Triple Celebration

Happy Monday!
My first born celebrated another trip around the sun this past week, so when I had a minute, I pulled out his photo box that needs scrapped and decided to scrap this previous birthday! I started by trying to fit these pages into a specific challenge, but that didn't work out, so it's just a layout, ha. But done is done and I think this turned out fun with a bit of uniqueness for me.

Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Timid Tiger
Paper: Sweet Taffy DP (long-retired), Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Blending Brush
Journaling Font: Courier New

Fireflies!

Happy Friday!

Fireflies are not common in my area at. all. I had been told they don't live here, and I absolutely believed it until about three years ago when I heard they were at a small nearby lake... I saw some as a kid, when my family took a vacation to Illinois, but not here. Not ever.

My husband's co-worker owns a farm about 20 mins from our home and she has fireflies in her field! So she does little tours and asked him if he'd like to bring his family. I told him YES HE WOULD, ha, so we went!
We learned that one reason they are so rare here is the ground has to stay moist and not freeze for the bug's life cycle under ground, which takes two years. Yeah, that's not a thing around here, ha. Each of our kids got to catch a firefly, and watching them blink across the field was really cool. It was definitely a special family night.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lighting the Way, Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent
Paper: Soft Succulent, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Lighting the Way Dies, big shot
Journaling Font: Moon Flower Bold

This firefly set that retired this spring was perfect for this page. And this page is easily in my top 10 favorites ever. I stamped the grassy-ness, and then stamped and die cut the fireflies. And I really love the result.

A Valentines Page

Today I have a scrapbook page for you.
This one used up some "mistakes" I made back in January for THIS card. I even state in the post that I tried three times, haha! I kept those mistakes and then die cut a bunch of hearts out for my page today.

Supplies:
Stamps: Alphabet Appeal Lower (retired), Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Sweet Sorbet (retiring!)
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock
Accessories: Resin Hearts (retired), Heart framelit dies (retired), big shot (retired)

And as a reminder, haha, everything here is retired because my retired stash IS for my scrapbooks. Altho that ink is still available if you're interested!!

Hybrid Scrapping!

Hybrid is when you do some digital and add some traditional elements. I definitely did that for these layouts. Yesterday I talked about the convenience of making one digital layout and printing the same thing several times for each person in the family. Today I have a set, haha.

Perhaps most remarkably- it is of THIS Christmas morning. I almost never scrap Christmas day. Plenty of things leading up to it, but not Christmas DAY. Seriously. I've done three December Daily style books and I skip over the gift opening... ahem. There's too many photos and too many things to deal with and just no. But for whatever reason, I thought doing it this way would get it done for once.
The photos were put together on a page in the very long retired MDS, and I kept the first photo the same for all three layouts. Then I duplicated the layout, swapping out the rest of the photos so each kid has their own gifts on the page. Once I got the printed pages home, I added two strips of DP (different for each kid), a title strip, and a ribbon, right on top of the printed page! So they're the same pages, but unique!
Home For Christmas DP (maybe 2015??)
Santa's Express DP (2022)
Christmas Around the World DP (...long retired)

And yes, I stamped it all together too, hahaha. I put a letter on two sides of a block, but still so I could see thru it, and laid it out and got it done!
Other Supplies:
Skinny Mini Alpabet, Real Red Ink, Real Red ribbon (2016ish)

Tomorrowland - How to travel!

Happy Saturday! Oh my word, are we gonna make it thru this month?! I am *not sure! But here for now, we are with what I believe is the rest of Tomorrowland!

This page is quick and simple.

Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Pineapple Punch, Berry Delightful DP
Accessories: Red 1/8 striped ribbon
Journaling Font: Arial Narrow

And this next page is actually a hybrid. Most of the page was created in the long-retired MDS, but I don't have a single digital car image and I DID have stamps, so I printed the page then added a bit of cardstock with stamped cars at the top. And the layout came from HERE

Autopia: MDS (retired)
Stamps: Let's Get Away (long retired)
Ink: Fresh Fig (retired), Gold Glimmer (retired), Perfect Plum text
Paper: Red Glimmer, White, Black
Accessories: Perfect Plum brads
Journaling Font: Copperplate Gothic

I hope that YOUR weekend is relaxing! I might relax later this week... we'll see!

Old Scrapping Supplies!

Happy Friday!
Today I have a scrapbook layout that I made with my scrapping friend Cheryl's 100th sketch. If you're a scrapper, you'll want to check it out!! I love Cheryl's sketches and I've used many of them.

Everything on this page is long retired, but it is all Stampin' Up! stuff. I keep almost all my retired product and use it almost exclusively for scrapping. The DP says copyright 2006, the brads and ribbon are old enough to have the blue swirly label. The stamps, paper daisies and Candy Dots have the green floral label, haha. The ink I used to stamp the banner is current! That's it! haha! But it all made a really nice couple of pages for my daughter!

Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Whisper White, Spring Showers DP
Accessories: Paper Daisies, Brights Candy Dots, Subtles Brads, Fairy Tale Ribbon Originals, Pennant Punch
Journaling Font: The Serif Hand Black

Here's a couple close ups for you...

and an even closer-up!

Butterfly Page

Happy Friday! Once again, showing off this stamp set, but this time on a scrapbook page! Very simple, but I think it turned out nice. AND it's another page done, and that is important. I thought the butterflies made a nice symbol of freedom on this page, haha.
Supplies:
Stamps: A Touch of Ink, Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape
Paper: Purple Posy
Accessories: Opal Rounds

Here's a close up of these pretty butterflies. The outline is in Gorgeous Grape and the fill in is Highland Heather. Then I topped his face with an Opal Round, found in the Mini Catalog. They're so sparkly!

Walking the Dog

Best laid plans... I intended to have five projects for you with this set, shared last week. Well... here's the third!

Today I'm showing off the last image in this set, and this time I used it on a scrapbook page of my dad and my daughter. (you had to know that was coming...!) These pictures are pretty old, and that old dog has crossed the rainbow bridge, but my daughter sure loved her while she was here to love. (yes, my son is in the pictures too, but he is soo my child and more than a little...nervous around dogs....ahem).
I shouldn't have used the Blends on this particular stamped image, because I used the wrong black ink, but didn't have a darker brown or black marker for my dad's hair and I'm leaving it anyway, lol.
Supplies:
Stamps: Treasures of Life, Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Memento Black, Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray marker, Cinnamon Cider marker, Soft Suede marker, Rococo Rose marker, Blushing Bride marker, Ivory Stampin' Blends, Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends, Light Black Stampin' Blends
Paper: Seaside Spray, Whisper White card stocks
Journaling Font: Just Beautiful Simplicity

and a close up of that sweet image...

Blessing an Angel!

Today I'm not featuring my new stamp set. Instead I'm sharing a challenge *I issued my scrappy friends. This page uses a color challenge from Global Design Project, and then a challenge to use supplies that make you think of Valentines, for a non-Valentine project. Everything but the colors are retired, but that is why I keep my retired supplies- for scrapping!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired), Taffy Alphabet (retired),
Ink: Rococo Rose, Sahara Sand, Rococo Rose marker
Paper: Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose
Accessories: Scalloped Lace Trim, Glue Dots, Artisan Embellishment Kit (ribbon roses, Rose die cut, pearls), Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit (heart doilies, glitter dots) (kits both long retired)
Journaling Font: Jennifer Lynne

and some close ups...

So, when I was looking over her blessing pictures and trying to think of a title, this was all that was coming to mind. But I hesitated because I was sure I used it with one of my big kids'...... So I looked at their books and it turned out I used it for BOTH of my big kids, so I could totally use it again, hahaha! And if your curiosity is now piqued, this is how I used it before, back in the dark ages/good old days when I'd print a roll of film and scrap it within the week.......

a kind of long time ago
and a really long time ago.

Old Scrapping

Happy Saturday! I hope you've got some plans for a nice weekend!

This week I also managed to get a little scrappy time in! Last year's scrapping was almost entirely for my son, and a little bit for my youngest because if I was spending that much time working on scrapbooks instead of playing with her or reading to her, she wanted new pages too, lol. That meant my middle child was pretty much ignored in my scrapping last year, so this year I started with her! These photos have been printed so long, (they were taken in 2010!) they were curling along all the long sides, making the picture even more difficult to look right. But hey, it's done!

I mostly followed EMS Sketch 95 from Cheryl for the layout, and I made my own DP for the two sections. I used two markers for the circly elements, and a very old alphabet for the title. Added a few pearls and called it good!

Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely You, Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Melon Mambo/marker, Purple Posy marker
Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Basic Pearls

Band Parades

This week has had a little summer fun going on with the kids, which means no crafting time for me. So, here's some more band pages today! Here are some parade pages, before parade season starts up again......
here's hoping anyway, huh??!

