Another Easter Layout

Happy Monday!
I have a simple layout for you this morning. All of the paper here is current, which is not typical for my scrapping. The butterfly stamps are current too! The title stamps, and the dots are not.
When this girl was little, her favorite books were the little Beatrix Potter books, which is exactly what this paper looks like, so I had to get it. And then I didn't use anything particularly Beatrix Potter on her layout, lol... Its still super pretty!
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies, Taffy Alpha (retired), Classic Alpha Numbers (retired)
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Pool Party card stock, Storybook Moments DP
Accessories: Classic Matte Dots (retired)

Here's a close up of this fun paper. I'm still debating on the stamps and dies..... The whole product suite really is SO cute!!
And here's the sheet of die cuts. There are actually two of these sheets, which is fun!
What are you making today?

Santa Scrapping!

I got some scrapping done last week too! Hooray for taking time to do things *I want to do!
So here's the trip to visit Santa in 2019. I love how sweet these photos turned out- she was SO excited to see him!

Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White & Garden Green card stock, Peaceful Prints DP
Accessories: Garden Green 1/8 striped ribbon
journaling font: Felix Titling

I use a lot of retired supplies for my scrapping, and this time is no different. The DP is all from one pack from last year, the ribbon was from a few Christmas's before, and the stamp set is super old.

Blessing an Angel!

Today I'm not featuring my new stamp set. Instead I'm sharing a challenge *I issued my scrappy friends. This page uses a color challenge from Global Design Project, and then a challenge to use supplies that make you think of Valentines, for a non-Valentine project. Everything but the colors are retired, but that is why I keep my retired supplies- for scrapping!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired), Taffy Alphabet (retired),
Ink: Rococo Rose, Sahara Sand, Rococo Rose marker
Paper: Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose
Accessories: Scalloped Lace Trim, Glue Dots, Artisan Embellishment Kit (ribbon roses, Rose die cut, pearls), Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit (heart doilies, glitter dots) (kits both long retired)
Journaling Font: Jennifer Lynne

and some close ups...

So, when I was looking over her blessing pictures and trying to think of a title, this was all that was coming to mind. But I hesitated because I was sure I used it with one of my big kids'...... So I looked at their books and it turned out I used it for BOTH of my big kids, so I could totally use it again, hahaha! And if your curiosity is now piqued, this is how I used it before, back in the dark ages/good old days when I'd print a roll of film and scrap it within the week.......

a kind of long time ago
and a really long time ago.

Mother's Day 2018

I hit my January scrapbooking goal today with this page!
I had forgotten that these pictures were printed and I decided to use my current favorite floral stamp set to make this page. It's simple but I think it turned out pretty. And strangely, for scrapbooking for me, the only retired product here is the alphabet set! Hooray!

Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies, Taffy Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz, Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow marker
Paper: Petal Pink & Whisper White
Accessories: Basic Pearls

New Paper Pumpkin Scrapping!

I've been doing a lot of crafting with Paper Pumpkin kits lately! Sometimes I follow the directions, sometimes I make my own whatever. When the newest Paper Pumpkin kit arrived this week, even tho this kit is designed for gift cards and gift tags, I knew I wanted those cute pieces in a scrapbook! I was excited to discover I had already printed pictures of last year's graham cracker houses, and today I got a chance to do that!

Supplies:
Stamps: Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin kit, Taffy Alphabet (long retired)
Ink: Cinnamon Cider, Blushing Bride
Paper: Blushing Bride card stock, Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin kit, White Velvet paper (retired)
Accessories: Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin kit

Here's a close up of each page...

and an even closer up of the kit pieces! There are three cute houses and fronts, some stamps to make it fancier, and the super adorable candy stickers!

Parade Pages!

Happy Monday to you! I have got to get some stamping done this week, but since I haven't done that yet here's another day of scrapbook inspiration for you!

Today's layout was for a challenge to use "sunburnt country colors. Bonus if you add coral or things found in the ocean." So for sunburnt, I used the hot yellow, the dusty cajun and the dark gray band paper. Then I have a pop of light blue for the ocean! I like that I turned the journaling sideways to do something a little different on this layout.
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet (retired!)
Ink: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Daffodil Delight & Whisper White card stocks, Adventure Bound DP (retired!), misc band DP
Journaling Font: Parade

Don't forget, there's only one week left for BONUS DAYS! That means one week to earn your $5 coupon, every time you spend $50 (before tax and shipping). Let me know if you need help placing your order!

Band Parades

This week has had a little summer fun going on with the kids, which means no crafting time for me. So, here's some more band pages today! Here are some parade pages, before parade season starts up again......
here's hoping anyway, huh??!

This first one is super basic...

Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet

And this second one was for a challenge:
I took "using sunburnt country colours. Bonus if you add coral or things found in the ocean."
I used the hot yellow, cajun craze and the dark gray band paper for sunburnt colors, with a pop of blue for the ocean.
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet
Ink: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Daffodil Delight & Whisper White card stocks, Adventure Bound DP (retired), local scrapbook store DP

Swim Pages!

