Pink & Yellow

Hello again! I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

Today's card takes the inspiration very literally. I used the latest SUO Challenge to CASE the designer. Check! I didn't use the same shades, but I did use the same colors for everything. I used a different, but similar flower image. It's also a thank you card, like the one in the picture, haha! I didn't use any DP, but I did stamp a very subtle background onto the pink to make it not quite so flat. And the strip of green I found was interesting, leftover from cutting a die some other day, and I thought it added a bit of fun.
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Elements of Text
Ink: Memento Black, Melon Mambo
Stampin' Blends: Light & Dark Melon Mambo, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark & Light Granny Apple Green
Paper: Basic White, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green & Daffodil Delight card stocks
Accessories: Regal Foiled Dots, Dimensionals

I don't know why I torture myself fussy cutting this flower out, but maaan I do...! And it's pretty that way!

Spring Thanks

Hello again! We did get a little snow but now we've skipped over spring and it's 75* yesterday, today and tomorrow. rats. I'm not ready to be hot yet...

Today's card uses the inspiration photo and sketch from Inspired By Challenges, and it fits the Inspire.Create.Challenges to make a card with a spring theme.

Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Soft Seafoam
Paper: Basic White, Soft Seafoam, Lemon Lolly & Bubble Bath card stocks
Accessories: Transparent Dots

That piece of Bubble Bath card stock was a scrap I pulled out of the pkg exactly like that, and trimmed the white and Lemon Lolly to match the width. Keep those scraps, hahaha!

Pastel Flowers

Today I've combined the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, with the color challenge from The Paper Players, and I'm playing along again with SUO Challenges too!

First I used the Pastels Challenge for a slightly more colorful card. Some yellow, green, pink and honestly, even the beige strikes me as a pastel...
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Simply Said
Ink: Lemon Lolly, Soft Seafoam
Paper: Basic Beige, Country Woods DP
Accessories: Earth Tones Shimmer Gems

Then I did a version with just pinks. Because cutting that darn flower out more than once was fine.... It is not fine, lol. But I *do like how it turns out!

Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Soft Seafoam
Paper: Basic Beige, Country Woods DP

With Sympathy

Hello again, and welcome to March!

Today's card was a last second decision to send a sympathy card. A young man who is my sons age, and he was also in my husband's boy scout group a few years ago, passed away from cancer last week. I haven't interacted with this family much for the last few years, because we moved away and they moved away, but I sent his mother a card. We still live within the same community, so I was able to determine her address.

I used a Blending Brush to add some Soft Seafoam to the card front (and honestly, whatever other shades are on the brush). Then I stamped off once, the text stamp in Garden Green. I fussy cut out the leaf, and popped it up on Dimensionals. The greeting has been retired a few years, but it was a nice sympathy word, so it's good. The dots are also long retired, but it's fine. They're actually Wild Wasabi colored, ha.
Supplies:
Stamps: Elements of Text, Spotlight On Nature, Special Moments (retired)
Ink: Soft Seafoam, Garden Green, Shaded Spruce
Paper: Basic White card stock
Accessories: Subtles Candy Dots (retired), Dimensionals

Purple Birthday!

Today's card is extra happy because I was already thinking about having these flowers hang over the circle text somehow and did you see the latest from Freshly Made Sketches? Perfect match!

I fussy cut out the flowers, and layered Gorgeous Grape flowers over the whole image in Soft Seafoam. I am loving the texture and layers. I'm not always good at the layers, but I am very happy with today's card!

Autumn Leaves!

I have not yet made it up to the mountains, where the leaves are usually much more colorful, and I am totally disappointed about that. I'm afraid I have missed our teeny window of color... There are trees around me, but for some reason the trees in our park strip tend to stay green and fall off in a heavy snow storm... weird.
But today my card is full of colorful leaves! This is for the latest SUO Challenge (rats! I'm too late for this one too!) and the colors are all pulled from their inspiration photo. Like I actually held my ink pads up to the photo to pick the right shades. HA.
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Petunia Pop, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry
Paper: Cajun Craze, Basic White
Accessories: Linen Thread, Dimensionals

Coral Flowers

We made it to Friday! But I have a packed weekend coming up so it isn't a break, haha....

I've got another card for my upcoming class. Simple but pretty.
And this one totally fits the latest challenge from Inspire.Create.Challenges- to make something "floral"!
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Calypso Coral, Wild Wheat
Paper: Calypso Coral, Basic White card stocks, Country Woods DP
Accessories: Brass Butterflies

This was the one I actually designed first. I like the idea, but this particular stamp is too thin of a line image to work on this wood grain DP. And, the Stampin' Spots didn't work out as nicely as I'd hoped and these classes are not about teaching, they're about getting their five cards done, ha, so I decided against it for now.
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Calypso Coral, Garden Green
Paper: Calypso Coral, Country Woods DP
Accessories: Brass Butterflies

Soft Thanks

Less than a week in and today is the first day that feels like summer- it's 89* out there! It does make it easier to play in the water, but that is not on my agenda today so it's just hot.

Today I combined the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches with the colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments. I love how it turned out!!
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature
Ink: Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon
Paper: Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Basic White

For a Birthday

It's summer vacation over here, (HOORAY!!!) but I got this done before school ended!
~~~
Sometimes you use a color challenge you don't love to stretch your creativity. And sometimes you end up loving the result anyway! ha!
Today's card combined the colors from Color Throwdown with the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches.
This challenge looked more like Wild Wheat to me, than what Stampin'  Up! calls "olive". Wild Wheat is not my favorite color, but I do have a couple kids in my house who really like it, so I know other people do too. I *do like Pebbled Path and it seems to go well with most colors. But really, I think the DP is what pulled this card together.
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Simply Said
Ink: Wild Wheat, Pebbled Path
Paper: Wild Wheat, Pebbled Path & Basic White card stocks, Traditions of St Nick DP (online exclusive!)
Accessories: Transparent Adhesive-Backed Dots, Dimensionals
I might even know who will get this one in the mail!
Colorful Leaves
Hello again! This is an afternoon post, which is not common, but maybe it will be this summer. One day left of this school year....!!!
Today I combined the inspiration challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments with the background challenge from TGIF Challenges!
I used the leaves, stamped in three different shades, and then used an embossing folder to give it some good texture. It looks great in person, ha! And the large, scripty words are inspired by the inspiration photo too.
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight on Nature, Encircled in Nature
Ink: Copper Clay, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sea Foam
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock
Accessories: Brass Butterflies, Exposed Brick embossing folder, Dimensionals, big shot
Purple Flowers
Happy Saturday!! I made cards and they fit challenges with end dates coming up! So here we go!
This is my first time using this new-from-the-catalog stamp set. I used the sketch from Just Add Ink and the colors from Color Throwdown to make it.
It's not the best result, but it worked out okay. I taped the squares together to hold them still, and stamped right on to them. Then I inked up the flowers in Gorgeous Grape annnd didn't quite line it up. It's fiiine.
Supplies:
Stamps: Spotlight On Nature
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Pretty Peacock & Basic White card stocks
Accessories: Brass Butterflies, Blending Pens
