Workshop Make & Take!

Let me apologize in advance for the less than amazing photo...It is dismally gray out there and foggy, and I think this is the best the sky is expected to be for the next many days. I photo'd everything I've done this week, but I promise if the sun comes out I'll go back out for more, haha!

Last night was my Sale-A-Bration workshop! Thank you to those who came, and to those who missed it, I hope these projects inspire you!

Here is the make & take! I used the Clean & Simple sketch and featured products from the Occasions Mini. (which you can view on my sidebar!) The stamp set, washi tape and die are all found in the Occasions Mini! And I thought the bright colors made a birthday card that is suitable for anyone!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango & Whisper White
Accessories: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Pennants Die, Big Shot

Another Scrappy Challenge!

I think I mentioned that I wanted to continue my 52 Week Challenge in 2014, but if I haven't, there you go, LOL! And here is the beginning of my 2014 year! One of the reasons I like this challenge is that I feel like I need to get pictures of the every day. I {almost} always take plenty of pictures of events and places we go, but we often forget to document the stuff we do all the time. This project remedies that.

Today's page also uses the challenge from the 1-2-3 Get Scrappy blog. I haven't got to play with all of these, but most of them. I chose the bottom corner to opposite top corner this time, to use "snowflakes, the color blue and lots of bling". I don't know if that is lots of bling, but each snowflake has a rhinestone in the middle!
Supplies:
MDS, misc Stampin' Up! downloads

And I'm letting you know about their design team call! :) I know I'm trying for it- are you? It'll require you to scrapbook at least a page a month- if you need further motivation! *wink

A paper page!

Happy Monday to you!
I haven't scrapbooked on paper for a few months, so last week I was excited to put some paper layouts together. And then when I was done, I went thru the kids' albums and reorganized it all, added in some refills and put the done pages in chronological order- and for once all the completed pages are IN albums ready to be enjoyed! Whoo hoo! :)
Anyway! Today's layout used the EMS 52 sketch from Cheryl. This is of a play we went to a couple summers ago (Music Man) because my husband helped his friend do lights. Afterwards, we got to meet Marian the Librarian (my husband's friend's sister) and Harold Hill! I used a retired Simply Scrappin' Kit, and a really old piano sticker across the top, haha...
Supplies:
Paper: Bandstand Simply Scrappin Kit, More Mustard card stock (all retired)
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Bitty Buttons, misc sticker (all retired)

A two-fer!

One place I like to go for card sketches is the Verve forum on Splitcoaststampers.com. I haven't been there in a while and this week I discovered that they have a new sketch challenge blog, which I've linked on my side bar. I played along with their first January sketch, and their color combination, but I wasn't sure if I'd like the things stamped on the white or on the blue paper better, so I made both, haha!
Which one do you like? *smile

The arrows are from the photopolymer set Show & Tell 1, and come in a line, just as you see, I just repeated it on the paper. The red inked arrows have hearts, hence the "you & me" image.
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants, Show & Tell 1, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip & Coastal Cabana card stocks
Accessories: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Cherry Cobbler seam Binding, Scallop Circle Punch

A birthday card!

So the other day when I had some stamping time, I was perusing blogs and came across Christy's- where she had just shared the latest Nacho Average Sketch Challenge, and I thought I'd play along!

Here is the result- a birthday card for my childhood best friend, who's birthday is TODAY! Yeay!
Supplies:
Stamps: Show & Tell 1 (photopolymer), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Soft Sky, Basic Black
Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White card stocks, Sweet Sorbet DP
Accessories: White stitched grosgrain ribbon, Neutral buttons, Glue Dots

That DP that you're wondering about? Or maybe you saw it in my calendar pages... anyway, that would be a sneaky-peek to the upcoming Sale-A-Bration catalog!!

And this card has already been mailed! Yeay!
What about you? Are you mailing anything off this year? That IS why we make cards...right?

New Occasions Mini Catalog!

I've seen lots of bloggers share their favorite items from the new Occasions Mini, and that sounded like a fun idea to me!

