Paper Pumpkin Thanks!

Happy 2024 to you! Yes, we've been here a minute, but I haven't been here, so it still counts! I hope you had a good and safe Christmas and New Years celebration. We've only just gone back to school so I am resetting to a routine again!
~~~
For a few years now I've had a goal to use up my Paper Pumpkin kits throughout the year. Last year I didn't make much of a dent on that, ha, since I did one kit. Ahem. But I needed a birthday card and really didn't have much time, so a kit was my best bet!  and this is an oldie! (August 2017!!)
So to put together a quick birthday card, I cut a white base and a Calypso Coral card front, and then found a big birthday stamp (Perfect Pennants - also very old) and used the bits from this kit. The oval, flowers and leaves came from the kit.
And then a short stack of thank you cards, because that's what was printed and I can always use those!
I do still have one more "thanks" and a few more "congrats" but mostly I'm down to sheets of the flowers and leaves and that's it! I need to use this on a scrapbook layout soon, and then it will be all used up! Yeay!
Paper Pumpkin for Birthdays!
Well, I don't know how your month is going, but I am feeling pretty darn good about working on the goals I set for myself! I have managed to walk every week day, I have read every week day, and I'm doing great with my papercrafting goals too!
Today, in fact, I'm showing off a very old Paper Pumpkin kit I still haven't used all the bits from, hahaha! This was from June of 2015, and this is what I made this past weekend:
Supplies:
Stamps: Party Wishes, Perfect Pennants, Sending You Thoughts
Ink: memento Black, Bermuda Bay, Just Jade
Paper: basic white card stock
Accessories: Happy Thoughts Paper Pumpkin kit (June 2015)
That's six more birthday cards!! And I've selected exactly who three are going to!
And this is what is still left over! But I called it quits, haha....
The DP was all supposed to be envelope liners. The top of the wood bits made the center bottom card. Fun, huh? I am pretty excited. The buttons are in my button jar, the twine is with my other embellishments, and the rest are all flat and fit nicely in my over-full book of bits.
Maybe one of these days I'll get my craft room done and show you what I'm talking about. hahaha... don't hold your breath.... I have other things to do!
Using All the THINGS
I've already mentioned that the first demo and the make & take from Saturday's workshop kept things simple. But for those who already have stamps, ink and paper, and might want some ideas of what to get next, I wanted to feature plenty of THINGS on one card. And here it is:
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate
Paper: Whisper White & Lost Lagoon
Accessories: Big Shot, Banners Die, White Jute Ribbon, Pearls, Dimensionals, Glue Dots
See, not overwhelming at all! But plenty of things to catch your eye! I started by stamping the striped, long pennant onto the card base. I then stamped two of the words from Perfect Pennants and die cut them with the Big Shot, and popped them up on Dimensionals. I love the white jute ribbon, so I added a bit of that too, along with all the pennants. And then a few pearls to just add a bit of something. And, in a workshop setting, it shows off the usefulness of all these items too! Especially when I point out other cards that use the same supplies.
*If I'd had a current Washi Tape, that would have looked cool too!
Bright Butterflies for a Birthday!
I happened to notice that I have a friend's birthday coming up (the part I always miss in sending cards is planning ahead). This person does things for my birthdays and my daughter's so I let my daughter choose the supplies. I told her to pick a stamp set and three colors of ink. Um, who needs a challenge site when you have a creative kid who likes things differently than you do? hahaha!! These are bright colors I would never have put together. She wanted these three butterflies, the hearts and that word stamp...HMMM. After a couple of tries I think I made it all work together with the latest Nacho Average Challenge sketch!
Supplies:
Stamps: Papillion Potpourri, Perfect Pennants
Ink: Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Cucumber Crush
Paper: Cucumber Crush, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White card stock, In Color Envelope Paper
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Dimensionals
Watercolor Print!
My classes yesterday were so much fun! Thanks to all who came! For the rest of you, here is the fourth card we made at the class, and possibly my favorite! This card uses the latest sketch from the Viva La Verve blog.
I have been waiting to get this collection and my punch took, I think, an extra two weeks to arrive! I've seen so many pretty ways to use this watercolor paper and I was very excited to finally play with it! And this time I was able to fit three patterns on the card! I even used Crushed Curry!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Island Indigo, Crushed Curry marker
Paper: Crushed Curry card stock, Watercolor Wonder DP
Accessories: Petite Petals Punch, Regals Candy Dots, Brights Candy Dots, White stitched grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals
Have a great weekend and see if you can fit some stamping in! :)
The Demo'd Card
When I hold workshops, unless something specific is otherwise requested, I demonstrate one card, one scrapbook page and then we all make a card together. This is the card I demonstrated. It features Washi Tape, DP and tape from the Occasions Mini and two super-duper easy techniques- inking with markers, and dragging the card stock across the ink pad in place of matting it.
I also used the latest Mojo Monday sketch, and talked about the usefulness of sketches for creating!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: So Saffron, Coastal Cabana marker, Baked Brown Sugar marker
Paper: So Saffron, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Retro Fresh DP
Accessories: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Tag A Bag Accessories (striped tag and twine), Hung Up Cute Clips
The Tag and clip are retiring so if you love them, order them soon!!
Bright & Busy!
