Weekly Pages Again!

Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a relaxing weekend!
I *almost forgot I was doing weekly scrapbook pages! haha...I am weeks behind, but here are two recent weeks completed! Both are very simple pages, but the focus here is definitely the photos and the story of our lives. Interesting that both pages ended up with 8 photos, haha...

On this one I was playing with my newest downloads...I have wanted the Vintage Overlays forever and finally added it to my order. No idea what took me so long... And I used two on this page, plus the Mis-Stitched stitching.
Supplies: MDS: A Split Second (smile), Mis-Stitched download, Vintage Overlays,
Font: Cinnamon Cake

This page stayed pretty clean, I had a lot to talk about this time, haha...and the color combination came straight from MDS.
Supplies: MDS: Petal Parade-2014 SAB content (scallops), Texture overlay
Font: Bradley Hand

What are you going to make this week?

A Baby Card

Today I have the last card from the classes this week! Again, for this class, I wanted to focus on all new products. I have the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set, but I was stuck for a while as to how "everyone" can use it, since I like my classes to be as universally applicable as possible! And then I figured it out- a baby card with the blocks! Yeay! And the In Colors from last year work perfectly for this sweet card! What do you think?
Supplies:
Stamps: Boys Will Be Boys, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar markers
Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Arrows Embossing Folder, Neutral Buttons, White Baker's Twine

A Court of Honor!

I have another scrapbook page for you today! I am loving digital scrapbooking right now, can you tell? Did you enjoy the "break" from pages with some cards? I'm hoping to mix things up in coming weeks and not lean too heavily to pages or cards...haha...we'll see how it goes!
This time I used the current MDS Monday sketch, and the challenge with it was to wrap the text around the photos. I used that method of journaling a lot on paper pages a few years ago, but had no idea how to do it in MDS until now! (seriously- check out all the tutorial videos and techniques sometime! So many cool things we can do!!)
Supplies:
MDS: Extreme Elements stamp, Brads, Days to Remember DP, Freeform Lines
Font: Artistamp, Throw My Hands Up

I like the scattered accessories look. *grin. Also, for the title, I copied and pasted the title and turned the top one Old Olive to match the photo mats and the brads. Just another cool technique!

Sympathetic Flowers

Here is another card from this month's class. This time I used a Viva La Verve sketch, and I kept to the newest In Colors. That's all that is "new" for the card, but I'm okay with that. *grin
I thought the rich colors and the flowers worked well for a sympathy card and its always a good idea to have those on hand, so that's the word I used.
 Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Whisper White & Blackberry Bliss card stock
Accessories: White Organza Ribbon

Butterfly Grunge

Back to the workshop last week...
Thursday's hostess has a bright, fun personality so I wanted the make & take to be something that suited her. I used last week's Clean & Simple sketch and this is what I came up with!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Papillion Potpourri, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry & Melon Mambo
Paper: Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stocks, Sweet Taffy DP
Accessories: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals, Brights Candy Dots

We started with the two splats in Daffodil Delight, but the smaller splat I stamped off once for a paler shade. The larger splat was stamped twice and the smaller three times. Then the little dots were stamped once in Old Olive. I punched out the detailed butterfly and popped him up on Dimensionals. Then we added two Bright Candy Dots of their choice. And there you have it!

A Nautical Card

for your Monday morning!

Today is the first of my fall classes, and I'm featuring products from the new catalog (since I haven't done any classes since it came out!). This card uses the Freshly Made Sketch, and the Maritime DP, and this sa-weet ship! As much as I love ships and nautical paper, I think my favorite is the three brads in the corner, haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Smoky Slate & Whisper White card stock, Maritime DP
Accessories: Silver Mini brads, Mat Pack

Workshop Demo & Sneak Peek!

Happy Friday to you! Yeay for weekends!
Last night I had a workshop, with a hostess*! That's always a fun way to spend a couple hours! This is the card I demonstrated, to feature the Blendabilities. I used them to color the flowers and stems, but also the pearl!! How fun is that?!
AND this same card is going to be part of my upcoming September classes! So here's your sneak peek! I also used the current Retro Sketch for the layout, even tho I tipped the card base to fit the large image...
and, ignore the flaws...things happen when you're rushing at the end of a long day, giggle...
Supplies:
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies
Ink: Memento Black, Blendabilities: Old Olive, Calypso Coral
Paper: Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Whisper White card stocks, Park Lane DP
Accessories: Basic Pearls

*That doesn't happen nearly often enough! Want to volunteer? I would love to do a workshop at YOUR house with YOUR friends and you can keep the FREE hostess benefits with $150 or more in sales!

Sisters!

I wanted to get this page up for the MDS Monday challenge of the week...and I'm kinda getting it in under the wire, because I have another post for Friday...but I have been working on this page since Monday, and since I just finished it, I have to share!
...is that the longest sentence I have ever blogged, because it kinda feels like it!
This week, MDS Monday had a really great layout, and a challenge to use all white or just one pop of color. I decided I needed color, but went with a really pale shade, and I love how the page turned out!
The hardest part I had with this page was finding anything with only one photo to scrap...wow, I don't do that! haha! I take TONS of pictures, if I'm going to take pictures... But this 'selfie shoot' with my sister was a time I could just choose one photo and make it work. And here you have it!
...I think I'll lay off the pale pink for a while now...you're welcome!
Supplies:
MDS: Burlap Ribbon download, Delicate Doilies stamp, Button Bouquet, Lemonade Stand content (pearls)

Anniversary Getaway

I tend to get most excited about the newest photos and that is just one more reason I love MDS- I can make a page out of photos as soon as I take them, haha!
So the other night I spent a while scrapbooking our fun little getaway!

Page one comes from a layout I liked on Pinterest HERE.
And page two came from the the first page on Pinterest HERE.
 And here they are together!
Supplies:
MDS: Lemonade Stand content disk (stamps & stitching), Ink Splatters, Scallop Square punch, Square punch, Circle punch, Moments Ago stamp (you&me), Staples, Keep In Touch content (DP)
Fonts: Throw My Hands Up

Something else...

(I have no idea what is going on with the text in this post...I've tried a few times and can't fix it- sorry!) At church I have been over the twice-a-month activity for the 8-11 year old girls. I put a fair amount of effort into last week's activity so I'm blogging about it here. Also, at the moment, its the most creative thing I have to share, haha...

First of all, we've been working on compliment papers...we've had a few activities where we've discussed showing love and respect to everyone around us. The first time we held this activity we shared a poster with the word THINK going down the side- and then from each letter this:

T: is it TRUE?
H: is it HELPFUL?
I: is it INSPIRING?
N: is it NECESSARY?
K: is it KIND?

and we shared this video:

Then, we had typed up all the girls names onto their own sheets of paper, and asked the girls to write compliments for each other, and emphasized how nice it will be for everyone to have a sheet of compliments to read on those lousy days we all have.
Well last week we finally got those finished up (enough girls attended to fill up the papers) and each girl got to take them home!
*some girls understood the concept better than others, lol...some girls just wrote "you're nice" or sweet or pretty or kind...on every page, haha...

This week the main focus was to encourage a great reading list for the school year! I brought these books to display and suggest:

But I started with the scriptures! I had one girl read Doctrine & Covenants 88:118 which says "And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith."
and then Doctrine & Covenants 109:7 repeats the same thing.
Then, we read Moroni 10:3-5 and discussed the BEST BOOK and the fact that we are all now old enough to read this one.

Then, I handed them papers cut to bookmark size. On one side they could write down the title of any book that sounded good to them, for a new reading list! On the other side, they used letter and flower stickers which we already had, to decorate how ever they wanted.

Each girl was supposed to bring "her favorite book" to share with the other girls as a suggestion, and most of the girls who came had a book to share. (you can see my 'display' behind them)

Then they got a hand out that says this:
Then, since things got changed up around here, haha, (and we didn't have more than 5 treats all year) they all got a Hershey kiss "goodbye"!

I {heart} Lunch Dates!

