A Valentines Page

Today I have a scrapbook page for you.
This one used up some "mistakes" I made back in January for THIS card. I even state in the post that I tried three times, haha! I kept those mistakes and then die cut a bunch of hearts out for my page today.

Supplies:
Stamps: Alphabet Appeal Lower (retired), Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Sweet Sorbet (retiring!)
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock
Accessories: Resin Hearts (retired), Heart framelit dies (retired), big shot (retired)

And as a reminder, haha, everything here is retired because my retired stash IS for my scrapbooks. Altho that ink is still available if you're interested!!

Paper full of flowers!

Hello again! Today I have the stamp set from the bundle mentioned yesterday. I used the TGIF Challenge for a card front covered in something - in my case, flowers! And that makes it a perfect match for the Paper Players challenge of spring flowers!
Supplies:
Stamps: Layers of Beauty
Ink: Memento Black, Flirty Flamingo
Stampin' Blends: Light & Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light & Dark Pumpkin Pie, Light & Dark Old Olive, Dark Daffodil Delight
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Basic White card stocks

A set of Masks!

Happy Tuesday! Today I have an upcoming product for you! In the new catalog there is a bundle of a stamp set, dies, and coordinating masks, and I decided this would be something fun.

For my first go, I used the color combo from the As You See It Challenge altho I did add a bit of green ink too. It also works perfectly with the Inspire.Create.Challenge to use something new. And! this card goes with the leaves and flowers part of Just Add Ink's challenge!

Supplies:
Stamps: Layers of Beauty
Ink: Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Bubble Bath, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight.
Paper: Basic White card stock
Accessories: Dimensionals, Blending Brushes

I have to add, I love the tools that get the men stamping. When I held workshops, my husband, my dad, and other people's husbands always got a big kick out of the paper crimper and the heat tool. Today my son was super interested in the Blending Brush to get this look, and asked to help! He did the bigger layer of Granny Apple Green leaves. I love that!

Thankful Wreath

Today I have new stamps, new DP and new In Colors for you!!
And I played with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches and Festive Friday (orange, green, enamel dots and thread) to create this!
Supplies:
Stamps: Encircled in Nature
Ink: Shy Shamrock, Peach Pie and Pebbled Path
Paper: Basic White card stock, Unbounded Beauty DP
Accessories: 2024-26 In Color Resin Dots, White Bakers Twine, Encircled In Nature dies, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, big shot (retired)

The stamp and die bundle actually come from the Online Exclusives. I see a lot of potential with this one! This is not at all how I thought I'd start with it, but I think it worked nicely anyway.

Happy Daisies!

I'm so glad I finally got these daisies AND I'm glad they're sticking around another year!!
Today I have two cards that are almost identical, other than color combinations. And that the top daisy is different.... In both cases I used Blending Brushes to add the third color to the background of the card.

Altho I'm too late, I still used this sketch from Just Add Ink, and then this card uses the color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments
Supplies:
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies
Ink: Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Garden Green
Paper: Basic White card stock
Accessories: Cheerful Daisies dies, Dimensionals, Blending Brush, big shot (retired)

while this card uses the color challenge from Global Design Project
Supplies:
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies
Ink: Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly, Balmy Blue
Paper: Basic White card stock
Accessories: Cheerful Daisies dies, Dimensionals, Blending Brush, big shot (retired)

Something x6

I had seen this sketch from TGIF Challenges floating around social media and wondered what on earth I would use for those six "things" at the bottom.... and then I had two ideas! ha!

First I made this fun kid card using the color combo from The Paper Players. Well, almost... I swapped out Lost Lagoon for Bermuda Bay because my display board was wiped completely clean with the new catalog, and this card is going on the board- so that's how I kept it all 'current'.
Supplies:
Stamps: Kiddin' Around
Ink: Lost Lagoon
Paper: Basic White, Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo card stocks
Accessories: Kiddin' Around dies, Glue Dots

Then I made this autumny birthday card, with a brand new leaf die. This is part of a fun new bundle in the upcoming catalog. I sponged the inks onto the card stock, then randomly placed the leaf die to get different shades. Then I decided I liked the swishy ink at the edge of where I had sponged, so I kept that for the rectangle strip on the card sketch!
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Said
Ink: Copper Clay, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wheat
Paper: Cajun Craze & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Layers of Beauty dies, Stampin Sponges (retired), big shot (retired)

And I must say, I love how you can use one sketch and get completely different cards!!

