Graduation!

Here's a second layout from my scrapping night. The pics are of my sister's high school graduation, and all the nieces and nephews managed to attend! (and no I am not the shortest...the bottom right photo is my parents children. I'm the oldest, but my sis is wearing reeeally tall heels and I was in flats, lol!)
This time I used Cheryl's EMS 47 sketch as my base, but I didn't quite follow it exactly. I used three different packages of DP and I think they blended very well. I colored in the butterfly and the flowers on the retired First Edition DP, and stamped the butterflies on the current I Am Me gray chevron print DP. I love it!
Supplies:
Stamps: ABC123 Sketch, Creative Elements
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride Marker
Paper: Pink Pirouette card stock, I Am Me DP, First Edition DP (retired), Sycamore Street (retired)

Back To School!

(This originally posted too soon- sorry if this is a repeat!)

For us, school started this week....along with a sport each of my kiddos signed up for this fall, in addition to after-school language classes, scouts and church activities! Life in our family just reached a whole new level of crazy-busy!

I haven't shared a lot of MDS stuff in recent months because my laptop crashed (which is where my copy of MDS is...and the files I had half done...) but hopefully that's about to change. I just wanted to remind you that Stampin' Up! still offers new weekly downloads, including this super sweet one that I am going to get a LOT of use out of!! Little notes to tuck into lunchboxes and backpacks!
Do Your Best Printables
The information to order and download it for yourself is all right HERE. You can check out the rest of the MDS world and tons of downloads while you're there too! Find out what you can create! :)

Hiking, again.

The other day I had a migraine and slept most of the day. That meant I got nothing done...and was wired late into the night, haha. It worked out well because my husband and I needed to watch three episodes of our favorite show (ha - needed...) so I got my stamping set up and completed 1 card, 5 pages and put together layouts for 6 more! SWEET! I have projects to share with you! *grin I also dug thru my retired DP and put a decent dent into using that up, which is also worth celebrating. More room is always good, haha!
This layout uses the same photos I used in THIS post (first project there), but for a totally different look, for the other child's book! I used the very fun Parker's Patterns DP from the Spring Mini, and I love the feel it gave the pages. Plenty of room for journaling on the bottom of the second page.
Supplies:
Paper: Very Vanilla & Cajun Craze card stocks, Parkers Patterns DP (retired

Washi Tape!

This is the 4th card for my Accessories Class. Yep, this one focuses on washi tape, and throws in some Candy Dots too. I'm sure enjoying the Brights, summer is the perfect time to use them! I used the current Retro Sketch and kept it simple. I thought alternating Washi Tape prints was a fun thing for the striping. It lets the Washi Tape stand out and show off the fun patterns!
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Sketched
Ink: Melon Mambo
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Gingham Garden Washi Tape, Candy Dots, Designer Label Punch

Patriotic Page!

Happy Monday to you! Here's a new scrapbook page to start off your week! I used two different kinds of "pennants" and a softer blue (Pool Party) for my red-white-and-blue combo. I used the word print from the Epic Day DP and I've taken a bunch of photos of it and can't make it show up. You'll just have to take my word for it that on the lower pennant strips, just below the journaling, it says "courageous" which I thought was too perfect for a 4th of July page. *grin
Supplies:
Ink: Midnight Muse marker
Paper: Real Red & Whisper White card stocks, Epic Day DP
Accessories: Pennant Punch, Hexagon Punch

New Tools!

This is the 3rd design for the upcoming Accessories Card Class. I used a sketch from earlier this summer, and the Washi Tape is kind of subtle in some areas, but there you go!
Another detail to this one is that I finally ordered the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, and used it for the first time on this card. See how the pink flowers are lined up exactly the same on each stem? Cool huh?? *grin I need to play with it more to master it with clear stamps, but I think it was a good investment.
Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Midnight Muse
Paper: Island Indigo, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Gingham Garden Washi Tape

Wax Museum!

A little break today from class cards...I'm not in love with the third card so I may try something else, lol. In the meantime, here is a scrapbook layout using one of the challenges from the brand new 1-2-3 Get Scrappy blog! Incase its not obvious (giggle) I picked "hexagons, color red and brads"...but I used Candy Dots instead of actual brads...

