A Dandelion in New Colors!

I got a little stamping time today so I'm finally posting this.
I used the color combo from Global Design Project, which features three of the new In Colors I haven't even played with yet! ...I don't think... haha....!
Anyway, I used the markers because I hadn't decided which ink pads I was going to get. And markers sometimes give a not-entirely clear image. Thanks for pushing me over the edge guys...I need Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent for sure! haha!

Supplies:
Stamps: Garden Wishes
Ink: Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen
Paper: Basic White, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen
Accessories: Flowers For Every Season, Linen Thread

One of these days I'm going to need to make cards for my display board, but in the meantime, I know who to send this one to.
You should mail a pretty card too! People love getting them! I promise!

Graduating Girl

This card is for a friend's daughter's graduation. The color combo at Sunday Stamps matched the shirt in her graduation announcement perfectly, so I had to use it! I also used the latest Freshly Made Sketch

I used this fantastic stamp, and combined it with the March Paper Pumpkin, which is where the words come from, as well as the sunshine stencil. I sponged Balmy Blue all over the white panel but that's really hard to see....

Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Moments, Here's To You March 2021 PP
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue
Paper: Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Basic White
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Here's To You March 2021 PP Stencil, sponge

The layout is for a scrapping friend, Cheryl, and uses one of her sketches too!

Supplies:
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Silver Glimmer, Certainly Celery, Everybody's Buisness DP
Accessories: Tag Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Eyelet border punch
Journaling Font: Edwardian Script, Bodoni MT Condensed

Paper Pumpkin!

I haven't done anything with my stack of Paper Pumpkin kits in a little while, (that needs to change...) but I did need a nice, masculine card and the March 2021 kit was perfect! So since I finally used it, here you go!

Design #1:

Design #2:

Side by side!
That kit made four of each card, and had some bonus supplies in it because the March kit is the "anniversary" kit. So lots to be made with it. Yeay!

If you want to sign up for Paper Pumpkin right now, here's the sneak peek at that fun kit. I am looking forward to this one!

December Daily 2020

In the crafting and scrapbooking world, there is a concept called December Daily. It's an Ali Edwards idea to create an album to capture one story a day for the month of December to scrap your holiday season. The idea is to do it ahead of time before you're too busy. The trouble is, for example, we don't get to go sledding every December because some times there isn't snow. And I don't know until I get there how many times we're going to bake, or what recipes we'll end up using. And things like that. So I have adapted the concept to work for me, kind of backwards from her method.

I've only done it three times, 2009, 2016 and now 2020. I "start" by saving my photos into daily folders on my computer. I take notes of what we did that day, funny quotes, whatever, and then later, after the holidays, hahaha, I put it together. This time, I ordered the 6x8 Album and four packs of the 6x8 photo pocket pages. I printed a LOT of photos, and I pulled out allll the various Christmas-themed Memories & More cards and older Project Life card packs Stampin' Up! has sold over the last few years. THIS ONE is still available on the Clearance Rack. I own that one, and at least four others. I laid them all out and got to work!

Here are some of the layouts:

It took me about six days total to put this little book together. Two to lay out and trim photos, one to pick pocket cards to help fill in and allow me to write the story, and three to write it all out, haha.... But now I have a small book, telling all about how we celebrated Christmas in 2020! We started decorating on Friday Nov 27, and it goes thru New Years Eve. It is 54 pages long (counting both sides of the page) with 32 journaling pockets, and every single day is mentioned.

And, my kids love it!

Retired birthday berries!

Hello again! More retired product today.
Today's card is for someone in particular who is a HUGE fan of berries, haha. I had to pull out this Sale-A-Bration set that retired in February. I used the Fab Friday Sketch, hmm....mostly....? and the birthday theme from Global Design Project for this card. Quick, sweet and perfectly mailable!
Supplies:
Stamps: Berry Blessings (retired), Party Wishes (long retired)
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green
Paper: Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green & Basic White card stocks, Berry Delightful DP (retired)

And it's already gone out in the mail!

Dandelions!

Good morning! Today I have a new scrapbook layout. This is for a challenge I issued, to use flowers in your layout, and since I wanted to play with current product at least once this week, hahaha, dandelions it is!
The photos were taken and printed in 2011, so it was good to get this scrapped!

Supplies:
Paper: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Bumblebee
Accessories: Dandy Wishes dies, Bumblebee 1/4" ribbon (retired)
Font: Pea Quinny

Our town's name starts with the letter P, so there is a big rock/plaster P on the hill overlooking the town. Every couple of years, the high school with the same name has seniors go up and repaint it. I know there are many communities in Utah and Arizona with the letter of the town, college or high school over looking the area, but this was the first time I ever hiked to one of the letters.
Is that a thing in your area of the world?

