Christmas Sunday

The Sunday before Christmas is one we try to keep extra special. These photos are a few years old, but they highlight a few of our Christmas Sunday traditions.

This layout was actually a CASE or Scraplift of a scrappy friend, which is why I mixed DP's, which is something I rarely do. I like the result tho!

Bike Rodeo

This is a fun page, I think. Everything except the colors are long retired, but the photos are pretty old too, haha!

I used a challenge for this one, to choose from a list of accessories. From the suggested list, I used
- enamel dots
- die cuts
- twine
- staples
And I'm really happy with this one!
Supplies:
Stamps: ABC Alphabet Upper & Lower (retired!)
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Paper: Basic White, Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, Pink Passion (retired)
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Glue Dots, White Perfect Accents (retired), Windmill Fields dies (retired), My ABC's Stampin Wheel (retired!)

Whole lotta Zoo

Hello again! More scrapping for you today!
A few years ago, we took our kids to the zoo for the first time in over a decade. First time for the youngest.
I think we got a photo of every single animal we saw. It's not a huge zoo, but it does take most of the day to see it all... And that doesn't include all the other photos we took. For some reason that utterly escapes me, lol, a few months later, I printed a STACK of photos of this day. And I printed three sets so each child gets it in their book. That is a dumb lot of photos for one day...! Sooo these photos have all sat in their little shoeboxes of photos, making me feel overwhelmed and uninterested in scrapping them. ha.
Until last week when I decided it was time to put them to paper for at least one of my kiddos! I had selected the DP within a year of printing the photos, and then used pretty much all the zoo animals my mom and I have.
(We won't talk about how many days it took me to put these NINE pages together. ahem. But we will talk about not printing that many photos of a single event that isn't Christmas, ever, ever again. And we'll question printing that many for Christmas too!)

Supplies:
Stamps: Wild About You (2006), Noah (1996), Zoofari (2007), Gorgeous Grunge -all retired
Ink: wild: Flirty Flamingo, zebra: Memento Black, giraffe: Delightful Dijon, lion: More Mustard, elephant: Pebbled Path, Penguin: Balmy Blue, snake: Parakeet Party, camel; Cinnamon Cider, deer: Moody Mauve, alligator: Cucumber Crush, sheep: Chocolate Chip, birds: Melon Mambo, rhino: Pebbled Path, monkey: Pecan Pie, leopard: Mango Melody, splash: Soft Sky, bear: Seaside Spray - many retired
Paper: Cucumber Crush, Basic White card stocks, 2015-17 in color envelope paper -retired
Accessories: Alphabet a La Mode dies, Glue Dots, big shot

And at least that set is done!
(and no, I didn't use every photo I printed. A few went into her photo album, which is where not scrapped photos go, lol!)

Book Worms!

Happy Saturday! It is National Scrapbooking day and I've been scrapping this week.
This DP just retired but it is still my favorite that they've ever put out. And I think that's saying kind of a lot..... ha.
For this scrapbook page for my daughter, I finally used one of the "rooms" part of the DP, and I fussy cut out four cute little reading girls! And I super love the scene! It just worked so nicely with pictures of us at the Book Fair, haha. The alphabet stamp is super old but I love the kid "handwriting" for school events when they're little, and that's what this is!
Supplies:
Stamps: Crayon Fun Alphabet Lower (2002, retired!)
Ink: Starry Sky (retired)
Paper: Basic White card stock, Just Kiddin' DP (retired!)
Accessories: Dimensionals
Journaling Font: Dreaming Outloud Pro

Here's a close up of the scene I made. The room background was printed, but the four girls are all cut out- even the one cut in half because she was on the edge of the DP and now she's on the edge of the page! I think it still worked! And two are popped up on Dimensionals, which I don't usually do in scrapping, but I felt it needed to happen here.

A Valentines Page

Today I have a scrapbook page for you.
This one used up some "mistakes" I made back in January for THIS card. I even state in the post that I tried three times, haha! I kept those mistakes and then die cut a bunch of hearts out for my page today.

Supplies:
Stamps: Alphabet Appeal Lower (retired), Skinny Mini Alphabet (retired)
Ink: Sweet Sorbet (retiring!)
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock
Accessories: Resin Hearts (retired), Heart framelit dies (retired), big shot (retired)

And as a reminder, haha, everything here is retired because my retired stash IS for my scrapbooks. Altho that ink is still available if you're interested!!

Visit Santa!

Happy Monday!

Back to that theme of holiday order, haha, here are two different years that this kiddo got to visit Santa. I used a lot of green that past week which was not really intentional. But in both of these cases it does match the DP I chose!

Supplies:
Paper: Mossy Meadow card stock, Home For Christmas DP
Accessories: Real Red 1/8" Striped Ribbon - used UP

Supplies:
Paper: Garden Green c/s, Peaceful Prints DP
Accessories: Regals Candy Dots

Easter Pages!