This page is from the wax museum the school held this past spring. The kids my son's age were assigned a person from American history (alllllll over Am History) and then were supposed to memorize some facts about the person, which they would recite to anyone who asked. Parents came and then the rest of the school took turns coming in. My son was Jimmy Carter! Fortunately we had this gray suit, he had a red, white and blue tie, and we sprayed white hair spray on his much-too-long hair to make it grayish, haha! He did a great job memorizing and reciting, but his facts were mostly not true...I don't know where he got his information, they did the work during class, but he got a good grade for effort! I took a video clip of him reciting, and I need to type up what he said and add it as journaling on the second page in the white space.
Supplies:
Stamps: ABC123 Sketch
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red & Pacific Point card stocks
Accessories: Hexagon Punch, Candy Dots

and a bit of a close-up for details...You can even see the sign he made for his station!

A Doily

Remember my Stamp Set classes I was holding this spring? Where every attendee buys the stamp set and uses their own to create the planned projects? I had some requests for some Accessories Classes to teach how to best use some accessories, and then people go home with the exact accessories to continue using. I picked four accessories around the Brights Family and that's what we'll be working with!
Yesterday's card showed a fun and easy way to use the Candy Dots.
Here's the second card for this class, using ribbon and a doily.
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Sketched
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo marker
Paper: Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Melon Mambo taffeta ribbon, Tea Lace Doily

Adventures

Happy Monday evening to you! Despite a crazy-busy {exhausting!} weekend, I still managed to get some cards stamped today! Whoo hoo! Mostly I was working on my plan for my upcoming class. This is definitely going to be one of those cards.

I like the bright colors and I think it would work for an all-occasion/thinking of you or even a birthday card, especially for a boy. I made a point to use a current sketch (from the Clean & Simple blog) for today's post, so that you can play along too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Wanderlust
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Brights Candy Dots

haha, see, I knew it was good for a boy- my son was watching me write this blog post up and said "I love that card!! Now that's a creation!"

Butterfly Birthday

Happy Friday to you! Today's is a card I seriously love, so I'm glad I can leave it with you for the weekend! (I'll be a little busy...) I used a sketch from a couple weeks ago on the Clean & Simple blog. I love the neutral grays with the pop of pink, and the sparkle! What do you think?
Supplies:
Stamps: Swallowtail, Banner Greetings
Ink: Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush
Paper: I Am Me DP, Strawberry Slush, Pool Party & Whisper White card stocks, Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Brights Candy Dots, Scallop Edge Punch

Happy Scrappy Page!

Today's page is totally inspired by a kit Erica Cerwin is offering on her blog. I absolutely loved her layout!! I love the pennants on the side and the "polaroid" look the photos are matted on...I fully intend to use it multiple times, and with the gaps I have in my scrapbooking that should be no problem! haha...

The DP retired with this year's Spring Mini, and the photos are more than a couple years old, but I was glad to get it done and had a lot of fun with it too! I liked the bright colors with these photos (which are oddly blue-ish) and the chance to use up the whales with the clouds and rainbows that strikes me as a little baby-ish...maybe I covered up all the rainbows anyway, lol!
Supplies:
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White card stocks, Sprinkles & Sunshine DP
Accessories: Hexagon Punch, Brights Candy Dots

And here's a close up to see the Candy Dots; that may be a bit of a lost cause, but I like them anyway.

Happy Hello!

I love how this card turned out and it was really simple to make! I used a little bit older Retro Sketch that included this window...It would have been much easier to just make it a layer and trim off some flower, lol, but I went the hard way! I trimmed out the square using my paper trimmer, stamped the flourishes and greeting, and put the flower on a white insert sized sheet, glued to the front of the card! Yep, complicated, but simple, haha! I added a little Rhinestone to the center of the flower for a bit of somethin'. Its bright and happy and I love it!
Supplies:
Stamps: Creative Elements, Six Sided Sampler
Ink: Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Coastal Cabana & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Rhinestones

