Dance Recital!

Happy Monday and happy Spring Break around here!

Today I'm going to share a scrapbook layout that is an interesting kind of hybrid project. Since this was for dance, I knew I wanted a glimmery kind of purple for the background, but I didn't have anything that was right. I knew I had "Glimmer Paper" in MDS... so I changed the Gold Glimmer paper to Elegant Eggplant and then I just printed those two sheets, hahaha!! Then I glued the photos and the circles down and I always tape the ribbon. So the layout was made traditionally, on Digital paper I digitally altered, ha!
Supplies:
Paper: Basic Black card stock, Gold Glimmer paper recolored to Elegant Eggplant in MDS (retired!)
Accessories: Crochet Ribbon, Circle dies, Big Shot (all retired)

2024 September, October & November!

Since I opted to share the calendar covers by themselves, I'm finishing off the whole calendar in this post.

For September I usually do a back to school theme:

October is, of course, Halloween themed:

And then November was all about family:

And that's the calendars we gave our families this year!

2024 January & February

Since there was practically no crafting in December, and hardly any so far for January, I'm going to keep sharing these calendar pages. The pages are simple, keeping the focus on the photos.

So here are the January pages:
This page below was really about cramming the grandkids into one page.
And February:
And this page below was each of the couples, and then siblings together.

2023 January Calendar Pages!

If you've been here more than a year, you will know I make calendars for our parents every Christmas. I use the long-retired MDS to make them, and I make two - one of my own little family for my husband's parents and one of my parents entire family for my parents. In recent years, I have also given a copy to each of my siblings. They all seem to enjoy it, so the work is worth it, RIGHT? hahaha.... It actually ends up a lot of work tracking down photos of at least all the grand kids, and making them work together. And when you're featuring so many photos, simple layouts tend to work best.

Now that it's December, I'm going to start featuring the calendar pages! So here's the January pages for you!

Preference

Here's another very fun scrapbook layout for you! This is page one, of a high school dance my daughter went to earlier this year. I used THIS sketch I found on Pinterest for the layout and I love the fun randomness of it all for her. Page two has the journaling, plus the group, and it's boring straight lines, lol, so I didn't share that one too.

Supplies:
ALL in the long-retired MDS
Stamps: Bloomin' Marvelous
Ink: Daffodil Delight
Paper: So Saffron Soft Flower, White mats,
Accessories: Burlap Ribbon, Saffron grosgrain ribbon, Paper Daisies, Pearl, Button Latte
Journaling Font: Goudy Old Style, French Script

Anyway, this was considered "taking a break", haha, so back to recording Disney!!

Calendars End!

And here we are, finished sharing the calendar pages! I hope you were at least a little bit inspired, haha! Today has some of my favorite pages this round, so here we go:
November:

And December...

On this one below, I asked my 5yr old if it was too pink or still okay for Christmas. She told me "it needed a little bit of gold." I added the thin gold Glimmer strips behind the plaid DP and it worked out great!

Oh, and since I really love how the covers came out, here's that too. I did the exact same cover, just swapped out the photos.
And next week is Christmas!!

Calendars #5!

We're almost to the end of this series, and that means Christmas is approaching! Are you ready? More importantly, are you enjoying the festivities? We finally got that much-prayed-for snow!! This is Thursday afternoon, when I quit after shoveling a full hour...!

Today I have September and October calendar pages to share with you!

lottts of back to school pictures for this page!
and October:
This glimpse of our October covers ALL the fun we managed to have, between very cold temps, a ridiculous amount of sickness, and all the things that go with those. We did pumpkins twice because the first time was too early and wow, did those ones die... But it wasn't ALL terrible, hahaha, so I scrapped the good!

I usually do costume pictures for my family, but some costumes arrived late and some weren't photographed, but it worked out well anyway, didn't it?

July & August Pages

Stamping is just going to be a little fewer and farther between for the rest of the year...! I'm sure you, like me, are busy with all the Christmas gifts and projects. I also had to clear my stamp stuff off my counter so that helps make things a little more difficult, lol. But I wanted to keep featuring calendar pages on Mondays, so here's a few more!
(The calendars, btw, are complete! I got them done before it was actually December and I am super excited about that little fact!)

