Band Competition

Today I'm calling this the end of my son's band pictures, til I scrapbook from previous years, haha...
This one's a three pager! Sheesh! haha..... of course it is- it's his final Marching Band event ever! This is at the state competition, which is an overnight trip for our school. As with most of my band pages, the photos are the main point, leaving little room for anything else. Which is why I ended up not choosing to share most of the band competition pages after all, haha.

Ink: Seaside Spray, Night of Navy

More Sympathy

It's been a year, in every way. I needed some more sympathy cards, so I put this one together this week. Today's card uses a sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches and a soft color palette. It really is simple, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Supplies:
Stamps: Field of Flowers
Ink: Rococo Rose, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede

Band Practice Pages

I didn't plan to scrap much of their band practices, if any at all. And we ended up with two pages!

This first page is really only to show the every day. His band teacher posted on fb, a picture and some info, often. With these pictures, I felt like that was important to preserve. Things like:
"We couldn't see the yard lines so the band spent rehearsal today on the track. These kids deserve a lot of praise. They are such a hard-working, dedicated bunch of people."
Supplies:
Paper: Very Vanilla, Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes

And then these pictures I didn't plan to take, so they're awful quality with my phone camera! This was the last practice for I believe 14 seniors, most of whom have been doing marching band for four years. On this particular day, my son was supposed to be to work at 5, but band ended at 5 (always) so he was going to be a little late. Since he had to work, I had to pick up my daughter, and I was across the valley, hurrying to the school as quickly as I could. I got there about 530 and they were all STILL standing together, hugging and sobbing, including my son who was supposed to be at work! ACK! But I took a few pictures and then of course had to scrap them for him.
(it was a tiny bit funny because the very next day they were all getting on a bus for an overnight trip to the state band competition...oh and they'd continue to go to school together, up til the point the world shut down.....but they were sure sad to see this come to an end.)

Cookies!

I finally stamped something! It isn't my favorite thing, but it's still cute. I think the colors are just more bold than I typically like, lol. For this card, I used the Mojo Monday sketch and sort of the color challenge from Inspire.Create.Challenges (three of them anyway). And, it was already delivered WITH a plate of chocolate chip cookies, of course! haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Nothing's Better Than
Ink: Magenta Madness, Memento Black
Paper: Magenta Madness, Cinnamon Cider, Whisper White & Bumblebee
Accessories: 1/4" Bumblebee Ribbon, Love You More Than dies, Big Shot

Parade Pages!

Happy Monday to you! I have got to get some stamping done this week, but since I haven't done that yet here's another day of scrapbook inspiration for you!

Today's layout was for a challenge to use "sunburnt country colors. Bonus if you add coral or things found in the ocean." So for sunburnt, I used the hot yellow, the dusty cajun and the dark gray band paper. Then I have a pop of light blue for the ocean! I like that I turned the journaling sideways to do something a little different on this layout.
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet (retired!)
Ink: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Daffodil Delight & Whisper White card stocks, Adventure Bound DP (retired!), misc band DP
Journaling Font: Parade

Don't forget, there's only one week left for BONUS DAYS! That means one week to earn your $5 coupon, every time you spend $50 (before tax and shipping). Let me know if you need help placing your order!

A Book Cover

Still no stamping going on around here...but a small order did arrive yesterday so now I'm really hoping I get to stamp soon!! Don't forget YOU can get a $5 coupon code for every $50 you spend before Aug 3!

Today I have more scrapbooking for you, but this is a change up from the typical pages of late, ha. Around Christmastime I put a small photo book together for a great-aunt in an assisted living home. I used pictures spanning her lifetime, and used a bound printed photo book service I do not recommend. Her sister loved it so much that I then put a book together for her, intended for Mother's Day. I designed the entire second book in MDS and uploaded the pages to a blank photo book with a better printing service. I kept the pages simple, using different blue DP backgrounds, and only a strip of lace and the photos. But the cover was fancier and I happen to love how it turned out!

Birthday Layout!

Back to the scrapping that filled my May, haha.
I am so far behind on birthday pages! The only reason this got done was because I was trying hard to complete his entire senior year. This particular layout was for a challenge to scrap sunshine, and for a bonus include a drink. There is some sun streaming thru the windows in these photos, and there are tiny sunshines on the yellow strips of DP. That bonus was more of a stretch but there are cans of soda on the table in two pictures, if you look closely... haha!
Supplies:
Paper: Pumpkin Pie card stock, Festive Birthday DP (retired)
Accessories: Large Numbers Die, Big Shot
Journaling font: Jenna Sue
I'm hoping to get some more scrapping done very soon... What are you making this week?

Disneyland Digi Pages

About a year ago, my son got to go to Disneyland with the band and orchestra. He had a flip phone, and a small camera that he didn't carry around very much, haha. So these photos needed to be scrapped digitally, rather than printed out to a regular 4x6 size. To make it easier on myself, haha, I designed one simple layout and added some white ovals where there was too much space needing filled. Like this:

Paper Pumpkin Tip!

The only stamping I have done this month is a stack of sympathy cards, and mostly from old Paper Pumpkin kits. So here is my tip: Many of these kits come with options. This particular one has a "thanks" a "congrats" and this "sympathy". Since I didn't know what I wanted to make when the kit came, it just sat and waited til I needed something. But as I'm using up my kits, I'm just a little worried about sending duplicate cards to the same person! So the tip of the day is- on the instruction paper that comes with every kit, write the name of who you send the cards to. Then you know they already got one from this kit and can send something different! Wish I'd thought of that ages ago!

And here are two cute sympathy cards I would not have come up with on my own. These are from August 2017! Hoping to get some other stamping done soon!

We Create Blog Hop: Look at these Labels

Another month already, another blog hop ready to inspire you!
For my card today I used the sketch from The Paper Players, and with that cute gingham ribbon, I'm entering it with the latest SUO Challenges because gingham says picnic and picnic says summer!
I'm featuring a few new-catalog products which is fun. I have a new stamp set, a new In Color, a new punch (altho I have shown that twice already), and a new ribbon (I've shown the other two in the pack but this one is new)! And the focus, is obviously, the cute label punch! Layering is super easy, and these little phrases are so cute!
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely You
Ink: Rococo Rose, Memento Black
Paper: Just Jade, Whisper White & Rococo Rose card stocks
Accessories: Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, Lovely Labels Pick A Punch, Dimensionals
