Happy Halloween!

Are you ready?? I don't even know what my little one is going ot dress up as tonight! She has six choices and really loves three of them soooo....?

So, remember I've shared a bunch of Halloween cards my mom and I made? I decided to make a card for her and one for her aunt to arrive in the mail hopefully today! When I found the Fab Friday sketch, I thought this would be a super fun card to cut the circle out of and use both pieces. Then as I got going, I thought it would be cute to do the same with the big rectangle section! And that makes two cards!

Supplies:
Stamps: Wonderfully Wicked
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, Memento Black
Paper: Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black & Whisper White card stocks
Accessories: Wicked Dies, Layering Circle Dies, Big Shot, Dimensionals

Which one do you like best?

Christmas Cards!

I know, I definitely have Halloween on the brain, but! This is my job too, and I have Christmas card classes coming up! Also, I just got this stamp set that I fell in love with as soon as I saw the Holiday Mini so I needed to play with it. I was so excited I couldn't pick which sketch I liked better, so I just had to make two cards! I think the first will be part of my class...

Both cards qualify for the SUO Challenge, which is Coloring. The stamps and ribbon come from the Holiday Mini. The image is colored with Stampin' Blends and the words are stamped with the new gold ink! I'm really not a gold person, but I felt like gold was the best metallic with these candles. And everyone was right- the metallic ink is AWESOME. Dries quickly, stays glittery, clear image...YUP. This is a good thing.

This card uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.
This card uses the latest from Sketch Saturday.
Supplies:
Stamps: God's Peace
Ink: Memento Black, Delicata Gold
Stampin' Blends: Dark & Light Cherry Cobbler, Dark & Light Daffodil Delight, Dark Shaded Spruce, Color Lifter
Paper: Very Vanilla, Shaded Spruce & Cherry Cobbler card stocks
Accessories: Shaded Spruce/Gold striped ribbon, Glue Dots

Sailboat Birthday

I don't know what happened... I pulled up this blog to link today's card to facebook and this post isn't here? I know I typed it up, but okay...?

Here is the last of the birthday cards I made this week! This shows both sides of one sheet of DP. I was following a sketch, but I put adhesive on the wrong side of one layer, so I had to rearrange the pieces and then it didn't work with the sketch anymore! Oh well, the card still worked out well.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sailing Home, Well Said
Ink: Balmy Blue, Night of Navy
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy card stocks, Come Sail Away DP

Autumn Trees

Hello again! Fall Break starts today for us and I am SO HAPPY. I'm really over getting up at 6am or earlier...and the school year has only just begun...! Anyway, here is my second guy birthday card for the week.

I used three challenges to make this card, but two passed before I got it posted. The only one still open is the As You See It Challenge to use trees. I liked these bare birch or aspen trees, with a fall leaf color background.
As a matter of information, I would have linked up to the SUO Challenge for autumn, and the Just Add Ink challenge to Just Add H. I picked Happy birthday, haha.
Supplies:
Stamps: Winter Woods
Ink: Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze
Paper: Crushed Curry, Early Espresso & Very Vanilla card stocks
Accessories: Big Shot, Well Written dies, Stamping Sponges, Fine Tip Glue Pen

Mental Health Day

Apparently today is National Mental Health Day. In the Holiday Mini, Stampin' Up! has a new fundraiser set, and for every set sold, $3 will go to mental health organizations! I know of several family members and friends who have turned to mental health organizations, so that is important to me.

This time I used this sweet deer, and some soft autumnal colors for a calm card. This is the final card for my October class, and I kept it "simple" with just stamps, ink and paper so it can easily go for a guy or a girl. It's not technically simple because it uses three stamp sets, but I needed a word, haha.
Supplies:
Stamps: Nature's Beauty, Buffalo Check, Very Versailles
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Seaside Spray, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla card stocks

Anyway, I recommend you get this set because it's quick and cute, versatile, AND goes towards a worthy cause. Also, if you or someone close to you needs help, there is help available. Speak up. Support each other. (((HUGS))) to you, whatever is going on in your world today!

'tis the season!

to get my calendars started!

Every Christmas we give our parents (and my siblings) a photo calendar of our family of the year before. The calendar for my in-laws is just my own little family... My husband is part of a very large family, many of whom we don't even see every year, because of distance and life. There is no way we could feature all of them or even very many of them at all. The calendar for my family includes everyone from my parents down- my mom prefers every child on every page, which is getting trickier and trickier as the years go on and the family grows! But it's a great goal and of course the grandkids want featured in the calendar. Anyway, it's a lot of work and more than once I've spent the first few weeks of December cramming to get two different calendars done. This year I added an event to my October calendar to start working on them! haha...