Butterfly Birthday

Happy Monday! Ready for a new week?
I told you I needed birthday cards right now, haha, because here's another one for the SUO Challenge! This time I used the great sketch from Inspire.Create.Challenges and dug into the WABAC for a whole lotta retired supplies. One ink and the card stock is all that's current. But I needed some soft blues and a pretty butterfly, and this worked great.
Supplies:
Stamps: Happiness Abounds, Strength & Hope (both retired)
Ink: Pool Party, Soft Suede (retired)
Paper: Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Every Day Enchantment DP (retired)
Accessories: Paper Pumpkin Twine (retired)

Bonus Flowers, round 3

Here is the final (for now anyway) of these flowered cards. This is actually what I envisioned as soon as I saw the big daisies. I used the Blending Brushes for the colored strip and then just stamped it right on top! Quick, easy, and pretty!
And because I like how it turned out, I'm going to put it in with the current SUO Challenge to make birthday cards!

Supplies:
Stamps: March 2024 Paper Pumpkin extra stamps, Beside Me
Ink: Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Misty Moonlight & Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Tinsel Gems 3-Pack, Blending Brushes

Bonus Flowers, round 2

Happy Friday! Maybe we made it...!

Today I've got my second card with this flower image. This time I used the latest from CAS Colours & Sketches. I also tried the "Spotlight Technique", altho I didn't like the result til I used a Blending Brush to add the Soft Seafoam ink, which creates the "spotlight". I also used the words that came in the same Paper Pumpkin kit.
Supplies:
Stamps: March 2024 Paper Pumpkin and extra stamps
Ink: Early Espresso, Soft Seafoam, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Soft Seafoam & Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils II, Blending Brush

Bonus Flowers, round 1

March is Paper Pumpkin's anniversary month, so to celebrate, I think they have sent out a bonus stamp set, in addition to a monthly subscription, every single year! I really liked the flowers included this round and I really wanted to play with them, once I finally got some crafting time. That means I have a few posts with the same happy flowers coming up!

This first one uses the latest from Freshly Made Sketches, as well as the latest from Color Throwdown. It also works great for the SUO Challenges, and I am in need of some birthday cards!

I had originally made it a single layer card, but decided it really needed more than that, so I trimmed it down and placed it on a Melon Mambo card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: March 2024 Paper Pumpkin extra stamps, Kiddin' Around
Ink: Memento Black, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green
Paper: Melon Mambo & Basic White card stock

4th of July!

We're on Spring Break this week, and I haven't made anything new in a little while, so here's a layout I made digitally in December.
I love doing this because how else can I fit this many photos on a single layout?? That, and I only had to design it once, print it four times and now everyone has our 4th of July! I added a typed up square of journaling to the bottom right corner.
Supplies:
MDS, Pocket card download from Persnickety Prints

Dance Recital!

Happy Monday and happy Spring Break around here!

Today I'm going to share a scrapbook layout that is an interesting kind of hybrid project. Since this was for dance, I knew I wanted a glimmery kind of purple for the background, but I didn't have anything that was right. I knew I had "Glimmer Paper" in MDS... so I changed the Gold Glimmer paper to Elegant Eggplant and then I just printed those two sheets, hahaha!! Then I glued the photos and the circles down and I always tape the ribbon. So the layout was made traditionally, on Digital paper I digitally altered, ha!
Supplies:
Paper: Basic Black card stock, Gold Glimmer paper recolored to Elegant Eggplant in MDS (retired!)
Accessories: Crochet Ribbon, Circle dies, Big Shot (all retired)

Art Festival

Today I've got a layout I made earlier this month. I believe this DP was from Sale-A-Bration last year, but I thought it worked perfectly with these photos. Everything you see here is retired, except the ink, ha. But that is what my retired crafting stash is for- scrapbooks!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Just Perfect Alpha (retired)
Ink: Fresh Freesia
Paper: Basic White, Pear Pizazz (retired), Dandy Designs DP (retired)
Accessories: Subtles Candy Dots (pink pirouette dots) (retired)

Birthday Girl!

I needed a happy birthday card and I've had this DP sitting with this little girl since January, so clearly it was time to put them together!
However, in my attempt to "use all the pinks!" on this card, they don't actually work, ha... I used Berry Burst card stock to go with the DP, but I don't have Berry Burst blends, I have Melon Mambo, so I just grabbed that... hmm. There's a reason we sell so many items in each color! But, since I was already breaking all the color rules, I grabbed a super soft pink shade that has retired, to blend onto the piece with the girl. haha! it's fiiine. The birthday girl won't mind!
Supplies:
Stamps: Kiddin' Around
Ink: Memento Black, Powder Pink (retired)
Stampin' Blends: Dark & Light Melon Mambo, Light Petal Pink, Light Flirty Flamingo, Bronze, Color Lifter, Dark Daffodil Delight
Paper: Basic White, Berry Burst, Bright & Beautiful DP
Accessories: Blending Brushes, old Paper Pumpkin gems, Circle dies, Dimensionals

Paper Pumpkin!

