Love Is Kindness

Today's is another simple card. This time I used the Mojo Monday sketch but turned it to the side...and I moved the ribbon almost entirely. Hmm...okay, nevermind, this card was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch, haha! And I have actually already participated in this week's sketch, so that's fine. Just a little funny...
Anyway, this time I colored the tulips with my Crisp Cantaloupe marker and the Calypso Coral Blendabilities! I like the even lighter shade on there!
Supplies:
Stamps: Love Is Kindness
Ink: Memento Black, Calypso Coral Blendabilities, Crisp Cantaloupe marker
Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Early Espresso card stocks, Paper Doilies
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon

Another Lotus Blossom!

So I was playing around with colors to use with this stamp set and came up with some of these...
and then I saw Patty's post HERE about how you could do the flower with just one ink pad...so that's how the last few went. Some colors obviously work better than others, but I gotta say, it seems to turn out lovely no matter how you do it!

And then I decided to make this! I used the Paper Players sketch and maybe the bright turquoise is a little weird...but hey! It was fun and it works so nicely with the DP! haha! And I dunno...it's kind of got a soft quality that makes it work!
Supplies:
Stamps: Lotus Blossom
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy card stocks, Sweet Taffy DP

A Nautical Card!

Today I took some time to stamp, with paper and ink, so there! haha...
I have been loooving all the new creations from the Occasions Mini and the Sale-A-Bration products, but, I've also been thinking about all the other current products I haven't used since before the holiday season. So I pulled out this fantastic stamp set I fell in love with as soon as I saw it...and have hardly used....and this great DP that works so well with it, which I have also barely used! I combined them with the current Mojo Monday sketch and I made this:
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Maritime DP
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Banner Punch, Dimensionals

MDS Monday #99!

Today (among other non-fun things) I made a scrapbook page today, the same day the challenge was posted, and the day after the photos were taken! Here is my creation for the 99th MDS Monday challenge. All of the rectangles are filled with Well Worn DP, and the background uses a full sheet of it, tho the opacity is changed to about 40%.
Supplies:
MDS: Well Worn DP, Circle punch, Square punch, Pennant punch, Vintage Trinkets brads, Mis-Stitched download

Pink Sparkly Butterfly!

Yes, I'm posting on a Saturday thanks to my nearly vanished week, haha! And yep, this is one of those weeks I am glad to see come to an end!
Today my daughter went to a birthday party for a girl I don't know well. Her gift was a kit to make a pink necklace, so I thought a card like this would be about perfect, haha! I also used the current Nacho Average Challenge sketch for the design.
Supplies:
Stamps: Work of Art
Ink: Melon Mambo, Basic Gray
Paper: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Gold Glimmer DP
Accessories: Butterflies Framelits, Big Shot, Hexagon Punch, Dimensionals

...I always think I have the Silver Glimmer paper, but when I pulled it out its clearly gold, haha...I'd already done all the stamping, so then I wasn't sure if it was going to work together, as nicely as it did in my head. I asked my daughter's opinion and she approved, so a gold butterfly it is!

Valentine Treat Bags!

Look! I created something with paper and ink! Not digital! haha....
That's because it was a kit!
Yep! My January Paper Pumpkin kit arrived this week and it was for little treat bags. I happened to need to take some treats to some people so that was absolutely perfect! I think these five took me...maybe ten minutes to stuff and assemble? And they're so cute!!
Supplies:
January Paper Pumpkin!

I did use my own Real Red ink pad since I have that, and can therefore giveaway the Real Red Stampin' Spot that came in my kit.
Once again I have to add that if you love this kit, its fairly likely it will be available for purchase soon- BUT only to Paper Pumpkin subscribers!!! AND! If you sign up for a three month subscription, you qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item too!!

A New Years Eve Page

Well, we had a very nice, productive four day weekend at our house! The kids were out of school Friday for a teacher-work-day (what a weird name...) and everyone was off Monday for Martin Luther King Jr day! I didn't get much crafting done, but I did manage to get this digi page finished! And I started writing out things to work on my 2015 weekly pages project! ...not that I've finished 2014 but hey, it's a good goal, haha! Until next time, enjoy this page:
Supplies:
MDS: Glimmer DP download, Days To Remember content (swirl, heart), Star Punch, Square Punch

A Paper Pumpkin Page!

I was doing so good about posting and then I vanished... Yep.....migraines, root canal, cleaning out closets that look like this:
Oh and I read a book! Well...almost, haha... When I was a kid I read all the time. I got grounded for reading, haha.... But since becoming a mom, I don't read very much...I get way too sucked in and that makes for a lousy parent. However, I got a book for myself at Christmas and I read most of it the other day! Yeay!
But yesterday I did manage to put together a new scrapbook page, using really old pictures! haha!  I used pieces from the August 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit, along with a sheet of 12x12 card stock, and a bit of Whisper White card stock for journaling. It was quick and I think it made a pretty fun page!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini ABC, Aug 2014 Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Strawberry Slush marker
Paper: Strawberry Slush & Whisper White card stock, Aug 2014 Paper Pumpkin (stripey DP)
Accessories: Aug 2014 Paper Pumpkin - sequins, hole reinforcing circles, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

And now we'll see what the weekend holds...haha!