I got to stamp!!! It feels like its been forever! That cold completely wiped me out for the week- I had no desire to do anything, blah! SO glad to be moving on from that....! And yes, Sunday afternoon was windy and rainy and perfect for stamping! Yeay!
One of the cards I made was for a family member who is about to embark on a new chapter of her life. I used the latest Viva La Verve sketch for the card. It ended up busier than I usually create, but it looked too plain without the stars...and its done and she'll appreciate it, even if it isn't my favorite ever, haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral
Paper: Pool Party, Calypso Coral & Basic Gray card stocks, I Am Me DP
Accessories: White Stitched Grosgrain ribbon, Big Shot, On Film Framelits, Dimensionals
Tips:
- Use wax paper between the die and cardstock to get the little bits out of the filmstrip die! Enlist the help of your son to poke the holes out of the cardstock and the die with a toothpick. *wink
- Use scraps for small pieces on the card. The greeting piece doesn't quite fit the gray "mat" piece and I like it off set like that sometimes!
And be sure and come back tomorrow for our monthly blog hop! :)
Birthday Card!
Its a new week and that means a fresh start, right? Well last week was a different kind of busy for me, and included a painting project that I hope to share in the next week or so. In the meantime, I hope to be able to share a stamped project each weekday again!
Today I have a bright birthday card! I used the latest Freshly Made Sketches for this (but played too late to link) and some Sale-A-Bration products! Remember- you can only get the fun DP and the Twine until March 31
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Coastal Cabana
Paper: Coastal Cabana & Whisper White card stock, Sweet Sorbet DP
Accessories: Natural Buttons, Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (Twine), Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Banners Framelits Dies, Glue Dots
Banner Birthday
Happy Thursday to you! I am sure looking forward to the weekend, lol! I know we had a long one last weekend, but losing Monday threw me off all week- I kept thinking we had another day for everything! Who knew Monday's were so critical to my mental schedule? haha... But the science fair project is done and awards will be announced later today and we can go from there, and hooray for that!
Anyway, here's a fun card I made using the latest Nacho Average Challenge. I started this card with a specific person in mind, but now I'm thinkin it's not so much for her but perfect for someone else. Funny how that works...
Supplies:
Stamps: Banner Greetings (Hostess), Perfect Pennants
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Silver Glimmer DP, I Am Me DP
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, White Stitched Grosgrain, Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die
And I'm sorry the colors are a bit washed out- the sun is out, the sky is clear and its a fantastic day! Just...not for taking photos of pale paper...haha...I don't care- I need some sunshine and now I'm going to see what I can do to enjoy it! *grin
Workshop Make & Take!
Let me apologize in advance for the less than amazing photo...It is dismally gray out there and foggy, and I think this is the best the sky is expected to be for the next many days. I photo'd everything I've done this week, but I promise if the sun comes out I'll go back out for more, haha!
Last night was my Sale-A-Bration workshop! Thank you to those who came, and to those who missed it, I hope these projects inspire you!
Here is the make & take! I used the Clean & Simple sketch and featured products from the Occasions Mini. (which you can view on my sidebar!) The stamp set, washi tape and die are all found in the Occasions Mini! And I thought the bright colors made a birthday card that is suitable for anyone!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango & Whisper White
Accessories: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Pennants Die, Big Shot
A two-fer!
One place I like to go for card sketches is the Verve forum on Splitcoaststampers.com. I haven't been there in a while and this week I discovered that they have a new sketch challenge blog, which I've linked on my side bar. I played along with their first January sketch, and their color combination, but I wasn't sure if I'd like the things stamped on the white or on the blue paper better, so I made both, haha!
Which one do you like? *smile
The arrows are from the photopolymer set Show & Tell 1, and come in a line, just as you see, I just repeated it on the paper. The red inked arrows have hearts, hence the "you & me" image.
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants, Show & Tell 1, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip & Coastal Cabana card stocks
Accessories: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Cherry Cobbler seam Binding, Scallop Circle Punch
Blog Hop: Celebrate the Everyday!
Welcome to our Blog Hop! This month we're all featuring products from the brand spankin' new Occasions Mini catalog, which begins today!
Also, since it was the first time I actually stamped anything in more than a couple weeks, I went a little nuts diving back into the sketches, haha! Have you missed seeing cards on my blog? This post might make up for it...
First up, this card uses the current Freshly Made Sketch, new framelits and one new stamp set! I love the sketch and the fun colors! The pennants are actually a bit longer than you see here- I had to trim the tops off when my first creation didn't quite work, lol. What do you think of the cute new stamp??
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral
Paper: Calypso Coral & Whisper White card stocks, I Am Me DP
Accessories: Banners Framelits Dies, Big Shot
This card might be my favorite of the three, using the current Mojo Monday sketch, the same stamp set and same banner dies! The silver ribbon carried over from the Holiday Mini to the Occasions Mini too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Real Red, Basic Gray
Paper: Smoky Slate, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Silver Ribbon, Banners Framelits Dies, Big Shot, Brights Candy Dots
Wow, this card was an adventure to make, LOL! I used the current Retro Sketch. Have you tried making the star burst yet? I'm sure there's an easier way than what I did, but I do like the result! Here you can see three new stamps (same set!) and two new washi tapes!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky card stocks
Accessories: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, Dimensionals
Now, aren't you dying to see the other new products everyone else used?? Me too! Lets go check 'em out and be sure to leave some comments! We all like to know what people think of our work!
