I finally got around to making the second of three important cards...! This one is for my little brother's surprise party his wife has been planning for over a year! Poof- he's 30! I've said it before, my birthdays are fun, but other people's birthdays make me feel old! This is one of those....
When I made this card, everything retiring (a lot!) was still available. But since it was for a surprise, I had to wait to share it, haha.... Okay, I just looked again, and the only things sticking around are the Whisper White card stock, and the Stampin' Blends! (Which are finally back in stock!!! AND! More colors are coming in the new catalog!!!) Again I say, if you love this card, order the supplies quickly! Thursday is the deadline!
Supplies:
Stamps: Magical Day (retiring)
Ink: Night of Navy, Soft Sky (retiring)
Stampin' Blends: Night of Navy Dark, Ivory, Color Lifter
Paper: Soft Sky (retiring), Night of Navy, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Night of Navy Corduroy ribbon (retiring), Big Shot, Large Numbers Framelits (retiring), Glue Dots
I even stamped the inside, which I almost never do. It's funny.... I always feel at a loss for what to write in a card, whether I have tons to say or just "happy birthday", I just get stuck. My mom was writing in cards the other day and asked what I usually say. I have no idea, but here's what I usually THINK- "I made you this beautiful card, isn't that enough? Do I have to say something too??" haha....
And bonus pic- there's the birthday boy, and me, haha....

Class of 2018
In case your world is calm and relaxed, can I just say that May is a jam-packed month for school age kids, and their parents. Between the end of year concerts and end of year projects and making sure the GPA stays up these last couple weeks...! Add to that the end of year "party" activities, and spring fever, haha, and yard work and it's just way too busy around here!
So today it finally crossed my mind that I have three cards I have to make, for big events the next few weeks. And I put the first one together within an hour of realizing that, haha!
My nephew graduates from high school next week! We live about four hours away, so a card is perfect. I wanted to use his school colors, which are gold and black, and I wanted to use a sketch. I picked the latest from Freshly Made Sketches and then fiddled with how I wanted to place the layers I'd picked. I finally decided to cut the numbers out of black card stock and then realized I like the negative piece even better, and! it fit the sketch perfectly! Voila- here's the card!
(and that is why the numbers aren't as straight as I might have done if I planned it that way, haha)
And a lot of it is retiring, so if you like it, don't miss out!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Number of Years (retiring), Teeny Tiny Wishes (retiring)
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Crushed Curry & Basic Black card stocks, Gold Glimmer DP (retiring)
Accessories: Large Numbers framelits (retiring), Big Shot, Glue Dots

Mother's Day
This is what I managed to create last week. Only two cards, and I couldn't even share them til now, haha! I used the beautiful March Paper Pumpkin to make some pretty Mother's Day cards for my mom and my mother in law.
Both cards are based on the May Viva La Verve sketch, tho with neither of them did I get it exactly right.
The supplies all come from the kit. I only added a Crumb Cake base, and Fresh Fig ink.
And here they are together:
Fun, quick and beautiful! Sometimes I really love Paper Pumpkin!

Birthday Door
Happy Friday! Got any fun plans for the weekend? We are working on the basement....and the yard....so we'll see how things end up. But for now I have a cute little card to share.
I have loved this set since the catalog was released, almost a year ago, but I only just got it. That is MY front door, and my door is red, just like the sample in the catalog shows! Of course I'm going to love it! But, the bundled price (with the dies) retires at the end of the month so I decided I'd better buy it with the discount! You can order it HERE.
For this card, I thought it worked with the latest Freshly Made Sketch. I don't own ovals, but the door is fairly centered. The Wood Textures DP, for this door is sticking around, which I am excited about. I pulled out some returning product too- that Mint Macaron is coming back with the new catalog! And, this will be part of my upcoming class.
I even stamped on the inside which I almost NEVER do!

One of a Kind kid!
I was supposed to be working on designs for my upcoming card class, but I kept getting stuck and I also kept trying to shush an idea for later. Well, when inspiration strikes, take it! So I made the not-necessary-today card first! And now I'm ready for a birthday in two and a half months! haha...
I knew I was going to have to get this set, and the DP the second I saw it. The wizard totally says "Dumbledore" to me. and my kids love Harry Potter. (they might get that from their parents...) We've had a couple Harry Potter themed parties at this house, so if nothing else, we can use this in scrapbooking. That old wizard also reminds me of Gandalf and Merlin (from the Disney classic Sword in the Stone. My mom has a knight costume set that my kids have played in, and my daughter wore a blanket pinned around her legs hundreds of times to be a mermaid. And what kid doesn't love unicorns and dragons? Yep, this was a scrapbooking must-have.
But even more than the stamp set, the DP totally got me. The little guy I punched out for this card reminds me a lot of Link, of the Zelda video games. And we have more than a couple of those games, and more than one huuuge fan in the house. Ahem. So this card, to me anyway, has Link (complete with a stick to break all the things with), a dragon for him to fight, and a perfect sentiment for my son! And two of three retiring colors he loves! BAM.
This card features a lot of retiring (and already sold out!) products but the stamps are still available! I started with the latest Clean & Simple sketch and it's not exact, but all of the elements are there...I think that kind of counts. I have all the layers, three images and the little tag of ribbon! The dragon is colored with the ink pad and Blender Pens. The little guy is punched out of the DP, and then of course the greeting is stamped.
Supplies:
Stamps: Magical Day (retiring, Bundle with dies retiring too)
Ink: Memento Black, Tangerine Tango (retiring), Lemon Lime Twist
Paper: Tangerine Tango (retiring), Dapper Denim (retiring), Lemon Lime Twist & Whisper White card stocks, Myths & Magic DP (sold out!)
Accessories: Silver Ribbon (retiring), 1 3/8 Inch Circle Punch (sold out!), Dimensionals, staple

We Create Feminine Blog Hop
May already?? That means school is almost out and life is about to change up again! The best part about the first of a new month always means a great blog hop! Come see what we have for you today!
This month we wanted to focus on pretty, feminine things- maybe for Mother's Day or maybe not. I seem to constantly need birthday cards so that's the direction I took with my very pretty stone well. And I would definitely send this to a female friend or relative.
I really do love this image. Last time I used the watercolor pencils to color it. This time I used the Stampin' Blends, which are currently not order-able due to very high demand, haha, but will be available again sometime this month!
I based this card on a recent sketch from the Clean & Simple blog, but the image is pretty large and didn't quite fit the sketch. I also went with springy-summery colors...it warmed up a little too dramatically in my neck of the woods, (and then snowed again!) but I'm okay switching seasons in May, haha.
Oh, as a final note, everything you see on my blog today IS still available in the upcoming catalog! Hooray for that!
Supplies:
Stamps: Bright Wishes
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends: Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Old Olive, Dark Night of Navy, Ivory, Bronze, Color Lifter
Paper: So Saffron, Old Olive & Thick Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals
What do you think? Now hop on thru to see what everyone else made for you! It's not a long hop, but I promise you'll enjoy it. And leave us your thoughts- we all love comments!
