The Mark Twain Riverboat

Today's layout is one I really like and that might be because I really enjoyed this ride!
This was done in the long-retired MDS, and I resized the tree to HUGE, lol, and flipped it onto the other page too, in another color. And the blue at the bottom was various strips of DP and digital "ribbon".

Supplies:
Stamps: Forever Young tree
Ink: Certainly Celery, Glorious Green (opacity changed)
Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Ice Cream Parlor strip, Sunny Day strip, Summer Home border strip
Journaling Font: Niagara Solid

It's a little bit fuzzy when I combined the two pages into a single "photo", so I've shared each photo separately too.

And another funny thing is that we were in this park three days and I watched this river boat more than once and we never got a picture of the boat itself! Fortunately our niece went a few weeks after we did, so I asked her to take a picture for us, hahaha!

March 2018 Paper Pumpkin

Way back in December I set a goal for myself to finish off my stack of Paper Pumpkin kits, and use them! I haven't done very good with that goal, but the last two afternoons I finished off a kit from 2018! I did a lot this time.
I think this is a gorgeous kit, I love the colors (now retired!) and the style. But I am never going to hand deliver 8 cards, and the envelopes can only be used that way. And honestly, I wanted those envelopes used as cards, not just an outer shell to be tossed!

So the first time I played with this kit, I shared it HERE
The second time, I shared it HERE.
And this time, I made a bunch of cards (this first one is how it was designed)
(the third one here is how it was designed)
(these next four are the cover of the envelope now added to a card front, thanks.)

Then I made a scrapbook page, using photos from 2013...that were also printed in 2013.... duuude....
And I still have this much left over!
I sort all of this into an old Paper Pumpkin box that holds all of the stamps (okay, okay, there are two of these now...!), another box that holds the ink spots, a box that holds the scraps and then the embellishments are sorted into all of my retired embellishment stash.

And this time there was a free gift, for it being the 5 year anniversary of Paper Pumpkin, and here is what I have left from that!

And I'm not kidding- Paper Pumpkin kits come with even more supplies! So I'm okay that the prices have increased a little bit. It's only gone up twice, and only a little bit each time. And ev.ery.thing. has gone up. a lot, in a lot of cases. sigh. This, to me, is still worth the price. And here is the sneak peek for the upcoming kit!

This kit includes:

  • All the supplies you need to create 9 card, 3 each of 3 designs, plus 9 coordinating envelopes.
  • A 7-piece all-occasion stamp set that celebrates good friends and great adventures!
  • 1 Copper Clay (new In Color!) Classic Stampin’ Spot.
  • Twine and die-cut accents
  • FREE stickers to put on your projects or anything you want—water bottles, laptops, coolers, and more!
  • Finished card size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" (10.8 x 14 cm).
  • Coordinating Stampin’ Up! colors: Boho Blue, Copper Clay, Daffodil Delight, Moody Mauve, Mossy Meadow, Pebbled Path, Wild Wheat

Walt & Mickey

The classic Walt and Mickey statue in front of the Disneyland castle is now almost entirely blocked by the photographer you have to pay for. It's not all bad, they do take good pictures... but I didn't want to pay for that too... so we didn't get that shot this time. But in California Adventure we found this other statue of Walt and Mickey, so we took advantage of that! And honestly we really liked this younger Walt statue.

Stamps: Just Perfect Alphabet
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Pool Party card stock, This And That Epic Day DP
Accessories: Silver brads
Journaling Font: A Font With Serifs

I also really loved this pack of DP when it came out, a number of years ago. It was nice to use up a good chunk of a sheet here, hahaha!

Sending...

Today I have the same set as yesterday, but in a different color combo. This time I used the colors from the As You See It challenge blog. Although I used Daffodil Delight again instead of So Saffron...

I didn't actually intend to make two, but I meant to stamp the flowers in Gorgeous Grape and when you're doing six other things you might grab the wrong ink pad, lol... So I did a big old purple "sending" instead.

