Trains! Round Two...

Hello again! Two days in a row- and the same thing, just scrapped a little differently.
This layout one is for my son, and I let him select which photos to scrap, and which DP to use. The first bit of DP is so old it's single sided! ha! The second one, I cut out the part of the map that applied to this engine.

Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, Just Perfect Alpha
Ink: Memento Black, Crumb Cake
Paper: World Of Good DP, Timeworn DP (single sided!)
Journaling Font: Courier New

Another big project that has been keeping me from paper crafting was that we redid our main bathroom. Nine years ago we put together this Batman themed bathroom. What you don't see here are some metal signs we put in there later, next to the shower, and Batman cabinet knobs. You also don't see the Batman trash can hiding around the corner. Astoundingly, no photos exist of these things....which boggles my brain. But it was a whole thing.

It's been fun, but the fan has never been effective and it's a very small space with no actual ventilation, so it's gotten mildewy and smelly and not great. We knew we had to repaint with Kilz, and we needed to replace some things that had started to rust, so we went all out!
The biggest reason I'm sharing it here is that the paint color was created with a scrap of Seaside Spray card stock because that's my favorite shade of Stampin' Up! blue, ever! And it worked so nicely with the shower curtain we planned to return to!
Cool, huh?? It's a dark room now, darker than we intended, but the people who use it the most love it, so that's good enough for me!

Trains! Round One...

Some of my kids love trains. lovvvvve trains.
A few years ago the Big Boy engine 4014 was on display in our area, so my husband and I took our youngest to check it out. We decided it was totally worth our son missing a little bit of school to come see it the next day, ha. That meant we got a lot of pictures, which finally got scrapped!
On this layout, I used an old Simply Scrappin' Kit for a few bits here. It's actually more postage themed than train, but somehow, in my brain anyway, it worked.
Oh, the journaling is typed up in a strip on the top of the second page, but I took the picture before typing it.
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, Just Perfect Alpha
Ink: Always Artichoke, Tip Top Taupe
Paper: Basic White card stock, Tailor-Made Simply Scrappin' Kit
Accessories: Tailor-Made Simply Scrappin' Kit, Chocolate Baker's Twine from a PP Kit
Journaling Font: Courier New

Our fence was finished last week! Check out the change in view! haha...!

We're all very excited. We have a gate in the back as shown, and a gate on each side, and a fully fenced backyard! No more wandering pets or visiting wildlife leaving their deposits in the yard. Even me and my internal reality-check that putting in a garden means a lot. more. work. come fall. ha. It's gonna be awesome!

Another Father's Day card...

It is a good thing I got so much stamping done the other day! I ended up going to the instacare this week and finding out I do have bronchitis! My husband has pneumonia so now the concern is how many others are we sharing with?! UGH... moving is too stressful!

Sometimes, like when I have way too much going on in my life, I am perfectly happy to use my stash of cards to find "the right one" to give someone. And sometimes, I really just have to create something new.
If you've read anything here in the last month or so, you know this was absolutely a stash kind of a season for me. hahaha... (see above!) However, I still needed one last (new!) Father's Day card while I was creating last Saturday. So this is the one I made. I also haven't played with Traveler in quite a while, and it stayed in the catalog, so that's a good time to use it!
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler
Ink: Dapper Denim, Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe
Paper: Tip Top Taupe, Dapper Denim, Whisper White card stocks

This card stayed quite simple, but I really like the color combo. And yes, I did use another new In Color for today's post, haha!
Also, if you're wondering, Father's Day was a good day for us. We managed to see a lot of family with a family event on my side and dinner with my husband's parents later. Love days like that! I also love days when my kids get to give three different cards to three different loved ones!

A Birthday Train!

In the coming weeks, we have a few family birthdays coming up for some guys so I needed to make some masculine cards. This is hard for a lot of stampers, but if you keep it simple, keep the sparkles and ruffles off, it comes pretty easily for me! The latest Retro Sketch worked perfectly!
I pulled out the Traveler stamp set for this one! I love this set, the images are fantastic and vintage and beautiful but I don't use it very often! I decided that needed to change! I also kept the colors simple and used a nice, vintage color scheme!
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Memento Black, Tip Top Taupe
Paper: Whisper White & Tip Top Taupe card stocks, In Color Envelope Paper
Accessories: Linen Thread, Neutral Buttons, Dimensionals

A Nautical Card!

Today I took some time to stamp, with paper and ink, so there! haha...
I have been loooving all the new creations from the Occasions Mini and the Sale-A-Bration products, but, I've also been thinking about all the other current products I haven't used since before the holiday season. So I pulled out this fantastic stamp set I fell in love with as soon as I saw it...and have hardly used....and this great DP that works so well with it, which I have also barely used! I combined them with the current Mojo Monday sketch and I made this:
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Maritime DP
Accessories: White Baker's Twine, Banner Punch, Dimensionals

A Nautical Card

for your Monday morning!

Today is the first of my fall classes, and I'm featuring products from the new catalog (since I haven't done any classes since it came out!). This card uses the Freshly Made Sketch, and the Maritime DP, and this sa-weet ship! As much as I love ships and nautical paper, I think my favorite is the three brads in the corner, haha!
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Smoky Slate & Whisper White card stock, Maritime DP
Accessories: Silver Mini brads, Mat Pack

Man Birthday!

Happy Monday to you! Are you ready for another week? This is our first full week of school and I can tell you we have not adjusted to the new wake-up time...!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday, and this is the card I sent him! I used the Freshly Made Sketch, and I'm getting this in under the wire, but I had to wait to post it til he got it!
His favorite color is yellow, and the camera and globe images suit him for sure!
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, World Map, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Hello Honey
Paper: Hello Honey, Crumb Cake & Baked Brown Sugar card stocks, Park Lane DP
Accessories: Neutral Buttons, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Yes, the inks and card stocks are different...the listed color of brown in the Park Lane DP is Soft Suede. I wanted to use two shades of ink for the images, to make the camera stand out more. I also wanted the map more subtle, hence the tone on tone. I noticed how nicely the Crumb Cake card stock went with the DP so I used that. Annnd the Baked Brown Sugar was simply the wrong package of brown- I thought I was using Soft Suede til I went to put the scrap back- whoops! haha...but I think it worked out just fine!

Featuring: Traveler

For the Blog Hop last week, I featured the new Traveler stamp set and a few of the new In-Colors. Today's post continues on that theme, showing off another of the new colors!
I used last week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout, and the card has a kind of masculine feel to it. I fit three of the stamp images onto this card, which is always fun!
Supplies:
Stamps: Traveler, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist
Paper: Very Vanilla, Lost Lagoon & Hello Honey card stocks
Accessories: 1 3/8 inch circle punch, Hexagon punches, Dimensionals

I decided to just use one stamp set, but also feature the new In Colors! Anyone who knows me will not be surprised by my choice to buy this stamp set, haha! Between my train-loving son and own attraction to anything old or nautical there was zero hesitation in this purchase!

This card uses THIS sketch.

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Smoky Slate, Whisper White card stocks

And this card uses a new-to-me sketch found HERE.
