Scrapping a Picnic!

Sooo aside from my stamp blog and my food blog, I have a private family blog where I record pretty much everything. This is super handy for scrapping because I can just check dates and details... The photos I scrapped for today were taken before I started blogging....and I have been blogging since 2008... Yep, it was definitely time to get these done. And now I don't have dates and details! I am fairly certain I know which town we stopped in for this picnic, and I definitely know the trip so I can ball park the month but beyond that...uh.... hahaha!
I used the current challenge board from 123 Get Scrappy (Earth tone background, Zig Zag, Torn Corner), and plenty of retiring product to make this page.
Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful, Work of Art, Skinny Mini ABC
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White card stocks, Sweet Taffy DP
Accessories: Natural Chevron Ribbon, Dimensionals, stapler

What is retiring from today's project?
  • Skinny Mini ABC stamp set
  • Truly Grateful stamp set
  • Sweet Taffy DP
  • Natural Chevron Ribbon
  • Baked Brown Sugar ink

Blog Hop: 'tis the Season!

Happy November to you!!! That means it's time for another blog hop and this time we're doing a 'tis the season theme!

For my post, I chose to go with 'tis the season to be thankful! Thank you cards are my very favorite to make and to give. And autumn cards are my favorite to make too! You can imagine how much I like making cards in November, haha! And I love having an entire month to think of people and things to be thankful for and show our appreciation for them.
And so- here is my card for today! I used the current Freshly Made Sketch for the layout.
Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry
Paper: Whisper White, Color Me Autumn DP
Accessories: Gold Buttons, Crushed Curry baker's twine, Banners die, Big Shot

Now go see what Cheryl created, and be sure and hop thru all the blogs! We love putting these hops together for you each month!

Truly Grateful

There is a card design floating around Pinterest...this one?...and it is based upon a card in the latest demonstrator magazine. Did you know we get a magazine every other month FREE from Stampin' Up! full of ideas for us demonstrators to use in our businesses!
While I didn't get the set they featured (For All Things) I used a stamp set I have, and the same colors and accessories, to make basically the same card...I love inspiration like that!
Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful
Ink: Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry
Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Color Me Autumn Washi Tape, Gold Buttons, Linen Thread, Glue Dots

It is a no-layer card, almost entirely flat, and completely mail-able! And it doesn't look too plain!! And that is great since this is one of the cards we'll make at my Thankful Card Class next week!

Thousand Thanks

Today is the day!! Will I see you here? *grin

Here is another card to fill up my board. I would have liked the sketch better with some DP but I don't have any from the new catalog yet! That meant I had to make my own! *grin I embossed the bottom layer and stamped the Mossy Meadow layer - works well enough!
For this card I used the Viva la Verve second June sketch.
Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Arrows Embossing Folder, Hexagon Punch (for flagged ends)

CASE from the Catalog!

I'm still familiarizing myself with the brand new catalog, how about you? *grin
The other day as I was perusing I decided I was in love with the card found in the lower corner on page 153. I have the stamp set they used, so I sat down and made it! My version is different, of course, and has lots more layers than my usual creations. But I really like how it turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful, Hardwood
Ink: Crumb Cake, Hello Honey, Early Espresso
Paper: Hello Honey, Very Vanilla & Mossy Meadow card stocks
Accessories: Natural Chevron Ribbon, Honeycomb embossing folder, Autumn Accents die, Big Shot, Neutral Buttons, Staple

So first I embossed the big bottom layer. Then I dragged my Crumb Cake ink pad over it to grunge it up and give it a little more definition. Next I used Early Espresso to stamp the Hardwood stamp on the strip of Hello Honey. I stamped the wood grain image from Truly Grateful, and die cut the oak leaf with it. I die cut the big maple leaf and crumpled it and scuffed it with Early Espresso too. The greeting is stamped in Crumb Cake, and I used a tiny strip of Hello Honey in the button. Fun huh?

Truly Grateful

Again, new-to-me products for my class this week...and this one is my favorite from this class.
I used the latest Clean & Simple sketch for this one. The stamp set and the DP come from the Holiday Mini! I like how many of the current DP has a "worn" or "faded" look to the edges - makes it easier to have a slightly unique look to each card we make.

Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful
Ink: Versamark, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry card stocks, Sweater Weather DP
Accessories: Soft Sky seam binding ribbon
