Cute birthday card

Happy Saturday to you! This week included a big-deal birthday for my mom. The card I made for her uses the latest sketch from the Clean & Simple blog, and the newest Paper Pumpkin stamps I haven't even put together yet!
Supplies:
Stamps: Wildflower Wishes Feb 2018 Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Real Red
Paper: Blushing Bride, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils

For years, I have had my kids make a card for their grandparents birthdays, which means they usually get three cards from our house. This time, I borrowed an idea my in-laws came up with several years ago. I contacted a bunch of family members, reminded them it was a special birthday, and asked everyone that could, to please send a card. My in-laws typically have every member of the house send a card so that the person gets as many cards as they are old. The idea was a big hit, and I can't wait to see how many cards she actually got! :)
These are the cards my big kids created, and I'm pretty sure my daughter picked the stamp set on the top of the pile, haha, so yes, same stamp set, and same retired Blackberry Bliss card stock!

and I even had the baby choose crayons and draw on a paper for Grandma!

Valentine's Day!

I finally got Valentine's  cards made for my big kids, but not until yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, the cards are much more "all occasion" than they are Valentine specific, so you can still find inspiration! ...even if I used some very retired supplies on these, haha.

Both cards use the latest sketch from the Clean & Simple blog.

This card for my son uses his two favorite colors, has blue headphones like he does, and a very retired star embossing folder. When he was little he loooved stars. He would point them out everywhere! And I can't seem to get away from that. I still find myself pulling out star things for his stuff. 'cause I'm a cool mom like that.... haha...
Oh, this also uses a color combo from Splitcoaststampers.com
Supplies:
Stamps; Epic Celebrations
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Peekaboo Peach & Whisper White card stocks, Color Theory DP
Accessories: Big Shot, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder (retired!), White Baker's Twine, Dimensionals

This card uses the color combo from the Inky Friends blog, and again, the same sketch as above. I almost never use a color combo because I usually find them too tricky and I over think it and I rarely like the result. In this case, I planned on the Lemon Lime Twist because it is exactly my daughter's favorite color, and the Berry Burst to throw in some pink for Valentines, and then I realized it was most of this challenge already! So I added some Soft Sky!
Supplies:
Stamps: Making a Point (retired!)
Ink: Memento Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Soft Sky
Paper: Soft Sky, Lemon Lime Twist & Whisper White card stocks, Color Theory DP
Accessories: Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder (retired!), White Baker's Twine, Blender Pens, Dimensionals

Anyway, when the kids woke up this morning, their cards and a little treat was at their spot on the dining table.
Happy Valentines Day to you, and I hope you have a great Wednesday no matter what!

Pretty flowers

Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great weekend!
Sometimes you create something exactly and sometimes it ends up not all that close to the idea you had. This card took it's own direction twice. First, I stamped the flowers in Fresh Fig, and then realized the DP is really Berry Burst! So I had to stamp a new main panel. Then, I had looked for sketches and meant to use THIS one from Viva la Verve sketches....but I kind of missed. The elements are all there, just stacked differently.
Welp, this is the card we're making at my class, and that's where it all came from, haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Number of Years
Ink: Pear Pizazz, Berry Burst
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Berry Burst & Whisper White card stocks, Naturally Eclectic DP
Accessories: Metallic Foil Doilies

Epic Celebration!

I ended yesterday's post saying that I was going to get creating- and I totally did! I finished planning my class!

Today I have a fun card for you. This will be part of my upcoming class, and while the design is my own and I was excited to see it turn out with these colors, the layout sure looks a lot like THIS and THIS from the same upcoming class....! haha! I must be in a left-wall mood, hahaha!

This is the first time I've used the guitar, and this time I used the Watercolor pencils to color. I thought the pop of yellow in the glitter dots would be cool, but they're placed wonky. And they're permanent. Fortunately, class attendees can stick them where they want, haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Epic Celebrations
Ink: Archival Basic Gray, Smoke Slate
Paper: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Glitter Enamel Dots, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens

Blog Hop: Stepped up Scrapping!

February already??
The first of the month means a Blog Hop! Today I am ridiculously excited to share a stepped up scrapbook page with you! Scrapbooking is my real love, my real paper crafting passion, and the real thing that led me to join Stampin' Up! I have been scrapbooking for 24 years (which is slightly horrifying...) except for the last two years and I miss it so much! And this, I am both very happy and a little bit sad to say, is my baby's first page ever!

First the very simple version: a few pictures, some pretty paper and a little stamping...
and then, the stepped up version! Mat the words, add some cute embellishments, and it's even better!
Supplies:
Stamps: Colorful Seasons
Ink: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blends Marker, Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Marker
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral & Night of Navy card stock, Delightful Daisy DP
Accessories: Old Olive Baker's Twine, Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon, Pearls, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

See how cute?? I colored the Pearls with the Stampin' Blends markers and that adds a fun pop! I couldn't get the twine to stop bending, but I think it works fine anyway.
I love stamping in my scrapbooks, too! At the first Stampin' Up! workshop I ever attended, the demonstrator pointed out that stamps are muuuuch cheaper than stickers. With the inventory I soon collected, I'm not sure that's 100% accurate, hahaha, but you can re-use them over and over and over!

And since it is winter and overcast and lighting is tricky with photos anyway, here's a shot with a flash that may or may not allow you to see the page better....?
What have you been creating lately? I am determined to scrapbook this year. I have a goal and everything, haha! And since I got this one done, there's no reason I can't keep going!

I hope this inspired you to step up your stamped projects! Hop on over to see what Lynn made, and then hop thru the whole group! You won't be disappointed!
