We Create Gratitude Blog Hop

Welcome to another fun Blog Hop!
November already!!! Once again, October seemed to fly by- I had no idea Halloween was only a week away when my friend posted with the same panic! Our costumes were not super well planned, but teenagers are a little tricky that way anyway.

There was a lot we didn't manage to do this October, but, now it's November and a month of gratitude is coming up! Do you do anything like that? We have a can of slips of paper with suggestions for showing gratitude for specific people in our lives, and I've also done years where I post things I am grateful for. I think maybe my favorite was the year I die cut tons of leaves and each day we wrote on a leaf something we were thankful for and stuck it on the inside of the front door. I have a lofty goal to send out thank you cards this month...ideally a different person each day, but we'll see how much I can do. Tho really, any card mailed out to brighten someone's day is a good thing.

Anyway, this month we're doing a Gratitude themed blog hop. For my card, I used the Inky Friends sketch and this beautiful Winter Woods stamp set. I love autumn leaves so that seemed a perfect fit. I sponged Crushed Curry ink on to the doily, but it doesn't show up well. And I'm just going to have to keep doing the thread bits until I get it looking right! ha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Winter Woods, At Home With You
Ink: Early Espresso, Crushed Curry
Paper: Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Pearlized Doilies, Gold Thread, Metallic Sequins, Sponge, Glue Dots

Now hop on over to see what Cheryl has created. Then hop on thru to everyone's blog, and leave us your thoughts!
And have a peaceful November!

At Home With You

How very fitting that the stamp set I'm featuring today is called At Home With You. Because Saturday morning we were given the "all{mostly}clear" to go home!! We are still actually on pre-evacuation status because there's no way of knowing what the fires will do, but! We are home! We are only a 6 minute drive to the school instead of 45-minutes-in-good-traffic.... We are in our own beds with our own toys and books because that is a very important thing to small children. And we're not limited to the clothes that got packed, haha....
And here's an updated view from my back door, taken about an hour ago. You can see there is still some smoldering areas, and maybe you can see the smoke behind that mountain...the fire moved to the back side of these mountains. And still, after all these days, only a shed has been lost. Which is absolutely amazing.

Anyway, last week I did these two Christmas cards for my mom's stash too. I wanted to show off the versatility but still keep them both Christmas. My mom needs a ton of Christmas cards. So, I kept one very simple...
Supplies:
Stamps: At Home With You
Ink: Black Stazon, Real Red, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Real Red & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Blender Pens, At Home Framelits, Big Shot,

...and this one is much more detailed.
Supplies:
Stamps: At Home With You
Ink: Black Stazon, Real Red, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Real Red, Sage Shadow (RETIRED), Crushed Curry and Whisper White card stocks, Wood Textures DP
Accessories: Blender Pens, At Home Framelits, Big Shot

Between us, we got 9 Christmas cards done for her stash last week. Considering we only stamped one afternoon, that's pretty good.
I'm hoping to stamp more this week, but we thought we'd still be evacuated for another week and I gotta say, it was kind of weird just going back to normal this morning, haha....

We Create Fall Blog Hop

On the first of each month, we have a blog hop to inspire your creativity. September is here! This is my very favorite month of the year!
For my card today I wanted to use the At Home With You set, but I tend to get caught up in the details of the door, and I decided I'd rather keep the focus on this cute autumn image. I based my card off last weeks' Freshly Made Sketch, using the pumpkins, flowers and bucket as the three elements, but it isn't exact. The image was colored with the Watercolor Pencils, and then die cut out and popped up on Dimensionals! Anyway, it looks very autumnal to me and that's what I wanted!
Supplies:
Stamps: At Home With You
Ink: Stazon Black, Early Espresso
Paper: So Saffron, Early Espresso & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pen, Gold Thread, Big Shot, Softy Falling Embossing Folder, At Home Dies, Dimensionals

Are you loving that it's finally cooling off, too? Hopefully fall means a little bit more crafting time in my world- how about you?

Hop on over to Cheryl's blog and see what she's created for you. Then hop all the way thru, and leave us your thoughts! We all love comments!

Birthday Door

Happy Friday! Got any fun plans for the weekend? We are working on the basement....and the yard....so we'll see how things end up. But for now I have a cute little card to share.

I have loved this set since the catalog was released, almost a year ago, but I only just got it. That is MY front door, and my door is red, just like the sample in the catalog shows! Of course I'm going to love it! But, the bundled price (with the dies) retires at the end of the month so I decided I'd better buy it with the discount! You can order it HERE.

For this card, I thought it worked with the latest Freshly Made Sketch. I don't own ovals, but the door is fairly centered. The Wood Textures DP, for this door is sticking around, which I am excited about. I pulled out some returning product too- that Mint Macaron is coming back with the new catalog! And, this will be part of my upcoming class.
Supplies:
Stamps: At Home With You, Hardwood
Ink: Memento Black, Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo marker
Paper: Very Vanilla, Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake, So Saffron card stocks, Wood Textures DP
Accessories: At Home dies, Big Shot, Dimensionals

I even stamped on the inside which I almost NEVER do!