This first one is super basic...
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Whisper White, local scrapbook store dp

And this second one was for a challenge:
I took "using sunburnt country colours. Bonus if you add coral or things found in the ocean."
I used the hot yellow, cajun craze and the dark gray band paper for sunburnt colors, with a pop of blue for the ocean.
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet
Ink: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Daffodil Delight & Whisper White card stocks, Adventure Bound DP (retired), local scrapbook store DP
Journaling Font: Parade

Easter Pages

I have been away from the computer a bit, so I missed blogging yesterday. But really I have tons of scrapbooking, so even if I don't get to make cards soon, I still have plenty to share!
Let's stick with this holiday theme that I started on Sunday, haha... So today it's Easter! Since I was doing sooo much scrapping for my son, I went thru my entire DP stash, which is...huge. *ahem. And I found this great, albeit really old, Simply Scrappin' kit that is so perfect for boy pages! I think I used it twice, but obviously, definitely here.
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Pool Party, Bandstand Simply Scrappin' Kit (retired)
Accessories: Bandstand Simply Scrappin' Kit (retired)

Swim Banquet

Today I have another scrapbook layout for you! This one is of the end-of-season Swim Banquet. I thought it was odd that it was so early compared to the last two years, but if they hadn't held it at the end of February, it wouldn't have happened, huh? So PHEW for that!!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Pacific Point, Seaside Spray, misc scrapbook store
Accessories: misc sticker
Journaling font: Throw My Hands Up In The Air

The paper across the bottom came from the local scrapbook store, but it features his high school and it looks very cool so I had to use it. There's one sticker from the store, and the rest of it comes from Stampin' Up!

NYE 2020!

Well, we are five and half weeks in to not going to school. I already had a goal to get my son's scrapbooks "done" before he graduated. Then I realized that is 1000% totally unattainable. But with things going the way they are- school's out for the year....and graduation is still unannounced....and yearbook printing companies have furloughed their employees....and Prom was cancelled for sure....and his first and only play is cancelled....and all the things. Today I'm already emotional and I gotta say, it's really quite heartbreaking. So my new goal for now is to get the things from his senior year scrapped first, then see what else I can do. (of course that also depends on the pics I've already got printed off, haha.....)

So, for this page of his New Year's party, I used a challenge that was issued for a virtual scrap night since we're all quarantined. The challenge was:

G - Gold Accents
O - Oval -- use one on layout
A - Angles -- put something on an Angle or use (Tri)Angles
W - White Space
A - Arrows
Y - Yellow -- use the color Yellow

So, you can see most of the ways I used everything. I think I'm lacking on "white space" tho, ahem.... That's okay. I think the page feels like New Year's and is plenty bright and fun, haha. Oh, the oval? The journaling is spaced into an oval shape! But I did have to erase the names.
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired), Peachy Keen (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Delicata Gold (retired)
Paper: Pineapple Punch & Basic Black card stocks, Merry Little Christmas DP (retired)
Accessories: Gold Thread, Metallic Sequins (retired), Pennant Punch (retired), Dimensionals, Glue Dots
and the font is "Throw My Hands Up In The Air"

And here's a close up of the gold embellishments:
The one thing I will say about all of this...I am NOT bored. I have sooo much to do! it's only a matter of focus + motivation. Along with time, because sure, we're home and have time, but I have three kids to entertain too, haha.... Keep them on task for school, come up with distractions and field trips, and keep them doing things that don't involve so much screen time...!

Back to School!

This week I turned 40. I'm fine with that, haha. I totally feel "old" some days and most of the time it's just fine. But to celebrate, I decided to spend the day scrapbooking!! That's great...but I am still the mom, and I have a three year old full time, haha, so I didn't get to scrap the entire day. But I did get seven pages done and I am very happy about that! And if you recall, I'm cramming to get my son's books "done" before he graduates in a couple months. That means I have pages, not cards, to share right now.

Three of the pages I did on my birthday were back-to-school pages. Three different years of the first day of school! And I'm not done with that topic either! The pages are pretty simple but they're done and that is the point.

This page uses a Simply Sent kit which is so old I wasn't even blogging when it came out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Old Olive card stock, Rock Star Simply Sent kit (retired)
Accessories: Rock Star Simply Sent kit (retired)

This page used THIS sketch. I don't think I've ever made a circle of brads because it's time consuming and uses up product, but they've been retired for years so I think it's okay, haha! I layered some paper on the ends and used a retired stamp set for the title. Finally, the DP strip and the stickers came from the local store, but it's exactly my son's school sooooo I couldn't exactly resist....
Supplies:
Stamps: Number of Years (retired)
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Paper: Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, Seaside Spray, Real Red card stock, Come Sail Away DP, misc
Accessories: Silver brads (retired)

And finally this page. Again, very simple, but hey, it's done!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Balmy Blue, Blueberry Bushel, Come Sail Away DP, misc
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Star Brads (retired) stickers

Scrapping Homecoming

Going right along with the spring theme from our blog hop Sunday, I have some pretty scrapbook pages of pictures actually taken last fall, haha... I already shared the page of how he asked her to the dance, so here is the page of them exchanging flowers...
And of their dance pictures and dinner.
Supplies:
Stamps: Love What You Do, Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Fresh Fig (retired)
Paper: Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, Floral Romance DP (retired)

The supplies are the same for both, other than the base card stock. I got to be the photographer again which was fun, and handy! And I'm happy I got the whole thing scrapped and in his book!
I met my scrapping goal in February and I hope to exceed it in March!