And then I stamped it the way I had envisioned, and put it on the Coastal Cabana base this time.
And here they are together!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana, Parakeet Party, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Basic White, Coastal Cabana card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals

Do you have a favorite?

Also, quick tip for you - when using Dimensionals, you don't need a ton. Just enough to hold your layer up. Like this:

Blue Daisies!

I decided to get this set before the bundled price went away (hurry if you want it!!) so I broke it out and made up a handful of cards.

Today I have two that almost match, just a difference of card base! This time I used the color combo from Color Throwdown, which I interpreted to be Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Tahitian Tide. I first did white on white, leaving the colorful flowers to pop.

Then I mounted it onto the Tahitian Tide card stock instead.
Which one do you like best?
Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Tahitain Tide, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green
Paper: Basic White & Tahitian Tide card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals

Character Paper

Happy Saturday! I hope it's a good weekend for you!
Back to some Disney trip...! This page is super simple, but it was one of those times when the DP I have in my stash that worked so perfectly with the characters we found! Acorns for Chip and the Razzleberry foliage for Daisy's outfit, from the same pack!
And this was the only time we found Daisy Duck - who was someone my youngest really wanted to meet! These were the first three stops this morning and it was off to a great start, haha!

Supplies:
Stamps: Creative Elements
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Into The Woods DP
Journaling Font: Susie's Hand

Soft Ranunculus x2

Happy Friday to you!! I hope it's a fabulous weekend for all of us!

I follow a lot of other stampers, some blogs, some on social media, whatever, and I get a lot of inspiration from them, not to mention a lot of know-how. The other day I saw THIS stunning card made by Tammy Wilson and I reeeally wanted to try!
I used more colors than she did, or at least a wider variety of colors, so my card looks more busy, but I still really like how it turned out!

Supplies:
Stamps: Ranunculus Romance (retiring)
Ink: Mint Macaron (retiring), Blushing Bride (retiring), Early Espresso
Paper: Mint Macaron (retiring), Early Espresso, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Crinkled White Ribbon (retiring), Basic Pearls (retiring), Ranunculus Dies (retiring), Dimensionals, Blending Brush

The big ranunculus die in the center is White card stock that I used a Blending Brush and Mint Macaron ink on. I also used the Blending Brush and same ink all over the background piece, altho it's more subtle.

I actually stamped a different mat, covering a lot more of it. I assembled the dies and laid it over each to see which I liked better, haha, and went with the simpler one.

and then, I had so much fun I made another!
This one has been stuck in the mail but I know it hasn't arrived yet. Oh well- spoilers!
This version is even fancier, haha. I used the Blending Brush again and two shades of ink on the large flower die, and this time added a hint of Freesia ink to the die cut flowers. I have two kinds of ribbon embellishments and two kinds of dot embellishments, haha. And I think it is lovely and I know it will be appreciated!
Supplies:
Stamps: Ranunculus Romance (retiring)
Ink: Fresh Freesia, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake
Paper: Fresh Freesia, So Saffron (retiring), Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Brass Butterflies, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, White Crinkled Ribbon (retiring), Ranunculus dies (retiring), Resin Hearts (retired), big shot (retired)

What are you making this week?

Cookies!

I've been trying to put together a card class for a month and a half now and finally designed all the cards, lol! That's what my life has looked like lately, and it isn't even to the end of school year crazy time! But don't worry- that is on. its. way.

But for this moment, I have a cute, happy card for you! I used the latest Freshly Made Sketch, tho slightly modified. And even tho a lot of the supplies I'm using for the class are on the Last Chance list and even sold out, we'll make this next week! Are you coming?

Supplies:
Stamps: Nothings Better Than (retiring)
Ink: Memento Black, Balmy Blue, Soft Suede (retiring)
Paper: Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Basic White card stocks
Accessories:  Classic Matte Dots, Dimensionals, Love You More Than dies (retiring), Circle dies (retired), big shot (retired)

Leaving California Adventure

I got my computer to talk to the hard drive, so blog posts are now scheduled!