Floral Thanks

Today's card uses some newly retired items, but it was for a challenge so its fine, haha. Actually, I figured that since the SUO Color Challenge used two newly-retired colors I'd go ahead and use my favorite newly-retired stamp set too. And I used it my favorite way- to just stamp the whole panel! I combined it with the sketch from Just Add Ink

Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies (retired)
Ink: Highland Heather, Old Olive, Misty Moonlight, Rococo Rose (retired), Seaside Spray (retired)
Paper: Basic White, Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray (retired) card stocks
Accessories: Blender Pen, Dimensionals

Honestly, I don't love the way I added a bit of Seaside Spray ink between the flowers. I used a Blender Pen and the ink pad, but it didn't work how I'd envisioned it. Oh well. I think it still turned out pretty and I think I know exactly who I'm going to send it to!

What are you making this week??

Scrapping Prom!

I'm still working on scrapbooking, so that's what you get to see!

This is a combination set. I printed photos and traditionally scrapped the first three pages, but the fourth page had to be digital, because the photos were texted to us... It was a looot of effort, but also a lot of fun having a girl get ready for a dance! A friend asked her and it was the first date for all four of these kids, thankyoucovid. It was also the first dance our school has had since the world shut down- We shut down on a Friday and they went ahead with the dance that Saturday evening...

I fussy cut flowers out of the super cute True Love DP, found in the mini catalog. I colored them with the just-retired Purple Posy marker, Pear Pizazz marker and the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend.

Supplies:
Stamps: Whimsical Upper Alphabet, Whimsical Numbers (long retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Purple Posy marker (retired), Pear Pizazz marker, Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Purple Posy (retired) card stocks, True Love DP
Accessories: Black Vintage Crochet Ribbon (retired)

And here's some closeups for you!

And this one (below) was made in MDS, haha!

and a close up of those pretty flowers!!
What are YOU making this weekend?

Preschool Field Trip x4

Saturday was, apparently, National Scrapbooking Day. Did you know? haha... Scrapping is my first love, papercrafting-ly, so I made a point to get some scrapping done.
Even tho this scrapped event is "retired products central", I'm sharing it. It uses a fun color combination that ends TODAY. Crumb Cake & Terracotta Tile!

Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Fall Ya'll, Crayon Fun Alphabet Lower (both released in 2002)
Ink: Memento Black, Terracotta Tile,
Markers to color the scarecrow: Terracotta Tile (leaves, bird), Misty Moonlight (overalls),Bumblebee (hat, grass), Just Jade (patches), Cinnamon Cider (posts), Soft Suede (face), Crushed Curry (shirt), Rich Razzleberry (patch, bird)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Terracotta Tile, Basic White
Accessories: Neutrals Buttons, Glue Dots

The idea came from a challenge to use one or more of something. Clearly I picked buttons. There are 13 very old buttons on that layout.

And tomorrow the new catalog releases!! Are you excited? Let me know if you need a copy of your own!

We Create Blog Hop: Technique Toss-up

Hello and happy Saturday! Can you believe it is already May?? Because I cannot! Summer is on it's way!
Today we've got a really fun blog hop for you- we're featuring a variety of techniques and we have a new hopper joining us!

For my card today, I wanted to try the "faux patina" technique. I saw a gorgeous card in recent weeks and have wanted to try it out, but I can't find the card that sparked the inspiration! If it was you, thank you, because this was fun!! You can find a great tutorial for it HERE. I also used the latest Freshly Made Sketch, and my card works for the latest SUO Challenge too!

As a reminder, the current catalog ends May 3rd, and the new one begins May 4! That's Tuesday! All of these products are still available EXCEPT the embossing folder...but I don't own any yet that are sticking around, so this is what I used! It was still available on the retiring list when I made the card Wednesday, so hurry and snag it for your own collection!

To make this very cool background, I inked my embossing folder with Smoky Slate, then ran it thru. (I actually did it too snugly, which is why you see gray in between the trees, and that's why you want the new Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine... but I decided it was okay.) Then I sponged on Pear Pizazz and Gray Granite. Finally I randomly dabbed Versamark on it, and covered the whole thing with Silver Embossing powder. Heat set that and here we go! Shiny trees!
And here's how I used it on a card! I mounted it on a brand new In Color- Soft Succulent, for the card base. The white circle is sponged very lightly with Pear Pizazz to make it less sharp against the background. Linen Thread and Metallic Pearls might seem to be opposites but I thought they were great accessories for the deer in the forest.
Supplies:
Stamps: Nature's Beauty
Ink: Gray Granite, Pear Pizazz, Smoky Slate
Paper: Soft Succulent, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Linen Thread, Metallic Pearls, Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals, Circles dies, *Woodland Embossing Folder, *Stamping Sponges, Big Shot (retired)
*Retiring! Get them fast!

And then, a bonus! The sample I saw used my very favorite embossing folder ever, which has already sold off the retiring list. So sad...! I didn't want to feature it since you can't get it, but if you have it already, you can try this one too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Very Versailles
Ink: Mint Macaron, Cinnamon Cider, Soft Suede
Paper: Mint Macaron, Basic White
Accessories: Flowers for Every Season ribbon, Copper Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals, Circles dies, *Tin Tile Embossing Folder, *Stamping Sponges, Big Shot (retired)
*sold out....

And another angle to show off the shine a bit!
