Retired Scrapping!

The newest thing on this page is the photos, which are from Halloween 2018, haha! Oh, the inks are all current...
After reading, and then watching, The Outsiders in her English class, my daughter wanted to be a greaser for Halloween. Trouble was, she's tall, she was probably a bit "too old" for trick or treating, and she sure didn't look dressed up! lol.... Oh well. I picked some "edgy-er" looking things for this layout, rather than just using Halloween supplies. She's excited and that is the part that matters.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sparkly Seasons (retired), Gorgeous Grunge (retired)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Granny Apple Green, Memento Black
Paper: Smoky Slate & Basic Black card stocks, Halloween Night DP (retired), Sweet DP (retired!)
Journaling Font: Chiller

A Retired Halloween!

I don't typically make very many Halloween cards unless I'm helping my mom. She has about 40-too-many things going on right now but she has two aunts that could seriously use some Halloween cheer. Neither ever married, one has stayed home much of the Covid year and the other is in a rest home, and we know she's not getting any visitors of any kind. So, I had my little one color some halloweeny pictures of her choice and I made a card to send both of them! Their sister, my grandmother, is why my mom sends Halloween cards in the first place!

I didn't buy any of the new Halloween things, and I don't have anything current at all to use, so how handy was it that the Retro Rubber Challenge was to do black, orange and white when I had to use long-retired stamps to make my cards? haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sparkly Seasons, Happy Scenes (both retired, both released in 2015)
Ink: Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie, Peach Parfait (retired)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals, Seasonal Frames Dies (retired)

This second card still works perfectly with the Retro Rubber Challenge, but it also uses the photo inspiration from Inkspirational Challenges, with the trees and the witch. This time I used a witch hat from the Paper Pumpkin kit that came in Sept 2016.
Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Scenes (released in 2015), Paper Pumpkin 2016 (both retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Whisper White, Basick Black & Pumpkin Pie card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blend Marker

And they're going in the mail today!

I have seen a number of cards online of simple and beautiful ways to make ball ornaments, and when I did my snowman last week I thought - why not chevron ball ornaments?? So I stamped a bunch in three different colors, and now I have four similar cards ready to send!
Am I more excited about that, or that I used up scraps for the hook part...? haha!

Ink: Real Red, Delightful Dijon, Island Indigo, Memento Black
Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Basic Gray, Real Red card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Banners Die, Dimensionals

Music Box for Christmas

This set is seriously SO much fun! It was high on my to-get list as soon as the Mini came out and I am SO glad I got it!! As soon as I saw this ballarina image I knew exactly who was getting a card with it, and I finally got to create it!
I used the latest sketch from the TGIF challenge blog, and possibly my favorite current Christmas-y accessory- the white Glitter Ribbon! I'm pretty sure this will be part of my Christmas Card class. I love it! And the pink falling snow!!

A Snowy Card!

I got to stamp a little this weekend!! That means a post today, and I have others planned for this week too! Hooray!
For this card, I used the latest Freshly Made sketch.
I only had two people attend my Halloween card class -not a surprising fact, but I did wonder what I was going to do with 25 spider web doilies...! Well, I flipped it over and stuck it on cool blue card stock and asked my son if it looked like a snowflake. He said "yeah, that's a pretty snowflake! But...it also looks a little like a spider web..." hee hee hee! Of course I had to give a try! What do you think?? The snowman and the embossed 'snow' helps for sure.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sparkly Seasons
Ink: Memento Black ink, Pool Party marker, Tangelo Twist marker
Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Pool Party
Accessories: Spider Web Doilies, Big Shot, Snow Flurries embossing folder, Wide Oval Punch

A Happy Jack!

Today, Oct 3rd is World Card Making Day! I don't have any events planned, I'm actually spending the weekend with family, enjoying a 2-day, LDS General Conference, but I have some cards made and you can bet I'll have some fun crafty inspiration for you!

Today I've got this fun jack-o-lantern card for you! I used the latest sketch from Nacho Average Challenges, and plenty of new toys! I've only used the dies once, and the stamps are brand new, and so was the glue pen! I'm pretty sure this will be another in my Halloween card class...and I'm sorry I don't have a date on that yet!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sparkly Seasons
Ink: Tangelo Twist, Soft Suede, Always Artichoke marker, Versamark
Paper: Tangelo Twist, Basic Black, Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Seasonal Frame thinlit dies, Black Embossing powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals, Fine Tip Glue Pen

The glue pen was designed to attach intricate or small things like the die cut words, or like little sequins. So here's what I learned....
First of all, the glue bottle itself is sealed with a peel-off-lid, so no matter how hard you squeeze, it isn't coming out til you take that off, haha. Second, when I did pull it off, it splattered all over me, so be careful! And third, it is a tiny bit tricky to get the lid end of the metal post back into the bottle end....look...
but that will help it to not clog, like the Crystal Effects do.
If you look closely at the second "o" in the spooky, you'll see some of the glue wasn't quite dry, but it dried clear everywhere else. I think it's going to be a great little tool!

Come back in a few hours to see another fun card!