I think we can finish up the swim pages today...
The first layout was done in March. I went to this meet.
This page was done in May, in my cram session. This was his very last high school swim meet, and we all went to it, even tho it was held over an hour away. I think we've made it to this meet every year... and this is the first time I'm getting the event scrapped...
This was the state meet, which only a few people on the team get to participate in, so he took the pics himself.
The title stamps and the DP are all long-retired Stampin' Up! supplies, but the swim themed stickers come from the local scrapbook store. And I used the same typed font (called Throw My Hands Up In The Air) for all the swim pages, which is funny because I made a point to mix them up with band pages...
Anyway. There's three more shared. I hope you get to create this weekend!

April Fools!

I really don't do anything for April Fools Day. One year that my son told me he was really looking forward to it "tomorrow" I made him a weird lunch, haha, But that's it. This year, being quarantined, I thought it might be a good and simple "break" from everything. So I had to scrap it for my son too!

I used these strips of this old, but fun and bright DP (so old I don't know what it was called...) and I mixed up some alphabet stamps for the title to keep the silly feeling. Then the journaling is my instagram post. Super simple, and something fun.
Supplies:
Stamps: Peachy Keen, ABC123 Sketch alphabet, Whimsical Upper alphabet, Taffy Alphabet (all long retired)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Sweet Taffy DP (retired)
Journaling font: Kristen

and a couple close ups...

Stamps: Beautiful Moments, Taffy Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Rococo Rose & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Buttons (retired)
Stampin' Blends: Bronze, Dark & Light Blackberry Bliss, Dark & Light Night of Navy, Light Old Olive, Light Petal Pink, Dark So Saffron

Christmas in...August?

I don't know if you have noticed the lack of scrapbooking as much as I have, but I have definitely been missing it...! Yesterday after church my kids pulled out scrapbooks. While listening to my son carry on about how he remembers this and this, I was noticing all the "in-betweens" that weren't scrapped yet...and feeling a little guilty that I'm so far behind... And suddenly, he noticed too! haha! When there's one layout separating two Halloweens...and only a few between birthdays...yeeeeah, I have a lot of work to do!
So! Later in the evening, I pulled out my son's box of printed, un-scrapped photos, and got some pages done! ...with an emphasis on Christmas, apparently...! But hey, he now has all of Christmas 2010 scrapped and THAT is a good thing!

As my starting point, I turned to challenges on Splitcoaststampers.com. These two pages obviously use the same sketch, just flipped. And I used a "stashbusters challenge" too! Which means the supplies used are now retired, altho there IS a new Project Life kit on page 37 of the new Holiday Mini!
I used 3 colors of cardstock, 2 tags, 3 types of accents (punches, sequins and stickers) and I stamped the title!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini ABC
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Old Olive card stocks
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Glue Dots, Hello December Project Life cards (2014), Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014)

These two pages are the same paper layout and I kept it very simple. This time I used the retired All Is Calm DP, and the same PL Accessory kit as before. All the little sticker labels come from it, and I think they're so cute!
Supplies:
Paper: Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler card stocks, All Is Calm DP
Accessories: Hello December Project Life cards (2014), Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014)

Next up are eeeeven simpler pages, letting the Christmas Morning photos be the star!
Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy Alphabet (long retired)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler card stocks
Accessories: Holly Berry Bouquet buttons (long retired)

The fourth in this series (yes really) kept with another very simple layout, but I used several accessories.
Supplies:
Paper: Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Hello December Project Life cards (2014), Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014), Glue Dots

Finally, for this layout, I used THIS sketch, and really played it up I think...Since I knew I was going to need to seriously embellish the layout, I picked another Stashbuster Challenge. This time I used 2 patterned papers, die cut accents, sticker accents, stamped accents...and sequins and washi tape! I pulled out the Nov 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit for the stamps and some of the embellishments, and I really like how it all worked together!
Supplies:
Stamps: 2014 Nov Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Soft Sky & Lost Lagoon
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive & Soft Sky card stocks, All Is Calm DP (retired)
Accessories: Big Shot, Banners Die, Hello December Project Life Accessory kit (2014), Nov 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit, 2013-2015 In Color Sequins (retired), Glue Dots

Ten pages later, it was past time to call it a night, and I think I definitely added to his scrapbook stash, hahaha...too bad it was only one event!
...and I remembered why I avoid scrapping Christmases....I take waaaay too many pictures!!!

May Is...!

MAY IS NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING MONTH!

Since this is actually my favorite past time, I can't just let this slip by without some serious fun attention! This time around I set some lofty goals to be able to show you a new scrapbook page each day. Let's see how I do... (not to mention how exciting it will be to get 31 new pages done!!!) So this page was done in April and saved for today.

