The past few weeks our house has been full of science project! The school science fair ended up a really, really big deal, as you can see below....
Alright, well maybe you can't quite tell, but that purple ribbon means he won the grand prize!!! He started off excited about the science fair in general. Then he was really excited when he figured out his experiment- to see if playing video games increases hand-eye coordination. Mostly he was excited to prove to me, the mom, that there is a good reason to play video games, haha... He got some friends and our family to participate by playing Wii Sports for 15 mins a day. And he found a simple hand-eye coordination test: to see how many cards you can catch as they are tossed at you. (playing cards, not ya know, stamped cards, *giggle, and yes, in my house that had to be specified!) Then he graphed the data and was very excited to see that -what do you know- it DOES improve hand-eye coordination!!
But then he had to write up his conclusion and make his board look good and and and...and he quit caring about it. He was really annoyed how much work he had to put into this project. The night before there was much grumbling about how it wasn't even worth the effort.
Parents weren't allowed at the school for the judging, so I got there as close to afterwards as I could, and how worth it do you think it was now? hahaha!!!
That grin stayed on his face for a day or two, and for the record, it was worth it.

Birthday cards!
My mom's birthday was this past week and this is card I made for her. I used the latest Clean & Simple sketch as the inspiration but my card turned out a bit different... I got this very cool new die I wanted to use, so I left off the strip across the middle, but I think you can still see the sketch here.
Supplies:
Stamps: Make A Cake
Ink: Basic Black, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Pool Party, Whisper White card stock, Sweet Sorbet DP
Accessories: Pool Party baker's twine (SAB14 Accesssory Pack), Basic Pearls, On Film Framelits Dies, Big Shot
When I started this blog I always shared the cards that my kids would make for people. I haven't done that in a while but this was funny to me... My son who used to loooove to stamp cards helped himself to a piece of white card stock and wrote on it, haha. But then he also made an origami grandma, to send to her, haha!
So there you go! Too bad it went in the mail late.....

Week 8!
Just a quick post for today... I got the page completed for Week 8. I love that I'm staying on top of it, haha! It was a sorta fancy, super exciting week, so I dolled the page up a little, tee hee.
Also, I used one of the challenges from the Virtual Scrapbooking Night, to recreate a page you've already made. I based this page off of the first page you can find HERE. But since this is a 12x12 page I was able to easily fit on a journaling box for the purposes of this project. *grin

New Toys!
Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was enjoyable! We had a kind of lazy Saturday and then a fun date night! Sunday I had a migraine but I think I'm past it, so here I am stamping!
I just got a new stamp order and I was excited to have some play time! I used a brand new stamp and ribbon for this card, along with the Retro Sketch 101. I went for a spring look and it sure seems like a lovely spring day outside at my house! {that's not 100% good, we really need the snow that so many other states are getting too much of, but I'll take the clear blue skies any day!}
If you look really closely, you might notice the open part of the card behind...yeah, I made this card upside down or backwards, haha. The first time I stamped the hexagon and greeting, it got smudged AND it was too high to put the ribbon on...so I flipped it, haha!
But its okay, I have just the friend to send it to, who will completely understand the wackiness we sometimes find ourselves in, haha....
Supplies:
Stamps: Hardwood, Summer Silhouettes, Six Sided Sampler
Ink: Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock
Accessories: Natural Chevron Ribbon, Dimensionals

Week 7
Happy, happy Friday!! My favorite day of the week!
Today I've got my page for Week 7 done. Its packed and yet simple... I think I'm going to make a Valentine page in addition to this, but in the meantime, this covers it the whole week, mostly the day itself, haha....
Supplies:
MDS, Red Glimmer DP, Lemonade Stand content disk, punches
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you back on Monday!

