Lazy Days

One of *my favorite things about being a demonstrator is that when my mom places an order, I get to play with her stamps and dies to see if I can create a way to use it in an upcoming class. haha... I have eleven current stamp sets in my possession and three belong to my mom. Most of the time we have the same taste in things, but sometimes we get a new catalog and have totally different interests. This set is one of those. I actually like the set a lot as a concept, but in use it's quite a bit more tricky. However, I love the little chairs and lemonade so that's what I tried to play with first.

All three cards use the latest from Freshly Made Sketches,

This first card is not my favorite, but it has a few of the latest In Colors, and it's just fine, haha. Not every card will be my favorite.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lazy Days
Ink: Wild Wheat, Copper Clay, Boho Blue
Paper: Boho Blue, Basic White, Wild Wheat card stocks
Accessories: Lazy Days Dies, Blending Brush, Dimensionals, big shot (retired)

And this card uses colors that to me, scream "August!" which is when lemonade would be the best, haha! And I'm thinkin my new In Color ink pads are too juicy......!
Supplies:
Stamps: Lazy Days
Ink: Pebbled Path, Crushed Curry, Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends
Paper: Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla card stocks

This last card is my favorite of these, haha... I colored these with the Watercolor Pencils, and scrubbed Balmy Blue ink very lightly all over the top panel with a Blending Brush. I also drew the string the bird house hangs from with the Basic Gray Watercolor Pencil.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lazy Days
Ink: Smoky Slate, Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue
Paper: Basic White, Smoky Slate card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Blending Brush

What do you think of this set? There are so many other things to do with it too!

Birthday Wishes!

I made a card!! Yeay!! This one does not use a kit- just a sketch and some pretty colors! I used the sketch from The Paper Players, which has more layers than I typically play with, but I like the result!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sending Smiles
Ink: Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist
Paper: Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia, Basic White, Bright & Beautiful DP
Accessories: Brushed Brass Butterflies, Circle Dies, Dimensionals, big shot (retired)

The photo isn't great- it's overcast and I kept getting weird results, but this is my first time playing with the new Lemon Lolly and I really like it! I'm gonna need that ink pad too!

Random Characters

This is Princess Elena, a less popular princess we weren't necessarily expecting to see. She comes from a tv show that is a spin off from another tv show, ha.... The one episode my younger daughter has seen is all about sisters, so the sisters talked to her, haha.

Paper: Poppy Parade, Everyday Enchantment DP
Accessories: Gold Gems (pp kit)
Journaling Font: Mystical Woods Smooth Script

Then these two were in Fantasyland, which we didn't expect, and not exactly "connected" either, haha. Everything Pixar is in California Adventure, but okay. We absolutely were of the "take what we can get" attitude, so why not? This was made with existing items in the long-retired MDS but they fit perfectly!

I am hoping to make something with actual stamps and paper today, but we shall see. And if not, I have more Disney, haha!

Periwinkle!

There wasn't a lot to see or do with Pixie Hollow on our trip, and that was disappointing for my daughter who has been a fan of all things Peter Pan /Tinkerbell related her whole life. But on our last morning, while we were waiting for a ride, she spied this little statue of Periwinkle (from a direct-to-video Tinkerbell movie) and ran to get pictures!
Also, I never use DP like this, but! This particular sheet of DP is from the very first package of DP I ever bought as a demonstrator, sooo it's probably as old as this daughter is. haha.... And it was fine to use up like that!
Supplies:
Stamps: Alphabet Appeal (says 1998, bought in 2004)
Ink: Orchid Opulence, (retired in 2005)
Paper: Basic White, Sweet DP (bought in 2005)
Accessories: Metallic Sequin Assortment, Glue Dots
Journaling Font: Moon Flower

Iron Man!

This layout was fun, even tho it looks so simple. I had gear stamps and shiny gold card stock and that was exactly perfect for Iron Man! And, my son was wearing his Iron Man shirt the same day he had a chance to talk to him!
This interaction was hilarious and I kept trying to get video of the conversation, mixed with taking photos, haha! Yeay for fun characters!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sense of Time
Ink: Gold Delicata
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Gold Foil
Journaling Font: Incised901 BdCn BT

Toon Town!

When we went to Disneyland, Toon Town was at least half closed. Things were boarded off, things didn't work, and it was kind of sad and lame. We were conflicted as to whether it was nice to see it before it all changed, or if it would have been better to skip it... jury is still out on that one. Some of the "boarded up" signs were funny, but I feel like it was funnier 20something years ago.

However, we still took a lot of pictures of what we *could see, so that means several pages worth. And I used a lot of 6x6 pages of DP that have literally been collecting dust for maybe 10 or more years so that was a good thing!

okay well this one is digital... Because I needed to fit a lot of photos on there! But the wonky 'counter' that tells you how many people reside in Toon Town wasn't spinning, the different sounds didn't happen when you pushed buttons, lots just didn't work. Darnit.

Barely Banana, Poppy Parade, Tempting Turquoise polka dot
Journaling font: Mickey

A page of things to ride in, except Mickey's Trailer, which has always been a favorite cartoon of mine that is actually on Disney+!

Donald Duck, and his boat, and the inside of Goofy's house, showing cartoons that are not as old as Mickey's trailer, but not as new as my childhood, haha.