The newest kit arrived the same day I started making cards again, haha, so last Monday morning I cracked it open and got to work!

First of all, when they print full card bases like that, I really feel like no one is ever going to look at the back. So I started by cutting them all in half to make two card fronts!
I stamped every pre-die-cut greeting piece and with double the card fronts, completed 12 cards instead of the intended 9!

Supplies:
March 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit
Stamps: PP Kit, Perennial Postage
Ink: Garden Green, Gorgeous Grape
Paper: Basic White card stock

I have selected some for some upcoming birthdays and things, and the others are just in my stash. And I still have this much left over! I am thinking those gorgeous "card fronts" might end up on a few scrapbook layouts...!

Featuring: Tahitian Tide

Since the end of the catalog year is fast approaching, I'm going to hold a card class focusing on the soon-to-retire 2022-2024 In Colors.
I like Tahitian Tide, but sometimes it feels too bright for what I typically make. And sometimes it is so perfect I can't imagine how else to use this stamp set, haha!
This time I combined this wave with the Postage dies for a different look than I've done before. What do you think?

Supplies:
Stamps: Waves of Inspiration
Ink: Tahitian Tide
Paper: Basic White, Tahitian Tide card stocks
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Perennial Postage Dies, Dimensionals

And now you've seen my whole class! Wanna come??

Featuring: Starry Sky

Since the end of the catalog year is fast approaching, I'm going to hold a card class focusing on the soon-to-retire 2022-2024 In Colors.
Starry Sky is one of my all time favorite shades of blue. I tend to like the blues anyway, and this is rich and gorgeous. It is so good for sky, water, masculine, you name it. I will miss this one!

This is also a remake of a monochromatic card I made before, because I am telling you what- being sick took all the creativity out of me! But this time I went with Starry Sky, and a bit of ribbon.
Supplies:
Stamps: In The Moment
Ink: Starry Sky
Paper: Starry Sky, Basic White
Accessories: Starry Sky Metallic ribbon, Timeworn Type embossing folder, Dimensionals

I will say, I designed this class before the retiring lists were released and originally thought I'd use a different stamp set. But then I decided to switch to an out-going set, that honestly works almost the same. So my original plan, and text for the blog, ha, was this:
Since this is for a class, I want people to feel free to choose which image suits them best, and which greeting too. So I went ahead and showed that any of the options work. Also, any way you choose to lay out the two white shapes works just fine. When I hold classes like this, I have the white pieces prepped ahead of time, and in this case the ribbon will also be pre-cut.

Bonus- I have some masculine birthday and Father's Day cards ready to go!

Featuring: Parakeet Party

Since the end of the catalog year is fast approaching, I'm going to hold a card class focusing on the soon-to-retire 2022-2024 In Colors.
Today I have Parakeet Party, which is a very bold, bright shade. I definitely haven't used it much. This card is also a remake of a card I made before, but again using different colors. It's a very mailable design! The butterflies are flat, so that's perfect.

I really love making a garden with these flowers, and this time I stuck with shades of pink.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Parakeet Party, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly
Paper: Parakeet Party & Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Brass Butterflies

Featuring: Orchid Oasis

Since the end of the catalog year is fast approaching, I'm going to hold a card class focusing on the soon-to-retire 2022-2024 In Colors.
I do like Orchid Oasis, but I don't find myself using it much. The word that comes to mind most is "pleasant". It's a calm kind of color amidst these super brights.

And therefore, I remade a design I've done previously to show off the softness of this color in a class. I made this rectangle by laying post-it notes down, lining them up with the grid on the scratch paper. Then I used a blending brush to make the background, darker toward the bottom. I stamped this leafy image on the side, and then a greeting- and class attendees can use which ever greeting they like. Then a few In Color pearls and it's done! Also nicely mailable, altho occasionally round embellishments like that can cause an issue.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lighting The Way
Ink: Orchid Oasis
Paper: Basic White card stock
Accessories: In Color Pearls, Blending Brush

Monday, March 18, 2024

Featuring: Sweet Sorbet

Since the end of the catalog year is fast approaching, I'm going to hold a card class focusing on the soon-to-retire 2022-2024 In Colors.
Today's card shows off Sweet Sorbet! I really like this color, but honestly I'm not sure I used it a whole lot.  But I do like this bold color combo with a bit of black and white!
Supplies:
Stamps: Cheerful Daisies
Ink: Sweet Sorbet, Memento Black
Paper: Sweet Sorbet, Basic Black, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Classic Matte Dots, Cheerful Daisies Dies, Dimensionals
I tried two ways of making this card and *I have a strong favorite. Do you?

