Wishing Well

Today I have another scrapbook layout for you, of our trip. I'm now up to 33 pages done!

I try to only share things here that I make with all Stampin' Up! products, but a friend gave me some of her crafting stash and this alphabet set (that I know nothing about) was kind of perfect for this layout. Everything else is from Stampin' Up! tho. It makes up at least 98% of my stash.
These pages are really pretty simple. Very little embellishments, really just photos and story, but sometimes you just gotta add something. Liiiike a wishing well stamp with wishing well pages...!

Supplies:
Stamps: Bright Wishes, unknown alphabet
Ink: Melon Mambo, Memento Black
Paper: Crumb Cake base, Melon Mambo mat, Whisper White card stock, Love Blossoms DP
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils
Journaling font: The Serif Hand Black

and here's a closeup of that stamping.
What are you making?

We Create Feminine Blog Hop

May already?? That means school is almost out and life is about to change up again! The best part about the first of a new month always means a great blog hop! Come see what we have for you today!
This month we wanted to focus on pretty, feminine things- maybe for Mother's Day or maybe not. I seem to constantly need birthday cards so that's the direction I took with my very pretty stone well. And I would definitely send this to a female friend or relative.
I really do love this image. Last time I used the watercolor pencils to color it. This time I used the Stampin' Blends, which are currently not order-able due to very high demand, haha, but will be available again sometime this month!
I based this card on a recent sketch from the Clean & Simple blog, but the image is pretty large and didn't quite fit the sketch. I also went with springy-summery colors...it warmed up a little too dramatically in my neck of the woods, (and then snowed again!) but I'm okay switching seasons in May, haha.
Oh, as a final note, everything you see on my blog today IS still available in the upcoming catalog! Hooray for that!
Supplies:
Stamps: Bright Wishes
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends: Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Old Olive, Dark Night of Navy, Ivory, Bronze, Color Lifter
Paper: So Saffron, Old Olive & Thick Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals

What do you think? Now hop on thru to see what everyone else made for you! It's not a long hop, but I promise you'll enjoy it. And leave us your thoughts- we all love comments!

Spotlight Watercolor

My class was last weekend and I wasn't kidding- I missed doing classes SO much!! It was such a fun night with friends! I've already shared two of the five cards we made, and here is number three!

I love this wishing well! I love it! It just turned out that it is a little tedious to color... and you never know what other people think... I thought for a long time how I could use it in a class, and I've pinned dozens of ideas and then for no reason at all I remembered an old technique- Spotlighting! I didn't find any examples of it, but this is how I did it:
First, I decided on the Viva la Verve sketch HERE. We stamped the well on Whisper White card stock in it's entirety. Then we stamped the well on a square of Shimmery White card stock (which I put on an angle) and you just color the part that you got! So quick and easy! And it was fun to show off the Watercolor Pencils!
Supplies:
Stamps: Bright Wishes
Ink: Archival Black, Calypso Coral
Paper: Calypso Coral, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Shimmery White card stocks, Delightful Daisy DP
Accessories: Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon, Watercolor Pencils, watercolor brush

Blog Hop: Stepping up a wishing well!

Another month has flown by... and a third of the summer is already over! I haven't had time to stamp the last few weeks, but that's one of the things I like best about participating in our blog hop- I have to stamp! *grin.
This month I decided to play with my newest set. This is from my second new catalog order, haha! I am a sucker for old and beautiful things like this well. I also enjoy coloring so that makes it a perfect stamp for me. Not only that, but it has words for several occasions, making it useful and versatile! I used the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the card layout. I kept both cards very similar, and literally just stepped up some details.
First, I have a very simple card. I stamped the image and colored only the flowers.
Supplies:
Stamps: Bright Wishes
Ink: Archival Black, Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Dimensionals

My stepped up version has an embossed background using the Brick Wall folder. I thought it went well with the stone well. Then I added a strip of wood DP, It is pretty hard to tell, so I added a bonus picture below, haha. And I water-colored the entire image, and it is on Shimmery White card stock, which I read is a good one to watercolor on! And it worked well with minimal buckling so I'm calling that a success!
Supplies:
Stamps: Bright Wishes
Ink: Archival Black, Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry card stocks, Shimmery White, Wood Textures DP
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Aquapainter, Big Shot, Brick Wall embossing folder, Dimensionals

And that promised close up of the wood grain paper strip
That's it for me today. Hop along to Cheryl's blog, and all the way thru and see what every one else has created for your stampy inspiration!
I really AM hoping to stamp more in the coming weeks. I really wanted to have a class scheduled by now... we'll just have to see how things go. But in the meantime, I hope YOU get some time to stamp and create!