July:

And August:

What kinds of things are you busy making? Honestly, I've got cookies in the oven right now and that counts as "making" too! hee hee!

June Pages

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend, and survived all the travel and sales and storms! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day, did a little shopping after the big, crazy hours, and traveled again to a family event on Sunday. It was a really nice weekend, even tho I am still kind of exhausted from it, haha... And then all the catch up on Monday and other big projects on Tuesday and I'm only getting around to crafting today!

I was trying to post these pages each Monday morning, but I've been in a fight with the long retired software so it took most of today to get three pages recreated a third time, sigh. I only have two pages left to make and then they'll be completely done! Considering it isn't even yet December, I am extremely excited about this! Hoping for no more stubborn battles with the software.......!

So first my inlaws June page...

And then my parents June page! These pictures were from all over the year, tho the one of my own little family was taken in June, haha!
What kind of crafting are you doing for Christmas? Have you ever made a photo calendar? They're kind of a hit....!

May Pages

Happy Monday to you!
I finally got started on the second calendar, and am nine pages in! And it's not quite Thanksgiving yet! Our photo cards have been printed and I have a good stack of stamped Christmas cards to mail out as well. I'm excited to be a little ahead of myself this year instead of cramming it all at the last second. Hooray!!! Very little shopping done, but this is a good start!

So here's the first May page...

And here's the second May page.
If you've been here before, you know that my mom likes me to include as many of us as possible on every page. The adults are harder to show every time- I take more pics of kids, haha. But that's okay, the grandkids are the priority for sure. Who doesn't want to see themselves repeatedly on Grandma's wall??
*Bonus- since the calendar features my parents entire family, my siblings get a copy of the calendar for their gift too. Five gifts for the effort of one! bam!

How are your holiday plans going? Are you making any gifts this year?

Calendar Pages #6

Today I have the end of the 2018 Calendar Pages. The calendars themselves turned out very nicely and of course they were a huge hit for everyone receiving them, and it is always nice to see people appreciating your hard work- that's for sure!

Here are the November pages. I totally focused on family being together for these.

And for December's pages I used almost the same layout.
This first one- all but one shot was taken last Christmas day, 2016.
and this one is a mix of December 2016 and December 2017.
To be perfectly honest, this is getting trickier every year, but I am really glad I do these. I am so happy to share our year with the family and like I said, I know they're enjoyed. It is also nice for me to recap the year, since it flies by so fast...! Not gonna lie- I am also glad I had a chance to do a tiny bit of scrapbooking.

2016 Calendar Pages

oookay, lets get this wrapped up already! Here are the rest of the calendar pages I haven't shared! Some pages obviously took more time than others, but I like the pictures! It's a good goal to work on next years calendars each month, but at this moment I'm not committing to anything, haha...!

July & August Pages!

Yes, I really did plan to blog more this year, but then I got sick. My family was all wiped out with this horrible cold before Christmas, and I was sickish one day, which was clearly not enough, haha. So I made up for it the whole week after New Years.
Today we'll check out some calendar pages, but you should know I have stacks of Paper Pumpkin boxes surrounding me right now...!!!

First, July. You've seen this page already, because the January page from the other calendar uses the same sketch.
And here is the second July page.

And then, just so we're not dragging the calendar out too far, here are the August pages.
I just noticed that apparently hot yellow shades say "August" to me, haha!
Thanks for stopping in, and come back tomorrow for some paper stamping!

May Calendar Page

I was determined to post something every day this week, and look- I made it!! (just barely...haha, this is a quick post!)
Today's calendar page is suuuper simple, but I really like how it turned out. I think the colors work well together and the images I used do too. I didn't get quite everyone on this page, but the May birthdays boys and girl are there...! That's important, right? haha....
Supplies:
MDS: Hip & Handsome overlay (background pattern), So Happy For You stamp set,
colors: Pistachio Pudding, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
