Something To Be Thankful For...

Happy Monday!
Today's card uses the latest from Freshly Made Sketches and features the same DP and stamp set I showed off on Saturday! This is the first time I've used the sweet star pattern. Gotta use these Sale-A-Bration toys before they're gone!!
This sentiment might be my favorite in the whole mini. I can think of so many times this applies, and how well it applies too. Life is absolutely full of disappointments and frustrations and bad days, but. There is always something to be thankful for. Always.
Supplies:
Stamps: You Brighten My Day
Ink: Lost Lagoon
Paper: Lost Lagoon & Whisper White card stocks, Irresistably Yours DP
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch, Stamping Sponge, Candy Dots (white colored with Lost Lagoon marker), Soft Sky seam binding ribbon

You Brighten My Day!

With Sale-A-Bration ending, I wanted to squeeze a few more projects out before the time is up! Today I got to make these two cards, which are pretty much the same card, haha...I used the current Mojo Monday sketch for both, and the same supplies, just slight variations...
These were so hard to photograph! it's just windy enough out there that the cards are having a hard time staying up long enough to snap a pic, and the buttons are just heavy enough to keep pulling them down too! So you don't get to see them side by side, haha...

First the pink one! I used the biggest star die to cut the shape out, and for this card I used the inside of the die to sponge Melon Mambo ink on the awesome Sale-A-Bration DP. Then I added the Gold Glimmer DP because I thought it went well with the sentiment! I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the row of stars.
Supplies:
Stamps: You Brighten My Day
Ink: Melon Mambo, Memento Black, Blushing Bride marker
Paper: Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stocks, Irresistably Yours DP, Gold Glimmer DP
Accessories: Stamping Sponge, Oval Punch, Hexagon Punch (flagged end), Gold Buttons, White Bakers Twine, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Stars Die

And for the orange version, I laid the die cut star on top and sponged around it! Fun, huh? And I thought it would be cute to highlight the word "brighten"...it is a fun touch but it turned out a little sloppy....oh well!
Supplies:
Stamps: You Brighten My Day
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Memento Black, Tangelo Twist marker
Paper: Pumpkin Pie & Whisper White card stocks, Irresistably Yours DP, Gold Glimmer DP
Accessories: Stamping Sponge, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Hexagon Punch (flagged end), Gold Buttons, White Bakers Twine, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Stars Die

March 2015 Paper Pumpkin!

I think this kit came last week, and I finally got to put it together yesterday! Well...a few of them anyway...I still have plenty of ideas, and Pinterest is exploding with even more! :)

First up, I followed the directions and made this card. They're smaller than the standard card size, and the DP is single sided and folded in half for your convenience. Then! You get to stitch the thread around the YOU! It wasn't difficult, but a little more time consuming.
But that's no problem- if you don't like the stitching, you can always use a pen or marker on the YOU instead, and use the thread for something else!

And this time I turned the card and added a few stars to reinforce the celebration-ness!
And yes, this one was totally inspired by THIS card.
So there are a few ideas to get you started with the kit, or any card making you might be doing today! Can't wait to play with the rest of it! *grin

MDS Monday for Family Night!

I really didn't have any more craft time over the weekend but today I decided I needed to scrapbook something! MDS Monday to the rescue! I looked for an event that I've only taken two pictures of (haha...) and whipped this page right up!
This was a funny thing...we had a crazy busy Saturday, and finally my husband announced we were breaking for dinner...at Taco Bell! My son had brought UNO cards so we pulled them out and played a couple rounds while we were eating, haha! That's how we fit family time in!
Supplies: Brads, Hodgepodge Hardware (recolor tool), Punches, Wonderfall DP, Greatest Moments stamp
Font: Artistamp Medium

Did you hear the sad news about MDS? This is what I sent in my emailed newsletter...
If you own and use MDS (My Digital Studio) then you have likely noticed a decrease in products offered. There was nothing MDS related in the Sale-A-Bration Mini, nor the Occasions Mini. And they recently went from weekly digital downloads being made available to monthly.
That all should have been a big indication, but it still came as a shock to me when this update was posted.
MDS will only be available and supported thru May 31, 2015. That means if you want your projects printed thru Stampin' Up! you'll need to be done by then. If you wanted to purchase any more downloads, you'll need to by then. Don't forget- spending $50 on MDS (downloads or printing) still qualifies you for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!

Another Wedding Card!