I use the long retired MDS (or My Digital Studio as it was originally called) to make these calendars, then I print them wherever...we've used Snapfish, Shutterfly, Sam's Club and Staples...and apparently we can only print with a company stated with an S... This past weekend I got four pages done for my in-laws and that's exciting for me! I'm going to share each page individually because who knows how much scrapping or stamping time I'll have with the holidays approaching...

So here is the January page for my in-laws. The page will be displayed January of 2020 and these pictures were taken in December 2018 or January of 2019.

Halloween Cards 1

Happy Monday!
Saturday was World Card Making Day. I have other things going on the first Saturday of October, so I did not participate. However, Stampin' Up! has declared this week World Card Sending Week. They have set a goal that 50,000 cards will be sent this week. I try to send out cards fairly regularly, do you? I have many people in my life that I can't help out in the ways they probably need the most, due to distance, but I can send them something happy in the mail to find among the bills and tediousness of day to day life. And I try to make an effort to do that. Plus- I can't store all the cards I make! May as well put them to good use! You could send out some too! And if you do, let me know and I'll add your sent cards to the count!

Do you send Halloween cards? I really don't. However, I grew up receiving them in the mail! My grandmother was a big fan of Halloween. She dressed up every year, and for us that lived at state away she would call us to cackle like a witch. There were lots of decorations and she sent out Halloween cards to her grandkids every year. Her sister sends them too. My mom sends Halloween cards out to her grandkids, and when her mother passed away, my mom started sending them to her siblings and nieces and nephews too. Now I have a little one who loves Halloween just as much as her grandmother and great-grandmother!

Personally, I like the dressing up. I like trick or treating. I'm a big fan of candy, haha. I love to watch The Great Pumpkin. And that's plenty for me, haha. (I like other fall things like pumpkin patches and apple cider and hay rides and leaves...) But there's a little one in the house so this year we've decorated anyway. And we don't know which costume we're going to wear this year, haha! When you get hand-me-downs from several older kids that all fit at the same time, the choices are just too much!

My mom has been sick rather a lot this summer, so for a fun day we decided to stamp a bunch of Halloween cards. She had some in her stash already, but we made more. And maybe some of these will carry over to next year too! Get comfy because we made a lot! However, you should probably know that almost all the supplies we used are retired!
In fact, I just decided to make this the first of three installments... Just in case you're looking for ideas too! So here are some of the quickest cards to make...

Fall Friends

Today's card is quick, but it's also for my upcoming class! I used the latest from Sketch Saturday, and some autumnal colors.
Supplies
Stamps: Friend Like You
Ink: Old Olive, Grapefruit Grove, Rich Razzleberry, Pineapple Punch
Paper: Old Olive, Grapefruit Grove, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Big Shot, Tin Tile embossing folder

Honestly? my favorite part is the greeting. That's a great phrase to mail out!
Okay, and that the flowers lined up with the stems. Hooray for clear (photopolymer) stamps, haha! Have a great Wednesday!

We Create Orange You Spooky Blog Hop

Happy October to you! And a new month always means a new blog hop!
October is such a fun month, especially if you have kiddos around! My little one is a huge fan of Halloween! None of it scares her, she just tells me it's pretend. She is SO excited people have started decorating and the stores have been full of stuff for a while now. We decorated the house last night and listened to our Halloween playlist, haha!

I don't use a lot of Halloween things, in fact, this is my mom's latest order. But I did think it would be fun to have a Halloween-y note for the kids' lunch boxes, so that is what these are! I used exactly the same supplies for these cards, just changed the card stock color, and the ink I sponged over the masks. That made these quick cards as well!

It also totally qualifies for the Paper Players tic-tac-toe challenge- Orange, Die cut & Halloween. I knew I was using this Halloween die cut, and of course I was using orange! It's part of our theme this month and it's my oldest's favorite color!

Here's a close up of the three different cards...

Supplies:
Stamps: Wonderfully Wicked
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, Rich Razzleberry, Memento Black
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, Rich Razzleberry & Basic Black card stocks
Accessories: Wicked Dies, Big Shot, Fine Tip Glue Pen

And in case you were interested to see, the sponging wasn't perfect, but I liked it that way. Kind of distressed, but not.
So there's a fun, quick way to use a Halloween card for you. Now hop on over to Jeanna and see what she's created. And hop all the way thru, then leave us your thoughts- we all love comments!
