Blue Hummingbird

Happy Friday! Only two days left to get your hands on the Sale-A-Bration freebies!! There is a chance this might be my favorite card I've made with the Sale-A-Bration 2021 products...
This card uses the sketch from Fusion Card Challenge. I used ink pads and blender pens to color the bird, leaves and flowers. I intended for bright pops of pink flowers but I loved how it turned out with this subtle color so I left it. You can't see it at all, but the bird is highlighted with Wink of Stella which looks super cool.
Supplies:
Stamps: A Touch of Ink
Ink: Stazon Black, Pretty Peacock, Just Jade, Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White
Accessories: Flowers for All Seasons ribbon, Wink of Stella, Glue Dot

Colorful Hummingbird!

Today's card is a lot more bright than I typically create, but I think it's happy-bright and I like it. I'm putting this with the TGIF Challenge to feature Sale-A-Bration products...which is what I've been doing this week and last. For this bird, I used the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens, and images of hummingbirds on google. I also covered the whole bird with Wink of Stella, which is perfect for a hummingbird, but you can't see that at all, haha. Oh well.
Supplies:
Stamps: A Touch of Ink
Ink: Stazon Black, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Wink of Stella

Don't miss out on this pretty stamp set! I think I like coloring it in even more than the filler stamp!

Butterfly Page

Happy Friday! Once again, showing off this stamp set, but this time on a scrapbook page! Very simple, but I think it turned out nice. AND it's another page done, and that is important. I thought the butterflies made a nice symbol of freedom on this page, haha.

Paper: Purple Posy
Accessories: Opal Rounds

Here's a close up of these pretty butterflies. The outline is in Gorgeous Grape and the fill in is Highland Heather. Then I topped his face with an Opal Round, found in the Mini Catalog. They're so sparkly!

Raspberries!

Today I have another suuper cute Sale-A-Bration freebie! This sweet stamp set, and some gorgeous, coordinating DP! For today's card, I used the splitcoaststampers.com sketch, and I played with a LOT of ink designing the perfect raspberry. Let me know if you can't read these, or translate my abbreviations, but first I made several berries...

then a bunch of stems...

then I combined my favorites to make this:
Supplies:
Stamps: Berry Blessings
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, Just Jade, Mint Macaron
Paper: Just Jade, Whisper White & Melon Mambo card stocks
Accessories: Flowers For Every Season ribbon, Circle dies (retired), Big Shot (retired), Dimensionals

What do you think? I think the colors are just about perfect!

Just as a reminder, when I say the Big Shot is retired, the machine I own IS retired. But Stampin' Up! has created their own die cutting and embossing machine and it would be awesome to have someday! And I'll tell you what- if you buy the new Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, it will earn you this Berry stamp set and DP for FREE! (if you buy the current circles dies, you can add another Sale-A-Bration freebie AND get hostess rewards too!)

Hello Hummingbird

Today I have another card using A Touch of Ink, which you can earn for FREE before the end of February! I used the color combo from Inspire.Create.Challenge, and the sketch from Fusion, which is now over.
With the color fill stamp on the flowers I inked in Blushing Bride, and then did the "rock and roll" techinque to add some Rococo Rose ink to it. Finally I used a sponge to add a bit of Sahara Sand to the edges of the Whisper White card stock. This card is soft and pretty and I kinda love it. I'm deciding if it will be a birthday card or a thinking of you card, but either way it's nice.
Supplies:
Stamps: A Touch of Ink
Ink: Memento Black, Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose
Paper: Blushing Bride & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Rococo Rose scalloped linen ribbon, Circle dies, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Stamping Sponges

Donkey Birthday

Today I have a different Sale-A-Bration set for you, and it's for another little boy's birthday! This is the first time I'm using this sitting donkey. Also, I pulled out an old set from 2016 for the balloon, but you could use the balloon from Hey Girlfriend or Woodland Wonder or Hot Dog in the Mini, or there are several in the Annual catalog too. I used a Blender Pen to pull a little color into the donkey and the balloons.
I used the color challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches, the sketch from Fab Friday, and it works for the Global Design Project theme of animals!
Supplies:
Stamps: Darling Donkeys, Beautiful Ride (long retired)
Ink: Gray Granite, Misty Moonlight, Flirty Flamingo, Memento Black
Paper: Gray Granite, Misty Moonlight, Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo card stocks
Accessories: Blender Pens

What are you making this week? Who will you send it to?

