A Christmas Home

Today's a card I am particularly happy with, haha! I used the current Mojo Monday sketch for this one, and YES it is one we'll make at the card classes!!

The house is stamped in Basic Gray and then cut out with the Big Shot. I put the string of lights on before cutting, and stamped the wreath right on top of the door - most of the samples I've seen, the wreath was cut out. I colored the house with Smoky Slate, and lit up a window because I don't know abotu your house, but its been gray for a while here! The snowman is stamped in Basic Gray too, and his scarf is Mossy Meadow. Then I used Blender Pens and the Soft Sky ink pad to add blueish shadows to the ground! I love the swirly snow pattern on this sheet of All Is Calm DP and it fit so perfectly! Finally, I picked two of the washi tape patterns for the diagonal piece of the sketch! I seriously love it!
Supplies:
Stamps: Holiday Home
Ink: Basic Gray, Soft Sky, Real Red, Mossy Meadow marker, So Saffron marker, Smoky Slate marker
Paper: Soft Sky & Whisper White card stocks, All Is Calm DP
Accessories: All Is Calm washi tape, Homemade Holiday dies, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Blender Pens

Gentle Peace

Today, I'm going to feature this pretty stamp set...twice.
This is a new photopolymer stamp set that I just had to have for my Christmas Card class!

The first card I made, I inked it up with Versamark and then Island Indigo ink, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I don't know if that made a difference or not, but it looks good, haha! I layered it onto some gorgeous All is Calm DP, and threw in a touch of ribbon too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gentle Peace
Ink: Versamark, Island Indigo
Paper: Smoky Slate, Island Indigo & Whisper White card stock, All is Calm DP
Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

And then I decided to color the image!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gentle Peace
Ink: Basic Gray, Soft Suede
Markers:
Crushed Curry (star & background), Hello Honey (around star, background), So Saffron (outside, halos)
Soft Suede (bricks), Baked Brown Sugar (hair)
Island Indigo (darker), Lost Lagoon (lighter)
Pear Pizazz (lighter), Always Artichoke (darker), Pistachio Pudding (swaddling clothes)
Blush Blossom (skin)
Paper: Crushed Curry, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: Big Shot, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder

I have a few other ideas for this stamp set, and I've found lots of ideas on Pinterest too, if you're looking!

Watercolor Winter Kit 1

Now I think I'll spend the next few days featuring the cards from my class, close-up!
(and behind the scenes, I'll keep creating what you'll get to make!)

First, I want to mention this kit. Despite it's ease and its beauty, I haven't had anyone order the kit yet, which might be a good thing...there's some things you need to know!
The kit does come with everything you see here, just as it shows in the Holiday Mini, and in the Holiday Supplement! And, it notes that no stamps, ink or adhesive come with the kit. What it doesn't mention is that with the new style of ink pads, they recommend you watercolor with ink refills, rather than the ink pad itself.
I mention this because I know I have several customers who choose to not spend money on the ink refills until their ink pad needs it...if that includes you, and you love this pretty kit, consider purchasing some coordinating ink refills to make it easier to use! *grin!

Also, while there is a coordinating stamp set designed to go with the kit perfectly, I opted to use the words from other stamp sets, since I purchased three this season, and received the Paper Pumpkin kit, including word stamps. That was enough, hee hee...

And here are the first two cards I created!
I altered this a bit...leaving more product to play with on other cards! The glitter tree was intended to go behind the green tree to have sparkly diamond ornaments. I liked it this way.
And this one I just left off some sequins...simply because I forgot, haha...
Supplies:
Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit,
November My Paper Pumpkin (stamps)
Real Red, Wild Wasabi ink refills
Coastal Cabana & Island Indigo ink
SNAIL, Glue Dots, Scotch Tape

A Spring Page

How's that for a title? totally non-committed to a month, and therefore can be plunked into any spot I need this calendar top to go! ha! ...except winter...altho the blue would work for a winter page... *smile
So today is a seemingly random group of photos for my in-laws calendar, but I promise it means something to them and they'll love it. In our church we have temples, which are our most sacred buildings, and all of these photos are of their grandchildren visiting a different temple.
I got to use a few new-to-me downloads, and I wanted a subtle piece of background so I typed up related words, put them in a pretty font, and changed the opacity!
Supplies:
MDS: Sunny Day DP (recolored square), Mocha Morning DP (recolored background strip), Victoria crochet lace ribbon, Limited Edition (kraft tag, butterflies- one recolored), Happy Hello (rhinestone)
Font: Bickley Script

Are you enjoying the calendar pages? My Christmas card class stamp order arrived yesterday so I should get to play with that soon...watch for class details too!

{the real} August Calendar Page

...because I titled yesterday's post as August and then I made this page and it just has to go with August...ahem....
Again, this is for my in-laws calendar, and again, the sketch came from Pinterest! Just the second page, but you can see it HERE.

