Mini Stamp Class for a Mini Stamper!

Last week my daughter needed stitches...
Consequently, she needed to give some thank you cards to sweet and thoughtful friends! I asked if she wanted me to make the cards and she could just write in them, or did she want to stamp the cards herself? Her typical style can be found HERE. But this time she asked if I would create the cards and teach her to make them, just like I do in my classes. awww!

So, I pulled out some retired DP and ribbons and went to work designing! She did a really good job trying new things! Here you can see my card's next to her's.
I used Susan's Sketch for this first card...but since the tree image took up so much space, I'm hoping to use the sketch again later!
Supplies:
Stamps: Forever Young
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: Very Vanilla & Soft Suede card stock, Everyday Enchantment DP (retired)
Accessories: Lucky Limade organdy ribbon (retired)

I used last week's Mojo Monday sketch for this card:
Supplies:
Stamps: Petite Pairs
Ink: Melon Mambo
Paper: Melon Mambo & Whisper White card stocks, Spring Fever Simply Scrappin DP (retired)
Accessories: 1 3/8 inch square punch, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon (retired)

And finally I used the latest sketch from Stamping 411 for this card. I thought I would like this card, and I know my daughter enjoyed all the colors, but the bingo piece with the polka dot dp makes the card waaay too busy for my taste. Oh well- she likes it!
Supplies:
Stamps: Button Button, Bingo Card, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Gray, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Peach Parfait, Early Espresso
Paper: Whisper White & Peach Parfait (retired) card stocks, Just Add Cake DP (retired)
Accessories: Peach Parfait twill Ribbon (retired)

Basketball!

This page uses a recently retired stamp but I wanted to show it off anyway, because I really like how it turned out!
And if you love the layout and want to recreate it, there's a new sport set in the catalog with a fun basketball, and any other ball you might need!
and here's a close up for the detail, because I really love when inspiration strikes and it works out nicely! I free-handed the bounce line with the marker!
Supplies:

Stamps: Slam Dunk (retired), Taffy Alphabet (long retired)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Gumball Green marker
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Garden Green card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals

School kids

Here's another car for my display board...I love this stamp image from Greeting Card Kids. I thought this could be a cute thinking of you for a mom who's kiddos are all in school now, a 'best wishes" card for someone going back to school, a retirement card for a teacher, or a congrats card for someone who landed a new job as a teacher! But since I don't have a need for any of those today, I left it blank. hee hee!
The card design comes from a sample shown in the new catalog! I swapped out the colors but its the same idea!
Supplies:
Stamps: Greeting Card Kids
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Regals Brads, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens

Trees!

Here are two cards I made last week using the Lovely As A Tree set. One was shipped off for Father's Day, lol, and the other is on my display board!
They use almost the same supplies, and the very same technique - I stamped the whole tree into the Soft Suede ink, then tapped the marker edge sideways (like this: _ ) using the Always Artichoke, Gumball Green and Lucky Limeade markers to make the leaves green.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree
Ink: Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla & Old Olive card stocks
Accessories: Linen Thread
Supplies:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Four Frames, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla & Old Olive card stocks
Accessories: Linen Thread, Decorative Label Punch

Pink and Flowers!

Today we're back to the cards on the display board!
This card is the product of this sketch along with my need to use the set Button Button. I really wanted it on my display board but wanted a creative way to use it. Also I noticed my board was lacking in pinks so I fixed that! {ahem}...this is what I came up with!
I did clear emboss and punch holes in the button that I have tied with white Bakers Twine. You can't tell at all in the photo but its shiny IRL.
Supplies:
Stamps: Button Button, Thoughts & Prayers
Ink: Melon Mambo, Versamark
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Accessories: White Organza Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Mat Pack, White Bakers Twine, Dimensionals

To Digi-Scrap!

For my workshop I featured the My Digital Studio Software. I had the dvd I made about my grandmother playing on my tv and I had my one printed book out on display. Then instead of demonstrating a traditional paper-page, I demonstrated a digital scrapbook page! I used a challenge to use this quote, some green and two kinds of DP and created this:
The photos were taken the last week in May. My daughter loves my parents dog, Ann, and these photos were fun to take without either of them knowing!
Its a very basic page, but quick to demonstrate, and since the photos are new, I was able to emphasize that fun point of using My Digital Studio!

Some things to take note of:
  • Many coordinating product suites come on a content disk for a very reasonable price. (See these on page 198-199 of the new catalog, also offered in mini catalogs!)
  • Hostess items include content disks, which you can only get by hosting (or by placing a big enough order on your own)
  • Digital Downloads are released regularly to keep your content fresh and fun!
  • You can still download the 30 day FREE trial version and give it a shot!
  • If you purchase the current version of My Digital Studio ($79.95) you can upgrade to the new MDS 2 (coming later this year) for FREE!
  • If you already own the My Digital Studio software, you can upgrade to the new MDS 2 for only $19.95!
So why not give the free trial a shot and place your order for this fun and easy program?

Daffodil & Baja!