Nope, I haven't stamped the entire week!! But this weekend we have another wedding reception and that means I needed a card! I got my newest stamp order so of course I had to play with that! *grin I have been eyeing this stamp set since it came out and I finally got it! I used the latest Mojo Monday sketch for the layout and threw in some gold sparkly, haha! But it really is a simple card...
Supplies:
Stamps: Choose Happiness, Simply Wonderful
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White card stocks, Gold Glimmer DP
Accessories: Stacked With Love Washi Tape. Gold Buttons, White Bakers Twine, Blackberry Bliss stitched ribbon, Dimensionals

And hopefully I can do some more stamping this weekend!

Pink & Gray Birthday!

Today was fun! Today I got to go to a birthday lunch with some of my closest friends! There was a group of us in the townhouse complex I live in but they keep moving away... Two of us have birthdays in March (my birthday was last week) and four of us got together today for lunch! Of course that meant I needed to make a card for my friend whose birthday is next!
I used the Mojo Monday sketch as my starting point, but instead of three shapes I ended up with something of a collage! I think it's fun!
Supplies:
Stamps: Snuggles & Smooches, Six Sided Sampler, Honeycomb Hello
Ink: Crisp Canteloupe, Calypso Coral, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate
Paper: Whisper White card stock, Stacked with Love DP
Accessories: Epic Day Washi Tape, Subtles Candy Dots, Hexagon Punch, Hexagon Hive thinlit die, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Big Shot

And here's our fun lunch!

Snow Day Layout!

This is the layout I put together last night! Maybe I'm missing the snow this year? haha...we have had four days of snow on the ground all season, and they weren't consecutive!
So these photos were taken the week of Christmas 2010. Annnd they finally got put on pages for my son's book! Finally...!
I also used the November Paper Pumpkin kit for the whole thing, except that I added some inks and a marker, haha! oh, and of course an alphabet stamp set for a title! I used the snowflake stamps, a few of the snowflake dies, and the washi tape. I also used the "stencil" that was left after we punched out the large snowflake for the die cut card that was part of the kit! It's a pretty simple page, but I like it.
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini ABC, November Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Smoky Slate, Lost Lagoon, Island Indigo, & Soft Sky ink, Island Indigo marker
Paper: Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: November Paper Pumpkin (Washi Tape, snowflake die cuts, rhinestone)

And here's a little close up of the sponging and stuff!

Dressing Up

Today I have a page for the latest MDS Monday sketch!
For Dr Seuss Day this year, our school decided to let the kids dress up like their favorite book characters for the day. There was no question who my daughter would choose to be- her favorite book is the Helen Keller story, so we found some things in her closet that would work to dress up like her. She still had to tell everyone who she was, but I think she had a lot of fun "pretending" to be Helen Keller!
This is a great layout, tho I made one of the squares another photo, to better see the book and her face, haha!
Supplies:
MDS: Pocketful of Posies DP, Crochet Ribbon download, Punches, Button Latte,

Stamp News!

Yep, its that big of a deal that it needs mentioned in its own blog post!

We'll start with the disappointing news first...
Blendabilities have been discontinued! I know *I have had issues with mine, and even got two sets replaced because of issues. And I have mentioned this at my events too, since the problems started. I haven't sold many sets of these because my customers have seen the issues (my lids won't go on properly, and have gotten jammed into the little circle, and then dry out almost over night- other customers are receiving them dry), but I'm still disappointed that Stampin' Up! has decided to discontinue them. Here's what they have to say about it:
A number of you have experienced quality issues with the Blendabilities product line, which has resulted in frustration for both you and your customers. Due to the nature of the defect, we have concluded that difficulties, dissatisfaction, and product returns will only become more widespread. The manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a manner that we are certain would meet our high quality standards and provide us with a stable, long-term solution. Therefore, after a great deal of deliberation and in order to prevent further disappointment, the Blendabilities product line has been discontinued.
Then for the other news!
At the top of my blog here, I have the words "What's Going On?" and right now that link mostly takes you to a list of all the monthly photopolymer stamp sets we currently offer. You already know that photopolymer sets are found in all of our catalogs, and therefore today is the final monthly set release. And it is a fun one!! I'm not usually a fan of the 'sarcastic images' but this one just strikes me as fun! Click HERE to view it!

February Paper Pumpkin!

