glue gun and some kind of pretty little accessory (I used a rhinestone jewel) and turn it into this!!! Isn't that gorgeous??
Most of the women used them as pins on their blouses, but you could put it on a purse, or even a shoe!
My downline/friend and I chose to use them like this:
New Technique!
Here are a couple more of the make & takes from my meeting. I've mentioned I had to make two sets...my downline friend was not feeling well and didn't want to make the trip up there sick. That's okay tho, I got to play with choices!
I learned something new with these cards. I have long wondered if you could watercolor with markers, but I've only tried blender pens and no, that doesn't work. However, if you use markers on watercolor paper, and you use an aquapainter- well check out those sewing machines! Those are watercolored with markers! Coooool!
All of these supplies are found in the Occasions Mini. I am looking forward to owning some of these for scrapbooking pages of my mom sewing clothes! Won't that be FUN?
Supplies:
Stamps: Sew Suite
Ink: Black Stazon, Regal Rose marker, Tempting Turquoise marker, Tangerine Tango marker, Daffodil Delight marker
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose & Tangerine Tango card stocks, Sweet Stitches DP, Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon, Sweet Buttons Embosslits die, Dimensionals, thread
Star Struck!
I got to scrapbook some more the other night and the theme of *that* night was a green base. Three un-related events and all on a different shade of green base, haha.
These pictures are from last summer. These are the vehicles used in filming the Transformer movies. They stopped in our town of all places for a pit stop/night at a hotel and my husband happened to be driving past and called and told me to get the kids there NOW. So I did and tons of people were there checking it out. It was so funny and my son was SOOOO excited!!! So here's his page, finally.
Supplies:
Stamps: none
Ink: Poppy Parade marker
Paper: Wild Wasabi, retired Primary Colors simply scrappin' kit
Get "Whale"!
Get well cards are one type I don't make very many of. However, a friend of mine (who also works with me in cub scouts) recently had knee surgery that ended up worse than expected, so I thought this might cheer her up a little. I made the card and let the cub scouts write a note inside, hee hee.
Green Birthday
So the other night I used the Mojo 178 sketch to make this card. Looks like a very nice masculine birthday card to me!
Do you ever design a card for someone waaaay in advance knowing perfectly well you'll either forget about *this* one, or make something better later? Well, this is one of those cards. I have someone in mind whose birthday is not for several months. Nice. LOL!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sense of Time, Occasional Quotes
Ink: Always Artichoke, Pear Pizazz
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizazz, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Always Artichoke seam binding, Vintage Trinkets, Mat Pack
Summer!
This is the last of those five pages I got done and had to share. I was really in the mood for summer when I selected photos, and then when I put the pages together I was in the mood for buttons! Lots and lots of buttons were used! LOL!
This page was for a clean and simple (CAS) challenge to keep the focus on the photos. There is no title because I haven't settled on one yet. This is like the last day of summer, or darn close, and the neighborhood was all outside enjoying otter pops!
Supplies:
Stamps: Priceless
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Brights Buttons, Mini Glue Dots
Shaped Card!
Here's a super fun idea! This comes from that upline meeting and just keeps making me need that Big Shot! How about you??
The card was cut using the Bigz L Die: Petal Cone. Then the cone was trimmed down and embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder, and the ice cream part was done using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Then a cherry was punched out of the red Glimmer Paper, with a knot of thin ribbon. Then we stamped the greeting using Curly Cute, on a pre-cut strip of card stock.
Soooo fun!!!
Valentines!!
Happy, happy Valentines day!
At our house we have little valentine cards and/or gifts setting out on the table when the kids wake up, like Easter baskets are. The last few years we've done something valentiney for dinner, heart shaped mini pizzas, heart shaped pancakes, stuff like that. so! Here are the cards I made for my family:
Here are the cards my son made his grandparents:
Here's what my daughter made for grandparents and a few other people:
Here's the craft the kids and I made Sunday night to decorate our house for Valentines! (Thanks to Meg for posting it and Shellie for loaning us contact paper)!
I missed the actual event, but you can catch up for a week or two...
Scrapbook Goals:
So...since I decided a few years ago to scrap random pages and events that simply strike my interest that day...my scrapbooking has become a little chaotic and it is difficult to remember what I have done vs what still needs done. I have thought for quite a while that I need to literally write out which events still need done and for whose book. I've also had enough sense to think that doing a list might overwhelm me too much and then I wouldn't get anything done! Hmm. I may have been too right...
The other night I started with my digital photos and wrote down every event that someone needs scrapped. In most cases, I need to scrap the same event for more than one book. Possibly 1/4 of this list has been done for *someone* already. I have 11.5 sides of paper of lists that need scrapped. Um.... wow. and whoa. and MAN have I got some work to do!!!
So, I need limitless crafting supplies and no other responsibilities... Yep, that's what I need. Who's with me?! hahaha.....
Here's one I got done yesterday:
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Peach Parfait
Paper: Sahara Sand, So Saffron & Peach Parfait card stock, Sunny Garden DP, Spring Showers DP (Retired)
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Peach Parfait ribbon, retired buttons
New Toys!
I got my order yesterday with new toys for me! I wish so bad I could play with the Digital Content disk full of Sale-A-Bration goodness, but I still have a borrowed computer soooo someday!
Until that happy day arrives, I did buy the new color sets of Watercolor Wonder Crayons and I am super excited! Six years ago when they introduced the crayons, it came in a box like this:
It had then-all 48 colors and my upline and her downlines split it into a "club" so we could afford to buy it. :) I believe with the next catalog release they split them into smaller boxes in color families. This made it affordable to everyone!
With the Color Revolution this summer, my crayons were depleted to look like this:
It was a little bit pathetic... :) So since it is Sale-A-Bration time and I just *had* to spend my $50, I bought the new colors! They come in the new color families, in their own boxes like this, and all four boxes came in this cute brown box which is probably going to be re-purposed!
Now all of my crayons are in their own color family box and its so fun! Here's the first project I made with them today, using new stamps and a new ribbon!
Supplies:
Stamps: Birthday Bakery (hostess level 1)
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Concord Crush, Real Red & Whisper White card stocks, Hostess Level 1 DSP
Accessories: Brights Buttons, Real Read thin Taffeta Ribbon, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens
