Father's Day 2018

I have some scrapbooking for you on this chilly Friday morning.
Today's page was made the same day as the Mother's Day page, and it exceeded my January goal so that is exciting! Another pretty simple layout, but again, I think it turned out pretty cool! And, again, the only retired product is the alphabet set! That's exciting too!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sailing Home, Just Perfect Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Cinnamon Cider, Pretty Peacock marker
Paper: Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray
Accessories: Metallic Pearls

Rainy Love

'tis the season for making cards of love and this is my first one this year! This might be my favorite stamp couple ever, and this time I put them with a sun shining thru a rainstorm.... And just like yesterday, I used a LOT of different products on this card, haha.

For my card, I used the Color Combination from splitcoaststampers.com, the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches, and the theme from SUO Challenges

Supplies:
Stamps: Silhouette Scenes, March 2020 Paper Pumpkin (rain drops)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Memento Black
Paper: Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Wink of Stella Pen, Stamping Sponges, Well Written dies, In The Woods dies (hill), Circle dies, Big Shot (retired)

and here's a close up so you can see the Wink of Stella a bit clearer...
Have you started making valentine cards yet? It's getting close!!

Fussy Cut Flowers

The cards I made today used a LOT of product, haha.... Usually I stick to one stamp set and maybe it's coordinating dies. That's a lot less overwhelming if you're new and looking in to creating with me. Today I just used a bunch of different things!
I also combined challenges... I used the colors, plaid and flowers from Global Design Project to CASE the designer, and I used the Mojo Monday sketch for my card. And! I know exactly who it is going to!

Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies, Well Said, Buffalo Check
Ink: Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather, Basic Gray, Misty Moonlight marker
Paper: Whisper White, Highland Heather & Misty Moonlight card stocks
Accessories: Well Written dies, Tin Tile embossing folder, Seaside Spray ribbon, Wink of Stella pen, Glue Dots, Fine Tip Glue Pen, big shot (retired)

And for further details, I have Wink of Stella on the flower centers, for the silver in the sample card. I used the straight edge from my Big Shot to draw the lines to make the background more "plaid".

Mother's Day 2018

I hit my January scrapbooking goal today with this page!
I had forgotten that these pictures were printed and I decided to use my current favorite floral stamp set to make this page. It's simple but I think it turned out pretty. And strangely, for scrapbooking for me, the only retired product here is the alphabet set! Hooray!

Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies, Taffy Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz, Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow marker
Paper: Petal Pink & Whisper White
Accessories: Basic Pearls

Celebration!

I needed to make a card to congratulate a new friend and I liked these rich shades for winter, plus the cozy looking DP to soften it. It was a quick card but I am very pleased with it. I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps for the design. And the exact same DP from yesterday as well as the Vanilla card stock that was already out. Because I can! haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Field of Flowers
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Very Vanilla, Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry card stocks, In Good Taste DP

Best Donkey

Happy Monday to you! Ready for another week?
I needed a thank you card and I wanted to feature something from Sale-A-Bration, so this is what I made! I used the Mojo Monday sketch, and the TGIF challenge to use a background stamp, and ended up with a lot of texture on a card with no actual dimension, haha. Whoops, I lied... the donkey is popped up on Dimensionals. But the rest of the texture is visual. I love that this DP makes it so easy!
Supplies:
Stamps: Darling Donkeys, Buffalo Check background
Ink: Cinnamon Cider, Gray Granite, Crushed Curry marker, Just Jade marker
Paper: Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla card stocks, In Good Taste DP
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Circle Dies, Big Shot (retired)

If I'd thought ahead, I would have used Bumblebee instead of Crushed Curry, and then the colors would have all been in the same marker pack, but I didn't, lol. And it worked out anyway. I'm sure there's some Monday wisdom in that sentence....

Cool Down Scrapping

Happy Thursday! Today I've got another scrapbook page. The DP and all accessories have retired, but the colors are current. For this layout, I used the EMS 97 Sketch Challenge, altho I did switch it up just a bit to keep the photos more "in order".

Supplies:
Stamps: ABC Alphabet Upper (retired)
Ink: Gorgeous Grape
Paper: Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, How Sweet It Is DP (retired)
Accessories: Spiral Punch (retired), Sweetheart Punch (retired), Glitter Enamel Dots (retired), Brights Buttons (retired)

And here are a couple closeups...
I think the best trick to making a title work is to deliberately not line it up, haha! Then it's fine, no matter how it turns out.

Watercolor Birthday

Well, more a watercolor wash, but that's okay. Today's card is a fun one. I combined the sketch from Global Design Project, along with the color challenge from The Paper Players and made this fun, happy card!
I brushed water across the top of the white card stock, then added some color from the Blackberry Bliss ink pad, starting at the top and working down. Then I flipped it over and did the same thing with the Misty Moonlight.
Supplies:
Stamps: Well Said
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight
Paper: Bumblebee, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Bumblebee In Color Ribbon, Well Written dies, Metallic Pearls, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Glue Dots, Big Shot (retired), paintbrush

Hot Chocolate!

This morning I looked up a bunch of challenge blogs I enjoy, gathered supplies and eventually, haha, had some time to put one of the cards together! For this one, I used the Fusion challenge, with both the sketch and the inspiration photo.
I thought it was funny that I had grabbed the Buffalo Check background stamp without even really noticing that there was a a black and white buffalo check table cloth in the photo! I just really liked how the plaid DP that retired Jan 4 looked so good with these cups, and I tried for a different style "blanket". I stamped it on an angle, and snipped around the edges (which I don't think I'll do again, haha) to make it look fringed and add some cozy texture.
Mine is obviously a mug of hot chocolate, and the cup is "colored" with Wink of Stella, even tho you can't see it. And the inside, which I forgot to photograph and the sun is long gone, says "because adulting is hard". mmhmmm!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Nothing's Better Than, Buffalo Check background
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Love You More Than dies, Flowers For Every Season ribbon, Metallic Pearls, Wink of Stella, Fine Tip Glue Pen Circle dies (retired), Big Shot (retired)

And! This card is going out in the morning!
Have you sent a card this month? Send some!

Retired Scrapping!

The newest thing on this page is the photos, which are from Halloween 2018, haha! Oh, the inks are all current...
After reading, and then watching, The Outsiders in her English class, my daughter wanted to be a greaser for Halloween. Trouble was, she's tall, she was probably a bit "too old" for trick or treating, and she sure didn't look dressed up! lol.... Oh well. I picked some "edgy-er" looking things for this layout, rather than just using Halloween supplies. She's excited and that is the part that matters.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sparkly Seasons (retired), Gorgeous Grunge (retired)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Granny Apple Green, Memento Black
Paper: Smoky Slate & Basic Black card stocks, Halloween Night DP (retired), Sweet DP (retired!)
Journaling Font: Chiller

Old Scrapping

Happy Saturday! I hope you've got some plans for a nice weekend!

This week I also managed to get a little scrappy time in! Last year's scrapping was almost entirely for my son, and a little bit for my youngest because if I was spending that much time working on scrapbooks instead of playing with her or reading to her, she wanted new pages too, lol. That meant my middle child was pretty much ignored in my scrapping last year, so this year I started with her! These photos have been printed so long, (they were taken in 2010!) they were curling along all the long sides, making the picture even more difficult to look right. But hey, it's done!

I mostly followed EMS Sketch 95 from Cheryl for the layout, and I made my own DP for the two sections. I used two markers for the circly elements, and a very old alphabet for the title. Added a few pearls and called it good!

Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely You, Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Melon Mambo/marker, Purple Posy marker
Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Basic Pearls

Birthday Flowers

Continuing on with my plan to mail out more cards, I wanted to use this pretty flower again. I loved it stamped directly onto this DP for my Jan 1 blog hop, so I tried it again with a different sheet and different flower colors. I even know exactly who they're all going to! Love that!!

