Man Birthday!

Happy Monday to you! Are you ready for another week? This is our first full week of school and I can tell you we have not adjusted to the new wake-up time...!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday, and this is the card I sent him! I used the Freshly Made Sketch, and I'm getting this in under the wire, but I had to wait to post it til he got it!
His favorite color is yellow, and the camera and globe images suit him for sure!
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, World Map, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Hello Honey
Paper: Hello Honey, Crumb Cake & Baked Brown Sugar card stocks, Park Lane DP
Accessories: Neutral Buttons, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Yes, the inks and card stocks are different...the listed color of brown in the Park Lane DP is Soft Suede. I wanted to use two shades of ink for the images, to make the camera stand out more. I also wanted the map more subtle, hence the tone on tone. I noticed how nicely the Crumb Cake card stock went with the DP so I used that. Annnd the Baked Brown Sugar was simply the wrong package of brown- I thought I was using Soft Suede til I went to put the scrap back- whoops! haha...but I think it worked out just fine!

Blog Hop: New Catalog!!!!!

The new catalog starts TODAY!!!! *squeal! We are so excited to feature the brand spankin' new products that we are using our blog hop to show it all off! (that's why we waited til today- thanks for your patience!)
I decided to just use one stamp set, but also feature the new In Colors! Anyone who knows me will not be surprised by my choice to buy this stamp set, haha! Between my train-loving son and own attraction to anything old or nautical there was zero hesitation in this purchase!

This card uses THIS sketch.
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Smoky Slate, Whisper White card stocks

And this card uses a new-to-me sketch found HERE.

I had big plans to use all the new In Colors and all the images in this set, but we have been sooo busy with the end of the school year, and! we've been sick at our house too, so this is all I have for today. Hop on over to Cheryl's blog and see what fun things she has to show off today!

Then check out every one else! You won't want to miss the fun new products! Be sure and let us know what you think of our creations!
And if you don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator already, let me know about getting a catalog into your own hands!

Masculine Cards

Yes, my first Christmas Card Class is tonight!! Are you coming?
In the meantime, here are the final cards from last weeks class! These two are quite masculine, even tho some of the others can certainly be used for men/boys. I find many people struggle with making masculine cards so I thought I'd help my class attendees out! (apparently I like Smoky Slate for guys...)

World Card Making Day 4

Here is the end of my Card Making Day projects. Scroll down to see what you may have missed! Have you made anything fun today?
Well, here's my "winter" card, and again I used a recent Retro Sketch. It didn't come out they way it looked in my head, but it worked out okay anyway, haha. I thought it would make a great 'miss you' kind of card, but honestly it would be good for any masculine occasion.
Supplies:
Stamps: World Map, The Open Sea
Ink: Midnight Muse
Paper: Smoky Slate, Midnight Muse & Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Oval Punch, Dimensionals

Thankful Map

Another sneak peek of my upcoming accessories class.
But mostly, I am SO excited about this stamp set!!! Demonstrators get a sneak peek at products when they release new catalogs and this was part of the preview this summer. I immediately fell in love (I loooove maps!) with this, but it was promptly removed temporarily. Then it came back a day after I placed a big order! I have been waiting quite impatiently for this to be in my hot little hands and ta-da! HOORAY!
I started with the sponging technique. I stamped it in Basic Gray and then sponged ink directly onto the card stock....I have the older, classic ink pads which work so nicely for sponging. And I liked these brads in each point of the punch.
Supplies:
Stamps: World Map, Banner Greetings,
Ink: Basic Gray, Tangerine Tango, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke
Paper: Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Designer Label Punch, Mini Brads, Mat Pack, Hexagon Punch
