Thinking of You

Happy Monday!
Today's card quickly became one of my favorites! I used the latest As You See It challenge for this one. I chose a stamp with grass, I used the only current embossing folder I have (I have got to change that!), I used a bit of gingham ribbon and twine, and some Crumb Cake to give a nature-y feel to the card. And I had someone in mind for it to go off to this morning!

Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Moments, Inspired Thoughts
Ink: Memento Black, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron Marker
Stampin' Blends: Light Melon Mambo, Bronze, Dark Petal Pink
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Crumb Cake, Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Gingham Ribbon, Linen Thread, Bark embossing folder, Dimensionals, Big Shot

Send out a card this week! Really, really!

Old Scrapping Supplies!

Happy Friday!
Today I have a scrapbook layout that I made with my scrapping friend Cheryl's 100th sketch. If you're a scrapper, you'll want to check it out!! I love Cheryl's sketches and I've used many of them.

Everything on this page is long retired, but it is all Stampin' Up! stuff. I keep almost all my retired product and use it almost exclusively for scrapping. The DP says copyright 2006, the brads and ribbon are old enough to have the blue swirly label. The stamps, paper daisies and Candy Dots have the green floral label, haha. The ink I used to stamp the banner is current! That's it! haha! But it all made a really nice couple of pages for my daughter!

Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Whisper White, Spring Showers DP
Accessories: Paper Daisies, Brights Candy Dots, Subtles Brads, Fairy Tale Ribbon Originals, Pennant Punch
Journaling Font: The Serif Hand Black

Here's a couple close ups for you...

and an even closer-up!

A Tip!

Happy Thursday!
This feels like a good day to share a little tip I've been using a lot lately.

I feel like I've used a lot of dies in my projects recently. Some of them are tricky to fit back on the cardboard sheet... I like the sheet because I can quickly see exactly what dies are included that I have to choose from. So I've been tracing around the die shapes with a pencil, so I can easily put them back and make it all fit! Like this:

While we're discussing storing dies, this is what I do. I slide the die sheet to the back of the envelope, with all the dies showing.
(And I usually have a toothpick in there too, to push out the little tiny bits... altho we do sell a handy little brush tip on page 153 that probably works better)

And then the front of the packaging faces the flap of the envelope. That way I can see it's actual name, and the flap doesn't catch on any of the dies.
At the moment, I store my dies in the same bin as my stamp sets, next to the one it bundles with. That may change when I get a craft room in the next few months, but for now that's what works for me.

Flowers or weeds?

I think that depends on your age, haha....
Today I have a card using a dandelion image I didn't expect to use, haha, but here's my second time! (my mom bought the set) This will be a birthday card for someone who loooves dandelions. I used the soft color combo from Global Design Project, and the theme from SUO Challenges, which is "plant life". I think the dandelions turned out awfully pretty!

Supplies:
Stamps: Garden Wishes
Ink: Pale Papaya, Pear Pizazz
Paper: Whisper White, Balmy Blue
Accessories: Pale Papaya Woven Ribbon

CAS Lighthouse

Today's is a card that worked better in my head than in reality... but sometimes that's okay because other people like stuff I don't necessarily like, haha! Additionally, I had a struggle getting a picture of the card! Our skies are full of smoke from wildfires in neighboring states, which creates a yellowy-orangy light on everything, and it's a lot darker outside than usual. This was the best of many, and it's still wonky...

This time I used the color combo from the CAS Colours & Sketches blog, along with the sketch from the Fusion Challenge. I thought the colors worked nicely with the sketch to make a sea and a sky.... I just need some kind of wave stamp.... lol!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sailing Home, Inspired Thoughts
Ink: Real Red, Night of Navy
Paper: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, In Good Taste DP
Accessories: Smooth Sailing Dies, White Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Big Shot (retired)

What are you making this week? And who will you send it to?

Autumn Trees

This is the first card I've made all month long! Aaaahhhh! But I love how it turned out so okay. haha... I used the color inspiration from Just Add Ink which is a gorgeous autumnal palette, and autumn is my favorite so there you go.
It was really a very simple card to make. I tapped the D block on my Bermuda Bay ink pad til I felt it was fully inked. Then I sprayed a bit of water at it, and let it drip a bit, then stamped it right on the Vanilla card stock. The tree and leaves are die cut, the word strip is stamped, that's all!

Supplies:
Stamps: Inspired Thoughts
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze
Paper: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso card stocks
Accessories: Inspiring Canopy dies, D Block, Big Shot (retired)
