...by the fire with care...

Today is Christmas Eve! And I really am 99% ready!! We're still going to bake and frost cookies today, and take a few plates out, but we've taken treats to most of the people we typically visit. I am finishing up one last gift that is largely home-made, but other than that, gifts are wrapped! The kids and I are going to have Christmas classic movies on (Charlie Brown Christmas, White Christmas, Frosty The Snowman...) while we do the cookies and I am excited that is all we have!

So just a bit of inspiration in case you're still looking...!

This card ended up pretty detailed so I went ahead and claimed it for someone specific, hence the number of stockings, hee hee...
Supplies:
Stamps: Festive Fireplace, Jingle All The Way
Ink: Memento Black, Island Indigo, Real Red, Tangelo Twist, Chocolate Chip marker, Soft Suede marker, Real Red marker, Tangelo Twist marker, Hello Honey marker, Crushed Curry marker
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Lost Lagoon, Real Red, Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist card stocks, Nov 2015 Paper Pumpkin (Old Olive stocking)
Accessories: Big Shot, Festive Fireside Framelit Dies

And I ended up needing one more card (how does that happen? I write a list...I make all the cards I need...I don't get addresses for some, I add two...and I end up short on cards???) so I gratefully used the latest sketch from NAC and put this one together for a friend who likes kitties:
Supplies:
Stamps: Festive Fireplace, Happy Scenes
Ink: Memento Black, Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe, Pool Party marker, Real Red marker
Paper: Whisper White card stock, Holiday Fancy Foil Vellum
Accessories: Big Shot, Hearth & Home framelits, Festive Fireside framelits, Hexagon Punch, Dimensionals

I do have a post scheduled for tomorrow (truthfully the last week or so has been scheduled way ahead of time) so feel free to stop by! And if you don't, I hope you have a very merry Christmas too, or just a nice Friday, whoever and wherever you are!

Old Paper Pumpkin!

The very first Paper Pumpkin kit I ever got was November of 2013. It was a Christmas kit which I used, the same way I showed using the most recent kit- cutting the card bases apart to make lots more! hahaha! I also used it on a scrapbook page HERE.

Well, last week I was creating cards fast and furiously, but also had things set aside for my class...and I realized I was going to run out of Dimensionals! ...I use them a lot, apparently. So I went thru ALL my Paper Pumpkin boxes looking for more adhesives. I found enough, haha, but also, I found that I still had some supplies from that first kit! I think I might have intended the stripey DP for scrapbooking but I needed cards made right now, so I put these together! Clearly, I ran out of the original front panel, so I made my own variety, and kept them nice and flat and mailable! *wink!

Home for Christmas...

Today I have a couple cards for you, featuring some more really lovely DP. I used the latest Retro Sketch for these cards, and mixed up the specific supplies - meaning I used the same dies, stamps and DP, but made completely different cards. I love that!
Supplies:
Paper: Whisper White & Pear Pizazz card stocks, Season of Cheer DP
Accessories: Classy Buttons, Linen Thread, Big Shot, Sleigh Ride Edgelit dies

Supplies:
Stamps: Jingle All The Way
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Paper: Whisper White & Soft Sky card stocks, Season of Cheer DP
Accessories: Neutral Buttons, White Bakers Twine, Big Shot, Sleigh Ride Edgelit dies

On a completely personal note... Do I have any readers in Arizona? My cousin lives in Mesa, and she is having a benefit sale this weekend, on both Friday and Saturday, to help raise money so that she and her husband can hopefully become parents. You can read her story HERE. I mailed her a box of cards to sell. If you are in the area and want to check it out, the address is 2118 E Enrose Cir, in Mesa.

Jingle All The Way!

I'm going to be totally honest here...I love this fun stamp and die bundle...but my brain does not know how to make it work! I have seen probably hundreds of ideas between blogs and Pinterest and I love almost all of them...I just can't quite figure it out! Last time I used it I admitted to literally wrestling with it, and this time was no different. So after multiple tries, I think I got it figured out. And that means a bunch of photos for today's post because odds are good I will forget by the time I teach anyone else!
First, the pretty finished product, to show that it really is worth it, if you can make it work, haha! (also, I used a sketch from the Viva La Verve blog for this one)
Supplies:
Stamps: Jingle All The Way
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Very Vanilla, Cucumber Crush, Real Red card stocks, Home For Christmas DP
Accessories: Real Red 1/8 Inch Striped Ribbon, Big Shot, Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies

I mean seriously- that is a really, pretty, perfectly "Christmas"y card!
So here's how I made it...
First, I cut a 3x2.5 rectangle out of Cucumber Crush card stock, and two of the same size out of Very Vanilla card stock.
I ran the die and Cucumber card stock thru the Big Shot and adhered it to the Vanilla mat.
Then I ran the second Vanilla piece thru the Big Shot, and adhered it, making a three layered focal point to the card.
Finally I stamped the fun words!
Then, brilliantly, after putting on the Dimensionals, I realized it would look even better matted on the Real Red card stock...ahem.... And, of course, it DOES!
So again...see how worth it is, making the dies work for you? hahaha....
And that puts us close to the end of the Christmas Card class samples...!

Silent Night

Today's card was one of those I literally wrestled with. I tried several different things trying to make the sketch work and make a card I liked. I also wanted a way to let class attendees use some pretty DP, without knowing how many people plan to attend, haha! After trying multiple things (sponging...negative space...) I ended up altering the sketch, which you can find HERE, and switching the word and die cut pieces completely! But I think I'm happy with it like this.
*and pardon the weird lighting...the sun was already setting by the time I was home and able to photograph the card!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Jingle All The Way
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy card stock,
Accessories: Sleigh Ride Edgelits Die, Big Shot, Dimensionals