Supplies:
MDS: Texture overlay, Well Worn DP, Punches,Vintage Trinkets

And again, I have to tell you what I love about MDS! Well Worn was one of my favorite paper packs ever, I think the only one I've bought two of, and with it digital, I never run out! And these were some of my favorite little accessories too- these tiny button brads, and not only will I never run out, I can keep using them even tho both are retired! Of course I'm also working on these pages from the tidy living room, on my lap so there's no clean up, and I can swap out pictures and products when I change my mind, so there's NO waste! Love, love, LOVE MDS. And you should get it for Christmas if you haven't already!

September Calendar Page

I think I'm back...!
Soo, really, I worked on these apples Weds-Sat, and then again Monday (yesterday)! I had to juice a little more than a bushel, and then turn all the juice into jelly. And I ran out of jars and the store was out of jars and and and! But I got 66 jars of my favorite jelly made, and shared a little, haha, so that makes it worth the cuts and burns, right? haha....

And last night when it was all done, I completed this calendar page for my in-laws! This is the September page, with the back to school stuff, and I threw in their newest lessons too- trombone (at school) and piano! They both started this summer so that fit just perfectly! I used this sketch off Pinterest and one paper kit to make the page- tho I did change the color of the big blue strip. That used to be Blushing Bride!
Supplies:
MDS: Banner Blast stamp set (star) School Days stamp set (star outline), Days To Remember (abc line),
Just Add Cake DP (all),
Mini Flag Banner Punch (yellow pennants), Flag Punch (white pennants), Small Arrow Punch

Double the Sneaky Peeks!

What a week this has been!! We've had three snowy days, which is fun for the kids, but cold and kinda messy since it isn't very deep...leaves are still getting tracked in with the snow boots, haha...I'm working on day 3 using a steam-juicer for maybe a bushel and a half of yellow delicious apples, and turning that juice into jelly- and apple jelly is my favorite! But it doesn't leave a lot of time for crafting....
enter.... My Paper Pumpkin! My November kit arrived yesterday, which was so nice! Just as it is designed, I stole a few minutes last night to put together the projects!
So, here's a sneak peek if you haven't gotten your November kit! (tho I did alter one of the projects...)

but also, this is a sneak peek for my Christmas card class! In fact, Since I only have 8 in the box, and this is one of them, I am offering these two projects to only the first 6 people to sign up for my class!
The snow makes it hard to get good pictures...the washi tape hiding on the white tag behind the silver snowflake is the same on the inside of the above card.

I'm hoping to post details about my class by Monday morning!! Let me know if you're interested and I'll be sure you get all the information!!
Sign up for My Paper Pumpkin so that you too can have a few minutes of craft time every month, without having to make a plan!!
You can also give My Paper Pumpkin as a gift....if you're looking for those..... *wink!

October Calendar Page!

It's that time again...the time when I make 25 calendar pages for our parents' Christmas gifts!
Why 25? Well...they get a matching cover and that's where it ends.
For my in-laws, they get a calendar focusing on my little family.
For my parents, my mom has asked me to make a calendar of my parents family (the one I grew up in) and sometimes she orders a copy for her aunt, sometimes for her sister, last year we gave one to each of my siblings... but the point is, I make two different calendars!

And today I have the first calendar page for you to enjoy!
This page used a sketch I found on Pinterest HERE.
Supplies:
MDS: Vintage Overlays stamp set, Ink Splatter, Lemonade Stand stitching, Banner Punch,
Polka Dot DP, Glimmer Paper, Rip Edge tool

A Digi Book

So after being swamped-busy, I'm on day two of a migraine and thus still not stamping. But I did remember a project I made last month that I haven't shared yet!
A few months ago we had family here and for whatever reason the scrapbooks came out (haha...I really don't know why...!) and my brother liked the digital book I made for my son a few years ago (HERE) and asked me to make a book for him. He wanted a wedding album, because apparently his kids had loved their parents wedding album to death. (...ahem...I did that too....!) And he wanted it done in time for his anniversary.
I didn't quite make it before the date, but I did get it done, and here are a few pages from that...I started by designed three basic backgrounds, using their wedding colors, to keep things cohesive but not boring. I rotated the three backgrounds throughout the book, and then I plunked in the photos!

Here's the cover...
and a sampling of the pages...

...I think every thing used on these cards comes from the Holiday Mini! You really should check it out!!

Trick or Treat!

I played along with MDS Monday's sketch again this week, because I thought it fit my Halloween pictures perfectly! (I adjusted it too...the original called for two photos, but I had three trick or treaters so I squished a third photo on there...) I don't know if I completely love the Cajun Craze paper with the orange pumpkins in the photos, but I think it works well enough...and I like the grunge look of the layout and the different strips of Halloween-y paper!
And! I'm starting off the month with a scrapbook page! Maybe I'll make my goal...!
Supplies:
MDS: Vintage Overlays digi stamp, Ink Splatter, Frightful Sight DP, Gold Glimmer DP, Square punch
Fonts: Astonished, Book Antiqua
