Music Class!

Happy Wednesday! I was on a roll yesterday! I made that card and mailed it, and thought of a few more people who needed some happy mail! Here's the stack I sent, haha!
Then, after dinner I had some time to put this page together!! Yeay! I was hoping to get lots of MDS pages printed off before Stampin' Up! is done with MDS...I'm not making nearly as much progress as I would like, but I'll take what I can get!
I used the MDS Monday sketch for this layout, and some rather busy DP. I like the DP, I liked it as actual paper too. But it's a lot.... I used the banners-in-the-sky paper for the background, then the rectangles are filled with the hot air balloon print, and the stars. Then I added a rectangle punch of white card stock over the strip, and changed its opacity to 45% to make it look like vellum, and soften the busy-ness of the paper. Such a handy thing to do! Anyway, the challenge was called Cute & Done and that was exactly what I needed and! exactly what I did!
The photos are from this past week. My daughter has been participating in the Let's Play Music program, so the first picture her teacher took of their last day of class, and then I took the picture of my daughter and her teacher after the recital.
...one of these days I'm really going to have to scrap older events....!

Something Cheerful

Today I had some time to stamp and I thought I'd make something to send a sick friend.
I used the latest sketch from the Clean & Simple blog, and pulled out Thoughts & Prayers since the sentiments all apply to people who need to heal... I picked the yellow stripes for a cheerful spin on the card and a dose of sunshine! Then I inked the flower image a few times, some with Crushed Curry ink and some with Blackberry Bliss.
Supplies:
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
Ink: Always Artichoke, Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry
Paper: Blackberry Bliss & Whisper White card stocks, Sweet Taffy DP
Accessories: Blackberry Bliss stitched satin ribbon, Oval Punch, Dimensionals

April's Paper Pumpkin!

Happy Monday to you! Quick post today...really busy one for me!

This month the kits are designed for Mother's and Father's day notecards. This is not really what I had in mind for my parents...maybe my siblings....Instead I used the other stamps to make different kinds of notecards. I do really like the color combo, and the font!
This is how they are meant to look when you deliver them...
I also thought the envelopy box thing would work for small gifts- cash, gift cards, or even Ghiradelli chocolates!! (but I didn't have those laying around...!) And that means it is a great kit for graduate gifts!

Paper Pumpkin for Scrapbooking!

This page uses last month's Paper Pumpkin kit, and the base and photos have been sitting out for nearly a month waiting for me to put it together! I used the stamps, the colors, one side of the note card, and one sticker to make this page. And I'm glad I did, since these pics are 4 years old...!

Paper: So Saffron & Coastal Cabana card stock, March 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Scrapping a Picnic!

Sooo aside from my stamp blog and my food blog, I have a private family blog where I record pretty much everything. This is super handy for scrapping because I can just check dates and details... The photos I scrapped for today were taken before I started blogging....and I have been blogging since 2008... Yep, it was definitely time to get these done. And now I don't have dates and details! I am fairly certain I know which town we stopped in for this picnic, and I definitely know the trip so I can ball park the month but beyond that...uh.... hahaha!
I used the current challenge board from 123 Get Scrappy (Earth tone background, Zig Zag, Torn Corner), and plenty of retiring product to make this page.
Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful, Work of Art, Skinny Mini ABC
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White card stocks, Sweet Taffy DP
Accessories: Natural Chevron Ribbon, Dimensionals, stapler

What is retiring from today's project?
  • Skinny Mini ABC stamp set
  • Truly Grateful stamp set

MDS for Spring!

Today I wanted to play along with the current MDS Monday sketch. MDS is going away very soon and I haven't decided exactly what to do about that... In the meantime, I'm going to work on scrapping when I can!
Finding anything with only one photo is really, really difficult for me, haha... but on the first day of Spring my kids happened to have the day off school, and among running errands we stopped for a free treat and I snapped just one picture, so I think that works! I chose soft, spring-y colors for the layers of DP.
And I just realized- the DP, the flower stamp and the twine all come from different Sale-A-Bration content disks...a product I already very much miss!
Supplies:
MDS: Lemonade Stand content disk DP, Hip & Handsome Overlays (background print), Fresh Vintage stamp set (flower), Accessory Cord Pack (twine)

What is retiring from today's project?
  • MDS is retiring!! All of it!

Birthday Flowers

Today's card uses a sketch from Nacho Average Challenges, but I made it after the deadline. Instead of three circles, I did three different things. And once again, this is a card full of retiring products!

I used the Crushed Curry marker to scribble across the Naturals White card stock, then I stamped the large flower right over it, and cut it out. Cool and simple! The greeting piece was stamped in Crushed Curry, and punched out. I stapled the ribbon on, and layered things from there. The flower is on two layers of Dimensionals to sit above the greeting.
Supplies:
Stamps: Four Frames, Bloom with Hope (hostess only), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Crushed Curry, Memento Black
Paper: Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake & Naturals White card stocks
Accessories: Natural Chevron Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, stapler

What is retiring from this card?
  • Bloom with Hope stamp set
  • Four Frames stamp set
  • Natural Chevron ribbon
  • Naturals White card stocks!

News, News and more News!

