Today I have a less obvious birthday card, but that's what it's being sent out for. This card uses the sketch from The Paper Players, and some cozy colors and textures.
I have a friend going thru a lot of struggles right now, so I hope for her birthday she gets to enjoy some good treats,
and then on the inside, a bit of encouragement to keep going, because she IS awesome.
Supplies: Stamps: Nothing's Better Than Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso Paper: Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla card stocks, In Good Taste DP Accessories: Heart & Home Doilies, Linen Thread, Love You More Than dies, Dimensionals, Fine Tip Glue Pen, big shot (retired)
And a close up on the detail - I stamped and die cut the chocolates on Espresso and Vanilla card stock, and then fussy cut out a "white" chocolate to mix it up.
Happy Monday to you! I haven't had a chance to make anything new for a few days - it's been a little crazy around here lately. But I have lots of un-shared scrapbook pages that I could post to inspire your crafting! Here is the second Santa layout I made this month, for the same kiddo. And I have 2021 Santa photos printed, waiting for me!
Supplies:
Stamps: Letterpress Alphabet, unknown scripty letter stamps
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Paper: Very Vanilla & Pool Party card stocks, Home For Christmas DP
Accessories: various buttons Journaling font: cinnamon cake
I hope you have some crafty time scheduled this week! Make something that makes you happy!
Let's hop back to the windmills! Today I have the large die cut mill, plus a bunch of die cut rows of tulips! This was fun, even if it was a bit tedious to cut. I know tulips come in allllll colors because my dad used to get little catalogs of all sorts of flowers, but mostly tulips- in every color you could think of! That's perfect because Stampin' Up! has a huge variety of colors to play with! haha! So this time I used the Brights pack, and eight different shades! How fun is that?! I used two shades of brown for the wood windmill, and sponged a hint of blue on the sky.
Supplies: Ink: Balmy Blue Paper: Daffodil Delight, Basic White, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody, Early Espresso, Soft Suede Accessories: Metallic Pearls, Windmill Fields Dies, Dimensionals, sponge, big shot
I don't know why, but for as long as I can remember, I have loved windmills. I don't know if I've ever even seen one that looks like this, but two towns over has a row of much less beautiful and much less story-book-ish wind turbine things. That doesn't really count tho, haha. Anyway, you can probably imagine how fast I placed the order for the bundle that includes a stamp and two dies for a lovely, old windmill! Seriously, I saw the cover of the new mini and knew what was coming first, regardless of what else might be inside!
This card is going to someone special in just a few weeks. Rows of tulips heading to a windmill? Yep, that's about perfect. So to give you a quick break in between little girls chasing butterflies, here's today's card:
Happy Friday! Altho it feels like a Saturday at my house...
Today I wanted to color, and I really wanted to play with this sweet Sale-a-Bration stamp set! So I did, three times, haha! And I've decided to share each card separately.
On this first card, I colored the girl and butterfly with our regular Stampin' Write Markers. I used the color challenge from Global Design Project, combined with the theme from Just Add Ink. Looks summery to me!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Catching Butterflies, Sunny Sentiments
Ink: Memento Black Markers: Pool Party, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Soft Suede, Blushing Bride
Paper: Basic White, Pool Party card stocks
Accessories: Pale Papaya & White woven ribbon, Dimensionals
The greeting is a bit wonky because I forgot to stamp it before I put Dimensionals on the back... This is what happens when you're trying to do too many things at once...! But, it will be for a little girl's birthday and I promise she won't notice, haha, so it worked out okay.
Well, I don't know how your month is going, but I am feeling pretty darn good about working on the goals I set for myself! I have managed to walk every week day, I have read every week day, and I'm doing great with my papercrafting goals too!
Today, in fact, I'm showing off a very old Paper Pumpkin kit I still haven't used all the bits from, hahaha! This was from June of 2015, and this is what I made this past weekend:
Supplies:
Stamps: Party Wishes, Perfect Pennants, Sending You Thoughts Ink: memento Black, Bermuda Bay, Just Jade Paper: basic white card stock Accessories: Happy Thoughts Paper Pumpkin kit (June 2015)
That's six more birthday cards!! And I've selected exactly who three are going to! And this is what is still left over! But I called it quits, haha....
The DP was all supposed to be envelope liners. The top of the wood bits made the center bottom card. Fun, huh? I am pretty excited. The buttons are in my button jar, the twine is with my other embellishments, and the rest are all flat and fit nicely in my over-full book of bits.
Maybe one of these days I'll get my craft room done and show you what I'm talking about. hahaha... don't hold your breath.... I have other things to do!
I got some scrapping done last week too! Hooray for taking time to do things *I want to do! So here's the trip to visit Santa in 2019. I love how sweet these photos turned out- she was SO excited to see him!
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White & Garden Green card stock, Peaceful Prints DP
Accessories: Garden Green 1/8 striped ribbon journaling font: Felix Titling
I use a lot of retired supplies for my scrapping, and this time is no different. The DP is all from one pack from last year, the ribbon was from a few Christmas's before, and the stamp set is super old.