Birthday Flower Garden!

Oh my word I am so done with being sick! For close to a month I have only been doing the bare minimum around here, and sleeping a crazy lot. Crafting is not on that list. Keeping the rest of the house healthy IS. I did have a few good days over my birthday thank goodness, and then right back to maybe worse than before. But I THINK I'm through it now and hey look- I got a birthday card made! I only need four more to catch up for this month.... yikes.
I think I can... I think I can...

For this card I combined the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the latest colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments, and this is my result! Bit chaotic, but I think these colors are perfect for the birthday girl!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Timeworn Type embossing folder, Circle dies, Dimensionals

Sale-A-Bration Scrapping!

Happy March! annnd it's finally winter at my house! ha!

Sometimes life is just so busy, and Sale-A-Bration goes by so quickly, that we don't always get to play with the things while they're current!
That and I was sick for over a week...blah!
But this past weekend included my birthday, and the TWENTY year anniversary of me becoming a demonstrator (nope, cannot believe that!!), so I played with some new paper and scrapbooked, which is my favorite!

In this case, I used some very old photos with this new (and already retired! sniff!) DP and made an almost matching layout for each of my two kids who were there, ha.
Supplies:
Stamps: Whimsical Alpha Lower (retired)
Ink: Copper Clay
Paper: Copper Clay, Very Vanilla, Sunny Days DP SAB 2024 (retired)
Accessories: Embroidered Ribbon (retired)
Font: Aptos

Supplies:
Stamps: Whimsical Alpha Lower (retired)
Ink: Pebbled Path
Paper: Crushed Curry, Pebbled Path, Basic White, Sunny Days DP SAB 2024 (retired)
Accessories: Embroidered Ribbon (retired)
Font: Aptos

These photos have been printed and sitting for over a decade so I was super glad to get them scrapped!
And yes, I know which photo is "missing" from my daughter's layout- it is already in her scrapbook, as part of things she shared on a school poster, back when the photos were current, haha!

Wizard Birthday

Ugh- it has been a month of sickness around here. A week of migraines for me, a week of two sick kiddos, and then a week of me sick! RUDE. Hence a lack of doing anything at all, especially creating.

I did get one card made yesterday, using the latest CAS Colours & Sketches. Well... it says to put the sentiment in the middle, and I did...with a bunch of other things too. But I am seriously loving this bundle and I love what I made here:
Supplies:
Stamps: Kiddin' Around
Ink: Memento Black, Blackberry Bliss, Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia
Blends: Dark & Light Blackberry Bliss, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark & Light Flirty Flamingo, Dark Petal Pink, Ivory, Bronze
Paper: Basic White, Lemon Lolly, Blueberry Bushel, Daffodil Delight & Poppy Parade card stocks, Gold & Rose Gold Metallic paper (retired)
Accessories: Blending Brush, Kiddin' Around dies, Glue Dots, big shot

Postage Thank You!

Happy Monday!
I'm back with more of that Detailed Dogwood stamp set, (because we're even closer to the end of Sale-A-Bration 2024) but this time I chopped it up with postage stamps! I used the colors from Color Throwdown for this one and it's already gone out in the mail!

Supplies:
Stamps: Detailed Dogwood (Sale-A-Bration), Perennial Postage
Ink: Sweet Sorbet
Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic White
Accessories: Linen Thread, Perennial Postage Dies, Dimensionals

I did scoot the cut paper in the die, to trim off one of the edges from the top larger rectangle, to make it fit better in this grid. It's not perfect, but I like it anyway.

Floral Birthday

Sale-A-Bration is fast coming to an end! Have you placed your orders and gotten your freebies? Don't forget the extra's they added in February! Let me know if you need help placing an order, so you don't miss out!

