T is for...

The current SUO Challenge is to use your first initial as the start of your project.
I was totally stuck. I don't own any stamp sets that start with T, there are no current colors that start with T.... HMMMMMM......
I finally decided T is for "tools", so I picked a set of dies and did the block stamping again. (same block in fact). Then I decided T was for "template" so I picked a sketch, (from Sunday Stamps) which is my favorite starting point anyway... And then I wanted to make a "matching" card with stamps instead of dies so you get a "two-fer"!
annnd as soon as I was done, my smart daughter said "Why didn't you just do "thinking of you"?
snort.
or "thank" you....
Well becaaaause, *I was overthinking! Obviously. haha!
But since I made two of these, you get to see them!

First the one with the dies....

Supplies:
Stamps: Garden Wishes
Ink: Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizazz, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Block H, Dandy Wishes dies, Big Shot (retired)

And then the stamped version...

Supplies:
Stamps: Garden Wishes
Ink: Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizazz, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Block H

And a side by side-
Well, they're cute anyway, even if everything was an unnecessary stretch. ha! What are you making today? Or struggling with...? That's okay too!

Maritime Thanks

Today I have a quick card using one of my favorite stamps- Sailing Home. The Inkspirational blog had a challenge to make a Maritime themed card so this was perfect. I also used the sketch from Global Design Project for the layout.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sailing Home
Ink: Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade, Misty Moonlight
Paper: Balmy Blue, Basic White
Accessories: H Block, Dimensionals

For the "watercolor-y-ness" in the sketch, I inked up a block directly, and used that as a stamp. I actually stamped it off onto scratch paper first to make it lighter. It's a kind of different way to color in a small section.

What are you making today?

Purple Dragonfly

Happy Monday! Today I have the final sneak peek to my card class which is tomorrow!
This card had a totally different direction when I started. I was going to follow a color challenge...but I realized one of the necessary ink colors was already on a different class card... and when I substituted Gorgeous Grape, I dropped one of the colors entirely and now it looks like this!

Supplies:
Stamps: Dragonfly Garden
Ink: Gray Granite, Gorgeous Grape
Paper: Whisper White, Gray Granite
Accessories: Dragonfly Punch, Gorgeous Grape ribbon, Wink of Stella, Dimensionals

Tho honestly, before that, I made this. But decided it needed to pop off the white base.

By the way, the Wink of Stella is on the dragonfly wings. It's really pretty in person, and the pen itself kind of blends the ink, making it look slightly watercolored.

What do you think? Which one do you prefer?

Mother's Day 2021

Happy Saturday! I have more scrapbook pages for you today! This one is of just a few weeks ago, and I used a "tropical theme" challenge to make it. It was quick to put together, because this DP was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I was thinking "big splashy flowers, pink, green...." Yep!

The first page mostly uses Cheryl's EMS99 sketch for the layout. The "happy mother's day" is a digi stamp and it worked as a great title. I do love how quick and easy digi scrapping can be!

Supplies:
MDS- Berry Blossoms DP, Fruit & Flowers stamp set, All Holidays stamp set
colors: Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Kiwi Kiss?
Journaling Font: Berlin Sans FB

Thinking of You...

Today I have the third card for my upcoming class. I used a sketch from Splitcoaststampers.com. This one will actually give the crafter a choice- pink or yellow?

Which one do you like best?
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Moments
Ink: Memento Black, Magenta Madness marker, Bumblebee marker
Paper: Magenta Madness, Whisper White, Basic Black card stocks, True Love DP
Accessories: Circle Dies, Big Shot (retired)
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Moments
Ink: Memento Black, Bumblebee marker, Cinnamon Cider marker
Paper: Bumblebee, Whisper White, Basic Black card stocks, True Love DP
Accessories: Circle Dies, Big Shot (retired)

I'm enjoying this plan because with it having been SO long since I've had a class, all the stamps, all the accessories (so far) and almost every color is new-to-my-customers, unless they've ordered it. All of the current In Colors are newer than my last class! That's crazy to me...! Clearly, it is past time for this class!

I am FINALLY going to hold a stamp class next week! I haven't had one since before the world shut down. I had one planned, but now (two Annual Catalogs later) most of that has retired. So this is the first card I'm sharing for my upcoming class!

