News, News and more News!

I got some stamp time! And this card leads us right in to all the news of the day too! Bonus!!
First of all, the card.
It's a simple one, using a Viva La Verve sketch from earlier in the month. I bling-ed it up a bit with the sequins, since I made a standard size card, and I like how it turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Lots of Thanks, Snuggles & Smooches
Ink: Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush
Paper: Strawberry Slush & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Epic Day Washi Tape, In Color Sequins, Butterflies Thinlits, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Big Shot

Now, how does this tell you news? Well, the Butterflies Thinlits are back in stock, which means you can order them again! Yeay!!! And! Thru April 30, Stampin' Up! has a limited time offer to help with the frustration of the Framelits being unavailable-
  1. Get the Butterflies Thinlits at a 15 percent discount--just $21.20!
  2. Buy any of the Butterflies Thinlits Bundles at a 15 percent discount and choose one of three FREE Sale-A-Bration items (only available while supplies last)!
And! Four items on this card are on the retiring list!!! That's right- the retiring lists came out today! Check out the retiring stamps HERE.
Check out the retiring accessories HERE.
Check out the retiring MDS items (all of them are retiring, but the updated discounted prices) HERE.

Which ones are retiring from today's project?

  • Strawberry Slush card stock and ink,
  • In Color Sequins
  • Epic Day Washi Tape!

*I should also note, I don't yet know which products will carry over from the Occasions Mini, nor do I know what will happen to the Photopolymer stamp sets that were released monthly, instead of in a catalog. That means you might want to consider ordering Butterfly Basics and Snuggles & Smooches before they too are gone!

Workshop Demo & Sneak Peek!

Happy Friday to you! Yeay for weekends!
Last night I had a workshop, with a hostess*! That's always a fun way to spend a couple hours! This is the card I demonstrated, to feature the Blendabilities. I used them to color the flowers and stems, but also the pearl!! How fun is that?!
AND this same card is going to be part of my upcoming September classes! So here's your sneak peek! I also used the current Retro Sketch for the layout, even tho I tipped the card base to fit the large image...
and, ignore the flaws...things happen when you're rushing at the end of a long day, giggle...
Supplies:
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies
Ink: Memento Black, Blendabilities: Old Olive, Calypso Coral
Paper: Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Whisper White card stocks, Park Lane DP
Accessories: Basic Pearls

*That doesn't happen nearly often enough! Want to volunteer? I would love to do a workshop at YOUR house with YOUR friends and you can keep the FREE hostess benefits with $150 or more in sales!

Blog Hop: Featuring the Big Shot!

...and all the things you can do with it!
Happy August to you, and welcome to another fun blog hop!
(also, if you're a regular reader of mine, today I have cards!!!)
This month, Stampin' Up! is offering a really awesome promotion with the Big Shot! If you don't own a Big Shot, this is the best time to buy one! Until August 31, you can buy a Big Shot and get a Framelits and Stamp Set bundle for FREE! Already own a Big Shot? No problem- you can get a 15% discount on the same selected bundles!! YEAY!
(check the list of bundles at the bottom of this post)
And that is why our August Blog Hop features the Big Shot- to show you the fun things you can do once you get one of these in your house too!

My first card uses the very fun On Film framelits. There are lots of cute framelits in that set but my favorite is this polaroid frame! I also used the Calypso Coral Blendabilities which! you should know that ALL Blendabilites are available for you to order today!
Supplies:
Stamps: Swallowtail
Ink: Memento Black Ink, Calypso Coral Blendabilities
Paper: Park Lane DP, Calypso Coral & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, On Film Framelits, Linen Thread

The second card fits the NAC100 challenge- and I used the #53 sketch. In case it isn't obvious, my favorite way to use the Big Shot is to emboss chunks of paper. Here I used the Honeycomb embossing folder and then scuffed an ink pad across it! Such a quick, cool look! But I also used another die - the Banners Die, for the greeting tag!
Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Island Indigo, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Crumb Cake
Paper: Island Indigo, Crumb Cake & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Banners Framelits Dies

Alright, now go check out the rest of the Blog Hop, see what you could do if you owned the Big Shot and figure out your August order! *grin!

Woodgrain Thanks

Here's another card that used a bunch of supplies... and I think it's kinda fun.
For this card I used a recent Clean & Simple sketch, and kinda mixed it up. I stamped and embossed the bottom section, and repeated the sentiment a couple times. The punched flowers are popped up on Dimensionals, with Cajun Craze Candy Dots. I like the pops of color!

Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Island Indigo
Paper: Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Petite Petals Punch, Chevron Ribbon, Big Shot, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Regals Candy Dots

Thousand Thanks

Today is the day!! Will I see you here? *grin

Here is another card to fill up my board. I would have liked the sketch better with some DP but I don't have any from the new catalog yet! That meant I had to make my own! *grin I embossed the bottom layer and stamped the Mossy Meadow layer - works well enough!
For this card I used the Viva la Verve second June sketch.
Supplies:
Stamps: Truly Grateful, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Arrows Embossing Folder, Hexagon Punch (for flagged ends)

Pink Flowers

I've got my New Catalog Workshop this Friday {are you coming?!} so I am trying to finish filling my display board before then! Super handy that Tuesday was cold and rainy! (it's been in the 90's lately and Tuesday it stayed in the 60's) I decided to pull out any stamp sets that are used less than twice on the board already, haha. I thought that was a good way to show some variety!
The first card I made this round used the Nacho Average sketch that I am late for...ahem...
Supplies:
Stamps: Petite Petals, Lots of Thanks, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Blushing Bride, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bridge, Pool Party
Accessories: Epic Day Washi Tape, Petite Petals Punch, Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Rhinestones

Simple card!

Show of hands- who wants to see a card? haha! I know, I know, my last several posts have all been scrappy, but I have some cards done now to share with you! (Yes, I still know how, hahaha!)

Today's card was a super quick one and uses the latest Retro Sketch and my newest embossing folder! This time I used some of the Coordinations card stock and sanded it to let some white shine thru on the arrows! Fun, huh?
Supplies:
Stamps: Lots of Thanks
Ink: Wild Wasabi
Paper: Pool Party Coordinations card stock, Epic Day DP
Accessories: Natural Buttons, Pool Party twine (SAB14 accessory pack), Arrows Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Glue Dots, Sanding Block, Hexagon punch

A new sketch!

Same apology as posted Friday about the foggy, gray skies affecting the quality of my pictures...I tried the two brightest spots in my house and got very yellowy pictures...blah!

Its a new-to-me challenge blog that I took this sketch from. I tried the Paper Players site and this was their current sketch!

This is the card I demonstrated at my workshop Thursday. I liked that I was able to feature so many products and create something so cute! This project features the main Catalog, but was also inspired by the Sale-A-Bration brochure. If you've looked at it, you know that Stampin' Up! has suggested bundles to help you reach your $50 requirement, and the bundles work well with specific Sale-A-Bration freebies. One of them used the Tag A Bag items, found on page 158 of the catalog, so I thought I'd share an "out of the box" way to use some of those same items! I have two tags on this card, and the Bakers Twine that come from the Tag A Bag Accessory Kit!
Supplies:
Stamps: Lots of Thanks, Summer Silhouettes
Ink: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green & Crushed Curry markers
Paper: Primrose Petals, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Tag A Bag Accessory Kit (green stripe tag, sentiment block, twine), Regals Candy Dots, Dimensionals

Flowers!

Here's a couple flowery cards from my class this week!
This one uses the latest Clean & Simple sketch, and some Washi Tape for the borders around the greeting! I use these flowers a lot and this is a really great result!
Supplies:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Midnight Muse, Melon Mambo
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Gingham Garden Washi Tape

And this one uses the latest Retro Sketch, and comes with a disclaimer: that "thank you" didn't fit, lol! I don't recommend using it with that frame image, but I wasn't about to remake the card either, haha...Oh well. Now YOU know! I'm happy to help you out! *grin
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Sketched, Four Frames, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Basic Gray, Real Red, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White card stocks,
Accessories: Tea Lace Doilies, Basic Pearls, Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals, Blender Pens

Card from a Kit!

I love the Thankful Tablescape Kit Stampin' Up! offers in the Holiday Mini. So many fun and cute things in it! But we're not the type of people to have settings like this at Thanksgiving. (is that weird?) I thought it would be really fun to make scrapbook pages and cards with the kit instead...! Honestly the pretty paper is almost all from the Sweater Weather DP (except the birch paper) but its handy to have it die-cut. And I looove the chalkboard pieces!

My first card is one we made at the yesterday's class... The layout is completely CASE'd from the demonstrator magazine, but hey, that's the point! I trimmed off a bit of the houndstooth print, and then the dotty Soft Sky print is a scrap from the Sweater Weather DP package. Oh, and I added the button and the card base.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lots of Thanks
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Sahara Sand card stock, Sweater Weather DP, Thankful Tablescape Kit
Accessories: Chevron Punch, Hexagon Punch, Neutral Buttons, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Autumn butterflies!

A late start, but happy Monday to you, nonetheless! I had a packed weekend and I don't see that letting up for several more days still, haha...

But here is the first card from my Thank You card class tomorrow! This design is based on a sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches blog. I used the very sweet Itty Bitty Butterfly punch, along with the Sweater Weather DP to make the fun butterflies, and then stamped a butterfly with the greeting. This card is like "sales in action", because the butterfly stamp set and punch were on sale a few weeks ago, and then the greeting has been on sale til today!

There's still time for me to prep supplies if you want to come to the class! And if you want any of the stamp sets that are 25% off, place your order before 11:50 MT tonight!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Lots of Thanks
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry
Paper: Crushed Curry card stock, Sweater Weather DP
Accessories: Itty Bitty Butterfly Punch