Both Mickey and Minnie were inside their houses but you had to wave from clear into the "street". Stupid covid. And you can glimpse the "Toon Town" sign in the mountains, like the Hollywood sign, but that's all you can see of it. Sad...

Pluto was in his garden, which was fun.

Two water fountains, Gadget's Go Coaster (which reminded my son of the Phineas & Ferb episode with the half-second roller coaster, ha!) and Chip & Dale's treehouse.
And that summarized Toon Town, while using up old DP and old buttons! Love that!

Supplies:
ToonTown:
Cars: Poppy Parade polka dots, In Color Printed Designer Brads (Island Indigo)
Mickey/ Minnie house: real red polka dot DP, Peachy Keen stamps,
Pluto: Apricot Appeal? DP Wood Buttons
Donald/house: Bashful Blue DP, Brilliant Blue buttons
Fountains: Blushing Bride? DP
Journaling Font: Minnie

Rosy Birthday

The other day when I did that Paper Pumpkin kit, I was looking for some birthday cards, and oh, I made them, haha... but I needed another for someone else and the camping theme wasn't a good fit. I sifted thru a few other kits and had just enough bits to make this card. I used the ink of my choice, because Sweet Sorbet wasn't a color when this kit was released in April 2019. But I like the result a lot!

This PP kit is actually now part of our Kits Collection, and I loved this one, and recommend you get it too! You can view and order it HERE

And I hope you get to create this weekend!!

Paper Pumpkin!

This kit from May 2023 was meant to introduce the new in colors. However, all I could see when I looked at the card base art was the camping trips of my childhood!!
I immediately sent one card out and set one aside for later. And then a few days ago I cut the rest of the cards in half and turned the stack into a whole bunch of cards, (there are 11) ready to send!

Set 1:
Set 2:
Set 3:
I even saved three halves that might be used with scrapbooks or they might be made into a card in the future.
But I am calling this kit DONE. Yeay!!

*There are coordinating cards and envelopes available HERE if you like the look of these cards. Having beautiful card bases and envelopes is so handy! Just add a greeting and maybe a bit of twine and you're set! And you can't beat the price! Before tax/shipping it works out to $0.55 per card and envelope!! (these card bases coordinate but are not the same prints)
It is for subscribers only, but it is so easy to subscribe! And you can skip any month you either don't like the look of the sneak peek or just want to spend your stamp money on something else. :)

Nick Wilde

Another Disney (or really, California Adventure) page for you today! This moment was when we were still struggling to find characters at all, so this was more exciting than it might have been, haha. Zootopia is not my favorite flick.
Lots of fonts are available online as free downloads too, so that made it fun to journal a lot of these pages.
Supplies: long-retired MDS
Colors: So Saffron polka dot, Tangerine Tango
Font: Georgia, ZootopiaJPosters

Pym's Test Kitchen!

Happy Saturday to you! I have another digital Disney page for you today!

I really did make a point to record the cost of what we ate, for a number of reasons. One- to remind us what kind of "budget" we're looking at for the next trip. And two- so that my cutest scrapbook readers see why going to Disneyland is not a frequent occurrence in our house. HA! Also I like comparing then and now so it might?? be fun to look back on how much things cost, or didn't, some day. Maybe.
This was our most expensive meal, and the weirdest, haha. I love how everyone's face is clearly trying to understand what is on their plate! But my husband really wanted to eat here so we did!

Supplies:
Stamps: Lemonade Stand MDS
Ink: Crushed Curry
Paper: Basic White, color matched mats
Journaling Font: Century Gothic

Enchanted Tiki Room!

This summer has been busy. I don't know why I ever think it won't be, because it always is. Sooo I just need to keep Disney scheduled so that something creative shows up here!
~~~
Today I've got the page I made of our time in the Tiki Room! The DP, which includes the two tall birds, and the almost hidden strips, are from a baby product line, haha. Then I added a few more bright colored bird "stamps".
Supplies: All from the long-retired MDS
Stamps: Cheep Talk birds
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Nursery Nest DP
Journaling Font: Title- Footlight MT Light, word art in Publisher
I don't know what I expected from the Tiki Room itself, but the page was fun to make!
We Create Blog Hop: Christmas In July!
July already...half way thru the year already. So crazy to even think... But a new month means a new Blog Hop from me and my friends, so here we go!
This month we're doing Christmas in July! I was glad I had this Christmas greeting set that carried over from last year. (you can find it under the Online Exclusives HERE) And I loved the idea of mixing it with the Watercolor World stamp!
I checked some challenges and made these words work with the Festive Friday challenge (green/blue, background stamp, map) and the SUO Challenge (ribbon & twine)!
Supplies:
Stamps: Watercolor World, Hope & Peace
Ink: Pretty Peacock
Paper: Lost Lagoon card stock, Bright & Beautiful DP
Accessories: Festive Pearls, Gingham Ribbon, White Bakers Twine, Dimensionals
It isn't often I stamp directly on to DP because that would be when I would be most likely to drop the stamp or somehow mess it up, but I liked this particular sheet with the world stamp. And I love that greeting. I know I have felt that way the last few Christmases! Anyway, even tho it was a stretch, I am happy with how this card turned out.
Now use the button below to hop on over to Kimberly's blog and see what Christmas idea she has created for you.
Then hop along thru and see what everyone has created. We are a small group, haha. But we're full of fun ideas you won't want to miss!