First Grade!

Hello again! I hope your week is turning out calmer than mine, haha!
Just a quick post today. Here's a sweet page I did last week, with a whole lot of old things, the stamps, the DP and the pictures!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini ABC (retired)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Pool Party, Storytime DP (retired)

And a closeup of that stamping. I love to stamp in my scrapbooks! It's the best way to do titles for sure!

Summer Scrapping!

I haven't stamped very much in recent weeks, I have been really busy with a lot of things, most of which are in fact for other people. Not that I mind, it's just that sometimes you need a minute to yourself. So today, after an unexpectedly crazy morning, I decided I was going to stamp. Then I decided that even better- I was going to scrapbook!

I pulled out the printed pics intended for my baby's book, looked at the events I had and figured I'd do the whichever theme matched the first thing I found and loved that fit, haha! This long retired DP was perfect for her first time in the wading pool last summer, with the high waves and swirls. I knew exactly which stamp image I wanted to use after that, and I just made it fit, HA. I don't even love the placement of the stamp or the journaling, because I really wanted to show off the DP, but there it is, and hey, she's got two more pages done! That puts her up to .... eight whole pages! YIKES!
Supplies:
Stamps: Lively Little Ones, Skinny Mini Alphabet (both retired)
Ink: Pacific Point, Memento Black, Calypso Coral marker
Paper: Whisper White card stock, High Tide DP (retired)
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Glue Dots, sequins from a retired embellishment kit

This is why I keep what I buy. Many demonstrators sell off their retired products, and I do sell some, to make more room, but. I start by buying what I love, then I find ways to use it in my scrapbooks. Lively Little Ones came out in 2005. Skinny Mini Alphabet came out in 2014. And the DP is from at least 2015, maybe earlier. I love having a variety of alphabet stamps. I love having a nice stash of DP for any occasion. And I love the variety of stamps that come and go!

Christmas in...August?

I don't know if you have noticed the lack of scrapbooking as much as I have, but I have definitely been missing it...! Yesterday after church my kids pulled out scrapbooks. While listening to my son carry on about how he remembers this and this, I was noticing all the "in-betweens" that weren't scrapped yet...and feeling a little guilty that I'm so far behind... And suddenly, he noticed too! haha! When there's one layout separating two Halloweens...and only a few between birthdays...yeeeeah, I have a lot of work to do!
So! Later in the evening, I pulled out my son's box of printed, un-scrapped photos, and got some pages done! ...with an emphasis on Christmas, apparently...! But hey, he now has all of Christmas 2010 scrapped and THAT is a good thing!

As my starting point, I turned to challenges on Splitcoaststampers.com. These two pages obviously use the same sketch, just flipped. And I used a "stashbusters challenge" too! Which means the supplies used are now retired, altho there IS a new Project Life kit on page 37 of the new Holiday Mini!
I used 3 colors of cardstock, 2 tags, 3 types of accents (punches, sequins and stickers) and I stamped the title!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini ABC
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Old Olive card stocks
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Glue Dots, Hello December Project Life cards (2014), Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014)

These two pages are the same paper layout and I kept it very simple. This time I used the retired All Is Calm DP, and the same PL Accessory kit as before. All the little sticker labels come from it, and I think they're so cute!
Supplies:
Paper: Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler card stocks, All Is Calm DP
Accessories: Hello December Project Life cards (2014), Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014)

Next up are eeeeven simpler pages, letting the Christmas Morning photos be the star!
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet (long retired)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler card stocks
Accessories: Holly Berry Bouquet buttons (long retired)

The fourth in this series (yes really) kept with another very simple layout, but I used several accessories.
Supplies:
Paper: Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Hello December Project Life cards (2014), Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014), Glue Dots

Finally, for this layout, I used THIS sketch, and really played it up I think...Since I knew I was going to need to seriously embellish the layout, I picked another Stashbuster Challenge. This time I used 2 patterned papers, die cut accents, sticker accents, stamped accents...and sequins and washi tape! I pulled out the Nov 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit for the stamps and some of the embellishments, and I really like how it all worked together!
Supplies:
Stamps: 2014 Nov Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Soft Sky & Lost Lagoon
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive & Soft Sky card stocks, All Is Calm DP (retired)
Accessories: Big Shot, Banners Die, Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014), Nov 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit, 2013-2015 In Color Sequins (retired), Glue Dots

Ten pages later, it was past time to call it a night, and I think I definitely added to his scrapbook stash, hahaha...too bad it was only one event!
...and I remembered why I avoid scrapping Christmases....I take waaaay too many pictures!!!