I got some stamp time! And this card leads us right in to all the news of the day too! Bonus!!
First of all, the card.
It's a simple one, using a Viva La Verve sketch from earlier in the month. I bling-ed it up a bit with the sequins, since I made a standard size card, and I like how it turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Lots of Thanks, Snuggles & Smooches
Ink: Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush
Paper: Strawberry Slush & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Epic Day Washi Tape, In Color Sequins, Butterflies Thinlits, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Big Shot

Now, how does this tell you news? Well, the Butterflies Thinlits are back in stock, which means you can order them again! Yeay!!! And! Thru April 30, Stampin' Up! has a limited time offer to help with the frustration of the Framelits being unavailable-
  1. Get the Butterflies Thinlits at a 15 percent discount--just $21.20!
  2. Buy any of the Butterflies Thinlits Bundles at a 15 percent discount and choose one of three FREE Sale-A-Bration items (only available while supplies last)!
And! Four items on this card are on the retiring list!!! That's right- the retiring lists came out today! Check out the retiring stamps HERE.
Check out the retiring accessories HERE.
Check out the retiring MDS items (all of them are retiring, but the updated discounted prices) HERE.

Which ones are retiring from today's project?

  • Strawberry Slush card stock and ink,
  • In Color Sequins
  • Epic Day Washi Tape!

*I should also note, I don't yet know which products will carry over from the Occasions Mini, nor do I know what will happen to the Photopolymer stamp sets that were released monthly, instead of in a catalog. That means you might want to consider ordering Butterfly Basics and Snuggles & Smooches before they too are gone!

My Swap

It really has been one of those weeks! haha... Lots of good but lots of busy! And that means no time for crafting!
However, now that it's mid April I really needed to get my "Cards In the Mail" IN the mail! I actually started these early last week...I cut the bases and fronts and stamped the flowers...and set them aside. I finished the stamping and assembling yesterday and they went out in the mail today. I don't think many people who are receiving this even know I have a blog, much less look at it, so I think it's okay to share what little I did create with you today! haha!
This one is a demonstratable card, if that matters to you. A couple techniques, a couple accessories and one stamp set! I colored in the leaves with a Blender Pen right after stamping. Most of the Paper Doilies were left over scraps from lots of previous projects, haha...
Supplies:
Stamps: Choose Happiness
Ink: Rose Red, Old Olive
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White card stock, Park Lane DP
Accessories: Paper Doilies, Artisan Embellishment Kit (which is apparently no longer available!), Dimensionals, Blender Pens

Easter Eggs!

Good thing I stamped on paper the other day, because aside from that, this week it's just MDS! Tonight's page uses the latest sketch from MDS Monday, and the challenge to add journaling. Some times I'm really good at that...sometimes I'm not, haha...
This is, of course, using pictures from this very week! Always my favorite feature about digital scrapbooking- no waiting for anything at all! *grin
Supplies:
MDS: Days To Remember DP, Easter Blossoms (egg stamp), Punches, Recolor Tool

Slightly Baby

After days of no creating of any kind, haha, today I needed a baby card to take to a neighbor, so I whipped this one up, using the current Retro Sketch.
I have lots of baby boy cards in my stash, but no girl cards. This isn't the most baby card I've ever made, but I thought it worked well. I debated on how to make the banner work and finally settled on these three images from Hello Life. Then the main image is another set of words from the same set! Handy! *grin Oh, and this card is 4.25x4.25.
Supplies:
Stamps: Hello Life
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe & Calypso Coral card stocks, Stacked With Love DP
Accessories: Banner Punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1/4 inch circle punch, White Baker's Twine, Vintage Faceted Buttons, Dimensionals

More MDS

Happy Monday! Quick post today- we are enjoying family time for Spring Break!
I went ahead and got another scrapbook page done yesterday, this time using a layout I found on Pinterest. I didn't plan to keep this mostly monochromatic, it just worked out that way, haha, and I am really happy with it.
Supplies:
MDS: Simple Friendship (flower), Lemonade Stand content disk (hexagon print, chevron DP), Split Second DP (polka dots), Just Add Cake DP (lined paper), Punches

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter to you! I hope you're having a lovely Sunday, however you celebrate.
Twice a year my church has a General Conference, and how wonderful for it to coincide with Easter Sunday! In my area, this is broadcast on television, so after waking up to candy filled baskets, we have been enjoying listening to Conference today. I have been wanting to get some scrapbooking done, so today I chose to scrap this photo of my family at the new temple which is almost ready to open in our area. We are really excited about this! You can learn more about our temples HERE.
I used the last MDS Monday sketch for my layout. The background is So Saffron, but I adjusted the opacity to 55%. I also recolored the chevron print from Rich Razzleberry to Pear Pizazz. Love that feature!! And, as per the challenge, the journaling is on a Freeform line. (the title is a different size because it is in a different text box)

Supplies:
MDS: Burlap Ribbon download, Button Latte, Glimmer DP download, Days To Remember content disk (swirl), Sycamore Street DP (recolored), Ink Splatter tool

Blog Hop: April Showers..!

That's right- another month has come and gone and it is once again time for our fun blog hop! This time we're celebrating April Showers!

First, I went with baby showers! I made this sweet card, in shades of blue, using the current Retro Sketch.
Supplies:
Stamps: Boys Will Be Boys, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Memento Black, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White craft, Markers: Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Lost Lagoon
Paper: Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Subtles Candy Dots, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Paper Piercing Pack Essentials

Next up, as I was looking thru my stash I noticed that the Paper Pumpkin kit from August of 2014 has this fun 'congrats' piece, AND the kit, and the refill is still available to order if you (or already are!) become a Paper Pumpkin subscriber! (check it out HERE) I couldn't pass the opportunity to share that fact!!
So I used the heart piece, flipped over to sponge gray hearts all over it, added some Strawberry Slush sequins, and I think it's perfect for a bridal shower card!
Supplies:
Ink: Smoky Slate
Paper: Strawberry Slush card stock
Accessories: Aug 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit

That's just two ideas I had for your spring weddings and baby showers...Go check out what everyone else came up with and leave your thoughts too! We love hearing (reading?) what you think!
