Just becuase!

I got these fun Gorjuss Girls thru Wish-RAK and wanted to play with them! I picked the DP to go with this one and colored her accordingly...I went thru the challenges from last weekend and she didn't fit... I went thru the challenges for this week and she still didn't fit. This was me trying to MAKE her fit on the OCC sketch...and clearly, I missed, lol! She's just too big. Therefore, this card is JUST BECAUSE! hee hee!

And then when an event comes up, I will stamp a greeting vertically down that yellow blank spot!

Whiff of Joy Monday

I got a new camera!!! (insert wild happy dance!) ....now to learn how to use it. sigh. LOL! So far I think its good, I just need to find the correct settings.... I've practiced a lot, thank goodness for digital 'film'! *grin*

So, since I finally get to show you, here is my card for Whiff of Joy Wednesday challenge. This week was to use paper piecing. I am not a huge fan of this technique because I think I really hate cutting, lol! But it was fun to give this cute girl a patterned dress! And yellow and brown is a new color combo for me with this girl. I think I've only done her in blues, pinks and greens! This card is also for the challenge blog design team!!! And, the sketch came from the OCC three Saturdays ago? Goodness....

Supplies: Stamps: Lizzie With Muff (WOJ) Ink: Chocolate Chip, Night of Navy, So Saffron marker Paper: Close to Cocoa & White card stock, Parisian Breeze DP (retiring!) Accessories: Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon, Watercolor Pencils

"Write!"

In high school I took a creative writing class. Twice. (because I loved it, not because I failed it) The end of year assignment took up the whole 4th quarter and we were to write 100 pages of ANYTHING. It could be one long story or play, it could be 100 pages of poetry, essays, short stories, whatever, it just had to be 100 pages of newly written material. That's easy to handle in small doses and the quarter would start out well but by mid-term no one was dong much work in class- juts a lot of chatting. Our teacher would randomly shout "WRITE!" throughout the class period and being the relaxed kind of classroom it was, we'd tell him we didn't have any ideas, or we were all thought-out or whatever, and he was convinced that if we'd just WRITE, then once we'd get going, things would come. Well, tonight lesson? STAMP! Just STAMP! it comes! LOL!

Father's Day is this weekend and I have um...no masculine cards hanging out here. I gotta do SOMETHING...! But I'm tired. its been a really long couple of weeks and I haven't stamped in so long already....... I had no ideas and was surfing for ideas that used stamps I have here...and it wasn't helping. Just kind of making me more tired. So okay, okay, I pulled out two images from Wish-RAK that work really well for men's cards and hello! I love what I did with them! haha! Lets keep going!! ...never mind that its nearly midnight and I have a long day tomorrow too... *wink*.

So. next time you lose your stamping mojo....STAMP! It'll come! hee hee!

I am *hoping* to get a new camera this weekend. Whenever I do, I will post some photos. Maybe not of these cards because well, they should have been in the mail yesterday at the latest... but maybe I can still snap them up in weeks to come when we visit grandparents! But I WILL post SOMETHING. as soon as I can.

Some things

Well, even if I DID have time to stamp yet, I couldn't show you. At least temporarily my camera is broken. Yes, go a head and imagine the tears... lol. My husband fixed it last time, hopefully he can again!!!

But here's a couple things while you wait...since I'm sure someone is out there on the edge of their seat waiting for me to post something I made....LOL!

Remember THIS page? (I know, of course you do, just scroll down!) But guess what?! That page was randomly selected to win for Jennifer's Sketch, but then it was also *chosen* for the SCS challenge that inspired every thing else about the page!!! WOW!!!!

I am really one of those people who admires every one else's work and usually wishes mine was as good! So that is really funny and really amazing to me! YEAY for an awesome page! haha!

Then finally, Andrea gave me two awards. This first one has SERIOUSLY had me stumped. Who am I supposed to pick?! It says something about being no-obligation, but you can't win an award and leave it at that!

So here is the Gift Of Love award...!

Well. Susan and Heather leave me lots of sweet comments so I picked them. :) You are not required to pass it on, just ya know, if you feel like it! hee hee!

Then she gave this Honest Scrap award..haha. Is that because I'm not including more details than the photo description lately? Okay, okay...here are 10 honest facts about me...