So today we're back to some Disney. This is a digital page of the end of our first day at California Adventure and just some fun things we enjoyed seeing and listening to. I happen to love how this page turned out. The blank film square will hold a QR code of the swing band, because my band kid loved it.

Supplies: MDS- long retired

I hope you're having a good weekend!

Last Day of 5th Grade!

This is a busy month at my house, and we're not even to the end-of-year crazy. But combine that with my computer not talking to the hard drive where the photos are, and that means not a lot of blogging...

It was really hot (86*, when a week before it was snowing and in the teens...!) and now it's cooled off to a rainy, gray spring day, with maybe just a little snow mixed in.
So today I have a bright page for you! This page finished off the Brights Candy Dots- those tiny accessories sprinkled all over this page. And I thought a bunch of hexagons with different prints from this pack of DP was a fun, summery idea too. What do you think?

Supplies:
Stamps: Just Perfect Alphabet
Ink: Granny Apple Green
Paper: Basic White, Dandy Designs (SAB 2023)
Accessories: Brights Candy Dots (the end!), Hexagon Punch
Journaling Font: Janda Cheerful Script

30!

Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend! Ours was good. Except winter abruptly ended and summer arrived and now its hot!

Today's card uses retired and retiring products, lol, but worked great for someone special having a birthday soon! I liked the color combo from Inspire.Create.Challenges and I put it with the Freshly Made Sketch, and juuust missed getting it in before the deadline. You can't tell here, but I used a Blending Brush to add some swirls of Bermuda Bay ink under the die cut "30".

Supplies:
Stamps: Number of Years (retired)
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Polished Pink (both retiring)
Paper: Bermuda Bay (retiring), Basic White card stocks, Dandy Designs DP (retired Sale-A-Bration 2023)
Accessories: Blending Brush, Glitter Enamel Dots (retired), Large Numbers Framelits (retired), big shot

And hopefully this one arrives on time! I keep running behind!

Wax Museum

Tonight I'm posting pretty late for me, but I have a fun one! I put this layout together this evening for my daughter. The photos are several years old and most of the supplies are too!

I love vintage collage styles and I don't usually feel like I can do it well. I saw a challenge to use seven layers on a project and this is a good way to do it! So each page here has a little cluster with seven layers of stuff!

Supplies:
Stamps: Straight Up Alphabet & Numbers (long retired)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry (retiring)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Timeworn Collection Heirloom (2005?)
Accessories: Linen Thread, Blending Brush, Natural Ribbon (retired), Artisan Embellishment Kit (doily, purple velvet ribbon, pearls) (long retired), really old tag punch out sheets retired so long I don't even know what it was,
Journaling Font: Century Schoolbook

So here are some closeups of those fun little clusters:

I hope you're making fun things too!

We Create Blog Hop: April Showers...

...bring May flowers!
And so I am focusing on some bright flowers today! Because I cannot get over the fact that it is April and this year is just zooming past at the speed of light! (doesn't help that there are three inches of snow on the grass, that wasn't there Tuesday, and it keeps being less than 30* in the mornings) But, a new month means a new blog hop, so here we are!
I took inspiration from SUO Challenges and made the small square Crumb Cake card shown, but in bright pink! And this one has already been mailed out- and it was late too! Rats!
Supplies:
Stamps: Happiness Abounds
Ink: Melon Mambo
Paper: Flirty Flamingo & Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Opal Rounds, Bakers Twine, Dimensionals

The twine is a little wonky, but the recipient won't mind.
Also, you need to know that this stamp set and the Opal Rounds are retiring! The Opals will be 50% off starting April 4, but things tend to sell out quickly, so if you love these, you'll want to place an order very soon!

Now hop along over to Cheryl using the button below.
Then hop on through to see what everyone has made to inspire you today!

And make something pretty yourself, and mail it out to someone! They'll love it and so will you!
