Gray on Gray on Gray!

I gotta say, this is one of my very favorite pages in recent months! The layout is simple enough, and I used up some more old DP, along with a retired stamp. The strips and the polka-dot chunk were already cut to those sizes, I just fit them on the page! I love how the tools look stamped over the polka-dot print! Clearly I was on a DP kick this scrappy night... haha, but that's good because it uses up my stash, AND it all lays flat in the books!

Card for a guy!

The final card from yesterday's class flipped the rectangles on the sketch to the other side. I used some great elements for a guy card so this works as a male birthday card or father's day, or whatever you may need. However, for the first time in my demonstrator career, I did use a retired item....the DP was retired this summer! gasp!!

I have returned!

Oh my goodness, I haven't stamped for half the summer! Where have I been?? Very, very busy enjoying time with these two munchkins

and working most nights! But obviously, school started this week and hey! I found some time to stamp! Which was important because my dad's birthday is also this week, and I needed to make him a card.

I used Susan's August Rainy Sketch for the design, and even used the same embellishment she did- but I had to, lol, because the button looks like wood and my dad's hobby is creating things out of wood!

My kids also made him some birthday cards. My daughter wanted me to make the card and she would decorate it. I let her choose from my stash, and she picked this card from last summer -incidentally also designed with instructions from Susan, lol- and boy did she have fun decorating it! hee hee!

And my son created this exciting card...

New Toys!

Happy April Fools Day! Did you do anything fun? We're having a quiet Sunday at home, but I'm sure my son has something up his sleeve....
Fortunately for my need to craft, (going back to yesterday's post) lol, I received a fun order this week that included some new stamp sets! That really is motivating, you know! *grin
This makes for a simple and pretty quick card, but I really like it. Its already a grunged up sort of stamp image, but then I used the Cutter Kit to rough-up the edges, and then we scrubbed some More Mustard ink around to further age and distress it. I think the Linen Thread adds to it well.
