Christmas Mojo!

Today's card is a two-fer! I used a sketch from Julee's team member, Teresa Kline, and combined it with the OCC Saturday Challenge to do a Christmas card!

Since I was using a retired stamp image, I used a lot of retired product! Now the big question...should I sell it or keep it for my Christmas card stash?? LOL!

Supplies:

Stamps: To You & Yours

Ink: Always Artichoke

Paper: Real Red, Always Artichoke & Very Vanilla card stocks, Retired holiday DP

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon (retired)

More Christmas!

Here are just some more of the Christmas cards I've been working on. I'm not sure if its easier to do a bunch that are completely different or to do a bunch that are the same. It started out a lot of fun designing new cards around all the different challenges and sketches, but now its a little tedious and I'm not done! Hmm....

So, first I have Lauren's Saturday sketch.

Supplies: Stamps: To You & Yours, Holiday Tag Team (retired) Ink: Real Red Paper: Real Red, Old Olive, Dashing? DP (retired) Accessories: All The Trimmings SS Kit (retired)

...Melanie's sketch on PCP...

Supplies: Stamps: Holidays & Wishes, Holiday Tag Team (retired) Ink: Chocolate Chip, Glorious Green Paper: Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa & Glorious Green card stock Accessories: Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 3/8 inch circle punch

...fun cookies to color...

Supplies: Stamps: Merry Little Christmas (retired), Glad Tidings (retired) Ink: Glorious Green, Basic Black, Real Red Paper: Glorious Green & Whisper White card stocks, All The Trimmings SS Kit (retired) Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens

and toys for the children of a friend!

Supplies: Stamps: Merry Little Christmas (retired), Holidays & Wishes Ink: Basic Black Craft, Pixie Pink, Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi (retired), Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Real Red Paper: Wild Wasabi (retired) & Pretty in Pink card stocks, Watercolor Paper Accessories: Aquapainter, SS Brads

I am THRILLED to announce I finished making cards yesterday (til my son asked if I would make a card for each of them to "open" on Christmas morning...sheesh... *wink*) and short 6 addresses, but everything else is sent! I've got some cool homemade gifts I'll show in the coming weeks but one is scheduled for the 26th- it has to stay a surprise, you know! LOL!

More Christmas!

Running total: 71 cards ready to mail!!! And here are some more sketches and challenges I used to work on my card list. I do apologize for the pictures. Even the photos I took during the day came out dark because of the weather...

First, this uses Taylor's sketch from a couple of weeks (or three or four...) ago. I think its fun and festive...

Supplies: Stamps: Holiday Tag Team (retired) Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Wild Wasabi (retired) Paper: Wild Wasabi, Real Red & Whisper White card stocks Accessories: Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Blender Pens, Watercolor Crayons

Next up is inspired by the Cinema Challenge! (They have blog candy too...!) Does this look like "Miracle on 34th Street" to you? Well it has been YEARS since I've seen it, and only the Natalie Wood version. Honestly what I remember most is the end where she gets the house, (complete with a swing!) because my parents had a tape recorded with a bunch of Christmas specials and we had to fast forward thru the "boring" movies to get to the cartoons. haha! Soo, I have this stamp with the children sitting on Santa's lap, and I tried to make it look vintage. Not half as good as Julee does, but I used her instructions. And its not too bad!

Supplies: Stamps: Merry Little Christmas, To You & Yours Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel Paper: Bravo Burgundy & Very Vanilla card stocks Accessories: Stamping Sponge, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon

Finally I have Jen's Saturday Sketch plus a really nice snowman for the OCC Challenge! Love combining them!

Supplies: Stamps: Holiday Tag Team (retired), To You & Yours Ink: Versamark, Night of Navy Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White card stocks, Accessories: Chipboard, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Mat Pack

More to come!!!

Christmas-y Sketches!

Hooray! I am up to 59 Christmas cards done! only 22 left....sigh... So,(yesterday) I wrote down all the recent sketches I could think of, went downstairs with some Christmas-y supplies, tried to get some done, and here's what I have!

This one comes from Lauren's Sketch and also fit the bill for the PCP 2nd Day of Christmas challenge - "two turtled doves". I actually made it the other night, just in time for PCP...I think!