Butterfly Birthday

Good morning! Feels like a Monday here, since everyone was home yesterday, but it isn't! Also, we are FINALLY getting some of that winter the rest of the country has been dealing with. The difference is, we're supposed to have winter from Nov-March and we haven't since Christmas. At all.

Anyway, I started the morning off with some stamping. There's less than two weeks to get your FREE Sale-A-Bration items, so that's what I wanted to feature this week. Today's card uses the color combination from SUO Challenges, (almost...I don't have silver foil, but I do have silver ribbon...) the sketch from TGIF Challenges and is now all set to go to a birthday girl in a couple weeks! I'm doing good so far (mid-Feb, haha!) with sending birthday cards on time, I just have to keep making them in plenty of time to mail out!
Supplies:
Stamps: A Touch of Ink, Well Said
Ink: Memento Black, Melon Mambo
Paper: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Well Written dies, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Big Shot (retired), silver ribbon (retired!), staple

Walking the Dog

Best laid plans... I intended to have five projects for you with this set, shared last week. Well... here's the third!

Today I'm showing off the last image in this set, and this time I used it on a scrapbook page of my dad and my daughter. (you had to know that was coming...!) These pictures are pretty old, and that old dog has crossed the rainbow bridge, but my daughter sure loved her while she was here to love. (yes, my son is in the pictures too, but he is soo my child and more than a little...nervous around dogs....ahem).
I shouldn't have used the Blends on this particular stamped image, because I used the wrong black ink, but didn't have a darker brown or black marker for my dad's hair and I'm leaving it anyway, lol.
Supplies:
Stamps: Treasures of Life, Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Memento Black, Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray marker, Cinnamon Cider marker, Soft Suede marker, Rococo Rose marker, Blushing Bride marker, Ivory Stampin' Blends, Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends, Light Black Stampin' Blends
Paper: Seaside Spray, Whisper White card stocks
Journaling Font: Just Beautiful Simplicity

and a close up of that sweet image...

Blessing an Angel!

Today I'm not featuring my new stamp set. Instead I'm sharing a challenge *I issued my scrappy friends. This page uses a color challenge from Global Design Project, and then a challenge to use supplies that make you think of Valentines, for a non-Valentine project. Everything but the colors are retired, but that is why I keep my retired supplies- for scrapping!
Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired), Taffy Alphabet (retired),
Ink: Rococo Rose, Sahara Sand, Rococo Rose marker
Paper: Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose
Accessories: Scalloped Lace Trim, Glue Dots, Artisan Embellishment Kit (ribbon roses, Rose die cut, pearls), Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit (heart doilies, glitter dots) (kits both long retired)
Journaling Font: Jennifer Lynne

and some close ups...

So, when I was looking over her blessing pictures and trying to think of a title, this was all that was coming to mind. But I hesitated because I was sure I used it with one of my big kids'...... So I looked at their books and it turned out I used it for BOTH of my big kids, so I could totally use it again, hahaha! And if your curiosity is now piqued, this is how I used it before, back in the dark ages/good old days when I'd print a roll of film and scrap it within the week.......

a kind of long time ago
and a really long time ago.

A Valentine!

Back today with another idea for this cute stamp set!
I think this card will probably go to some grandparents, because I'm going to have my kids mail valentines to their grandparents. But this image works with any adult-child relationship.

This card uses the latest color combination from TGIF Challenges! I used the Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend instead of Real Red, and that's how I recolored the tiny pearls too.
Supplies:
Stamps: Treasures of Life
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends: Light Petal Pink, Ivory, Light Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Smoky Slate, Real Red, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Flowers for Every Season ribbon, Basic Pearls

*again with the wonky panel! The picture was taken the same day as yesterday's, in the wind. So weird!

