A new holiday!
Yep, Valentines is coming! Such a fun holiday to create for! And plus, I really like conversation hearts. Here is my first completed project, but I have *many* to get working on. You should know, this is a packed post, so try to stay with me!
First, my card. I got this sweet image thru Wish-Rak yesterday and obviously wasted no time playing with her! I colored three of them but only completed one actual card. LOL! I also used the Whiff of Joy Weekly Challenge sketch for the design- because I had a new WOJ image, of course! The card is a 5x5 square. I think she makes a perfect lovey valentine! And the sparkle is so much fun!
Supplies:
Stamps: Holidays & Wishes, Melinda Blowing Kisses (Whiff of Joy) Ink: Black, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink & White card stocks, Loves Me DP (retired) Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, Fire Square Rhinestone Brads, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2 way Glue Pen
Now, since I'm finally getting my Valentines started, I want to remind you to head over to Julie's blog to see how to help her mom out collecting hand-made valentines for a children's hospital. I will post mine this week, I hope! Lots of blog candy available, plus brightening the day for a sick child!
Then, while we're talking about helping people out (not to mention more blog candy!) see Jen's blog for a big thing she's doing, asking for us to donate cards to international students. I'll be mailing off a few cards for her when I get Julie's valentines out...
And then just if you like blog candy, you better go over to Bev's blog and see what she has to offer. All kinds of fun things going on! Don't miss any of it! LOL!

More Christmas!
Here are just some more of the Christmas cards I've been working on. I'm not sure if its easier to do a bunch that are completely different or to do a bunch that are the same. It started out a lot of fun designing new cards around all the different challenges and sketches, but now its a little tedious and I'm not done! Hmm....
So, first I have Lauren's Saturday sketch.

I've got some cool homemade gifts I'll show in the coming weeks but one is scheduled for the 26th- it has to stay a surprise, you know! LOL!

Christmas Card Class Part B
This first card uses Ballet Blue rather than Brilliant Blue, and we used the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with a 2 Way Glue pen, instead of embossing with Iridescent Ice Powder.
This card has different card stock colors and ribbon...

Mojo Christmas Card!
Seriously, do you ever feel like you've dropped off the face of the earth?! Man! I feel like I'm running a million different directions and I haven't even done anything! So today I took my things downstairs so I could do some serious multi-tasking! I got one card done (its noon) and that's gonna be it for now.....
So this comes from Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch. I really liked this one. I had several ideas in my head for what I could do but I knew I wanted to use buttons where she had the stars. I think this card turned out really well, despite crookedness.... *wink* Sorry the picture is so dark...it is snowing today. Do Sienna's boots fit? I dunno. I doubt it. Did I wait til November to find out? Yep. Its just that kinda week, I'm tellin ya..... Anyway, can you see the detail on the buttons? I threaded thin paper strips thru the button holes. Cute, cute.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Holidays & Wishes Ink: Always Artichoke Paper: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Ruby Red card stocks Accessories: EE Brads, Fresh Fav I ButtonsFriday, October 17, 2008
Oooo purty...!
Can I say that about my own creation? Why yes, I believe I can...! LOL! Because these, I love!
So up first, a fabulous design using a set a little out-of-the-box! Think: Polar Express! This uses my new Happiness Is A Journey set (for the train, of course!) embossed in my new white embossing powder, on my new Basic Gray card stock, tied with my new White taffeta ribbon, and a greeting stamped with my new White craft ink pad! Didn't I tell you I got lots of fun stuff?!
Supplies: Stamps: Happiness Is A Journey, Holidays & Wishes Ink: Versamark, Whisper White Craft Paper: Basic Gray, Whisper White & Bravo Burgundy card stocks Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
And next we have a card using elements I have been dying to put together since I saw the catalog! This gorgeous paper (Parisian Summer) with the lovely (and SOFT!) So Saffron Poly-twill wide ribbon, and this super sweet Pocket Silhouettes stamp!!! LOVE IT!
Supplies: Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes Ink: Bravo Burgundy & Basic Gray Paper: Bravo Burgundy & So Saffron card stocks, Parisian Summer DP Accessories: Saffron Poly-twill ribbon, Clear Button, Linen Thread