Happy Friday! Today I'll talk less, hahaha, but, going back to goals- this year I have a specific reading list of goals, AND a way to get them read! I don't like listening to books (or podcasts, radio dj's, or any thing talking I can't see, lol) so I haven't read much in a very long time. I came up with an idea when school started, but I've been so busy it hasn't happened, til this week: I can walk on the treadmill and read two chapters a day! I know because I have succeeded four days this week so far! BAM! Happy New Year! haha!
I was already completely smitten with this stamp set, but this reading and relaxing girl was the first to get inked up! Looks like a perfect scene to me, and it has to be shared! I know exactly who all three cards are going to, too! And it's a perfect match for the latest SUO Challenge to use SUO products! (I almost always do...) haha! I also showed off a new accessory from the Mini - the pretty doilies in three lovely colors. And don't forget, Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider will both be retiring with the catalog in June, darnit all. These are two of my favorite shades! Sale-A-Bration is a great time to stock up on your favorite In Colors!
Supplies: Stamps: In The Moment Ink: Memento Black Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Basic White card stocks Accessories: Heart & Home Doilies, Metallic Pearls
Supplies:
Stamps: In The Moment Ink: Memento Black, Misty Moonlight Paper: Misty Moonlight, Basic White card stocks, Accessories: Heart & Home Doilies
Supplies: Stamps: In The Moment Ink: Memento Black, Misty Moonlight Paper: Misty Moonlight, Soft Suede, Basic White card stocks, Accessories: Heart & Home Doilies, Dimensionals
Do you want a list of the Blends? I used all but three that I own, hahaha. Ask if you want a list!
How do you feel about New Years resolutions? Personally, I love new years, new seasons, new weeks... and I love setting new goals and resetting them. In a good way, haha... I love making ideas of plans and I love thinking of ways to improve myself and do better. And so, every year I set paper crafting goals too! I set a goal for how many scrapbook pages I hope to complete, and I make a plan for what cards I will need in the upcoming month or year, and base my card making plans off that. (Altho I absolutely sometimes just make cards to play with the products!! That's important too!) So this month, I am hoping to scrap 10 pages (more is always a good thing!) and I am hoping to mail out five cards, and I need to make one to send out early February. Some of these are birthday cards, but some are thinking of you, or other reasons to send a card.
And this brings me to today's topic- why Paper Pumpkin? (Because I also have a 2022 goal to make up all my PP kits and mail the cards out instead of storing... lets see... I'm at 17 boxes. ahem.)
For myself, I stay subscribed, and skip months for a lot of reasons. Sometimes I spent all my money on catalog orders and can't afford it, lol. Sometimes I just don't think that kit is something I will use. It just depends. This last kit, sent in December, I meant to skip. It just didn't appeal to me and that is okay! We all like different things! But, in the crazy of December I completely forgot to skip it! And it just showed up! Whoops! But now that it's here, I may as well make the best of it, right? And I realized that even tho the kit itself doesn't focus on anything birthday at all, it has a birthday greeting and *I can make it be a birthday card! And this one has already gone out! Hooray!
Paper Pumpkin is fun because it comes with everything you need to make their design, but you can use it for whatever YOU want, however YOU want!!
Here's the unboxing video so you can see how it was intended:
But the other thing I wanted to share with you today was this. You can see from my blog that I did very, very little paper crafting in December. I made three cards that I shared, and that was it. But that week between Christmas and New Years, when things were a little too chaotic for me, I hoped that creating might calm me. So I pulled out the Christmas card PP kit from Oct 2020 and I put these together!
and then, on New Year's Eve, while my teenagers were having a loud party in my living room, haha, I went into my craft-room-in-progress and pulled out the Christmas card kit from 2016. In 2016 I worked part time out of the home from Jan-Aug, I moved twice, and I had a baby. I opened this box to stamp "Merry Christmas" on some neighbor treats we delivered, but that was as far as it ever went. So on New Years eve 2021, I put half the kit together, finally!
So for me, even if I'm not going to use the kit as soon as it arrives, Paper Pumpkin is still such a nice thing because I can quickly whip up some cards, any time I have a spare minute to "make" but not necessarily "create". It doesn't' take up a lot of space, even as those 17 boxes. The boxes can often hold two kits, sometimes more, and the boxes are a handy place to keep the stamp sets and ink spots you are left with! I have one box full to bursting of a few years worth of stamp sets!
Anyway, this is the sneak peek to the next kit! It will make 8 cards, perfect for Valentines, and this month, subscribers can order a set of treat boxes if you wish! Starting Jan 25th, you can order 20 Mini Treat boxes, shown on the side of this flyer:
All you have to do to subscribe is sign up using the button on my side bar here. AND best of all, if you order a pre-paid subscription between now and Feb 28 (3m/6m/12m long subscription) you qualify for free Sale-A-Bration items!! And you also can skip months if you're not loving the sneak peek!
Happy New Year to you!! I hope you have had a lovely holiday season and are ready for the new year! Clearly, I have not been creating anything, and I have been busy, but we've had a lot of good family time too.
Today I'm really just hopping on with a reminder that it is the last day to order from the July - December mini catalog!

There are still some really cute things on there! Five sets that were on my wish list, and one set I actually bought last year and used a lot!