Chalkboard!

This week the MDS Monday challenge was to make a page with the chalkboard look. There was no sketch so I used THIS one!
I don't have the downloads that had a chalkboard paper with them, so I created my own! First, I used black card stock as the base, and changed it to 90% opacity. Then I added two layers of Vintage Overlays with "watermark" ink. That made it a little chalky around the edges. I used the snow flurry stamp from Lemonade Stand for the dots- and I took it from about 2 inches tall to 12 inches tall! Then I have a layer of Just Add Cake lined paper, torn across the bottom. The photos are matted in Very Vanilla. I recolored the Burlap Ribbon pennants to Vanilla, and strung them on a freehanded curved line. Finally I added three pennants on the side to use as my journaling tags, and threw on a pencil to emphasize the theme! Oh, and the title...
Supplies:
MDS: Burlap Ribbon download, Just Add Cake DP, Keep In Touch download, Vintage Overlays, Lemonade Stand content disk, Mini Flag Banner Punch, Flag Punch, Recolor Tool
Fonts: 1942 Report, Chalk Hand Lettering

December's Paper Pumpkin

I finally took some time to play with the Paper Pumpkin kit that came in December! I opened it when it arrived and I thought it was fun, but that's as far as it went! So today, amid babysitting a clingy, sickish 2 year old, I managed to get three cards done and photographed, and its not yet lunch time! If that's not impressive, I don't know what is! hahaha....

I've never gotten to make a shaker card, even tho I've seen the idea for yeeeears. This kit comes with thin strips of Dimensionals for the edges of the frame, and sequins and punched out stars to put into the shaker frame. The big words are stickers! It's so easy to put together - the hardest part is lining up the stamped background words, haha!

Christmas Scrapping!

There are only a few days left of the Holiday Mini and I wanted to continue to feature that while I still can. Today's post actually comes from the Holiday Supplement!

I bought the Hello December Project Life Cards & Accessories (two separate items) and I really wanted to use them this month...but I didn't buy an album, nor really do anything for a December Daily album this year, like I half intended to, haha.... Instead, I dug thru printed photos and found that I hadn't scrapped December 2010 yet! Perfect! Also, a few years ago Stampin' Up! had these divided sheet protectors and I only used a few. They're sort of a precursor to the Project Life divided sheet protectors, and worked really well for using the cards! (if you don't care about using both sides of the cards, traditional scrapbooking is a great option too!)

So! Here are a few pages I completed, using my fun new products. And since you already know I take a ton of pictures, there's still TONS of product left for future projects- maybe scrapbooking, maybe cards!!

The cards, sequins, sticker letters/numbers, washi tape, word strips and wood cut outs all came with the Project Life items. The only thing I added was the silver stripey washi tape that better matched a couple pages than the polka dotty washi tape! I also added some red card stock to the photo slots because I printed using the "True Digital" size, instead of the actual 4x6 prints. That was the hardest part, haha, and this is a suuuper simple way to scrapbook! If you're looking for a photo storage solution, I highly recommend Project Life! haha!

Blog Hop: Occasions Mini!

Welcome to a new month AND a new year!! I'm excited to share our fun blog hop with you!
Have you received the new Occasions Mini? It doesn't actually begin until January 6th, but we wanted to feature it today, to whet your appetites for the fun new products! I know my wishlist is long...so many pretty things in this Mini! And, you know...Demonstrators can pre-order catalog products...! (yep, that's a perk! Wanna sign up??)

First up, I have this sweet tulip stamp! That's right, we have barely had snow for a whole week and my stamping has moved on to Spring... hahaha! I used the current Retro Sketch for the card layout (which I flipped upside down), and a bit of a crossover...the Holiday Mini stays current thru January 5 so I went ahead and used a button from it on this card!
Supplies:
Stamps: Love Is Kindness
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Sweet Taffy DP
Accessories: Wisteria Blendabilities, Nordic Buttons, Crushed Curry baker's twine, Big Shot, Banners Die

This card was fun to make! I used the latest Mojo Monday sketch, and enjoyed the collage-y-ness of the Butterfly Basic set!
Supplies:
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar
Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Banners Die, Butterflies Die

And finally, I have this card which I didn't love quite so much, but I'm sharing it anyway, haha... I used the latest Freshly Made Sketch, but I changed the focal point to a square instead of circle. This time I colored the tulips with Calypso Coral Blendabilities.
Supplies:
Stamps: Love Is Kindness, Butterfly Basics
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Calypso Coral card stocks, Park Lane DP
Accessories: Big Shot, Hexagon Hive Die, Dimensionals

Now, carry on to Cheryl's blog, and hop on thru! Please leave us comments to let us know what you think! and Happy New Year to you!!!