Whoa- a whole week since I last posted! Yes, I really am that busy, darnit! I'm trying to find time to create - I've even pulled out all my stamping supplies...only to put it all back two hours later! But I did squeeze in some time to play with the MDS Monday sketch for the week...it just took me three sittings to get it done! There were about twenty different directions my brain went with things "I love", and this is what I settled on. I just might revisit it later with a different theme!
It's a pretty "clean" layout and I ended up really liking the colors I used! But I think my favorite part is how I did the "lunch dates" title!
*Also, a tip! If you're trying to think of something specific, use the MDS search feature!! I looked for all the hearts I had and chose my favorite!
Supplies:
MDS: Stamps: Schoolbook Serif ABC (i), Greatest Moments (circle words)
Punches: Mini Flag Banner, Small Heart (resized!), Square
Accessories: Candid Frames
Recolor Tool (background DP)
Century Gothic font, French Script font

Fifteen

This week is my 15th wedding anniversary! My husband and I got to take a little getaway, while my awesome mom stayed with our kids. I started this page a couple weeks ago, thinking it would be a fun idea, and impatiently waited for a picture of us on our anniversary, lol! The photos go in order around the edges and spiral around...sort of, haha! and they are every year, as close to our anniversary I could find. (can't find it every year, and its funny to me how many times the kids are in the picture!) and the fun number stamps come from a Christmas countdown digital kit. I like how they're all a little different!
Supplies:
MDS: Lemonade Stand (background), Happy Hello (twine & rhinestones), Bliss stamp set, Flirtatious (yellow DP) Glimmer DP, Days in December stamp set, Christmas Jingle stamp set (2009), Flag Punch

MDS: Project Life Style!

This week's MDS Monday challenge was to design a page in the style of Project Life. Goodness knows I take enough pictures- so any layout that allows for lots of photos is appealing to me, haha!
I haven't yet downloaded any of the Project Life digi products, so I created my own "cards". I used some DP (which I recolored), the coordinating ribbon and buttons, and one stamp set...whoops...two stamp sets! I also chose a font that is similar to the stamped words.
Supplies:
MDS: Always stamp set, Sycamore Street DP, Buttons, Ribbon, Recolor Tool

If you'd like more information about the above photos, feel free to read HERE.

Blog Hop: Using Our Words!

Welcome back to another fun blog hop!
Words are powerful, aren't they? I've actually thought about that a lot lately...with all sorts of things in my life. And it fits our September Blog Hop theme perfectly because today we are using our words! Our stamped words! I have a few word sets and I wanted to feature as many as I could, haha.....

This one might be my favorite of the bunch...or it might be too busy...but I love that DP and the colors together! For this card, I used the latest Freshly Made Sketch and I kept the words as the main image!
Supplies:
Stamps: Yippee-Skippee, Summer Silhouettes
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede & Whisper White card stocks, Park Lane DP
Accessories: Hexagon punch (to flag the end of the strip), Dimensionals

This fun and simple card uses the colors from the Nacho Average Challenge blog, but the sketch comes from the Clean & Simple blog, and yes, this sketch intended for big words to be the focal point! Perfect!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Feel Goods
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay card stock, Sweet Taffy DP
Accessories: Petite Petals Punch, Brights Candy Dots

And finally, I have a completely neutral card - I was actually picturing it differently, but this is how it ended up! haha... And I like it, so that's okay. I used a recent Retro Sketch.
Supplies:
Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers
Ink: Basic Black, Crumb Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Banner Punch, Neutral Buttons, Linen Thread

So here you have seen three different word stamp sets in action. There are so many more! If you turn to page 245 of your newest catalog you might find a surprise, certainly those who haven't made their catalogs all dog-eared like mine is, haha! This year Stampin' Up! provided a photo index of ALL the word sets in the catalog! (the ones that are all words or very close to it) How handy is that? No matter what kind of event you're creating for, you can flip to the back and see exactly which set to use- or order!
And right now- anyone who hosts a $300 workshop before Oct 31st, will get the limited time Good Greetings stamp set!
How's that for a complete set of words?! And you can only get it FREE, for hosting!

Now go see Cheryl's word creations and hop thru the rest of the blogs and see how our Words inspire you!
