Autumn Leaves!

As is often the case, as soon as I post about no time to stamp.....I stamp. lol. I really really wanted to play and I was somewhere between totally stumped and totally overwhelmed. And then for no reason at all, this worked together beautifully, and I love it.

I combined the SUO Challenge of "autumn", with the CAS Colours & Sketches color challenge, and The Paper Players theme to use either scarecrows or leaves! ...altho I'm not sure how "clean and simple" my card ended up...

I thought the Merry Merlot, Calpyso Coral and Mossy Meadow would make great watercolored leaves, so I inked up a block with the ink pads, spritzed a little water on it, and laid the block onto Very Vanilla card stock.

Then I die cut the leaves out of the watercolored section. I did a bit of stamping behind the leaves, which is the biggest reason I think it's not exactly clean and simple. But I like it so it's fine. haha! Everything except the card stock and ink came from the July-Dec Mini Catalog.

Supplies:
Stamps: Perched In A Tree
Ink: Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral, Mossy Meadow, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Suede
Paper: Very Vanilla & Mossy Meadow card stock
Accessories: Leaf Label & Amber Gem combo pack, Woven Ribbon, Aspen Trees Dies, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, big shot

Frontierland

Well, I am not having creative time, like I hoped, now that school has started. I feel like I'm actually busier! And more tired. But I do have a lot of Disneyland pages I haven't yet shared so there's that! I really need to finish making these pages, but in the meantime...

This is actually one of the first layouts I did of this trip. In fact, Cinnamon Cider has retired between me making this page and today, haha. But that's okay- I love using retired product on my pages!

Stamps: ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers, Yeehaw (retired! 2003)
Ink: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Cinnamon Cider (retired), Pacific Point, Real Red, Delightful Dijon (retired), Tangerine Tango (retired)
Paper: Sahara Sand card stock
Font: Giddyup Std

What are you making?

Magical Birthday

Today's card mixes old and new stamps (seriously, first time ever using that cute fairy) for a fun birthday card that has been mailed out already!
I used the color challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches, and the latest Freshly Made Sketch

Supplies:
Stamps: Scary Cute, Magical Day (retired)
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody, Polished Pink marker
Paper: Basic White, Gorgeous Grape, Polished Pink, Mango Melody card stocks
Accessories: Gingham Ribbon, Blending Brushes

This fairy is meant to be a cute trick-or-treater, from the July-Dec mini catalog, but for this image, she's just a cute fairy with a basket of sparkles! I love using products a little differently than they were intended!

Lunar New Year Parade

Happy Tuesday to you! For once, I had a relaxing long weekend, how about you?

Today I've got my newest layout for our Disney trip. I did this one in MDS, so that I could cram on sooo many pictures (we took about 100 of this little parade). We still sell both the Gold Glimmer and Red Glimmer papers tho, so if you wanted to recreate something similar, you sure could! The sketch came from HERE

Supplies:
MDS - long retired
Paper: Berry Blossoms DP, Red Glimmer, Gold Glimmer
Journaling Font: Papyrus

Also, I don't know if I've mentioned yet, but I have seen an idea to add QR codes to scrapbook pages, which take you to a video of the event. As soon as I figure out how (ha!) I'm going to add two of those beneath the title here. I think it will be really cool to be able to watch the videos of the fun things we did, while looking thru scrapbooks!

We Create Blog Hop

September already?! I really hope the weather checks the calendar so it will cool off soon...! In the meantime, we've got a new blog hop for you to enjoy!

This month we'd like to direct your attention to the July - December mini catalog. If you don't have a copy of your own, I've got it linked here on my sidebar, on the right. On page 5, you'll find the Nourish & Flourish kit that comes in an insulated canvas lunch bag! This cute kit makes 9 all occasion cards, with envelopes AND with every purchase Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to end food insecurity. I love that Stampin' Up! often has fundraiser products to help make a physical difference in this world.

Never underestimate the power your cards have to also make a difference. I promise, recipients are always so happy to get a hand-made card, and know that you were thinking of them.
Recording memories in scrapbooks is just as important. Writing your history down, and sharing the reason behind your photos will be a treasure your loved ones will be grateful to have.

For my cards today, I used the sketch from Global Design Project, and combined it with the SUO Challenge to use die cuts! I used three dies, and an embossing folder! It makes a pretty birthday card that will definitely brighten someone's day!

I actually really just wanted to play this day, so I tried a few different ways of coloring the flowers. That also shows you that you can use what you already own, or you can try something new!
This first one is just to stamp in a color of ink as always, and as soon as you do, use a Blender Pen to pull the ink into the image.

Supplies:
Stamps: Happiness Abounds
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizazz
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizazz, Basic White
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Timeworn Type embossing folder, Blossoming Happiness dies, Blender Pens

This one uses the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens.

Supplies:
Stamps: Happiness Abounds
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizazz, Basic White
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Timeworn Type embossing folder, Blossoming Happiness dies, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens

and this one uses Stampin' Blends.

Supplies:
Stamps: Happiness Abounds
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends: Dark & Light Old Olive, Dark & Light Melon Mambo
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizazz, Basic White
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Timeworn Type embossing folder, Blossoming Happiness dies

In this case, my favorite is the one with the Blends, but, I haven't invested into very many sets yet, so I don't have a huge variety. And I have a much bigger variety of colors with the pencils and way more with ink pads! Use whatever you've got and make something pretty today!

But first, click the button below to hop along over to Kimberly's blog and see what she's made for you. Then hop on thru to everyone's, and let us know what you think of our work! Happy Stamping!