Supplies: Stamps: Priceless, To You & Yours Ink: Whisper White, Versamark Paper: Night of Navy & Bashful Blue card stocks, White Mulberry Paper Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

This second one comes from the Sketch Challenge on PCP. Big circles ARE a challenge for me! So I cheated and used a sticker from an old Simply Scrappin' kit! LOL!

Supplies: Stamps: Glad Tidings (retired), Bright Bulbs Wheel Ink: Real Red, Always Artichoke Paper: Ruby Red & Whisper White card stocks Accessories: Old Simply Scrappin Kit (All the Trimmings??), Fresh Fav Buttons, EE Brads

Next up is a card based on Julee's Mojo Monday sketch, but also qualifies for the PCP 12 days, day 4: Four Calling Birds. I found I had another bird stamp! I think this turned out nice. No, the white card stock is not on a slant, just that the photo is not great... :)

Supplies: Stamps: Holiday Tag Team (retired), Glad Tidings (retired) Ink: Versamark, Whisper White Craft Paper: Night of Navy & Whisper White card stocks Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Silver Brads, Silver cord (retired), White Embossing Powder, Stamping Sponges

Then this one I put together for the OCC Weekend challenge, to use snowmen or snowflakes. Its pretty, but the final one I made (to be shown tomorrow!) is better! I just can't get a good picture of it in the dark!

Supplies: Stamps: Holiday Tag Team (retired), Warmest Regards (retired) Ink: Basic Black, Ruby Red, Whisper White Craft Paper: Baja Breeze, Ruby Red & Whisper White card stocks Accessories: Mat Pack, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens

I only got 4 cards done, BUT! I did get three loads of laundry done, folded and put away, dishes loaded, grocery shopping and trip to the gas station and bank, and the house is now as decorated as its gonna get! So, today wasn't a total waste! lol!! And I'm hoping to have another stack to show off tomorrow! The season is upon us!

Lots of Weekend Challenges

It was a nicely productive weekend!

First up is Jen's Saturday Sketch card. I've had this RAK'd image sitting here a while so I thought I better use her! (My daughter watched me color this and kept asking things like "why does she want a blue dress? Why is she hugging a dog? Why are her shoes brown?" ohhh I love the "why phase"!)

Supplies: Stamps: Sarah Kay image-unknown to me Ink: Black, Not Quite Navy Paper: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy & So Saffron card stocks, Sarah DP (retired) Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, heart punch

Now we dive back in to Christmas cards! For this one I used Beate's weekend sketch. I think it turned out fun!

Supplies:

Stamps: To You & Yours, Holiday Tag Team (retired) Ink: Real Red, Glorious Green, Yoyo Yellow Paper: Glorious Green, Whisper White card stocks, All The Trimmings SS Kit (retired) Accessories: Stamping Sponges, 1 3/8 inch circle punch

Next I have the OCC Challenge which was a sketch! I think I do best with that kind of challenge.

This time I watercolored with my aqua painter. Yep, It really works best on watercolor paper! So that's what I have here- our watercolor paper. I used the classic ink squished onto the lid of the ink pads for the color, except the Blush Blossom on their faces- for that I colored with my watercolor crayons. I think I decided you need to start with the lightest colors and work your way thru...so you don't get purple ears... Also, each color has to dry first. Maybe I'm still using too much water with my aqua painter...I'm not sure yet! LOL!

Supplies:

Stamps: Merry Little Christmas (retired)
Ink: Basic Black Craft, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Basic Gray, More Mustard, Handsome Hunter, Elegant Eggplant
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Handsome Hunter card stocks, Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon

And finally Taylor's Friday Cupcake Challenge. No cupcakes here today, but Christmas gifts! That's at least as fun, and probably healthier...*wink*

Supplies: Stamps: Sarah Kay- unknown to me

Ink: Black
Paper: Ruby Red, Old Olive, White card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, EE Brads, Clear Buttons

Annnd that puts me at 53 cards! Only 28 more to go.....

More stamping!

Another late post! Well, here's my card for the OCC Challenge! I went with the colors and the Christmas theme.