I used the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge for the layout, and it was a perfect fit with these fun cookies! I also love using these DP prints of something soft and cozy to go with the cookies!

Stamps: Nothing's Better Than
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight, In Good Taste DP

Pool Day!

Happy Friday! I have another scrapbook page for your weekend inspiration.
Today's layout was made using leftover pieces of a Paper Pumpkin kit! Don't forget about all those bits- use them on other projects! In this case, the sunshine obviously works with a pool day, but also, my daughter's swim suit is covered in lemons so those die cuts worked perfectly too! I just added some Crushed Curry cardstock and some Poppy Parade ink and that's all it needed!

Supplies:
Stamps: ABC Alphabet Upper
Ink: Poppy Parade
Paper: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, June 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit
Accessories: June 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit, Glue Dots

What fun does your weekend hold? I am hoping to get another digi layout done! haha.....

Morp 2021

Today I have a brand new digi layout!
This was for a challenge to base a page on the song "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure. When I read the challenge, I was totally stumped and then I focused on these lines,

Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise
Throw out your frown
And just smile at the sound
Sleek as a shriek, spinning 'round and 'round

along with the fact that this event was on a Friday, hahaha, and came up with this page:

Morp is Prom backwards. It's a girls-choice school dance and totally casual. I feel like I should mention- in spite of the song title, these kids aren't in love. Three of the four girls asked friends, hahaha.
I used the long-retired MDS (My Digital Studio) to make this layout. I totally copied the poodle skirt my daughter wore to this dance, for the pages. (I made that skirt too, and I am sooo not a seamstress!)
I think the page works with the lyrics because they all dressed up, there were tons of the happiest smiles and they had fun spinning for the pictures, haha! Also the round records!

And here are some close ups for you. I left off sooo many possible photos. I do love when my kids ask me to take the dance pics!

What are you making this week?

1000 Books!

Not a lot of crafting time lately, but I have made a few scrapbook pages I can share.
Like this layout with this adorable stamp set that did not get enough attention it's one year. It retired a year ago but I really love it, and it was perfect for a page about my girl reading 1000 Books before she starts Kindergarten! (which isn't even this coming school year!) This is a thing our library does that I thought was definitely worth signing her up for. I was just surprised she was done so quickly! So she got a few prizes (dinner coupon, stuffed animal, stickers) and I made a layout of several of our times checking in. The tags have the dates on them, and the tags themselves came from the Dec 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit! love those "leftovers" for other projects!

But also, I stamped lots of books for the page and this super cute bookworm, and an adorable library card too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Check You Out (retired), Number of Years (retired), Crayon Fun Alphabet Lower (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Gorgeous Grape, Flirty Flamingo, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White card stocks, Dec 2019 Paper Pumpkin
Accessories: Regals Candy Dots (retired)

New Kits!

Happy Monday to you!

Have you seen the new Kits Collection that Stampin' Up! has released? I sent out a little information in my customer newsletter last week, and I posted about it on my facebook page. These are super cute kits that take the guesswork out of creating, which saves you time! Some kits are cards-only, some create other things, like little gift boxes. Some will use stamping, some will have pre-printed greetings for you to use, saving you even more time! Some kits miiight look familiar to Paper Pumpkin subscribers! The kits will be available until they sell out. They will periodically refresh which kits are available. You can view the available kits HERE. And today's kit, for your convenience, is right HERE

One of those kits is almost exactly a past Paper Pumpkin kit, that was released in April 2018. I had only ever used a little of it, (HERE and HERE) because I personally don't have much use for tiny cards, nor gift boxes. But, since I still needed Father's Day cards, I made six new full-sized cards out of the kit. And since you can currently order something very similar, I thought I'd share my ideas here! Also, I gotta say, I really love this stamp set!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Pumpkin kits
Ink: Calypso Coral, Cinnamon Cider, Versamark Island Indigo (retired)
Paper: Pool Party card stock, April 2018 Paper Pumpkin
Accessories: April 2018 Paper Pumpkin, White Baker's Twine (retired)

The greetings in this kit are quite small- the shown cards from the kit are only 3x3. But I need to mail my cards so standard size works better for me. I used a Pool Party card base for all of them this time. And, I used other Paper Pumpkin stamp sets to add to my cards.

What are you making this week? Send something out to someone and brighten their day!
