The Journey

Good morning and happy Friday! Busy weekend for me, as we prep for a fun trip!

Today's card looks like a very similar color scheme as yesterday, but it's not. The only same color is Daffodil Delight, but I did use that for both card bases.... hmm.

But for today, I combined the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches, the theme from The Paper Players, and the theme from Hand Stamped Sentiments! You can totally do "things with wheels" with "summer vibes"! The first thing with wheels I spied in my stash was this VW Bug with road trip suitcases. Yep- that says summer to me!
Lots of fussy cutting here! I meant to color the wheels, but I forgot. I did scuff up the car with a bit of Crushed Curry ink on a Blending Brush. I tapped it more than blended.

Ink: Memento Black, Crushed Curry, Garden Green
Paper: Basic White, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green

Birthday Balloons!

Here's a happy card, using the birthday girls' favorite colors. Goodness- always ask if you can. I would have done her card in black and purple, ha!

I think it works perfectly for the Festive Friday challenge too, if I understand it correctly. My choices from their list is Blue, Rhinestones, Balloons and Celebratory Sentiment. The solid balloon, curly string, and words are old Paper Pumpkin stamps, and the polka dot balloon comes from a bonus PP stamp set. The straighter string came from another long retired stamp set, Beautiful Ride.
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Ride (retired), Paper Pumpkin (old!)
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Blueberry Bushel, Memento Black
Paper: Basic White card stock
Accessories: Rhinestones (long retired)

Donkey Birthday

Today I have a different Sale-A-Bration set for you, and it's for another little boy's birthday! This is the first time I'm using this sitting donkey. Also, I pulled out an old set from 2016 for the balloon, but you could use the balloon from Hey Girlfriend or Woodland Wonder or Hot Dog in the Mini, or there are several in the Annual catalog too. I used a Blender Pen to pull a little color into the donkey and the balloons.
I used the color challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches, the sketch from Fab Friday, and it works for the Global Design Project theme of animals!
Supplies:
Stamps: Darling Donkeys, Beautiful Ride (long retired)
Ink: Gray Granite, Misty Moonlight, Flirty Flamingo, Memento Black
Paper: Gray Granite, Misty Moonlight, Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo card stocks
Accessories: Blender Pens

What are you making this week? Who will you send it to?

Mixing old with new...

This is not a great picture, but it was a fun card to put together, so I'm sharing it. Also, the story behind it.

A friend from elementary school that I've connected with on facebook is going thru a very difficult year. Last night she posted asking if there was anyone who might send her son a birthday card since she couldn't be with him later this week and it's going to be a lousy day for him. I have never met him, but his mother is very proud of him and posts various accomplishments and good things he does. He's a few months older than my own son, and he's into tinkering and machines and building things that work, and he just recently got his drivers license. I went looking for a car stamp I owned, which is retired, and pulled out this great "guy" paper from the new Occasions Mini. I used the latest sketch from the TGIF Challenge blog and this is what I made for him!

Supplies:
Stamps; Beautiful Ride, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento Black, Gray Granite, Crushed Curry, Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends, Dark & Light Basic Black Stampin' Blends
Paper: Crushed Curry, Basic Black & Very Vanilla card stock, Classic Garage DP

The picture is lousy because I shouldn't have used the Crushed Curry card stock for the background as well as the card, and also because the photo was taken about 7am before I rushed out the door and stuck it in the mail! BUT. I think it will be something fun for him to get in the mail for his birthday anyway! And that is exactly why we do what we do!

Valentines - Round 3

Today I'm sharing a Valentine card....even if it looks like a wedding/anniversary card! But that's the point- we'll make five "Valentine" cards at my upcoming class, but you don't have to use all -or any!- of them as specifically Valentines. Switch up the greeting and use it for any occasion you need!

Personally, this is kinda what my husband's birthday and Father's Day cards turn out like...and any other time I think he needs a pick-me-up, or just a tiny reminder of how much I love and appreciate him. So I could make five Valentines and be just fine. But I try hard to make my classes apply to anyone who signs up, so I need to mix it up! I also like that this is not specifically wedding, nor anniversary, but either way!

Also, I used the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Beautiful Ride

Happy Friday to you! I am hoping to get some relaxing time in this weekend, how about you? ...I guess we'll see if I really do! haha...!
This is the third post this week featuring new stuff! How fun is that??

On this day I had several ideas with this cute set and I tried two of them. I love one of them. hahaha! We'll start with that!
I've seen a lot of 'watercolor wash'-ing done as backgrounds for cards so I tried it here. I used my Aquapainter and a couple drops of So Saffron ink in the lid of the ink pad and this is the result. Then I stamped the images over it and there you go- fun, bright, sweet and simple!
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Ride
Ink: Memento Black, Watermelon Wonder (hearts & flowers), So Saffron ink refill, Island Indigo marker, Calypso Coral marker, Chocolate Chip marker
Paper: Chocolate Chip & Calypso Coral card stocks, Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Aquapainter

Then I tried a different version on this card... I like the idea of the big bright flowers (from a recent Paper Pumpkin kit), but they seemed to overpower the rest of the card...maybe I need to color more of the car....I don't know.
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Ride, October 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit
Ink: Memento Black, Watermelon Wonder, So Saffron ink refill, Watermelon Wonder marker
Paper: Watermelon Wonder card stock, Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Arrows embossing folder