Little Lamb, Birthday & Thanksgiving!
Supplies: Stamps: Pun Fun, Warmest Regards Ink: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze Paper: Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White card stocks, So Saffron Prints DP Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, Subtles Brads, Stamping Sponges, Pink Gingham Ribbon
I used Lauren's Saturday Sketch for the design behind my grandmother's birthday card. I totally cheated on that square focal point....I used my big square punch for the Pumpkin 'frame', and then used it to make reference points on the stamped paper, and then used my exacto knife to cut out the Vanilla piece with the flowers! (You get creative when you don't own all the fun tools- no second-larger square punch! LOL!)
Supplies:
Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa
Paper: Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Big Square Punch, Old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon
My final card uses a cool technique I'd never tried! The sketch is from Jen's Saturday Sketch and the reason I thought of this particular technique (Joseph's Coat) is because Andrea just did a tutorial on her blog HERE. I had to take the modifications a step further because I also do not own the brayer. My mom does...! Anyway, so here's a fancy Thanksgiving card!
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Holidays & Wishes, Canvas
Ink: More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, Ruby Red
Paper: More Mustard, Ruby Red, Glossy card stocks
Accessories: Round Tab Punch (sides trimmed off!), Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware Kit, Stamping Sponges, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
And just because inquiring minds want to know.... THIS is a heat tool.
You plug it in, heat it up for a few seconds and point at your embossing powder til it melts. Super cool technique!

September Stamp News
I feel like I am waaay late, but really, its only the 5th.... But I only just sent out my monthly newsletter today, so I thought I'd post it as well, for anyone not on my email list.
The big news for September is that you can now order the Sizzix Big Shot thru Stampin' Up! Its a die-cut machine that can cut thru just about anything you can think of. I don't know about you, but I have debated between the Cricut and the Cuttlebug (from the craft store, not thru me...) and never could make up my mind. I've done a lot of reading and I'm really thinkin' this is the way to go! Right now Stampin' Up! has 10 exclusive dies, and we also carry 29 others! Information is in the soon-to-arrive Holiday Mini Catalog, and also online at http://www.stampinup.com/
The 15% off sale is still running on the select brand new stamps! I'm hoping to get some more of those stamps in my hot little hands, they are beautiful! I can't wait to play with them!
The mini starter kits are also still available until Sept. 30. Or you can buy the standard kit and choose a bonus free stamp set! Don't miss out on this chance to start your own business - it really is as fun as it looks!
Finally, I have a Christmas card class scheduled for Saturday, October 11th. This will be a Stamp-A-Stack which means I will have five card designs and you will make five of each design, for a total of 25 cards. The fee is $15 and required no later than September 30th. When you RSVP I will get you the directions.
Quick reminder- September is a club month, and your orders are due by Monday the 15th. Also, if you aren't in the club but would to place an order, I am closing my own workshop on the 8th, or I can add you to the club order on the 15th. Be sure and let me know if you'd like a copy of the new catalog. I still sell them for only $5 or they are yours to keep free, if you host!
And here's a bonus card just for reading! haha!

Beate's Back!
So! This card uses her sketch (which she got from Jenn Balcer). I also took the colors from her inspiration piece earlier in the week. Haven't stamped much this week... So here is my autumny card!
I do like the card, tho I'm not so in love with the chocolate sponging on the circle piece. Oh well. Like the sentiment? I figured since I was using such autumny colors anyway, may as well ink up a stamp I never have used... haha!
Supplies: Stamps: Boho Backgrounds, Heartfelt Thanks, Holidays & Wishes ~ Ink: Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive ~ Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla ~ Accessories: Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon, Mat Pack, Neutral Buttons, Making Memories circle cutter thingy... ;)