Banner Birthday
Happy Thursday to you! I am sure looking forward to the weekend, lol! I know we had a long one last weekend, but losing Monday threw me off all week- I kept thinking we had another day for everything! Who knew Monday's were so critical to my mental schedule? haha... But the science fair project is done and awards will be announced later today and we can go from there, and hooray for that!
Anyway, here's a fun card I made using the latest Nacho Average Challenge. I started this card with a specific person in mind, but now I'm thinkin it's not so much for her but perfect for someone else. Funny how that works...
Supplies:
Stamps: Banner Greetings (Hostess), Perfect Pennants
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Silver Glimmer DP, I Am Me DP
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, White Stitched Grosgrain, Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die
And I'm sorry the colors are a bit washed out- the sun is out, the sky is clear and its a fantastic day! Just...not for taking photos of pale paper...haha...I don't care- I need some sunshine and now I'm going to see what I can do to enjoy it! *grin

Double Retro
I got to stamp! I had written out the sketches I typically use, and then while my son was using the computer for his science project (and Dad was helping), I managed to put two cards together! They use the same sketch (Retro Sketch #102) but I had a lot of ideas for it, so here are two!
First I used a fun DP print for the largest area.

Week 6!
Hello again! It feels like its been a really long time, or maybe I've just been that busy! We had a long weekend with Valentines and then off Monday for President's Day and now we're finally settling in to the week...! For now I have a new weekly page to share and a goal to get a lot more done for the next few weeks, haha!
I went looking on Pinterest for a sketch that had room for 7 photos on a single page, and I found the second one HERE. I changed up the photo-less boxes a bit because I apparently had a lot to say this week, but I think the basic sketch is definitely still there.*smile I used a monochromatic color scheme to go with my outfit in the pic of my husband and I. How's that for vanity? giggle...
Supplies:
MDS: Mocha Morning DP, recolor tool, Sale-A-Bration 2012 disk, punches

A Printed Album!!!
I haven't gotten to post as often as I'd like- I've been really busy this week. I've got some projects in the house I'm working on and not had stamp time. That drives me crazy, but you know how life gets sometimes... So now we'll switch holidays, and here's a post that I typed up, but never went live during the holidays....!
Remember the print discounts Stampin' Up! had in November? I totally took advantage of that and one of the things I got printed was this album:
If you go back to my posts from December 2009 and January 2010 (seriously) you can see that I had just gotten the MDS software for Christmas and put together a December Daily album with it.
(each day in December I took a picture -or 10- and took notes on how we spent the day! Then once I had the program on my computer I put it all together in a book)
Now we finally have this fun little book sitting on the shelf to be enjoyed! These pages are absolutely the most basic digital pages I have done (haha) but I'm so glad we have this!
Its an 8x8 book and it's really nice quality. I've seen scrapbooks printed with other companies and the pages have come loose and other issues have come up. My books from Stampin' Up! don't seem to have the same problems, Yeay for that! *grin
The only print issues I've seen are from my end- this was my biggest MDS learning curve, for sure! haha!
Supplies:
MDS- only the items that came with the program! :

A birthday card!
Last week I needed to make a card for a good friend's birthday! I think purple is probably her favorite color (we never ask that anymore once we grow up, lol) but the gift I got was a relaxing bubble bath that was almost exactly Island Indigo. She owns the Summer Silhouette stamp set so I like to show another idea for it. I also wanted to grunge up the card, haha, because she is not confident in her grung-ing skills. :)
I used the latest Freshly Made Sketch for this card and even tho they like a clean look (and this card is clearly not) I'm quite happy with how it worked out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Simply Sketched, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky
Paper: Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder & Very Vanilla
Accessories: Soft Sky seam binding ribbon, Big Shot, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

I Lava You!
As soon as the current catalog arrived, I knew I was getting the set Crazy Mixed Up Love! Pretty sure there was gasping and squealing when I saw the lava lamp stamp!
Quick back story:
When my husband and I got married, we got at least two of the same jokey card with gifts- It showed a couple having unwrapped all sorts of silly gifts and he's opening another and shouting something like "cool! A lava lamp!" and she's got her hand to her forehead, totally annoyed with the pile of things. Then you open the card and it says something about "when the groom registers for gifts". This was doubly funny to us because a- when we registered for gifts he insisted we get squirt guns, haha, and b- * I had asked for a pink lava lamp for Christmas when I was 16 and we still have it! For real! My pink lava lamp is on our headboard, running right now!
Of COURSE I was going to get the stamp set with the lava lamp!!!
And of course I was going to color it pink!
But since this is one of the cards for my Valentine class, maybe you'd prefer the blender, which uses the same two markers and the paper is the same size. Handy, huh? I love the ruffle ribbon and the sparkly paper to go with Valentines too! What do you think?
Supplies:
Stamps: Crazy Mixed Up Love
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Smoky Slate markers
Paper: Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush & Whisper White card stock, Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Strawberry Slush ribbon