This time I'm using the SUO Challenge, to simply make something new! I also borrowed Christy's idea to color the fussy cut flower with Wink of Stella. I was excited it shows up at least a little on all three cards!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Crushed Curry, Just Jade, Pretty Peacock
Paper: Whisper White, In Good Taste DP
Accessories: Flowers for Every Season ribbon, Wink of Stella Pen, Glue Dots, Iridescent Pearls (retired)

And another color combo...
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Pretty Peacock
Paper: Just Jade, In Good Taste DP
Accessories: Flowers for Every Season ribbon, Wink of Stella Pen, Glue Dots

and still another!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Crushed Curry
Paper: Melon Mambo, In Good Taste DP
Accessories: Flowers for Every Season ribbon, Wink of Stella Pen, Glue Dots

You should mail out some cards too! People really do appreciate being thought of.

Birthday Donkeys!

Last year I made 163 cards, and mailed out 136 of them. Oh, and 82 Christmas cards, haha....
and this year I'd like to do even better, and send out a birthday card to more family members and friends. I'm not always very good at that, but I've already written out a list for each month, so it should be a little easier...

I had a little time so I made this cute donkey birthday card for a cute little boy I know. I used the Color Throwdown combination and this qualifies for The Paper Players challenge to use something new! I've never used this set and it only became available to you two days ago so that's pretty new! Also it *almost qualifies for #simplestamping but I did use Blender Pens to pull the stamped color into the image, which is a super easy thing to do!
Supplies:
Stamps: Darling Donkeys
Ink: Terracotta Tile, Early Espresso
Paper: Terracotta Tile, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Blender Pens

What do you think of my happy, celebratory donkeys? haha....

Santa 2018

During 2020, I got 207 scrapbook pages made and two mini books. I am looking forward to continuing that momentum!
So here is the last page I made last year, using all retired product, lol, but hey! It's done and in my daughter's book! The pictures are darker than I'd like, but maybe I can improve on my photo editing skilz this year too. I didn't actually take the darker photos, but I still could have tried to fix it.
Supplies:
Stamps: Project Life Hello Dec 2016 (retired)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Dark & Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends, Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock, Night Before Christmas DP (retired)
Accessories: Mini Glue Dots, Olive Baker's Twine (from a PP Kit) (retired), Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack (card & stickers) (retired), Hello December PL Accessory Pack (sequins) (retired)

This page was actually for a Stashbuster Challenge, and I used paper tearing, a tag, sequins in place of glitter, and, funny enough, I intended to use the back of one of the DP strips which would have given me geometric paper, but I forgot and glued it down this way, lol!
It also fit a technique challenge to stamp on a scrapbook page. The tiny stars are stamps.
What have you made?

We Create Blog Hop: Crisp Creases

And just like that, 2020 is behind us! I hope you're ready to make the most of whatever 2021 brings! For a start, we have a great blog hop to get you creating so lets get on with it!

This month we're showing off some fancy folded projects. You might have noticed I really don't do um...anything, at all, like that. I stick to a basic, fold-in-half card, haha... So this was totally trying something new for me. I pulled up Pinterest, typed in "fun fold cards" and used THIS post as my inspiration. It really was very easy. Trim the card front at an angle, then score and fold the card front in half backwards. I used this fabulous DP rather than plain card stock, and I think it turned out really fun!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Seaside Spray, Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight
Paper: Just Jade card stock, In Good Taste DP

Here's a slightly different angle...
And best of all- this card has already been mailed off to someone special!

Now hop on over to Cheryl's blog using the button below, and see what she has created to inspire you today! Then hop on through to everyone's blog (there are only a few of us). And leave us your thoughts! Everyone loves feedback!
Then! make something of your own to share with someone! It's a great way to start off the new year!