Have you seen last month's Paper Pumpkin kit? The video on how to put together their project is linked below.
The first thing I did when I opened the kit was design a scrapbook page, however, as I was gluing photos down I realized one was missing....so I'll have to get it printed and share it later! But for today, I have a few other things I've created!

First up, this card, using the negative of the felt. Kinda cool, kinda funky, and! Fits the Freshly Made Sketch from last week! To get my size, I matched the short side of the card stock up to the business sized envelope, scored where it needed to fold, folded it in half and then I knew where to cut the other end! (did that make sense??) Then I trimmed some off the end because it felt too long with the THANKS. I stamped a few of the circley images on the bottom, and clearly the triangly image behind where I wanted the word. I like the stamps, and I was excited to get a Stampin' Spot of Pool Party in my kit too! :)
Supplies:
Feb 2015 Paper Pumpkin, White card stock

Then, I like the note card idea, so I trimmed two sections off to make a card! Voila:
And! I like the box as a treat pouch! Who knew I was such a fan of treats??
(ok, no...anyone who knows me knows I'm a HUGE fan of treats...I meant the giving of the treats...that part is new...ahem...)

So here's the thing...This super cute kit makes 8 of those boxes, and includes two ink colors! It can make as many cards as you want since it's just Whisper White card stock- and who doesn't have that?? haha! And it's only $19.95 a month to sign up!
Psst...you can buy past kits if you're a subscriber...!

BUT! Right now, and until March 31, a 3 month subscription to Paper Pumpkin is only $54.95! (instead of  And even better- that same 3 month subscription gets you a Sale-A-Bration item FREE! Let me know if you need help signing up- but it should be quite easy to do by simply clicking on my Paper Pumpkin button on my side bar --->

And HERE's that video for you.

Love this!

I
love
this
DP!

I loved it the last time we had this style!
I like sponging on my own ink and making my own paper! Its very cool! And this time I really love how it turned out, haha...
And yes, I'm posting on a Sunday to help make up for my lack of posts all week!

I used the Nacho Average Sketch for the layout, sponged the DP with Wild Wasabi, and then cut down the middle of it, and spaced it out like the sketch! Then I punched the three flowers and added Candy Dots to their centers and stuck them on with Dimensionals! Super easy, very pretty!
Supplies:
Stamps: Petite Petals
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo
Paper: Blushing Bride card stock, Irresistably Yours DP
Accessories: Stamping Sponge, Brights Candy Dots

New Glasses!

Squeezing in under the wire to participate in this week's MDS Monday sketch, but I did it! This is also my first scrapbook page for March!
The page is suuuuper simple, and completely feature the photos, which is, of course, the point! I did recolor the Burlap Ribbon to be white and better match the page, and the background paper opacity was changed...that's really about it...!
Supplies:
MDS: Sunny Day DP, Burlap Ribbon,

Blog Hop: March Madness!

Another new month! This time for our Blog Hop we are going with March Madness- and mostly that means: anything that applies to March! You never know what you're going to find!
I chose to go with a Spring theme! ...our winter has been really weird. Hardly any snow, and jacket weather or less...til this week when its been very cold and snowy again! Which is good...we need the snow..... But my birthday is coming up very soon and I'm in the mood for Spring!
I also stuck to one set to show off some versatility! Love dong that!
*Bonus- these projects were part of my workshop yesterday morning!

First up- this card, which was also the Make & Take! We sponged Old Olive ink onto the polka dot patterned DP. The butterflies were punched out, and they have a tiny pearl on them, that was colored with the Blendabilities. The ribbon was frayed...or really, in my case, pulled apart, haha, And the flower image was also colored with Blendabilities.
Supplies:
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake, Memento Black, Wisteria Wonder Blendabilities, Old Olive Blendabilities
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla card stocks, Irresistibly Yours DP (Sale-a-Bration only)
Accessories: Basic Pearls, White Jute Ribbon, Itty Bitty Butterfly Punch

Here is the scrapbook page I demonstrated, and I think the blue butterflies definitely bring Spring to this page!
Supplies:
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Skinny Mini ABC
Ink: Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, Lost Lagoon Marker
Paper: Whisper White, Night Of Navy, Soft Sky card stocks
Accessories: Epic Day washi tape, Butterfly Thinlits, Big Shot

Now that you've enjoyed my dose of Spring, head on over to Cheryl's blog and see what fun projects she has to share! Then continue thru the rest of the bloggers, and! leave some comments telling us what you think! And enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