Retired Baby

That's kind of a funny title... but its accurate!
I needed a baby girl card. I don't have any current baby stamps, so I pulled out this favorite. I purchased it for my little girl's birth announcements and I've used it a lot. I figured while I was at it, I may as well use up some retired DP too, right? haha.... It is quick and cute, which is just what I needed. And I used a recent Freshly Made Sketch.
Supplies:
Stamps: Welcome Little One
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Pretty in Pink card stock (retired), Berry Bliss DP (lonnng retired)
Accessories: Stitched grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals, stapler

Soft Flowers

Happy Monday to you! I hope your week is off to a good start!
I took a few minutes today to stamp a few more birthday cards so I have fun things to share with you throughout the week! First off, some pretty flowers using a recent Retro Sketch! I love how the flowers lend themselves to a woodsy, natural look, hence the accessories I chose to use!
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Sketched Hostess
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe
Paper: Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe card stocks
Accessories: Natural Trim ribbon, Natural Buttons, Linen Thread, Big Shot, Woodgrain Embossing Folder

Nautical Birthdays x2

Again with the sketches and birthdays, lol. I tried out a new color combination, because I was looking for ways to use my new Smoky Slate! Then I liked it so much, especially with this stamp set, that I used it twice! haha! I actually used both dark blue shades, but Pacific Point worked well too. Maybe any blue!

First up, a card using the latest Freshly Made Sketch:

Late Mojo!

This card uses a few week old Mojo Sketch, but I'm sure happy to use it!
I have been keeping recent sketches scribbled on a sheet of paper and crossing them off as I get them done...and I haven't had a lot of crafting time lately! But I was looking over the sketches and thinking about what events I have coming up and what kinds of cards I needed and realized I have a bunch of August birthdays!! Here we are to the 7th already so I better get some cards made!! So here's one that I think will be sent to a guy...but could work for a girl too. I love the simple sketch and the gray and yellow together!

Supplies:
stamps: Simply Sketched
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: So Saffron & Basic Gray card stocks, I Am Me DP
Accessories: Epic Day Washi Tape, Neutral Buttons, White Bakers Twine, Mini Glue Dots

Daddy Daughter Date

This page was so fun to put together! Earlier this summer, my husband took our daughter out to dinner and to see a play, just the two of them! I had her type up a blog post for it on our {private} family blog so then I just printed off what she'd written for the journaling! I used their tickets and also printed off what he had to say on facebook while they were out. So fun and simple! And then I made some hexagon-punch flowers for a bit of personality.
Supplies:
Stamps: Six Sided Sampler, Remember Rotary Stamp
Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Gray
Paper: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Gray, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Hexagon Punch, Brights Candy Dots

and since its been so many days since I posted anything (since I created anything!!!) here's a few close ups for you...the stamping:
and the candy dots on the hexagons...

Blog Hop: The Great Outdoors!

Welcome to our August Blog Hop, everyone! This time * I * got to pick the theme, The Great Outdoors and I cannot wait to see what everyone came up with! I hope you'll stick with us through the hop and share your thoughts on the projects we have to inspire you today!

Its summertime and for my family that means a lot of time outdoors! These photos are from just this past month! My family took a quick hike one Saturday morning, to a little waterfall up the canyon nearest our house. Perfect way to enjoy The Great Outdoors! This hike (which is really more of an uphill walk) has some log "bridges" to let you cross over the stream as you go, and I thought my leaf die cuts would work fabulously for this! I used some very distressed corners of the Epic Day DP to make my leaves, and then used some "coordinating but not matching" card stock to complete the project.
Supplies:
Paper: Soft Suede & Marina Mist card stock, Epic Day DP
Accessories: Big Shot, Autumn Accents Bigz Dies

I thought there could be endless possibilities for card making with a theme like The Great Outdoors! Who doesn't have flowers stamps, if nothing else, haha, and what a fabulous part of The Great Outdoors flowers are! Usually, I get my blog hop projects done early in the month but this has been a particularly crazy one so I was still scrambling yesterday to get another project done! As soon as I saw the current Freshly Made Sketch I knew what I could do with it! And I knew my bird punch would suit it fabulously!
Supplies:
Stamps: Banner Greetings (hostess!)
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe Marker
Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Bird Punch, Woodgrain embossing folder, Big Shot

Please continue on and see what the rest of my blogging friends have created with The Great Outdoors! You won't be disappointed!