I thought the bright colors help convey the hot summer evening we're enjoying in these pictures. Is it still cold where you are? We had snow twice last week... ugh! Altho better than tornados, so I'm done complaining!!! The stamp sets are retired and the stickers come from the SAB Simply Scrappin kit which just retired, but hey, using stash is a great thing to do with your scrapbooks. That way you "keep" the stuff you're hoarding, and use it up at the same time! Everybody wins!
 Supplies:

Stamps: Taffy Alphabet, Sweet Scoops
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizazz, Old Olive
Paper: Daffodil Delight & Whisper White card stocks, Ice Cream Parlor Simply Scrappin Kit

Then, you want to hear a tip I just came up with the night I made this page? Remember before the whole acid-free freak out we used to write on the backs of our photos? ...you don't still do that, do you? it scares me a little... anyway, since these are the friends my kids play with today but when any of us moves away names will eventually be forgotten, I put names on the back of the page, just like I used to do with the snapshots! Clever, huh? Of course. hahaha...!

2011

I am one of those people who really enjoys setting new goals and making to-do lists. I welcome the new year (or the new school year, or whatever) to start fresh and assess my life and where I can improve. If you spend much time in the blog world, you'll know that a word for the year is a popular concept. I've thought about doing this for the last couple years and then this year came to a strong conclusion that my word would be TIME. And I decided to scrap it. I may put it on my wall to keep my focus, we'll see...

Two random good things about this layout- it is probably the first ME layout since I got married. I scrap just about everything, but nothing is about just ME. Also, I have my standard page layouts and then I play with sketches, but I've never been inspired by something to make a page out of it. This page? I copied the layout from a loading internet screen. hahaha!

a little detail...Smooch spritz is more than a little unpredictable, but I still like it, lol!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sense of Time, Vintage Vogue, Taffy Alphabet - retired
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, Chocolate taffeta ribbon - retired

Sentimental Journey!

This is my newest stamp set! We got to play with it in my May classes...take a look!
The pages use the collage stamping technique which is one of my favorites when I have a LOT of scrapping to do. Its adds color and a touch of something unique without being overwhelming.

The card also totally qualifies for the OCC Saturday Challenge- to make a masculine birthday card. This one is for my brother!
And, if you notice on the card...Sentimental Journey is one of the sets which if you buy during the month of May you can choose a set of designer brads for FREE! I got those neat star brads FREE. Yeay!

Scrapbook Challenges!!

If you've read my blog for the past year, you probably know that I belong to an online scrapbook goal group on another website. It just means we set a monthly goal and are "accountable" to each other, and we cheer each other on for making our goal and getting pages done and stuff. Its been great because I've gotten SO much work done on our scrapbooks, and that is why I got into all this stamp stuff in the first place. LOL.
Well, a part of this group participates in the Virtual Scrap Book Night (vsbn). This time they were seriously lacking hostesses, so I volunteered! eeeek! I am SO excited, and a little nervous!!! But if you go HERE you can see 16 brand new challenges to get your scrapping groove on! They all have a reality tv theme, but you'd be amazed what you can come up with for them! My challenge will be posted at 8am tomorrow! I would love for you to come play too! Post the picture to the site, to your own blog, or email me a pic! *grin
As hostess, we get to see each other's challenges a head of time so that we can get them worked on, and focus on hostessing when its our turn, instead of working. So here are my two of my challenge submissions! Expect to see more scrapping in days to come!
"Who Do You Think You Are?" Supplies: Stamps: Just Perfect Alphabet Ink: Night of Navy Paper: Bordering Blue & Whisper White card stocks Accessories: Eggcellent Eggs Kit for the rhinestones

April Scrapbook Class

Last month in my scrapbook classes I pretty much kept them CAS- clean and simple. I discussed the basics of scrapbooking, and also showed using a Simply Scrappin' Kit. This time, I wanted to focus more on using your stamps in your scrapbooking. No better way than showing how to make your own Designer Paper!
You can find ALL KINDS of DP in any craft store. Stampin' Up! always has a beautiful -and broad- selection, always in our fun colors. But sometimes you can't find the *right* colors, or the *right* images for the page you are trying to create. So make your own! Yeay!
So for my 12x12 page I used the apple image...

Supplies: Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Taffy Alphabet Ink: Real Red, Certainly Celery Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White Accessories: Real Red striped grosgrain ribbon
And for my 8.5x11 I used the cherries.

Supplies: Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Just Perfect Alphabet Ink: Real Red, Certainly Celery Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White Accessories: Real Red striped grosgrain ribbon
Same basic supplies, same basic layout, and two different looks! And SO easy to customize!

One Page Three Ways

At my scrapbook class this past Saturday they wanted 12x12 pages. This coming Saturday attendee's want 8.5x11 size pages. So I had to find a way to make all of the same pages, but smaller. My pages are of three totally separate events, but here's how I did it....
the 12x12...

one 8.5x11 (this is for my son's book! Want to use pink and glitter with your boys? Throw in shots with his sister, mother or grandmother, and its all good!)

the other way to do an 8x.5x11...

Supplies:
Stamps: Taffy ABC Ink: Chocolate Chip Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip & Real Red card stocks, Sending Love DP Accessories: Real Red Epoxy Brads, Mat Pack

This glittery paper is so much fun!! It seriously makes me so happy! LOL! its glittered and like, heat embossed so there is actual texture to it. So cool! I love the specialty line of DP Stampin' Up! has offered!
