Christmas Star

I've had so many different ideas with this set and I haven't gotten to use it nearly enough! So, even tho we used this at my Christmas in July card class, we're using it again at my November Christmas Card Class!
This time we're using it in red. I am not a gold person, but I love the red and gold for Christmas.
Supplies:
Stamps: Star of Light
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Real Red & Whisper White card stocks, Gold Foil DP
Accessories: Real Red ribbon, Metallic Sequins, Starlight Thinlits, Big Shot, Take Your Pick tool, Glue Dots

Mixing Old and New!

I have a customer who loves hand-stamped cards, but does not enjoy making them. That means I make them for her, haha...! That also means that she is happy to use retired product, and since I have plenty of that, I am also happy to use it up! And I like the chance to dust off old sets I loved!

I prepped seven card designs for her this Christmas, and you get to enjoy them now! (two I won't be sharing, they were designs from previous years that she had not used) Each of these might possibly use both current and retired products...I'll make a note.

This blue card was designed first and she asked for a different color combo instead. So here's the two of them together! The star and the words and the card stock are current, haha, the DP and the nativity image are retired. Which one is your favorite?
Supplies for the blue:
Stamps: Star of Light (words & star), Joyful Nativity (retired)
Ink: Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon (retired), Smoky Slate
Paper: Soft Sky & Whisper White card stocks, All Is Calm DP (retired)

Supplies for the brown:
Stamps: Star of Light (words & star), Joyful Nativity (retired)
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red, Early Espresso
Paper: Season of Style DP (retired)

This is a retake on a card I designed last year, but I like this gold-ish paper with it, so I'm sharing it anyway. It is a simple card but I think it has a big impact.
Supplies:
Stamps: Joyful Nativity (retired)
Ink: Real Red, Memento Black
Paper: Whisper White & Real Red card stocks, Season of Cheer DP (retired)
Accessories: Gold Bakers Twine (retired)

I've hardly got to touch my Paper Pumpkin kits lately, but these words come from the October kit, if you got one. If not, they were entirely sold out...
Supplies:
Stamps: October 2017 Paper Pumpkin (greeting- sold out), Winter Memories (retired)
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Soft Sky & Mossy Meadow (retired) card stocks
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon (retired)

I feel like I used a sketch for this, but I'm not sure where from... I used all my usual sketch blogs, even those that are no longer up and running, and I browsed pinterest to death sooo...if this sketch is yours, I appreciated the inspiration!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Christmas Magic (retired)
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White card stock, Holidays Fancy Foil Vellum DP (retired)
Accessories: Emerald Envy ribbon (retired)

This is a retake on another card I made last year. I really was bummed that I didn't get to use those designs- can you tell?? This is just time consuming because the wreath is two die cuts layered, so however many cards you want to make, you have to run it thru the Big Shot twice. And the cute bow is retired...
Supplies:
Stamps: Star of Light
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Garden Green card stocks
Accessories: Swirly Scribbles Dies, Festive Fireside Framelits (bow- retired), Garden Green Bakers Twine (retired)

And there you have it! Five (or six) cards to inspire you for your own last-week-before-Christmas creating! Which one is your favorite?

Star Of Light

This is a set I bought last year as a bundle and fully intended to use, but we moved in to our house the day after Thanksgiving and trying to get settled into our life here and still had such a tiny baby and it just could not happen, darnit. So this year I am going to use it up! haha! As a matter of fact, I was stuck on this card for a couple of days...I couldn't decide which die to use, which stamps to use, where exactly to use the Glimmer paper...! SO many options!

To make this card, I used the latest from Freshly Made Sketches, except that mine is a standard sized card instead of square.
Supplies:
Stamps: Star of Light
Ink: Night of Navy, Smoky Slate
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White card stocks, Silver Glimmer paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Starlight thinlit dies, Dimensionals

A Christmas Star

Hello again!

Today I have what might be my new favorite Christmas card, CASED from Patty Bennett's idea HERE!
My card is actually different than her's, in more ways than one, but in my head I was making the same card she shared... haha! For one thing, her card uses copper and mine uses silver. I started by stamping the starry swirl in Island Indigo. Then I heat embossed the small stars on the white card front, and since I have the clear stamps, I put the tiny three and the single bigger on the block together and just rotated the block. The star base is cut out of Silver Glimmer paper, and then I added the Island Indigo cardstock in the more intricate pattern. I also used two word strips to the front.

The point is, I absolutely loved her card, and I love mine too! This is going to be a fun set!! I can't wait to try other colors and die combos!
Supplies:
Stamps: Star of Light
Ink: Island Indigo, Versamark
Paper: Island Indigo, Whisper White card stocks, Silver Glimmer DP
Accessories: Starlight Thinlit Dies, Big Shot, Silver embossing powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals

Christmas Is Coming!

Happy Tuesday to you! I hope my American readers had a lovely long weekend! Mine was not exactly relaxing, but I did steal a few naps! Also, it has stopped being quite so hot, so that part was great, haha! And yesterday I got a decent amount of stamping in, and the table is still covered so I guess I'll just have to stamp some more today...!

If you've been reading my blog much this year, you know I'm expecting a baby very soon, and building a house that should be done about a month later...! So I am prepping for Christmas much earlier than usual! (For the record, that's not a bad thing, haha!) And this year I have both a mailed class planned, and am hoping, hoping, hoping for a live class very soon...!!! Which means I really need to play with my fun new Holiday Mini order! And of course that is what I did!

However, today's sample will not be featured in a class. Perhaps another variation, if I come up with something, but die cutting the stars one by one is too time consuming for a class setting. I might make a few more, because I love how it turned out, and this is definitely inspiration so that YOU can make it yourself too! *grin
I got the idea from last week's blog hop. Julie designed a wreath for one of her samples, in case you missed it.

Enough chatter- on with the card! I used two different die sets for the wreath, the greeting and the stars come from one stamp set, and then the bow comes from a set of Baker's Twine found in the Holiday Mini! The wreath itself is actually the large die, cut twice and layered. And I thought the little stars looked like poinsettias used this way.
Supplies:
Stamps: Star of Light
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Garden Green card stocks
Accessories: Baker's Twine Trio Pack (Gold & Cherry Cobbler), Swirly Scribbles Thinlit Dies, Starlight Thinlit Dies, Big Shot, Glue Dots

Expect more Christmas samples in the next few weeks! And of course I'll throw in some other events too...! haha!
