Today I used Susan's sketch for October and created these fun little cards to stick in my kids' lunches! I havent' done that yet this year and I really ought to! I cut the greeting all wonky because for some reason, Halloween strikes me as perfect for wonky-ness! haha!

Paper: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Daffodil Delight thin ribbon, 1 inch circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch

Pumpkin Thank You

I love how this card turned out!! It is quite seasonal, but it works great for any thank you someone might need to send between now and December! We sponged around the edge of the pumpkin pieces, and also scuffed them straight onto the ink pad. Then I just cut a bit of Old Olive card stock for the stem.
Supplies:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla & Old Olive card stocks, First Edition DP
Accessories: Wide Oval punch, Linen Thread, Stamping Sponge, Dimensionals
and because I'm kinda weird, I have to show you how funny this looked....I use every speck of my Dimensionals since no one is going to see it anyway, and that includes trimming off the edges. I only had a tiny bit left on this sheet and this was totally happen-stance, in fact the pumpkin was upside down so I wasn't trying to make a face. the "nose" was almost an after thought- but I didn't want it to get squished in the middle! haha!

Sketch & Color Challenge!

This card uses the challenge found on the Clean & Simple blog, where they have both a sketch and a color challenge. Usually I don't like color challenges, they rarely end up looking great for me. But this time I really liked the colors and thought I'd give it a shot. Turned out great this time!! Yeay!
Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Early Espresso, Certainly Celery
Paper: Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Early Espresso, Pool Party
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch

You ought to take some time browsing for challenges that appeal to you. Do you like sketches? Do you like to CASE (copy and share everything) cards that you see? Do you enjoy color challenges or inspriation challenges? Find a few, and see what you come up with! It can be so nice to have a jumping off point before you start creating!

A sketch takes its own direction

Today is World Card Making Day!!

I am not participating today, but I DO have some cards ready to share with you throughout the day! Hopefully you'll find something that inspires you to get your stamps out and create some lovely cards to send out to people. You might get going on your Christmas cards, make some Thank You cards to send out as you list what you're thankful for in November, or maybe your sister's birthday is coming up!

This first card was inspired by THIS sketch...but then it needed something more than the DP and buttons...and so it ended up only partially following the sketch. Oh well, I like how it turned out anyway!
Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla card stocks, First Edition DP
Accessories: Brights Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Inspiration Everywhere!

My blogging buddy Susan posted a card that used THIS challenge, to create a card based on your blog header! What a fun idea! I created my blog header in My Digital Studio, so its already using Stampin' Up! products. My paper card needed a bit of retired product, but hey, that's one less sheet of retired DP in my stash now!
Supplies:
Stamps: Daring Adventure
Ink: Early Espresso ink & Marker
Paper: Early Espresso & Certainly Celery card stock, retired hostess pack of DP
Accessories: Bird Builder Punch, Mat Pack
