B is for Bryce!

This summer we took a small vacation, staying in our own state and lots of social distancing, haha... One of the days we spent in Bryce Canyon. Super handy for a scrapbooking challenge to "scrapbook somewhere we went that starts with B!" You also needed a list, so I made our small to-do list the journaling. My pages turned out really simple because I had so many pictures on there. I was actually worried the DP was too busy, but I kept it anyway. I changed the opacity to 70% in hopes of making it more subtle. For the challenge I used just the first two pages...
but really I made three! There is a TON on there (and I left out some I selected for scrapping- which doesn't total all the pictures we took!) so here are some close ups too!
This first page is inspired by THIS one.
This second page is inspired by THIS page.
And I can't find where I saw this quote on a scrapbook page, but I loved it because it is so me, and so true, and so perfect for this layout!
And that is just a glimpse of our day there!

Feels Like Frost DP

This beautiful paper was in last year's Holiday Mini and it was high on my wish list...but I had to get other things first, and by the time I could get this paper, it had already sold out! I was SO bummed! But for whatever happy reason, Stampin' Up! decided to re-release a few returning favorites from last year, this year! You better believe I snagged this paper fast! And it. is. gorgeous!!! Every one of the photographic prints are my favorite! haha..... but seriously!!!

I hadn't stamped in 20 days (this is rough, guys!) and yesterday I woke up wanting to see if it would be "too plain" to do half a sheet of this paper, with one "big" greeting on the side with maybe a strip of ribbon.... It took most of the day, but I got these done and they are not too plain and I love them! If I'd had time, and the Pretty Peacock ink pad (instead of the marker) I would have tried all of the paper! Seriously!

I paired the first three cards with this year's Holiday Mini Christmas must-have- this stamp set called Christmas Means More. One of my very favorite, must-watch-every-year-even-in-summer is the old cartoon of How The Grinch Stole Christmas. This first card uses one of the best lines from that and that alone made me NEED this set. The other phrases come from other movies (one I've only sat thru once, lol) but I like them too!

Supplies:
Stamps: Christmas Means More
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Feels Like Frost DP, Seaside Spray & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Supplies:
Stamps: Christmas Means More
Ink: Just Jade
Paper: Feels Like Frost DP, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: Metallic Pearls, Dimensionals

Supplies:
Stamps: Christmas Means More
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Feels Like Frost DP, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: Metallic Pearls

Then I pulled out a different set of words because I thought this one looked more autumnal than wintery. And I love this new Natural Ribbon, also in the Holiday Mini.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely You
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Feels Like Frost DP, Very Vanilla card stock
Accessories: Natural Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

And then I remembered these words have a coordinating punch. And this pretty print does look wintery up close, but when you use all three shades of purple, it has a spring-ish look to it too.
Supplies:
Stamps: Lovely You
Ink: Gorgeous Grape
Paper: Feels Like Frost DP, Highland Heather & Purple Posy card stock
Accessories: Flowers for Every Season ribbon, Glue Dots

Anyway, I had a fun little afternoon putting all of these together and I'm really excited to make more soon!

A is for Aquarium!

Okay, this wasn't MUCH "stamping" like I had hoped, but it is something!
I needed to scrap these pages for my daughter and I found a challenge for scrapping a trip somewhere that starts with A! I still hadn't put this pack of DP away from August, and that was handy because it has a water pattern, and two patterns that I picked that have whales. There sure aren't any whales at our aquarium (we are SO landlocked, haha) but it worked well I thought.

Supplies:
Stamps: ABC Alphabet Lower (retired!)
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Whisper White & Daffodil Delight card stock, Sunshine & Sprinkles DP (retired!)
Accessories: Fairy Tale ribbon (retired!), stapler, watercolor brush

Since it's a three pager, I have a close up of each page for you. There were so many pictures of this day so the title had to be tiny.

The challenge included hand written journaling and/or a list. I managed to do both! For this journaling tag I used a watercolor brush and Pacific Point ink to add some interest and depth. I pulled up the website of the aquarium to find out exactly what these animals were, and added some incredibly old ribbon to make it more of a tag. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Graduation Pages!