1. Obviously my top pick was the Perfect Pennants bundle, since that's what I got! I love the wonderful life phrase, and I like the pennants and that sweet "me & you"! Already I've had fun with this one!
2. It was a tough choice where to begin because I LOVE the polaroid, film strip and camera framelit from the Peachy Keen bundle, and the stamps too!
3. and 4. Here's another couple fantastic stamps and I think they'd be perfect together too!
Need I say more?
 6. Natural Chevron Ribbon
7. Retro Fresh Washi Tape & DP!
I think all the DP in this mini is going to be really great, but these colors spoke to me (anyone else ready for spring?!), so I started with the Washi Tape.
8. Page 24. Oh, I mean High Tide Suite. Yes, the whole page just makes me happy! I seriously have a thing for nautical... Just go check it out!

And there you have my top picks from the new Mini! Everything is linked to the Stampin' Up! website, or you can place an order with me any time!
What will you get first?

Happy Butterflies!

I had some time today so I made a bunch of cards to share this week!

First up, I have this bright, fun card using the current Mojo Monday sketch! I got to use Gorgeous Grunge (finally!) which I got for Christmas, haha... The color combination came from MDS. I wanted to use one of these butterflies that were punched out for a class HERE, and needed some ideas on what to pair with Tangerine Tango! Handy, huh??
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Yippee Skippee
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango markers
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Crumb Cake & Sweater Weather (retired- Holiday Mini)
Accessories: Itty Bitty Butterfly punch, Designer Label punch, Chevron Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals

Another Weekly Page

Happy Monday to you!
I have decided to continue the same 52 Page Project I started last year, as part of 2014. That way I'm at least scrapping the highlights, and we DO have something consistent to look back on, haha. It really is a handy way to document your life. I've seen people do double page layouts of each month, but I take too many pictures for that, so a page a week is about perfect.
First tho, I have to finish 2013's pages! This weekend I got three of the June pages done, hahaha, so I'm sharing one today! This is the most complicated of the pages, if that tells you anything. Very simple scrapping! What are you working on?

Blog Hop: Celebrate the Everyday!

Welcome to our Blog Hop! This month we're all featuring products from the brand spankin' new Occasions Mini catalog, which begins today!
Also, since it was the first time I actually stamped anything in more than a couple weeks, I went a little nuts diving back into the sketches, haha! Have you missed seeing cards on my blog? This post might make up for it...

First up, this card uses the current Freshly Made Sketch, new framelits and one new stamp set! I love the sketch and the fun colors! The pennants are actually a bit longer than you see here- I had to trim the tops off when my first creation didn't quite work, lol. What do you think of the cute new stamp??
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral
Paper: Calypso Coral & Whisper White card stocks, I Am Me DP
Accessories: Banners Framelits Dies, Big Shot

This card might be my favorite of the three, using the current Mojo Monday sketch, the same stamp set and same banner dies! The silver ribbon carried over from the Holiday Mini to the Occasions Mini too!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Real Red, Basic Gray
Paper: Smoky Slate, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Silver Ribbon, Banners Framelits Dies, Big Shot, Brights Candy Dots

Wow, this card was an adventure to make, LOL! I used the current Retro Sketch. Have you tried making the star burst yet? I'm sure there's an easier way than what I did, but I do like the result! Here you can see three new stamps (same set!) and two new washi tapes!
Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky card stocks
Accessories: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, Dimensionals

Now, aren't you dying to see the other new products everyone else used?? Me too! Lets go check 'em out and be sure to leave some comments! We all like to know what people think of our work!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you! Hope yours was fun and stress-free! Ours was a fun night and I even got a scrapbook page made of it already, haha!
I put together the top "page" here, with the photo collage and title, and posted that on facebook last night, about 1230. Today I created the background "paper" using the Party stamp and two text boxes, and the handy copy/paste feature, haha! I added the layer of Silver Glimmer paper, and plunked the photo collage on top! Then I just put the journaling into the little flag at the bottom! Quick and fun!
Supplies:
MDS, Glimmer Paper download

Are you thinking of goals, resolutions or plans for the new year? If they involve stamping, let me know! Ask any questions, get inspired and have fun doing it! I know that's what I'm going to do...!