I really am hoping to make some cards very soon, but in the meantime, I did get 17 pages done this week. I am SUPER excited about that.
I have a small shoebox for each kid of photos I print whenever the mood strikes and the price is right. Then I scrapbook as it interests me, haha... Well, this kiddo has ONE set of printed photos left after I got done this week. Yeay!! And I used almost entirely long retired stash which is always a good thing. Ahem. But I keep it FOR my scrapbooks, so it's fine.

As far as showing it off here, we'll start at the beginning of a year, ha. Here's an Easter.

A Busy Night!

This page has no title, or stamping. This one was also made in May and is also of Christmas 2022, and all of one evening. We went to see A Christmas Carol at a local theater, and then got a delicious dinner, annd then my husband's car wouldn't start so we had to jump it, ha. But it was all worth scrapping!

Supplies:
Paper: Old Olive card stock, Night Before Christmas DP
Accessories: 1/8 Striped Ribbon, Regals Candy Dots, Metal Edge Tags
Journaling Font: Baguet Script

Davy Crockett's Canoes!

Let's go back to sharing some Disney pages, shall we?

This was actually one of the first layouts I made after we got home (it was the fourth page). It is SO simple and quick, but that was exactly what we needed that minute so it fit perfectly. (Disneyland can be a bit overwhelming to beginners...)

Supplies:
All MDS: Well Worn DP, Island Indigo mat, Vanilla front
Font: Playbill, Berlin Sans FB

Random Characters

This is Princess Elena, a less popular princess we weren't necessarily expecting to see. She comes from a tv show that is a spin off from another tv show, ha.... The one episode my younger daughter has seen is all about sisters, so the sisters talked to her, haha.

Paper: Poppy Parade, Everyday Enchantment DP
Accessories: Gold Gems (pp kit)
Journaling Font: Mystical Woods Smooth Script

Then these two were in Fantasyland, which we didn't expect, and not exactly "connected" either, haha. Everything Pixar is in California Adventure, but okay. We absolutely were of the "take what we can get" attitude, so why not? This was made with existing items in the long-retired MDS but they fit perfectly!

I am hoping to make something with actual stamps and paper today, but we shall see. And if not, I have more Disney, haha!

Iron Man!

This layout was fun, even tho it looks so simple. I had gear stamps and shiny gold card stock and that was exactly perfect for Iron Man! And, my son was wearing his Iron Man shirt the same day he had a chance to talk to him!
This interaction was hilarious and I kept trying to get video of the conversation, mixed with taking photos, haha! Yeay for fun characters!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sense of Time
Ink: Gold Delicata
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Gold Foil
Journaling Font: Incised901 BdCn BT

Toon Town!

When we went to Disneyland, Toon Town was at least half closed. Things were boarded off, things didn't work, and it was kind of sad and lame. We were conflicted as to whether it was nice to see it before it all changed, or if it would have been better to skip it... jury is still out on that one. Some of the "boarded up" signs were funny, but I feel like it was funnier 20something years ago.

However, we still took a lot of pictures of what we *could see, so that means several pages worth. And I used a lot of 6x6 pages of DP that have literally been collecting dust for maybe 10 or more years so that was a good thing!

okay well this one is digital... Because I needed to fit a lot of photos on there! But the wonky 'counter' that tells you how many people reside in Toon Town wasn't spinning, the different sounds didn't happen when you pushed buttons, lots just didn't work. Darnit.

Barely Banana, Poppy Parade, Tempting Turquoise polka dot
Journaling font: Mickey

A page of things to ride in, except Mickey's Trailer, which has always been a favorite cartoon of mine that is actually on Disney+!

Donald Duck, and his boat, and the inside of Goofy's house, showing cartoons that are not as old as Mickey's trailer, but not as new as my childhood, haha.

Both Mickey and Minnie were inside their houses but you had to wave from clear into the "street". Stupid covid. And you can glimpse the "Toon Town" sign in the mountains, like the Hollywood sign, but that's all you can see of it. Sad...

Pluto was in his garden, which was fun.

Two water fountains, Gadget's Go Coaster (which reminded my son of the Phineas & Ferb episode with the half-second roller coaster, ha!) and Chip & Dale's treehouse.
And that summarized Toon Town, while using up old DP and old buttons! Love that!

Supplies:
ToonTown:
Cars: Poppy Parade polka dots, In Color Printed Designer Brads (Island Indigo)
Mickey/ Minnie house: real red polka dot DP, Peachy Keen stamps,
Pluto: Apricot Appeal? DP Wood Buttons
Donald/house: Bashful Blue DP, Brilliant Blue buttons
Fountains: Blushing Bride? DP
Journaling Font: Minnie

Grandpa Scrapping!

These pages are totally unrelated and several years apart, but both of these were made in recent weeks for my daughter and they have a matching theme. So I'm posting them together! Because I can!

Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Early Espresso & Cajun Craze card stocks, Autumn Spice DP (long retired)
Accessories: Alphabet a la Mode dies, Glue Dots, Wood Buttons (retired), big shot (retired)

Time to breathe

Happy Saturday to you! After alllll the stress of all the things this month, I have been pretty much just relaxing the last day or two, with kind of a "so there!" attitude about it. Because I really need to decompress and breathe a minute! But don't worry, we're ready to dive into summer and we have lots of plans!

So here's some Disneyland for you! And really, the only moment we took in the parks to do exactly that! This was right after the character parade where Anna was so excited to see our little princess. (second page down in THIS post) My husband took advantage of a moment in the shade to figure out our lunch order and do the mobile ordering.
Stamps: Sense of Time
Ink: Gray Granite
Paper: Balmy Blue, So Saffron card stock, Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' Kit
Accessories: Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' Kit

Something funny to me that we didn't notice at the time, none of us were paying attention to the details where we were. We had enjoyed the cartoons in the theater, then the parade, then the shade. My oldest and youngest love to watch youtube videos about Disneyland, with little "hidden secrets" and the "stories behind" and just different things a first time visitor would never know, and well after we were home and this was scrapped, the door way my family is sitting in was mentioned in one of these videos. This is the door glass dedicated to Walt himself with a little quote. Here's the close up:

Anyway, it was a nice little spot to take a breather, haha, before we continued on til midnight. HA!

Oh, also! Tip to help with whining small people! haha... those sunglasses she has on were purchased maybe an hour before this. She really did so good for all the walking and waiting we had to do, but she would get whiny. On our LAST day, half way thru, haha, my husband asked if sunglasses might help her? I don't think she whined once after that. Not even kidding. So, if you're planning a trip that will have some boring time in the sunshine, consider that! ha!

Tomorrowland - How to travel!

Happy Saturday! Oh my word, are we gonna make it thru this month?! I am *not sure! But here for now, we are with what I believe is the rest of Tomorrowland!

This page is quick and simple.

Supplies:
Stamps: Skinny Mini Alphabet
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Pineapple Punch, Berry Delightful DP
Accessories: Red 1/8 striped ribbon
Journaling Font: Arial Narrow

And this next page is actually a hybrid. Most of the page was created in the long-retired MDS, but I don't have a single digital car image and I DID have stamps, so I printed the page then added a bit of cardstock with stamped cars at the top. And the layout came from HERE

Autopia: MDS (retired)
Stamps: Let's Get Away (long retired)
Ink: Fresh Fig (retired), Gold Glimmer (retired), Perfect Plum text
Paper: Red Glimmer, White, Black
Accessories: Perfect Plum brads
Journaling Font: Copperplate Gothic

I hope that YOUR weekend is relaxing! I might relax later this week... we'll see!

Tomorrowland - Sci-Fi!

Happy Saturday! Our trip to Disneyland is really close to done, but has been left far on the back burner (literally, against the back wall of my desk, ha!) for a while. Maybe after graduation I can go back to scrapping a little of everything instead of being focused on one topic.... But we'll see what summer holds!!

In the meantime, here are a few simple pages that were all back to back. Our last morning in Disneyland we started at Tomorrowland and hit most of it! Today I'll just share the sci-fi parts.

Supplies:
Paper: Misty Moonlight, Basic Black
Accessories: Iridescent Pearls
Journaling Font: Space Bd BT

Supplies:

Actually we did Star Tours our first night in Disney, but it fits with these pages better, haha.

Character Paper

Happy Saturday! I hope it's a good weekend for you!
Back to some Disney trip...! This page is super simple, but it was one of those times when the DP I have in my stash that worked so perfectly with the characters we found! Acorns for Chip and the Razzleberry foliage for Daisy's outfit, from the same pack!
And this was the only time we found Daisy Duck - who was someone my youngest really wanted to meet! These were the first three stops this morning and it was off to a great start, haha!

Supplies:
Stamps: Creative Elements
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Into The Woods DP
Journaling Font: Susie's Hand

Jungle Cruise!

Good morning! Another Disneyland layout for you today!

This was a fun layout to make! I really liked the group picture so I made it bigger. And its on our wall, actually! Then some pics of the ride itself. This DP is actually orange, and came with MDS originally. And the elephant actually faces the other direction but I flipped him to get him on my page! MDS was a lot of fun when I knew what I was doing, ha!

Supplies:
MDS: Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, recolored Hoppy Memories DP, elephant comes from Storytime Suite
Journaling Font: Chiller

Cold Treats!

Today I have a traditional page from our Disney trip. This was another stamp set of my mom's that was a perfect match for a popsicle on a stick, ice cream bites and two slushies! ha! I made the page but I turned my older daughter loose with coloring the treats in however she liked and this is what we got.

I really tried to include everyone's thoughts in the journaling and I asked my kids' opinions on colors for each "thing".

Stamps: Sunny Fun, Alphabet Appeal Lower
Ink: Memento Black, Poppy Parade
Paper: Basic White, So Saffron
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils
Journaling Font: Birch Std