I've only had time to digi scrap lately! (I am hoping to stamp today....!) So here's a couple new pages for you. Suuuuper simple again, but the point was to document the event and the weirdness of it all!

Simple Scrapping

I've gotten graduation scrapbooked for my son! Yeay! He ended up with 18 pages of all the festivities! Hooray for digi scrapping? hahaha.... So to start, I made a page of all the perks of this lousy year, haha. Our school and our community did a number of little things to try to help the graduates feel special, instead of forgotten. "Losing" that last two and a half months and missing out on so much, was incredibly hard, disappointing, heartbreaking, discouraging and kind of every other negative emotion. And yet, as far as graduation, in some ways I think these kids had it better than years past!

Supplies: MDS
Journaling Fonts: 1942 Report, Cinnamon Cake

The repeated 2020 is a text box that I just added to the background, along with some splatters for a bit of interest. I love that DP that looks like notebook paper! And it's just a collage of some of the photographable things that happened.

A New Flower!

I got a new order delivered yesterday and apparently it was just the thing I needed to carve out some crafting time! Today I managed to get FOUR new cards made!

This new stamp set is a little bit hidden... It's designed to go with a beautiful kit but at the moment, I don't need any more kits, haha. But I really liked the flower and I like the fonts that are included and I hoped it would work just fine without the kit. You'll find it at the bottom of page 8 in the current Annual Catalog.

I used the latest sketch from the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge as my starting point, altho they didn't all quite follow it. This first one comes the closest -
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizazz, Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry
Paper: Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: watercolor brush

This second card uses a similar color scheme, but this time it came from the latest TGIF color Challenge. Almost.... I actually meant to use a different card but my final touch was adding the stripes and this time I used the Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends marker, which messed up the *exact color challenge. Other than THAT it's perfect, haha.... The leaves are stamped off with the veins in the first inking of Pear Pizazz.
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz, Soft Suede, Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends
Paper: Blushing Bride & Whisper White cardstock

And then I kept going with a couple other colors, to use up the full sheet of Whisper White card stock which was trimmed down to be a card front, ha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Misty Moonlight, Pear Pizazz, Old Olive, Crushed Curry
Paper: Old Olive & Whisper White card stocks

Supplies:
Stamps: Gorgeous Posies
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron, Garden Green
Paper: Rich Razzleberry & Whisper White card stocks

Do you have a favorite one? Do you prefer the strips with the sketch or the scattered bits of whatever? haha.... Looking forward to playing with more colors soon!

Starting Calendars!

You probably know I do digital scrapbook calendars for our parents every Christmas. Usually I spend the time between Thanksgiving and the last possible print date cramming to find pictures and put pages together. That is not fun for me, that's stressful, haha, so I'm getting started now!
Last night I finished putting the March page together for my in-laws (their calendar is easier- it only uses pictures of my own little family).
Supplies: MDS, Pocket Card from Persnickety Prints
Colors: Pear Pizazz, Always Artichoke, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, More Mustard & Gold

I used the top...3/4 or so of THIS sketch to design the layout.
I use the long-retired MDS to make the pages and then I have printed the calendars thru Shutterfly, Snapfish, and even at Staples! Anyway, expect to see a lot more of these pages in the coming weeks!

We Create Blog Hop: Don't Stamp So Close To Me

A new month, and this one happens to be my favorite, so it's going to be great, right?? And a new month means a new blog hop!
This time, we're embracing the crazy world (as noted in the title) and using a theme of no stamping. I honestly thought I'd be sharing a scrapbook layout, but when I was sifting thru my stamp supplies the other day, I decided to make a card with die cuts. I used the color challenge from Just Add Ink, and two different sets of dies.
Supplies:
Paper: Purple Posy, Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Whisper White
Accessories: Seaside Spray metallic ribbon, Well Written dies, Sweet Silhouettes dies, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Glue Dots

This worked out well because TODAY is the day the brand new Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine is finally available! You can read more about it on page 170 of your annual catalog or by clicking HERE, and even add it to your September order while you're there!
Full disclosure- I have not yet used this machine, but I am looking forward to it! It takes up less space too!

Now hop on over to Tricia's blog by clicking the button below, and see what she has created for you. Then hop on through everyone's blogs and let us know what you think! And happy September!
