This week the MDS Monday challenge was to make a page with the chalkboard look. There was no sketch so I used THIS one!
I don't have the downloads that had a chalkboard paper with them, so I created my own! First, I used black card stock as the base, and changed it to 90% opacity. Then I added two layers of Vintage Overlays with "watermark" ink. That made it a little chalky around the edges. I used the snow flurry stamp from Lemonade Stand for the dots- and I took it from about 2 inches tall to 12 inches tall! Then I have a layer of Just Add Cake lined paper, torn across the bottom. The photos are matted in Very Vanilla. I recolored the Burlap Ribbon pennants to Vanilla, and strung them on a freehanded curved line. Finally I added three pennants on the side to use as my journaling tags, and threw on a pencil to emphasize the theme! Oh, and the title...
Supplies:
MDS: Burlap Ribbon download, Just Add Cake DP, Keep In Touch download, Vintage Overlays, Lemonade Stand content disk, Mini Flag Banner Punch, Flag Punch, Recolor Tool
Fonts: 1942 Report, Chalk Hand Lettering
Tanya, what a darling page! I love the way you created your own chalkboard paper. Very clever! The re-colored pennants look fantastic, as well as the lined paper and pencil to emphasize the theme. LOVE IT!