Hanging Banners
I found this card on pinterest, and then visited the blog shown in the watermark. Wow, she has lots of very cool projects- more than one that I'd already pinned, haha!
Anyway, I loved this idea and made it a valentiney card, for my upcoming class!
I also made a friend option, incase you don't want so many Valentine cards! :) For the 'friend' card, I thought the hanging towel look suited this word stamp, haha.
and here they are side by side! The banner stamps, the punch, and the DP all are Sale-A-Bration items, so if you want them, don't miss out! :)
Supplies:
Stamps: Banner Blast (SAB14), Crazy Mixed Up Love, Creative Elements
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe
Paper: Coastal Cabana & Whisper White card stocks, Sweet Sorbet DP (SAB14)
Accessories: Banner Punch (SAB14), Hung Up Cute Clips, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

A new sketch!
Same apology as posted Friday about the foggy, gray skies affecting the quality of my pictures...I tried the two brightest spots in my house and got very yellowy pictures...blah!
Its a new-to-me challenge blog that I took this sketch from. I tried the Paper Players site and this was their current sketch!
This is the card I demonstrated at my workshop Thursday. I liked that I was able to feature so many products and create something so cute! This project features the main Catalog, but was also inspired by the Sale-A-Bration brochure. If you've looked at it, you know that Stampin' Up! has suggested bundles to help you reach your $50 requirement, and the bundles work well with specific Sale-A-Bration freebies. One of them used the Tag A Bag items, found on page 158 of the catalog, so I thought I'd share an "out of the box" way to use some of those same items! I have two tags on this card, and the Bakers Twine that come from the Tag A Bag Accessory Kit!
Supplies:
Stamps: Lots of Thanks, Summer Silhouettes
Ink: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green & Crushed Curry markers
Paper: Primrose Petals, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Tag A Bag Accessory Kit (green stripe tag, sentiment block, twine), Regals Candy Dots, Dimensionals

Blog Hop: Sale-A-Bration!
Welcome to our February Blog Hop!!!
Most of you know that Sale-A-Bration began this past week, and that is Stampin' Up's biggest promotion of the year! There are 13 fun items to choose from, FREE (with a $50 purchase or $400 workshop) and who doesn't love that?? This year, you can choose from 4 stamp sets, a punch, 2 digital content disks, an embossing folder, a card kit, a treat giving kit, an accessory package, some Designer Paper, and a banner kit! In honor of this exciting time, we thought this month we would use some fun Sale-A-Bration products in our blog hop projects!
First up, I have the scrapbook page I demonstrated at my workshop Thursday evening! I demonstrated the first page and had the second page ready to show with it. This features mostly Sale-A-Bration products, with a few other things to note... The DP, and the smaller banners come from Sale-A-Bration- that's the punch and the stamp set. The tiny black pennants come from a photopolymer stamp set! And the Chevron Punch was in the Holiday Mini and carried over to the Occasions Mini!
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Basic Black
Paper: Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White card stocks, Sweet Sorbet DP (SAB14!)
Accessories: Banner Punch (SAB14!), Chevron Punch, Pennants Die, Big Shot, Dimensionals
Next, I wanted to let you know that thanks to being a Demonstrator and getting to pre-order products, I've actually been showing off stuff from Sale-A-Bration since December! The row of little black flowers in my blog banner? That's from the Sale-A-Bration content disk! Remember the calendars I made for Christmas? Here is the cover which I never shared, and check out those fun banners!!
If you're dying to know, everything else I have made with the new Sale-A-Bration products can be found right HERE!
Now go check out Cheryl's blog and see what she made with the Sale-A-Bration items! (and give her a big welcome, she's new to our hop!)
Be sure and leave comments as you stop by all of our blogs- we love hearing what you think of our projects!