1. I *love* to be with my husband and kids. Home is just as good as anywhere. Wish it happened more often.

2. I am more addicted to my computer than I like to admit. Summer is helping cure that one.

3. I love history. Especially our family history. Connected to my love for taking photos and scrapbooking? Definitely.

4. Chocolate calms me. So does cheesecake. (haha- ok, cheesecake doesn't necessarily, but if you want to bring me some, I'd be happy to eat it!)

5. I love music. My newest favorite is David Garrett. Wow.

6. I love going for walks and hikes. I need to do that a LOT more.

7. I have not stamped anything since last Tuesday. By the time this is posted, that will be a full seven days. Yikes!!!

8. I am becoming less helpless every day. I can read a map, plunge a toilet, change a smoke alarm battery............. HAHA!

9. I love to stay up late and sleep in. But I have kids. That doesn't happen much, lol!

10. I am allergic to 98% of the fresh fruits/veggies available in my area. To eat them, they have to be cooked. I don't like cooked veggies.

How was THAT?! yeah that's what I thought. Lots o' honest! HAHA! I think ya'll should play along. Its fun. hee hee. Actually, I saw a scrapbook page...something...that was like a confession kind of layout. Like "here's the REAL me, like it or not". Sounds like a really neat thing to do.

Maybe I can stamp later this week. Nights to come should be long...

Each of the DT has been posting such GORGEOUS cards with the new stamps, called "Women's Delight". They are gorgeous images and so useful for major life events! Go Mom!

This one is from the OCC challenge last week, but it had to be delivered first! :D
I asked for this image on Wish-RAK a long time ago, and then it arrived when my blender pens were no good. So this is the first time I got to play with it. My mom has been doing Weight Watchers for a while now and has sort of plateaued, so I thought maybe some fun card like this might brighten her day. The girl is totally NOT my mom...pig tails? belly shirt? ROFL. But look how happy she is and how hard she's worked...!
It is an odd sort of color combination, but I think it worked out, and when you're making something like this, its nice to use the person's favorite colors, lol!
Supplies:
Stamps: Weightwatchabella (Stamping Bella), Sending Happy Thoughts card kit (retiring!!!) Ink: Black, Ruby Red Paper: Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, Ruby Red, white card stocks Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, EE brads, Fairy Tale ribbon (retired)

Ever After!

"...ever after!" ...its another song in my head, lol. that one comes from Into The Woods...or maybe the Cinema Challenge two weeks ago...or maybe the stamp set I used on the card! haha!

Well, for the challenge you were supposed to use a flourish. My flourish image is being loaned out at the moment so um, you get distressed...? haha.

This is one of those movies I love but I never watch. I am obnoxiously emotional so the whole little girl-daddy thing kills me, and then the shoes/book dilemma... so I just avoid the flick, even tho its downstairs and I really do love it. Yup, I'm cool like that.

So anyway, I picked this awesome Friendly Words wheel because its got that old fashioned touch, but also, Danielle is a loyal friend and its her friends who get her thru it all. Even when her prince is a jerk, she's got her friends. I added the bluebell stamp because it worked. Its just funny that it comes from a set called Ever After. *giggle* I tried to mix in distressed edges because there is that rustic-ness to the movie.

Supplies:

Stamps: Ever After, Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel Ink: Chocolate Chip ink cartridge, Almost Amethyst Paper: Almost Amethyst, Close to Cocoa Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Mat Pack, Jumbo Brads

Blue n' Brown!

I haven't stamped anything in a few days. Its like I've finally gotten spring fever "but it isn't even spring". (it is too hot now to still think Spring) I just can't seem to make myself sit and stamp, even tho I checked out a bunch of challenges and have had ideas floating in my head... just can't quite do anything about it. Sooo, last night I took the opportunity to get some stamping done. Both kids were asleep at a reasonable hour and my husband had to work pretty late, so I was able to get some things done! Posts are scheduled! *grin*

This is for the Whiff of Joy challenge and I'm getting it in barely on time, lol! They wanted brown and blue, which to me "looked" all wintery. haha! I also used the PCP sketch and here's what I came up with! Supplies:

Stamps: Lizzie with Muff (whiff of Joy), Fresh Cuts, Holiday Tag Team (retired) Ink: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze Paper: Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze, Whisper White Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pen, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon Button Bouquet (retiring!!!), Silver Brads, Mat Pack, EE/Neutral buttons (retired)

And my blog friend Bev has more blog-candy to share! better check it out!