Supplies:

Stamps: Big on Christmas, Holiday Tag Team (retired) Ink: Black, Green Galore Paper: Green Galore, Whisper White Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, stamping Sponge, Zingz (fiskars)

Here's my card for Lauren's Saturday Sketch. I just love it (the sketch) and I can't believe I almost forgot about Baja Breeze for holiday cards! Not only is it a great "water" color, its also nice and chilly for wintery cards! (however, if you're going to color your own white taffeta ribbon -using classic ink pads- I would let it dry before you tie it around white card stock. Just a thought.... )

Supplies: Stamps: To You & Yours, Snow Burst Ink: Versamark, Baja Breeze, Whisper White Craft Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stamping Sponges

There is some great blog candy up for grabs on Suzanne's awesome blog. Sorry its in the nick of time... I just saw it myself! (See what happens when you don't get a chance to blog hop?!) Bev has some more great candy on her blog too. I knew about that one, I just forgot. SORRY!

Also, I have a few cards in my Splitcoast gallery that I haven't shown here, if you want to see more!

Christmas Card Class Part B

These are the cards we made at my local Card Class. One of them is very similar to the first set, and others that are close to these have already been posted. But here's just a few more Christmas card ideas!

This first card uses Ballet Blue rather than Brilliant Blue, and we used the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with a 2 Way Glue pen, instead of embossing with Iridescent Ice Powder.

This card has different card stock colors and ribbon...

Here we used the Bright Bulbs Wheel, Best Yet hostess level 1 set, and Watercolor Wonder Crayons with Blender Pens!

Check out the Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon with the whitish edge. Looks very festive!

I think my favorite card....!
Have a great weekend!

Finally- some cards!

Yep! I got some fun stamp time in! Hooray! Sorry the photos are dark and have weird coloring, its trying to snow again so lighting is weird... But now I do have two more Christmas Cards ready to go! YEAY!

This one comes from Lauren's Saturday Sketch. Now, I love this house. Kelly keeps using red and her's look nice...but I'm not in love with my house image being red. Oh well, I already had it stamped, thought I'd put it to good use! LOL!

Supplies:

Stamps: to You & Yours Ink: Real Red Paper: Real Red, Whisper White card stocks, Retired Dashing DP Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, Word Window Punch

This one comes from Beate's Sketch and I'm calling it my coloring card for the OCC challenge! It is true- I do like to use my Watercolor Wonder Crayons with my Blender Pens! Almost everything you see colored here has been done that way. Anyway, here's the cute card:

Supplies:

Stamps: Glad Tidings (retired), Sarah Kay image unknown-to-me! Ink: Black, Bravo Burgundy Paper: Whisper White & Always Artichoke card stock, Parisian Summer DP Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, Stamping Sponge

A few challenges!

*card* challenges of course!

First I have Beate's Inspiration Challenge #28. The room itself kind of had me stumped so I took the colors and just made a card around that. I wanted the black/white to be striking and I think it is.

Supplies: Stamps: Fresh Cuts Ink: Versamark, Basic Black Paper: Really Rust & Whisper White card stocks Accessories: Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, So Saffron Poly-twill ribbon, Neutral Buttons, Linen Thread

Then, here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Weekly Challenge. This week its a sketch, which is of course the only reason that many layers made it on my card! LOL! I love the look when people can add a bunch of layers but I seem to have a hard time doing that "right". hee hee... However, I am very happy with this card, so I guess it works when someone tells me where to put things!

Here's a bit of a close up shot. I love this ribbon, and the punched flowers turned out cute too!

Supplies: Stamps: Willow With Cookies, To You & Yours Ink: Black, Perfect Plum Paper: Perfect Plum, Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White card stocks, Saffron Prints DP Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, Scallop Edge Punch, Word Window Punch, EE Brads, cherry blossom punch & ribbon

New Stamps in Navy

Tonight I played with the last of my new stamp sets: To You & Yours. I think this is a fabulous holiday set! I was experimenting with ideas for my upcoming Christmas Card class. I had plans in my head but when it comes to a class, its always good to try them out first! LOL! This first card actually follows Lauren's Saturday sketch and I thought it worked well for these pieces.

The only difference in supplies between these two cards is the first uses the Wide Oval Punch for the focal point, and I did a little paper piercing in the corners.

Supplies: Stamps: To You & Yours Ink: Night of Navy, Whisper White Craft Paper: Whisper White & Night of Navy card stock Accessories: White Taffeta Ribbon