I received the Patio Party DP for having a friend join Stampin' Up! during Sale-A-Bration. It is the only current DP I have right now, so its the only DP I'm using on my display board and you'd think I'd be getting tired of it. However, it has a nice variety of patterns that can be used in so many ways! That's where this DP comes from, yesterdays pink argyle, and the brighter, bolder patterns I've been using lately too! I really love the variety Stampin' Up! offers in their paper packs.

This color combination was reached by using the sweet little heart pattern with a thin ribbon that had a matching button...Daffodil Delight! I am really happy with it! annnd I'm convinced I need more words. Bigger words...! I used THIS sketch to create the card and kept it pretty clean and simple.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lean On Me
Ink: Island Indigo
Paper: Baja Breeze & Whisper White card stocks, Patio Party DP
Accessories: Daffodil thin Taffeta ribbon, Brights Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Scallop Edge Punch

Make & Take!

Here's the pretty make & take you wish you were here to have made! haha!
Actually, the people who came used Very Vanilla card stock instead of Whisper White. Vanilla goes much better with the lace. Very basic stamping, perfect for beginners, but pretty enough for anyone. Also we used Teeny Tiny Wishes to stamp the greeting of their choice on the Primrose card stock, beneath the tree image. I haven't decided which greeting I want, so for now it stays blank. I love it!
Supplies:
Stamps: Forever Young, (Teeny Tiny Wishes)
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Whisper White, Primrose Petals & Early Espresso card stocks, Patio Party DP
Accessories: Crochet Lace Trim, Vintage Trinkets, Mini Glue Dot

Sympathy Flowers

Today is my New Catalog workshop! Are you coming? I have a pretty and quick make and take for you to create, retired stamps for sale, cards for sale, a full display board with plenty of cards you haven't seen yet, and pretty, new catalogs for you to peruse! I also made my yummy lemon bars!

The card I'm sharing today's is a sympathy card, and its NOT for my display board, its to send to someone, later than I intended. I used this sketch and the set I purchased for sympathy, but then I used different sympathetic words, lol. Its simple, but I think its pretty.
Too bad that second word stamp came out crooked again.... I don't think the recipient will mind....
Supplies:
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers, Petite Pairs
Ink: Chocolate Chip & Regal Rose markers
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: 1/2 inch punch, White Stitched Grosgrain, Dimensionals

Love Card

Just a quick post today- It feels like I have about a thousand things to do and only a few hours left to do it all in! gulp!
This card uses the current Mojo Monday sketch. My favorite part is the heart tabs on the side! I designed the whole card without choosing a focal image, which is really unusual for me! This image worked pretty well, lol! At least it continues the heart theme!
Supplies:
Stamps: Greeting Card Kids, Itty Bitty Banners, Make a Cake
Ink: Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White, Midnight Muse & Baja Breeze card stocks, Patio Party DP
Accessories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pens, White Stitched ribbon, Dimensionals

Rainbow birthday!

In the last 24 hours I've made a bunch more cards for my display board! :) I even created the make n take for my workshop on Saturday! I'm really excited about this!
Lately I've seen some fun card ideas (well, and all sorts of crafts really) using a rainbow of colors and thought the Pennant Punch would be perfect for that design! Its a super simple card but makes a fun birthday card for anyone!
Supplies:
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals

Christmas Candy!

Since I'm borrowing this Sweets for the Sweet stamp set from my mom (to help me fill up my board!) I thought this week's sketch from Stamping 411 was perfect for a quick Christmas card! Not to mention how yummy those peppermint candies look! LOL!
Also, this is the first time I've used the new Gumball Green. It works well for this Christmas card but you know what it would be absolutely perfect for? Frogs and turtles. It is SUCH a great reptile green! Off hand, there's a frog in the new Ronald McDonald set, a turtle in a new baby set, and ooo! the dinosaurs, aliens and monster stamp sets!!

And as a side note, I'm having a hard time stamping my greetings straight...do I need glasses? I don't know what the issue is but its kind of driving me crazy.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sweets for the Sweet, Come to Bethlehem
Ink: Real Red, Basic Gray
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Gumball Green card stocks
Accessories: Real Red thin Taffeta ribbon

Nautical Father's Day!

Here's a nice Father's Day card that uses the current Mojo Monday sketch. I am so happy this set lasted to this catalog! I seriously love it! I also managed to use a red-white-and-blue color combination here, lol...

Oh, you see how the greeting is not where the sketch had it? I had the globe panel higher, in fact the string went over it. But I stamped the words so crookedly beneath it that I had to move the panel and fit the words in above it! sneaky, sneaky!
Supplies:
Stamps: The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Real Red
Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Real Red card stocks
Accessories: Brights Buttons, Cherry Cobbler baker's twine

Fun Birthday Card

Yes I am still working on filling up my display board!
Today's card uses two stamp sets and a smattering of new In Colors for a fun, summery look. I used the current Clean & Simple sketch.
I thought the pinwheels were a fun little thing to line up like that. I popped the pinwheels and the banner greeting up on dimensionals to make the card a little more interesting. And its also a handy way of dealing with the pinwheel sticks! *grin
Supplies:
Stamps: Sweets for the Sweet, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Pool Party, Raspberry Ripple & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Dimensionals