A Baby Card

Happy Monday! Ready for a new week?
One of my favorite things in the Mini Catalog is this sweet stamp set, called Treasures of Life. This week I'm going to feature some products from this stamp set for you.

The sentiments in this set indicate that it's intended for grandparents. But really, the images work for parents too. I like them because they'll work for cards as well as scrapbook pages, which is important in my world.
Today I'm showing a card for a new mom. I happen to know several baby girls who have recently arrived or are coming soon, so I think I'll get some use from this image. She could be a mom just as easily as a grandma. I used the latest from Color Throwdown for my card, tho the watercolor pencils set has Bermuda Bay which isn't totally "minty", and the ribbon I used is Just Jade, which works well but still is not "minty"...
Supplies:
Stamps: Treasures of Life
Ink: Stazon Black, Highland Heather
Paper: Blushing Bride, Highland Heather & Whisper White card stock
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pen, Flowers for Every Season ribbon, Dimensionals

*I don't know why the card looks like I put the panel on lopsided...it is straight, I promise. It's just very windy outside so I was fighting the wind and in a hurry...

Cactus!

If you love the scenery of the American southwest half as much as my mother does, this product medley is for YOU.

This is my mom's latest order, and honestly I was a little surprised it was her second selection from the Mini catalog. My mom is from Arizona. She hasn't lived there for 35 and a half years now, but if you meet her, she will tell you she's from Arizona, tho she currently lives elsewhere. haha! Throughout my life she had real cactus and fake cactus in our home, and artwork of cactus and the Arizona desert. My mother's whole family lives there still, aside from her own children and a couple of my cousins. My father's brother also lives there. On our trips to visit family, the hotter and drier it would get, the more giddy my mom would get. She even framed a snapshot of a few of us standing with a saguaro cactus in bloom, way before it was cool to frame snapshots.

She also lets me play with her stamps and inks when they come to my house in an order, haha, so I got to ink it up first. And I knew exactly what to do with it- I scrapped some older photos, of my last trip to Arizona, for my daughter who was 6 at the time, and who was totally incredulous that anyone would ever put a real cactus anywhere on their property, hahaha.

So here's my layout...

Supplies:
Stamps: Flowering Cactus
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White
Journaling Font: Jenna Sue

A close up to see those stamps in action:

and then let me show you the rest of the product medley. It is FUN. I can't wait for my mom to get to play with it!
So it all comes in this little box.

The paper and accessories, stamps and dies...
And here it all is! The felt embellishments are perforated to make little flowers for the cactus.
A close up of the paper... One of the sheets of paper is all easily die-cut shapes with ready to go cactus and blossoms.
and here's the other side!
What do you think? Is this something you love too? It's on page 9 of the Mini Catalog, and you can see it and order it HERE. There's a refill available too, of the paper, felt and thread!!

We Create Blog Hop: Whatevs

February already?! We only got our first real snowfall of 2021 this weekend, and it's already melting away...! Hopefully it's snowy where you are!

This month we're making whatever we're in the mood to make, and snow and cold temperatures were the inspiration for my card today! I actually combined a few challenges and might be too late for one or two... But I like what I created and I've got it in the mailbox this morning too!
I took the Freshly Made Sketch with the colors from Color Throwdown, along with the theme from TGIF Challenges, and all that together made this:

Supplies:
Stamps: Winter Woods, Buffalo Check
Ink: Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight, Misty Moonlight marker
Paper: Blushing Bride, Misty Moonlight, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Accessories: Wink of Stella, Dimensionals, Circle Dies, Big Shot (retired)

Here's a different shot to maybe better see the icy Wink of Stella I painted all over the trees.
Now hop on over to Libby's blog and see what she's created to inspire you today!

Then hop on through and let us know what you think of our work! We love feedback and knowing that our creations brightened your day too! Happy February!