This is my favorite of the Sale-A-Bration exclusives this year- making this card perfect for the latest TGIF Challenge. It is also a gorgeous floral, making it perfect for the SUO Challenge, ha! And the colors make it perfect for a special person's birthday card! Maybe you can see the dragonflies stamped in Blackberry ink on the Blackberry card base? It is dark and trying to storm today so taking a decent picture was a trick.
Supplies:
Stamps: Detailed Dogwood, Enjoy the Rhythm (the birthday greeting)
Ink: Memento Black, Blackberry Bliss
Stampin' Blends: Bronze, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light & Dark Blackberry Bliss, Light & Dark Old Olive
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Early Espresso, Basic White

Its Your Birthday!

I needed a card for a little girl and really, this set is so perfect! The color combo from The Paper Players, combined with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches worked beautifully! I kind of had to sneak the Smoky Slate in- but I used it to ink the edges of the rectangle with the girl.
Supplies:
Stamps: Kiddin' Around
Ink: Memento Black, Berry Burst, Smoky Slate
Stampin' Blends: Light Petal Pink
Paper: Bubble Bath & Basic White card stocks, Bright & Beautiful DP
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils (Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Rich Razzleberry-retired), Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Berry Burst ribbon- retired from a PP kit

Happy Scrapping!

I am absolutely in love with this Kiddin' Around Suite! This is the most basic way to use it in a scrapbook page, but I think it turned out cute.
I don't even know who took these pictures of my daughter laughing, or why, but I thought they were so happy and that it should be scrapped! So I added some strips of these cute kids having fun, and a couple happy phrases from the stamp set.
The tilted layout is inspired by my Scrappy friend Cheryl. Tho I guess it was originally from pagemaps. You can see her original layout HERE
And side note, I use my retired products specific for scrapbooking. So even though the focus is on this brand new product suite, there are still some retired items here.
Supplies:
Stamps: Kiddin' Around, Seasonal Snapshot 2015 (long retired)
Ink: Berry Burst
Paper: Basic White, Berry Burst card stocks, Just Kiddin' DP
Accessories: Silver Metal Edge Tags (long retired), Berry Burst baker's twine (from a PP kit), 2016-18 In Color Enamel Shapes (long retired)

Paper Pumpkin Scrapping!

Paper: Basic White
Accessories: Paper Pumpkin Aug 2017

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Pumpkin Aug 2017

And even after using some up, I still have lots more!

Another Paper Pumpkin!

This kit came February 2023 and I finally got it done AND sent out a handful too!
This kit is unique in that each card is a window card on the front, and the rest of the scene is inside the card. They're super cute cards but to be totally honest, I don't love that it leaves NO room to write a message....I ended up flipping it over and writing it on the back, so do that before you add rain drops!

I did make two of this rainbow card ages ago, but I cut off the front frame/window parts. I made both of these last year:

And these I made this past week. This was made exactly how it was designed.
Of these, the center was made as designed, the others left off the epoxy rain drop stickers... and also these use stamped greetings from other sets, rather than the kit.
And of these, the first is made as designed. The other two, I left off the green hill, and the third I put a duck instead of a bunny, because I'd used the bunny on the card last year. And again the third used a different stamped greeting.
And here's what is left over for whatever else I decide!
Paper Pumpkin kits really are worth their price, and come with a stamp set and ink you can use for endless projects! And if you sign up now, you can earn FREE Sale-A-Bration items with a prepaid 3,6 or 12 month purchase!

Paper Pumpkin again!

I am in need of a few specific cards, but I really haven't had a lot of time to spend stamping. This is when those stack of old Paper Pumpkin kits are so helpful! The kit I chose to play with first arrived December 2017. ha. I did make all of one of the two original cards, and mailed them out already. But I had plenty more to play with today!

First, to finish up that first design, I made this:
It had originally been a window card with die cuts out of the Crumb Cake, and the leaves had been die cut backwards, so they sent two sets of the leaves. I layered a correct one and a mistake one on top of a freshly cut Crumb Cake base and voila!

Then, I made the second set. I'm guessing I hadn't before because it isn't a mail-able size and I really mail just about every card I send out. So I made the original design, but stuck it on a standard sized Berry Burst base instead. I did trim the glitter paper (behind the PeekABoo Peach stripes) so that I could use it elsewhere... like on the card above! And I trimmed the greetings "to size" instaed of using the whole strip.
And then I was left with this much!
Adhesive strips, envelopes too small to mail, Calypso Coral squares, one more sheet of leafy die cut, white squares, glitter strips, flagged strips, ribbon, twine, and stamps! The ink spot was long since given away because I had the full size ink pad.
That means, today I altered all five cards from the original, found and trimmed my own card bases, and got all five done in just under an hour. And I'm calling the kit COMPLETE. Not too shabby!!

Visit Santa!

Happy Monday!
